The game is great for newer players, but when you’ve been playing since launch, and haven’t had a quest in half a year, that’s a bit ridiculous. Especially, since we’ve had several updates in 2024 alone.

Not sure how long you've been playing but unfortunately this has been the state of the game for months and months and pretty much everything people think S6 should be done to improve the game has been suggested many many times already. I was hard core playing for since open beta last year, was even finding ways to enjoy the grind, had fun with the friends I found, but I just gave up and rarely play, though I'll come back for Maji Market - whenever we get that - Palia had such an amazing start, so beautiful and fun, so much potential, but looking back cracks in the game pretty much started showing last October and it's been a lot of downhill since then.

Tbh it's a little ignorant if you think the team who designs premium store outfits is the same team tho handles big fixes/troubleshooting/coding/programming.

I just really think they had financial problems long before open beta and they opened the gates last August either hoping for a large influx of players in August and then in Dec with Switch to either save them, attract more investor money, and/or set up to sell off (which is what ultimately happened)

I think my fave part of the dialogue for Kenyatta's romance line... ||is her considering breaking up with Nai'o, but you can convince her to be in a throuple with you and Nai'o instead. The blatantly obvious Poly-inclusivity is nice to see. I mean I know we can romance them all at the same time and what not, but its more obvious in that dialogue||

I'm hoping we get another Maji Market come Oct. I feel like its a perfect ingame event for a "Fall Festival"

There's some nuance to it, I think. People might also say "eccentric aunt". Just depends on how you use those sort of words. Some people might love to be called it and others might find it offensive. Kooky has a connotation of "crazy" and "quirky". Crazy is a bit offensive. But yeah, it depends a lot on the situation/people involved

I think September is the better month for the harvest Maji Market if only to allow some time between Markets esp if they plan on keeping the Lunar New Year market. Last year it began the end of August and ran for a month

Dynamic weather is a resource hog. But I wish they would change the look of at least Kilima to reflect seasons. The snow piles they plopped around Kilima village last winter was not a good attempt at portraying winter

with building friendship with villagers, farming and the other usual "cozy" activities like fishing and bug catching etc.

they acknowledged that we want quests and said they will deliver quests, but it takes time
this patch is just a filler but at least the next one should be better with maji market (which is basically confirmed bcs they said late summer or early fall, won't happen this patch so it should happen early fall which will be the patch end of september)
and then we will also get another story update between now and the elderwoods (so probably towards the end of the year but thats just my personal assumption, bcs they wouldn’t drop story update after story update )

these "filler" updates are alright for those who are starting out, or who are just now getting into the decorating scene because they can integrate the new items more easily than those who have had their plots set up and maxed out for a long period of time. but, for the older players, those that have done everything the game has to offer, these filler updates are not really enough to keep them with the game, which when you have a live system, you need to keep your player base interested so that the game doesn't fall to the back burner and forgotten

That's really the issue. Nothing that I can think of TBH. Perhaps being able to share plots with another person. Make leveling up worth something instead of just a number. Community activities with real rewards. For a coop game (it's not really a mmo) you don't even need to do that beyond the growing furniture.

and while i know it would take some time to implement, i still think following animal crossing's event style would be the ultimate way to bring/keep players interested. i know i've mentioned that npc's have mentioned traveling bards, why can't we steal borrow K.K Slider from animal crossing where every saturday for s6 a bard will show up at the inn and play music for a crowd, give us some dance emotes and let us all hang out from 6pm to 3am. maybe have a boat or something show up at that dock in kilima that will take players to a mini-game server where players can play mini games like hide and seek, group fishing or bug catching. just little fun things to keep the players interested instead of "here, be happy with a new set of furniture, plushies that you will probably never see if you're unlucky, oh and don't forget to spend you hard earned money on these clothes"

That's a quest item. Bobbers are cosmetic and don't affect the fishing mechanics.

My biggest frustration right now is this newly frequent thing of small groups of people coordinating their efforts to cut down the flow tree groves as quickly as possible without sharing with the whole server. It's happening more and more often and it just makes me sad, this isn't what the community was like, even a few months ago. There is no advantage except saving a little bit of time, I just find it so selfish.

