Yeah just would be nice to know for the newer players to know you need practically 2 of all the stations to get specific quests or recipes done lol. Just was a bit frustrated because I had no idea on why my mixing station wasn't working.

we're hoping for a hot fix for the major plot issue, it's the magnitude they try to fix in the first few days (of course we're after business hours for today and only 1 work day left in the week)

the switch update might be the one that broke the most, don't remember if that was also the like 16 hour downtime day

Yeppp, and yet you will still hear people give you the "it's in beta" if you try to point it out. I give them slack in some areas but it's hard to do sometimes when some stuff just keeps happening and specially with stuff that's been affecting player's health (i.e the snowball flash)

Tbf, I'm running on steam too and there are definitely bugs present with quests not appearing correctly or exclamation signs that you can't interact with or don't do anything. So I wouldnt know if it's just a "console" thing. Another friend on PC is experiencing the same.

The crafting recipe for palium chest takes 1 iron chest, 3 palium bars and 20 ancient wood planks.
Keep in mind that you are only allowed 8 chests per all plots now so you'll have to remove the extras

Considering I think the limit for house plots is 10 or 11 ( My mother currently has 10 ) 8 storage and 3 locked boxes is enough to distribute across the lots for storage access as you can switch between them.

That said, we just went through mum's lots and tallied up the storage boxes she has and even though we can only see 7 storage and 2 locked boxes she has the full 14k and 300 slots available. Weird huh. Obviously after picking up the excess.

I personally haven't braved visiting my busy lots. Seeing my aquarium lot messed up so horrendously almost gave me a heart attack on its own

It's also possible that this was a side effect change to the lot changes they did similar to the messing up of items in your buildings. As they did discuss storage boxes and didn't mention that change.

I mean, removing the arbitrary chest limit would be the easiest solve. Count the 8 highest leveled chests for storage. The others are just access points. So a player could hide whatever tier might not look good to them and have copper or iron instead.

I can understand in a sense of what you're meaning. Like, yes, in theory, you are right. However, like you've also stated, there's some busy plots that some people have made. Plus, some folks have dedicated cooking plots.

It's just the ease of access and in a sense, accessibility, to be able to get to specific chests on each plot. It's why it's helpful to have more. Be able to have one easily by your crops, cooking station/party area, crafting, or just in a room or two that are on tons of other plots.

And admittedly, it might just be troublesome to continuously change plots to access storage. Sometimes you're just wanting to craft something on a plot that you're working on, instead of going back and forth. It genuinely is the fact that it would just make things better and more helpful in those cases.

A forest plot or flower plot (one where it's just those, I am assuming?) probably wouldn't need it, yes, but there are also some folks who might still want it because of the ease of access. It was something that, I'd imagine, was very good quality of life.

I am assuming when they fixed the global actors for stuff tho, that is probably what messed up (or fixed?) the chest stuff though, yeah

I have a flower plot simply because the images don't match growth so seedlings, flowers that haven't produced a seed and already picked seed flowers all look the same in the chest but different stacks. Palia isn't great at giving us preview images that match the items e.g. furniture and even food ( some may show a bowl or a pot but end up on a plate).

It's not a proper fix at all because it's so so inconvenient and doesn't fix the appearance bit, but

• both sets of storage are accessible from lockboxes, chests, and the shipping bin - so every plot automatically has one access point at the mail box and then you have 11 more that are placable
• you can access limited related storage from each crafter

There are currently 3 quests I can’t finish. Knowledge sleuth - Caleri doesn’t appear in restricted section of the library after 10 pm. She goes there at 1 am but when I enter behind her, she’s not there. Talking to her through the door doesn’t trigger quest dialogue either.

I can’t even start A Pumpeous Tale, there is no quest mark above Caleri’s head, and no quest dialogue when I talk to her. I tried talking to her in library, through the door to restricted desction, in Elderwood, Maji Market and made no difference.

Even more treasure? I have to find Tau and Hassian in Elderwood to proceed but again, there is no quest dialogue when I talk to them in Elderwood

When it comes to A Pompous Tale not everyone experiences this and I thought that it was connected to Knowledge Sleuth issue but one player said they have completed Knowledge Sleuth and a pompeous tale quest doesn’t trigger for them

Is it just me, or did the latest update break a lot of things in the game? I've been completely unable to connect from the home screen, and when I finally managed to after several attempts, I couldn't travel to my home plot.

Earlier today, I kept picking up lockets, and now my quest inventory is completely full. Also, today I decided I'm going to find every single chest in Bahari (I counted!), but the achievement still hasn't popped.

These bugs feel genuinely game-breaking, and I really hope they're fixed soon, because right now the game feels unplayable. Even if they are fixed, I'm worried I might be permanently locked out of some achievements unless chests respawn, which I don't believe they do?

Hey Lacie! So currently, chests are capped at 8 around all plots. Previously, you were able to have 8 chests per plot, but now people are finding that if they pick up a chest to upgrade it, if they are over the limit, they can't place more down.

I probably explained it badly, but if someone can provide a better explanation as well.

But for example, like Moose explained here, many players used to have multiple chests around different plots for ease of access to resources, or simply for decorating purposes #💬│palia-discussions message

It's not always not working. It works perfectly fine in Kilima and Bahari, but i had issues in the past (different error) when in Elderwood. It's frustrating, but I work around it and don't try to be upset. It's a newer feature and I force myself to be patient (and send an error report, of course)
Edit: I only tried it once since the update, didn't play much yet, so i don't know if i am still bugged. I'll check it out if i play again later and try and give an update (if i remember)

Can I just say, especially with Elderwood and how adamant they are about spoilers on discord, It frustrates me that there is no spoiler function in the game. I know some people want help, but I'm sick of having things spoiled for me in the chat when I want to figure it out myself. People are like"how do I do x quest?" "Where is y?" and any complaint about it gets yelled at. I shouldn't have to turn off server chat to avoid it.

