Oh yes same, almost 5am. I have the wooded skin, and there is that log tunnel leading to a large river, with green on the other side, and a hill that leads to nothing, since the bahari gate is on the ground. Allow for increased placement area in those spaces.

I think another thing to consider is the general Xbox audience is a bit "rougher," and a lot of new players came into the discord and were cussing, degrading others, threatening to expose/hack, etc. Just happened this morning too (the hacking threats). One gentleman posted a video calling the discord degrading names based on their diagnoses. It's been wild in the server this week lol.

the grove for the flowers in elderwood should not be as bad as the flowtree grove I guess
depending on how it will work

but I feel like S6 did a good job on Elderwood bcs I see barely any etiquette about stuff in elderwood, like at all

elderflower is fine imo, their respawn timer seems to be something like 7 minutes or less

• dowsing rod helps a lot with lotus (and well elderflower as well but their spawnpoints are just the big trees anyways)

So no you wont necessarily as long as you keep an eye on that bar for durability and when it "breaks" itll just go back down a level so to speak and will cost mats when you need to upgrade it back again

testing old world fishing atm (with the changes) it's not good

literally no change in chance for epics/rares (glow worms), less exp per fish thanks to the nerfs

using bahari coast due to lots of pools, uncommons yield 54 less exp, commons yield 30 less exp, chance for anything more than those 2 remains no different

so EW docks fishing test (glow worms), if you can muster the willpower for the constant jumping, a stack of common star jellies is 130 exp each (+62 exp in comparison to bahari) and sell for 825g per stack of 5 (+75g compared to bahari)

lake sharks however are 258 exp (+over a 100 exp more than uncommons in bahari) and sell for 1350g per stack of 5

downside, 0 or next to no rares/epics due to how they've been implemented

another downside are infected pools not giving stars, intended or not, who knows

As someone that's on discord a lot and moderated / worked on a few large servers, people leaving a discord is not the biggest sign - it's a lack of new people chatting and there only being regulars. When there's still people coming in and chatting or asking questions things are still going fine. Games have peaks and troughs in playerbase - it's probably peaking a bit now because of the new content. This is perfectly normal

I have to say, I think net hunting could be a cool addition. I would love to net hunt ogopuu and keep a gold star one free range in my home pond. I don't like that death is the only outcome of the hunt, when sometimes, it's not.
Plumehounds would be excellent pet additions but it's been so long since I met Tau I don't remember why he was considered rare.
I've also noticed a few people talking about silverwings, like Najuma, but I don't think I've seen one, are they actually in game? Or just the eggs?

You have to get a fair way through the pre elderwood release main quest line (but not required to be completed for the new stuff) I think before you can access them. You have to provide a bunch of different materials from all skills to complete 4 bundles. I haven't finished them all yet so not sure what happens after!

a. there are 2x2 and 3x3 plants that take up an obnoxious amount of space. The 2x2 especially irritates me because plots are 3x3.
b. farming can generate cash, yes, but we also NEED it for cooking, so it ties into another skill.
Addendum: agree with the above comment that farming is super slow compared to everything else. Especially if you pickle/jam.

I don't think there's any need to make crops grow any faster than they currently do, unless speedy fertilizer is added back. I was sad to see that go, since it was a bonus that you had to produce, not buy, thus adding to the interaction.

Yeah I think the balance of crop grow times is fine as it is (shorter for the beginner crops like carrots and longer for endgame stuff like apples). I guess what I want is not to have to rely so much on pickles and jams to profit off farming, especially when the wait times for a lot of them just don't make sense to me. Right now pickling feels like too much of a necessity I guess(?) Idk how to word it. But I feel like if I took all my apples and blueberries and used them in cake parties instead of turning them into jam, I could make more money in less time (someone could correct me on this if I'm wrong).

Another thing that annoys me a little is that with other games of this genre it feels like I'm encouraged to make money/grind for resources, but with Palia it feels like the opposite. Make money, but not that much. Get resources, but not too many.

Because that's reality. If you harvest a lot, you have to have storage. No storage? You don't harvest. Stardew isn't realistic for a one person farm to be raking in 9mill a weekend or similar. I like that this feels more balanced.

It's nice to know and stuff that some people do, and that they enjoy that!)

And with Stardew, no, that isn't realistic with what youre saying, however, it's something that players have to really work towards and grind to do. It isnt something that people can do overnight-- it's just.. an endgame goal that people like to try to reach and achieve.

Catching rare and epic bugs in Kilima and Bahari is the only way so far. Best to use buzzy jars and run laps through all the map from north to south Bahari, I found naturally spawned bugs are more abundant than force spawn from forage and mining

There's definitely tweaks that can be made. My comment was in response to Tempest's annoyance that this game doesn't reward heavy grinding the same way (I think that was what was meant) and it's an aspect I quite enjoy. • pool spawn timer still not fast enough (comparing to bahari for both)

literally no point fishing there unless you must have a specific fish, even then RNG is too insane

the kilima commons (glow worm ones above) also sell for less than bahari commons per stack, by 40g

Hello everyone, even though this question may have already been asked: The courier pets can only be purchased, correct? There are no free pets, right? I'm asking because some German players were wondering why this new “option” probably won't be available to everyone, e.g. if they don't have a pet. S6 advertises that all in-game purchases are purely cosmetic, which is rather unusual for an MMO. However, this would definitely no longer be the case with courier pets. Personally, I don't think this is a big deal, but perhaps it should be clarified that the ideology of “no advantage through in-game purchases” no longer applies in the case of courier pets? S6 should communicate this as clearly as possible and provide an explanation. If I have misunderstood something, please let me know. Thank you!

