But I just feel kinda icky, and agree that it was someone trying to have some sort of reach ffor "witty description" as Moose put it. I feel like it wasn't complete ignorance-- maybe not knowing the 'practice', but at least knowing about the food itself. I don't know. I feel weird, and kinda gross about it.

I know at least for me, when I'm wanting to reference a food that I might know a little about, I end up googling and doing research. I would of hoped and hope that others would do the same, if theyre wanting to make a reference to something.

Which matches the in-game lore. Some NPCs find them adorable, while others are trying to fight their environmental impact. NO NPCs thus far show the... indifference towards cruelty required to make shark fin soup. Even Hassian preaches "balance."

when you buy the courier pack where you get the 4 slots, when its time to send things home does it do the entire row of 8? or is it every 4 slots every ten mins across the board for everything? especially with us buying 4 slots for money, I guess I wasn't sure how it works once everything is unlocked since I want to do that soon

i thought it was why they were putting so many different looking pets in the store, so that we buy one for each row and can alternate sending them all separately (however many slots they can carry at once) and then they each would have their own separate cooldowns if that makes sense

The summary of the whole situation (im bipartisan) is that usually when patching happems developers will release content to attract new people, and do fixes to retain old people. This is good because a positive fanbase will generate reviews and advertisement to get more people to play your game. This is an accepted stratergy that most gamers and developers are happy with.

In order to fix the problems with this game the developers would need to upgrade which means costs from profits. So instead they are pushing away from repairing old stuff to just making new stuff and the idea is that if they get enough new players they can create a revolving door of customers because the servers will be populated with people who want to buy cosmetics and help revenue instesd of people wjo have everything and complain. So the amount of twitch drops will increase, the amount of cosmetics will increase and they dont need to fix the game because they arent catering to keeping players anymore (because large amou t of players crash there servers)

Alot of these things are trivial and are actually symptoms of other problems. The telemetry internet issue is causing about 30% of the bugs purely because the timeout connection makes the server not ooad properly affecting visuals and spawns

A lot of the western market games are locked to the standard buff male figure and the slim busty female figure options for player models unfortunately. Palia is an odd one considering their focus on fashion and the premium store but but most of our options are limited from player model type, to base clothing, to even hair styles. I feel bad for all the newbies because there is a new trend where people won't even wait for the flow grove anymore. It doesn't affect me really cause I have them on my plot but thats the only way for newbies to get a lot of flow.

in bahari at midnight in game, somewhere on the map an area of the map's trees will be transformed into flow trees usually around 5-6 depending on the area. good servers and players will call out where it's located and then wait until a certain time (sometimes 3am) to allow others to get a chance to get the grove

You can't really get the full value of them until you upgrade your axe though. And they happen every midnight so there's always lots to go around

They aren't super rare or anything. They might be more 'uncommon', but you'll get the flow wood you need* eventually, at least.

• More flow wood is usually needed if youre really into crafting the decor items that require it, but other than that, you dont need a whole lot.

Like ppl mentioned, it's pretty much just decor. You can also gift them to some of the NPCs (like Tish). But most folks who dont want them just throw them out.

Just know that if you do that-- whether it's gifting or trashing them-- you can't get them back. The chests don't respawn or anything.

if you don't use your lock box very often, you can throw decor items into it. i stored all of my wallpaper and flooring into mine to separate them from my main storage

It's part of a quest you'll eventually get (I forget which one) it gives you a statue that you can "loot" once a day for a tree seed and a chance at a flow tree one. It does give you a seed after you water it to the final stage and a bit after.

And if there are people going into the files to try to figure it out, it's hard to talk about if it's true or not here because... it'd be, well, datamining (which you can't speak about here).

But the issue is the fact that players still don't know if it is intentional or not. Because there's no info. It wasn't mentioned in the patch notes whatsoever. I doubt people would get banned either, but people are still wary and think it's an "exploit" nonetheless because of the lack of transparency.