We really need at least reminders in the load screens or elsewhere to be mindful of that, and maybe a function where people can whisper without being friends if they want to share that. Or a "spoilers" channel you can turn off.

The need for instant gratification is definitely pretty pervasive in a lot of games these days, so yeah people tend to ask for a lot of guidance and expect things to be given to them right away. I will say that, while I understand your issues with it, Palia is pretty much THE game for someone who desires instant gratification so I'm not surprised to hear there's a lot of spoiler questions already for the new content.

Not really. Glitches can be used to exploit. Depends on the use or outcome really. I'm not saying what people are doing is wrong necessarily and obvs S6 are fine with it. But if a similar technique was used to dupe an item rather than just place it somewhere it shouldn't be you can bet they wouldn't be calling it 'creative'.

But yeah I agree it's nothing to do with glitches. I don't do it as I can't get my head around it and my plots are a mess

The use and outcome is exactly the difference between a glitch and an exploit though.

They should just add a freeform decor mode that allows placing items like that without silly workarounds. Just a mode that removes all building constraints

Yep I agree. The whole housing system needs redoing. Hopefully looking at the recent video we just get Walls roof pieces etc and can build as we like the same as most games rather than this modular system. They really should change the item placement too. And in an ideal world I want to be able to decorate the full plot. I don't bother buying any landscapes because it's just cosmetics. I want to be able to decorate little forest areas and beaches etc.

It's honestly weird. My main plot has some glitching but it's fine, but the plot that has no glitching is the one that's acting up. Same for a friend, his main plot with basically no glitching is a mess while the one that heavily uses merging is untouched.

That is a flare. it is marking a goodie. Gold ore, flow tree, etc. if you see it you should make your way over there and grab/mine it.

yeah and based on achievements you can tell how many shrines and furniture there are, so if u have 10 on map, but it says 15, u know u gotta find 5 more. for chests you can also see how many there are on the map in achievements, so easiest way is to track how many chests youve already picked up

i admittedly struggle with not knowing where i want them to go with the game, so i imagine it’s hard for them as well. i wonder how big they want to make the world. there’s so much potential lore-wise. but i also want what exists to be elaborated on. i’ve been playing so long i forget there really is a lot of content main story and side quest-wise. just falls off so fast once you’ve done everything, especially if you did it all in parallel.

i often feel the same tbh! i think there’s a very obvious main storyline thread they keep pulling, and the friendship/romance quests are a pretty well established mechanic in games, and the side quests are fine (albeit RNG was always quite favorable to me, so i understand this is very much not the case for most folks.) but the group activities there are are usually player-organized.

they’ve taken a step back from the mmo term though, WizardCrab i think was in here a few months ago saying as much. it definitely feels like it has an identity struggle in that regard. it says, “play how you want”, but there are definite advantages to playing in a party. yet not advantageous enough for it to really be like an MMO for me.

(sorry I went afk for a bit) I definitely agree with this, I very much enjoy many aspects of the game, but I certainly can see there's a bit of a struggle of where they want it to head next. I admitedly have skipped a good bit of the story and dialogues, but it's also because so much of it feels, a bit hollow? Speaking of socializing. I just did a Pixy bounce thing solo. It was a full server. Just no one showed up.
They went to opposite direction with this one, compared to Flow. The rewards just aren't that "required". They're just flowers. It seems that most people are opting to skip this event, and it's making the event harder.

if they’re pushing players to socialize, i would say utilize that bulletin board in the middle of kilima town square that does nothing (and add one to each map) to be a “looking for party” mechanism. someone posts “looking to farm for muujin plushies”, and if you want to join, you select the post and it auto adds you to the person’s party. then i can post, “looking to do just group weeklies”, party up to do the “(skill) with a group” weeklies, then just disband and play solo again.

it's probably been fixed, because @north pilot (sorry for the ping) did tests and they discovered that the crops don't grow (or grow in reverse) if you have 9 weeds on you plots. i've experienced it as well when i tried to do the no weed block because of weeds. when they put in a ticket their response was "it's working as intended, you're suppose to weed the garden"

if ur on plot it grows but if u log out or leave plot and come back it revert back to the previous growtht ick sugegsting that it just didnt save (and i kept having cant load playerdata errors crashing my client after that nonstop)

but if it grows u ad or remove fert pluck a weed or water something / harvest / plant something / probs rmeove a plant but why u do that it will save it and it stays

but this still means u miss out on ALOT of growthticks like ur offline single one and ur off plot ones and u have to interact with stuff to make it actually save might aswell water it or pluck a weed at that point

poeple who got a problem with this are mostly those like me trying to cheese weeds by strategic weedplacement
or poeple who have like that one decorative apple tree on another plot and suddenly cant farm and dont know why

My second plot lost all the furniture inside the two rooms I have. All my plushies too. The furniture I had outside is still there. I’m just glad I only have one other plot. Specifically fishing imo is easier on the switch due to no drift on your bobber when switching direction, but EVERYTHING ELSE is better on PC. Especially hunting. Hunting is sadly borderline unplayable on the switch. I used to only play switch but I started loving myself. 🥹

Depends on your playstyle, Bag of Illusions is better if you're solo and don't want to grind for mats, Brighteye Amulet for collecting essence.

Yeah, you can only equip one at a time, but if you're in a party with someone, you'll get the benefits from the relic they have equipped.

I run around solo 99.98% of the time.

Maybe more like 99.99%.

I'd really say it depends, I go with Bag of Illusions to || forego the need to use the potions and elderwood ammo|| but that's just my playstyle.

If you're really trying to grind for essence, then the Brighteye might be best.
