idk about any of ya'll, but i hope they add better graphics settings for higher end pcs. The official announcement trailer had such lush landscapes and beautiful lighting. i'd love to see at least more trees, bushes and more of the 3d grass. or maybe even grass that blows in the wind. just things to make the game look prettier and feel more immersive. maybe that's something they'll work on when the game is out of beta . i also wonder if they'll stop supporting switch 1 eventually, since it might hold the game back for future updates.

personally despite having a supposedly "gaming computer" i find that my computer already struggles a little, it's not too bad but let's just say there are times i could use my computer as a handwarmer; while I do find the world gorgeous I think that sacrificing some 3D grass for not making my computer overheat is definitely worth it lol, and that's with a decent computer - i think for a majority of players it would just make the game crash/lag more than it already does, so the devs aren't going to concentrate on that much

I'm just saying to maybe add a higher setting, so the people that already have issues, can keep their settings the same. My pc is 3 years old and I get 150 fps with everything maxed out. And I mean, look at how beautiful a game like Crimson Desert can be while also being able to run on a 1060. Pearl Abyss has a way higher budget, but I'm sure there are ways to better optimize the game while making it look nicer visually. And I'm not saying to make it look more realistic. Better lighting and a little bit more foliage can add a lot to a game.

Might just be me though. I've played a very wide variety of games over the past 25 years so I tend to compare a bit lol

Sure the game needs to be optimized better but I feel overall that the game doesn’t need to take it a step further past epic. I also have a Beefy computer and can sit comfortably at epic but it lags horribly in kilima and sometimes bahari this game is the only one I tend to have issues with. Plus I don’t think they will stop development for switch because it was one of the first consoles to drop granted its a little limited. I honestly would like to see how highlands behaves via patch day

Hi guys, quick question, does the drop rate for the community board eggs change (higher/lower) depending on what you are hunting/mining/etc? like do chapaa's have a lower drop rate vs say muujin?

Not that I'm aware of, I'd assume drop rate (eggs/min) would increase with 1-shot animals like the sernuks and chapaa in kilima but purely because you can kill more in the same time

Are you looking at the shop you can access when talking to Tish? And is your furniture crafting level at least 3?

Also, to obtain the recipe for the banners specifically, craft other items from the Kilima set that you didn't craft yet and you'll eventually unlock it.

I see! You're running into an issue with inspiration then, whenever you craft an item that you didn't craft before you'll (with few exceptions) get a new recipe for that item's set. Usually, it lets you pick between a few recipes by having the outlines of the items appear as options over your head after crafting. For cooking, you can team up with others and that'll give you lots of XP, similar for bug catching and hunting. Parties are posted at #1445866314949202012 . For ranching, if you find someone who lets you collect their items, that's a fast way to level too. But overall, it's just a lot of patience unfortunately.

If you want to ignore horses entirely, rifrocs will be coming later as a mount (maybe paid tho)

I just hope they dont take it too far and add a bunch of regular animals, and rarely add new Palian ones
Especially since there are plenty of Palian ones with names but not models that could work in certain places
Like, for a long time Riffrocs were just kinda mentioned and only recently we got any art of them, the baby Riffrocs for ranching, etc

But yeah the droprate was kinda high, it was a long patch but understandable that it'd be harder for players who have less play time (though I don't play that much myself either)

From what we see all the new insects and fish appear to be just recolored versions of what we already have + there are way too little of them for how huge the Highlands are.
This is incredibly disappointing but I am not surprised considering they did the same with Elderwood too.
The foregeables are also pretty limited as well though they are actually unique.

Depends on your view on unique, most were modified to not be just a reskin.

also the mantas we can see in the materials provided in patchnotes and trailer share the exact same texture just in a different color... didn't even get their own unique textures like the current rays we have

For me it was the opposite tbh; I didn't finish the fishing one (altho i got all the eggs) bc I'm terrible at fishing and I have a really hard time with not reeling the fish in/clicking my mouse when the fish jumps out of the water. Bug catching was probably the easiest & I think it was the one I finished first; duskwing catching parties really helped me get the starred ones for the board & still have one to display at home & others to sell

I dont think we need to keep adding things people are forced to pay for to use. In the patchnotes it clearly states you only get 1 free horse to ride. Any others you breed you have to pay real money for riding liscences in the premium shop. So they lied to us in the video they released about it. We were told we would get to ride all horses we bred. Really disappointed in them.

Kenyatta and Nai'O are canon and most of the Humans dont want to get in the way of that
Theres one Human named Kai eho has a crush on Jina and eventually theyll go out, but theyre both super awkward
A lot of the Humans are dating eachother actually, and some were even dating or married before they arrived in Palia
Theres one girl named Kyla who ships people really hard and tries to get them together, and she ships Tish and Jel 🤣 and then other Human couples as well, like Roy and Holly, sometimes Tish gets involved with trying to get people together too lol
Hassian is an interesting case because he ends up with a select few close friends, but none of them have romantic chemistry? So im still not sure who he'd end up with, if anyone?
Etc etc...

Still also not sure who may end up with Hodari, but in chapter 3 he mentions a lot of people have called him hot 🤣 🤣 🤣 because one of the dialog options upon meeting him is like

My four ocs live in their own home, save for the McGowan brothers who share a house. Emmett has a big ole garden that attracts a lot of bugs, and Stanley don't like bugs. They all interact with each other when they learn there are more humans who live close enough. They especially work together during the plot of the game.