I think that's a case of when a lure gets dropped, it kind of feels like free game bc there's SO many bugs and it would be impossible to get them all alone, and once a honey lure is out already, ppl are overwhelmed by the catching of bugs and aren't paying attention to the chat. I do understand the frustration though.
I'd suggest possibly announcing you want to use a honey lure (perhaps even state if your goal is to get a specific bug/seed drop/plush drop) and ask if anyone wants to join a party first so you can all benefit from the bugs you catch and work together to get the specific drop you are hoping for.

I was waving at them and doing everything I could to get their attention, and they ran off immediately when it ended so I think they knew. There's also a ton of new players who may not know what luring parties are... They see shiny yellow light and lots of special bugs and start going ham. It's frustrating and hard for sure though.

You can also block those people so you're less likely to end up with them on a server, if you want to do that route. Sometimes it may be worth it if you have a chronic follower/poacher.

We go to Elderwood, and we progress the main story, which is nice. However, that lasted about two days, and now I'm wondering why I'd even both going back to Elderwoods. Particularly why would I bother farming for these relics?

Relics make it easier to farm essence, but why do I care about essence? I got enough of the essence to collect all of the furniture items, but I did this simply for the sake of collecting them. I really don't have any desire to craft them. I don't care for their esthetic really.

In any case, after buying all of the furniture with the essence just to say I did, then what? Why do I care to collect this stuff? If I don't care to collect it, why do I care to do the relics? Am I missing something?

No, you need to capture the infected animals for achievements. So if you don't want to use special EW ammo, the illusions relic aids you in that to hunt infected creatures without that use. So if you like hunting/fishing/bugging and want to capture them all and not have to avoid the infected creatures or use special ammo, finishing that relic helps you carry on as normal

The achievements for the infected creatures reward us with renown... what do we do with renown? I'm nearly capped.

The essence is also used to buy things in the EW shops you need to finish the shrines as well, so it serves a purpose there, and helps you buy mystery bags (which have some quests in them) and buys the new pumpkin seeds.

At a certain point, sure, the essence may not be needed in the stores once you hit your caps and you have completed your relics up to Tier 4, but who knows what it may be used for the future.

500 essence is all you need to get the one seed you need to start making pumpkins.

But there's an achievement to collect 50k of it, so they certainly expect people to just farm it like mad, but... why?

I think Theo's overall point is that the concept of essence feels pretty circular at the moment, having to grind for essence to acquire artifacts that help you get... more essence.

The essence also serves the purposes of pushing the quests forward. So if you've blown through your quests and don't care to hunt all available creatures/fish/bugs or get party buffs, makes total sense why it feels pointless for that specific resource.

just bouncing in, skimming over chat, and sharing my thoughts on essence: The gameplay loop around essence is fairly sound, but it loops back into itself too much (relics dont have any major use outside of helping you get more essence) and the only other thing you can really spend it on that isn't obtainable elsewhere is.... home decor/recipes.
Needs more variety in rewards IMHO.

Also I really want to see relics get options that work everywhere, too, not just in EW itself
I'd love to see a relic that les you track rare bugs or huntables without having to use consumables, or a relic that works like a perma- safe zone increase fishing lure, or even something like, say, a "stealth" relic that lets you walk around animals/insects without scaring them

It's extremely concerning that they haven't fixed or even addressed the current "problem" that's ruining the entire new zone experience. Brand new players like me have no need for gold or essence anymore. And for anyone who's not just in game to talk to people have nothing left to do after a few hours.

Oh I know I spent my first 5 days grinding way too much but actually having fun. Almost completed everything. But 1 day of doing that stuff just ruined it for me. I don't usually get salty about this stuff but it felt really terrible

To sum my thoughts up: For people who enjoy the aspect of visual progression+ showing off accomplishments, this game has virtually nothing that would appeal to that type of audience.

you can't show off accomplishments through home decor- not without having to basically ask someone to go and look at it. "come check out my trophy room" is... not something I would ever ask someone because it feels really... vain??? to me?
you can't show off accomplishments through character cosmetics at all because non-default character customization is 99.9% paywalled. There is no sense of accomplishment in showing off premium items.
Even relics don't have any visuals that inform you of what someone is using- I earned the illusion bag IV but no one who could actually benefit from partying up with me would ever think to ask, because they dont even know I'm using it. 😔

This is my primary method for hunting, it has definitely saved me frustration, now if only I could stop people from spooking them as they try to get a hit on them too. I don't mind sharing but don't ruin my hunt by running up on them or getting to close . I had to move to a different location when I was hunting ogapuus today. This method def helps with getting the magical creatures especially the one that runs up a tree. Since I'm a mainly solo player it's derpy to quickly change between skills. Now if only there was such were such a method for the tree/mining forged bugs. I've been getting in the habit of pausing for a few seconds after I chop down/mine nodes. They seem to only spook if you move or go to grab loot.