And I think the servers that is being mentioned is related to other palia-community discords. Not the game (at least that's how i read it)

And we've asked Lacie about more info about the Honey Lures, and afaik (unless something has changed), she said "I'll need to check and see if there's anything the team is willing to share." so..

Which is also why i'm a little surprised that nothing else has been stated about the honey lure changes. It's known that it's an issue and people don't know what is or isn't intentional, and people just want to know the changes.

"We changed how spawns are determined and rarity weighted in those spawns. In general - commons should be less likely, epics slightly more likely. Honey Lures can now also spawn secondary spawned insects (such as cicadas off trees)."

I've had a bit of a hiatus from the game for a while since moving, returned for good this week, and I can feel the influx of players for sure. Saw some players set up a honey lure and went to join, but got asked to leave, and I'm a little confused about that since I feel like the devs set up honey lures as a CO-OP activity. 🥴

Of course! When I was primarily a solo player I would ALWAYS use a smoke candle AND Sneaky Bombs. This was to 100% not spook bugs.
Hand dexterity issues make aiming at bugs difficult, particularly lots in quick succession and so many are lost when folks spook the bugs or take for themselves before I have time to react. X

If you want another take on this, I'm happy to give mine (although a bit late to the conversation.) Personally I only do honey lures with my husband because we are trying to collect specific bugs and we do not wish other players joining in. We don't catch every single bug that spawns unless it's one we like so if a person comes up catching bugs we are trying to scare off, it decreases our chances of getting the bugs we actually want to spawn.

It's a small difference I've noticed. My hubby and I scare off as many bugs as we can as fast as we can so that new ones can spawn. It does sometimes take time for a person to catch a bug so that bug is still included in the bug spawns of that lure. It's a small difference but it's still kinda annoying nonetheless because rare bugs are still rare.

I want the mmo it was originally supposed to be. If they want long term players they need to figure out what is supposed to keep them playing. Not endless plushie hunts. There should be group content including goals for us to work towards together, weekly/monthly goals for the community. Group events and challenges. Seasonal events that don't just involve a reskinned maji market or shop. But actually have seasonal quests. They are lucky that a lot of the player base seems to have quite low expectations but the content is seriously lacking once you catch up with main story quests.

Actually they originally did talk about adding light combat. A lot of cozy games have combat so the two aren't mutually exclusive. Unfortunately the game seems to be going in a different direction now due to the type of player base they have ended up with. Send feedback if it's something you like. That was a long time ago and from some updates since then they have given the impression they won't be adding it any time soon.

You only have to look at the chaos that happened when temple of the gales released. So many people complaining it was too hard, they got lost, couldn't find eggs, couldn't use the gliding mechanic etc. there was a large portion of the player base that had some kind of issue with it. Personally I find it hard to comprehend as compared to most games palia has nothing that I would consider close to a challenge. But a lot did. I can't begin to imagine what would happen if even the most simple of combat was added.

Oh I see now yeah that's really sad. I wish they still planned on adding those features for "advanced" players😂 it's slightly frustrating that they'd just give up on it after a little pushback. Especially if it was gonna be optional content. There's still hope tho since the game is still in pre-release. No one can say for sure what they will or won't add.

My guess is they're delaying the sales bc the Northern Warrior outfit is bugged when you buy it, and has components that remain locked after purchase. Hopefully they fix that, because that's annoying for the folks who bought the fit!

It isn't. The courier function is available after completing a quest. The only thing locked behind FP is the 4 extra slots.

All pets have access to the function, it's not tied to one specific pet.

Anyone getting any shmole plushies lately? Me and some friends used 1000s of arows and got zero plushes today, and he said he has done the same several times in last few days.... same result. Same thing happened to my discord community today on their Shmole hunt. We normally average 4 to 6, or more on a very good day, during a community event. One group got zero, another got one. It was definitely very unusual.

They also severely nerfed the frog plushies, so wouldn't be surprised if the shmoles somehow got affected too.