Yeah. ^^ Leona is seen like an older sister figure to Faelan, Emmett and Stanley and they love her cooking. Stanley is a terrible cook, so more often, Emmett and him go to the tavern or go to Leona. Leona having to teach these men how to cook for themselves lol. Leona goes to Faelan and Emmett for ingredients for her cooking.

I think 2 like to host? One of them specifically hosts like, desserts/baking ones, and rhe other typically does meatier things (literally)
Oh, and one of them is the guy who makes the chocolates Zeki sells! Because he was a chocolatier in his previous life
And likewise theres a brewer who sells to Ashura and Zeki's bars

And LOTS of humans who help the daiyas at their ranch or have their own! Theres a whole hunting team too, who do the rounds in each map on certain days

And in one of those works, i had an entire little town of about 125 people of all different demographics (age, race, etc)
So weve got actual farmers, ranchers, lumberjacks, masons, restauranteurs, barber/hairdressers, plumbers, electricians...
All who remember their skills over time and are able to contribute them to the community

My love, my life, my spreadsheets. What I do when I'm bored: take the math formulas I wrote for farming games like Stardew Valley and Coral Island, adjust them a bit, and apply them to Palia to figure out which crops are actually most profitable in terms of time and space.

Formula for gold per day per farm tile is

divided by
InitialGrowthDays + ((#Harvests - 1) x RegrowthDays))
all divided by
#FarmTiles```

Using this formula, turns out the most profitable crop is Bok Choy, taking 3 days to produce 2 crops sold for 30g each while taking up 1 tile: 
```1 x (30 x 2) = 60
3 + ((1 - 1) x 0)) = 3
(60 / 3) / 1 = 20.0g/tile/day```

Meanwhile, Batterfly Beans are the least profitable, taking 6 days to the first harvest followed by 2 days for three more harvests, producing 6 crops each time sold for 23g each while taking up 4 tiles:
```4 x (23 x 6) = 552
6 + ((4 - 1) x 2)) = 12
(552 / 12) / 4 = 11.5g/tile/day```

Next step, add in the star quality values, and then figure out the profits for preserves bin/seedmaker/worm farms

Tile per profit, profit per hour, preserves vs seeds, profit vs resource. Gardening is the most complicated skill in this game in terms of min/maxing as it also feeds into cooking so that can completely change your setup

Yeah, but I believe in the power of my spreadsheets 💪 I've already got the formulas written for cooking recipes to check profit per ingredient from Stardew cooking. My only problem with applying that to Palia is that the final dish value changes when one of the ingredients is "any X", that immediately makes it WAY more complicated, especially because the wiki doesn't list what those changes in values are so I can't just plug in the numbers, I'd have to find the formula the game is working off or cook all the variations myself to check

My eyes just skid over raw numbers, so I put any kind of numerical figuring into spreadsheets and then colour code it so I can just look for the pretty colours lmao. Tracking my paychecks against my hours worked so I can spot when I'm being shorted hours? Check. Deciding on what dress I want by listing the features of each dress and the colour scale gets greener the more of my desired traits are in one dress? Check. Tracking my bunnies' weights in a chart that auto-updates a line graph so I can visibly see if they're maintaining their weight? Check!

I submitted a bug report and they just got back to me, so if it's still bugged after the update hopefully I'll get a fix soon

The new update is really neat and all, but when we have major accessibility issues, bugs, glitches, broken cosmetics/premium items, and other myriad issues that get completely ignored just so they can keep pushing more bugged, broken updates out... yeah, not something I want to spend my money on, personally. But it runs so poorly on the Switch that I really can't tolerate playing anymore anyways.

You can ride the dawnspur after saving it. It took me a minute to figure out but open your character menu and you’ll see a saddle icon where you can equip pets, attachments, etc and you equip the horse there. Once it’s equipped, open your tool menu and the horse icon will be on the bottom. Press it (or hover) and he will spawn ♥️

didnt buy any dlc or something and i didnt even do any of the elderwood quests. and the mounts as per info given by the mods etc is: you must do before the dawn to access the area with the mounts and even be able to get and use a mount

and i didnt buy dlc cuz i REFUSE to pay for an overpriced DLC with the same price as the call of duty black ops series

if it was 10 or 15 i'd pay for it. but not 32 and 50+

I’m so sorry, I’m having trouble understanding your message. For the regular dawnspur, you don’t need any dlc or license. You do need to have Elderwood unlocked at least so you’re able to travel to the highlands then you can rescue the horse almost immediately and he’s yours. But you don’t have to pay anything unless you want the bundles

no i know that but according to the patch notes: "Before the Dawn" is a key quest in Palia that unlocks mounts and ranching mechanics, introduced with the Royal Highlands expansion. This quest allows players to start riding horses in the new zone and introduces the ability to raise and breed them, marking a new chapter in the game. well i pulled this of google but it still remains the same and i am only on answering the call

You can get the regular ones, and this one, using the in game currency at your barn. You just can't ride the phoenixfire out and about without buying the premium handler license

Lol same, I can’t get used to it at all. I just wish we could unbind the forward direction from accelerating and just use a different button for that. I just tend to go at full speed because I am used to press forward when running. 😖
