There seems to be 3 colours to the elves. Most are pinkish, one so far is dark pink and two range from light to dark purple. They may be the same race (like humans having different skin colours) but different groups /families have a distinctness. My collage in #🎨│old-palia-fan-art shows the villagers on one screen for comparison.

Well I come from WoW itself and I like the idea of an MMO based on games like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing

I started FFXIV so many times, even buying a max level Pally from Square. I just can't do the grindy, quest-based MMO any more. Great story, but I think I did it to myself. We did WoW too, pre-Cata and loved the Raids, but think it contributed to the distaste. Like eating the same food too much in a row.

DMing for larger groups is a lot easier with freeform campaigns/events that don't rely on rolls. The two most important things in my view are to clearly and concisely explain the setting/situation and be able to read very fast and respond to multiple individual player actions at the same time to create a dynamic event that everyone can feel like they played a part in without overloading the group with details.

I can't promise I'll be doing that in Palia, but if it's a good environment for RP I also can't not promise it.

I ran games for my best friends and my parents. All of them were experienced and supportive so the stumbles weren't so bad. I would highly suggest starting with friends who know the game and who won't give you a hard time.

I bet you'd do a fine job. DM little events like a BBQ where a deer runs into the yard and starts kicking over all the tables or a picnic where you, the DM, play the inclement weather that swoops in. I've written for anywhere from 1 to 50 other people, and while not everyone enjoys the big-time group settings, you might be surprised to learn how high your tolerance for managing a narrative between multiple people can be.

I have done a few Beta tests. Those usually give out a certain things to test and/or focus on over a period of weeks/months. Open Beta usually has all systems set, and us just finding bugs and stress tests for the server.

I got into one Alpha, and that only for about 2 weeks before closed Beta, and from what I recall, it's Alpha that can decide the direction of a game, what is fun, tedious, easy, hard, rewarding, ect.

I did apply for Alpha, like the rest of us. And I do hope to get in. But so far it seems like those who did get in, that we know of, are not the types to just be 'i just want to play and see if I'll buy it's types. They really want the game to live up to it's core idea. And it gives me hope

I think the game philosophy is more sims online than sims. You can play it on your own with no interaction with other players but the game will be better if you do play with others. Sims online was exactly like this. You could live alone in your house or open your house to other players and interact

They havent gone into much detail about most of it yet, but they did mention that when certain things are implemented will be based on player demand

I want them to add ways to interact with npcs. Being able to wave, high five, hug them etc. Based on your relationship with them. Spiritfarer let's you hug characters and they all have unique animations based on their personality! It's incredibly charming and satisfying.

We've discussed monetisation before, and I think that might tie in well into this -- a concurrent subscription rewards designing the game around catering to player loyalty, so making content that is fun in the long run and regularly updating the game is directly correlated with profits. As far as I know, Animal Crossing: NH hasn't got this kind of monetisation in the game which might lead to Nintendo not seeing much interest in continuously adding content to the game.

I really hope the crafting system is complex and has a variety of possible combinations. Past MMORPGS have been horrible in this aspect

Yeah, they said in #❓│old-team-answers-alpha that since combat won't be in-depth, they're pooling most of their resources into making stuff like crafting, fishing, harvesting, etc to be the main source of gameplay