I personally haven't experienced many crashes (this patch, at least) but it does seem like a persistent issue overall. The recommendation I've seen most often is to verify if your graphic drivers are updated, since it seems this game is very finicky with that.

I'd also recommend trying to launch the game through the Nvidia app or GFN if you're able, it seems to help for some people! But if the issues persist, maybe you can find some more help in #💻│tech-help

The minor and animal NPCs can't be a Shepp and you can only acquire a Shepp when they are at Level 4 or higher. So it could be that you need to progress friendships on some NPCs past level 4, give it a few real life days after that, and the options should come back. Looking at trouble shooting across the internet for others, this has worked for them.

To confirm, you have NPCs who are not at level 4 but could be your Shepp potentially once you progress them to or past level 4, correct? Or did I misunderstand your prior comment and what it meant, as I took it to mean you only have 2 to 3 NPCs at level 4 friendships, (but there are many more to do).

There was an optionv to ask them to be a shepp at friendship 3, but after asking them at 3 that option is now permanently gone. So I cant progress " find your shepp" main quest

The NPC has to be at friendship level 4 to be a Shepp. They cannot accept to be a Shepp before that. Is your NPCs at friendships level 4?

The option is likely to return after you have gotten them to level 4. This has worked for others in your situation.

The option is not there even at 4 friend an 2 romance. And the quest option os gone from Tish even though she keeps sending a latter every day "come, I need your help"

Probably the best solution for you is to let go of Tish and focus on another character who can be progressed to Level 4 who is not already at Level 4. Many others with your issue progressed their NPC to Level 4 and had the option to ask for Shepp return after that friendship was leveled up.

Since you've already reported the Tish specific issue as a bug from what you've shared, that's been taken care of too.

the problem with Tish is that she depends on your friendship with Reth AND Zeki, so you have to level them to 4 too. Im not sure if this might be your issue or not but all 3 of them have interactions together once u get all 3 to lvl 4

Thevshepp dialogue option appears at friendship 2 they just answer no and it never comes up again. I guess I'll have to get everyone to andthen make another support ticket if it doesnt work.

You have to get the NPC to the level 4 to be a Shepp. Work on your friendships and get them up to level 4. It doesn't matter that they rejected your request at level 2 and level 3, the Find Your Shepp Quest requires the NPC be at level 4. You have many NPCs you do not have at level 4. Max out your friendships. You will be able to ask someone to be a Shepp.

I mean this genuinely, what are you not understanding about the requirements of the NPC needing to be at Level 4 in order for the Shepp request dialogue to return as an option? You must level up the friendships, the dialogue option will not return before that on NPC you asked prior.

No NPC will accept before level 4. Level up your remaining NPCs to have the opportunity to ask for Shepp so you can complete the quest.

when you get the shepp quest all the NPCs will say no unless you have them at level 4 friendship. you can talk to them about it but you will never be able to get a YES from them unless they are level 4. The quest is made that way

When you get back home, can you check who specifically you had at level 4? I don't think just anyone can be shepp. Eshe for instance will refuse even at level 4, saying she's too busy, and Auni is too young, and I don't think Subira is even considered a member of the community, just a guest. And if you got the reward for their level 4 friendship quest? (completing this is also required)

if u like decorating then its definitely worth playing

u basically have a "few" quests u can follow and a main story
u can befriend villagers
and gather ressources to build ur home
(there are also some players who don't like decorating but just enjoy doing the skills e.g. hunting and fishing)

there is not necessarily an actual end bcs the game is run as a live service game so we will get new updates every month with new furniture, quests etc.

Was it the Blue Scale? They might have been talking about the Sacred Flower? You need 20 to complete your offerings through the map and the game is only providing 19 to most players. Most of my friends are stuck on this. I somehow ended up with 22 flowers so I'm not sure if it was rng provided or if I had 2x pickup or 2x hunting party buffs?

I personally can't believe people are taking the Blue Scale not dropping to reddit 👀 like it's not even as hard to acquire as a plush.

Are you logging from steam? Had a friend hit by the same, only solution for them was to reinstall the original launcher other than that the only solution I've heard is to keep spamming log in. Definitely a reoccurring issue though, no idea if there's any solution beyond that

to complete the friendship level 4 quest you have to have reached level 3 friendship with the paired NPC if they exist, yeah. But I'm pretty sure that is a requirement for the level 4 quest not just Sheppness.

And I found the very first thing I don't like about this game.

There is no way to play this game privately, all of your friends will know when you hop on whenever you do, and your friends can join you unannounced without asking for permission whenever they feel like it in your homestead.

Has there been any talk of changing this or like a permission system/ invite system??
