Um... not to tease you but let's set some expectations. The initial announcement of this game was in early June 2021. So its been three months tops.

As a comparison, Overwatch was announced in November 2014, came out in May 2016, Mirror's Edge Catalyst was announced in June 2012, came out in June 2016. Cyberpunk 2077 was announced in June 2012, came out in November 2020 (and wasn't really ready either).

Games like Battlefield, Call of Duty, etc are perennial game releases which have multiple studios working on different sequels at the same time. So yeah those are expected to have short announcement-to-release windows.They also don't provide things like a pre-alpha. As for the The Medium, I had to google that title... I see that it is a Xbox Exclusive and not open-platform like Palia is implying to be. It is my observation many console exclusives tend to have very controlled rollouts because the publishers/console manufacturers have various IPs they can rely on to attract their consumers with.

Many games and developers still today do announce early and this can be beneficial or detrimental depending on the rollout of information and content. As a matter of my own opinion, I like how Singularity 6 is rolling out weekly updates of new characters and art that teases the game's development. In short, I am going to imply patience is going to be needed but we can enjoy content now as it is being revealed to us.

Another thing I would point out, Singularity 6 is just one of many new "high-tier indie" developers that is now entering the market and are looking to establish their brand and identity in advance. Other notable studios I am keeping an eye on is Theorycraft games and DreamHaven. All of them are extremely well-funded so that they can build a product equal to AAA Studio standards, but the one thing they will need of course is time, by driving community interest now and running early-stage testing phases for their games, they are better able to report to their investors on how progress in game development is coming along.

Back in 2015 that was normal for an mmo development window. Palia has been in development for 3 years with much less than 3 years left before release .. a less than 6 year turn around from development time.

Another example: Ashes of Creation
Development started start 2016, Announced end 2016, Alpha-0 released end 2017, last purchases for Alpha-1 mid 2018, Verbal NDA lifted early 2021, Currently in Alpha-1 testing .. no game release as of yet 5 years on.