And as a community, if we collectively call out that bad behaviour, we have a better chance of, at the very least, finding like-minded people to play with. Groves are literally the only part of the game meant to bring everyone on a server together, to divide the work and multiply the profits. Most people seem to want to keep it that way,

I posted a comment to r/Palia following up on someone else's about hotpot on an unrelated post almost a month ago and just got this barrage of replies from this random person over the past couple days. That's a hot take, lol. Sometimes you get into a good rhythm with one group of people and you don't want to switch tables. If there are open spots elsewhere (which, in my experience, there always have been) it's just rude to jump in and take someone's seat at a table where 4 people have established a group. Not sure if this is the right channel, but has anyone else noticed that daily gifts are kind of messed up? Usually the daily gift timer resets every sun cycle, but now for some NPCs it takes 2-3 or more sun cycles before I can gift again. And some NPCs won't even let me give gifts at all. And it's not because I'm at the max friendship level with them. Not sure if this is a known bug or change to the gifting system or what, but I feel like I'm going crazy trying to get friendship levels up for quests and can't do it.

yeah, try romancing these guys. the only ways to raise it is by giving chocolate or heartdrop lilies, which you can only give once a week, and then flirt with them every palian day. i'm literally camping out over by the lagoon while diamond painting to try to raise einar up

yeah, you can gift them chocolates or heartdrop lilies once a week to help with the increase of it. it counts as your daily gift, i usually try to do it the beginning of the week to get it out of the way. though i'm not sure if you can give both items the same week as i have no heartdrops

another idea, and one i fully support, make the nameplates achievements like they did with the coffee cups. give 10/50/200 (or heck up the amounts) of a certain reaction to plots to unlock just the nameplates, no renown, no tour tickets, just nameplates. that way you can decide what to give different plots instead of what the owner wants, because imma be real, i don't think a single frogbert plushie on a plot is "magical"

Any ore that is obtainable really should spawn as an ore of it's own kind, rather than getting lucky to get 1 gold here and there from iron

Talk to them every time you pass them each in game day . Gift them something they like every irl day, like flowers, seeds or ore, not just there weekly wants. And starstones count as a loved gift. Depending on how much you play and who you want you should be able to get a Shepp in a matter of weeks if you want one quickly.

That is really unluck rng. I think drop chance is better for large iron ore, like silver is for large copper ore. how high is your mining skill? And have you upgraded your pick. I'm finding gold and silver drops are better since reaching lvl 10 with palium pick, but that may just be coincidence.

If you're not lucking out in one server, I highly recommend travelling home and reloading into a new one. Some servers have more large irons and palium than others anlt any given time! Plus it breaks up the monotony of the grind

Palia is v separate from Nintendo, so any updates won’t be tied to Directs. Switch is also probably going to be replaced by its next gen console v soon. Anything about Palia (or probably any game that isn’t a Switch exclusive, barring some updates to other smaller ones) in a Direct is not going to be anything exclusive to Switch.

That being said, it’s very easy to switch (hehe) between the console and PC, and even use the pro controller. It’s gotten so unusable on Switch that I was forced to start using PC. But GEForce is an excellent option if you think your computer/laptop if you have one can’t handle Palia on its own. I have a release date Switch so I’m sure the hardware is lacking, but it’s been miserable trying to use it to play since a couple updates ago.

If im being realistic, I think they won’t optimize for Switch anymore soon, and kind of haven’t for a while. the hardware just can’t take it. But I hope people here can help you find other avenues to play it if you have a laptop/desktop and have been Switch exclusive!

I need to know on the topic of hunting: does anyone else struggle hardcore with or am I just really bad 😅 I go through SO MANY arrows just trying to hit a few lol. I use I think the fine arrow bc they do more damage but maybe I need to try the slow arrow again. The thing about those is that it's just the normal model with a "shader" (the animation they have is called a shader), which is like uh.. same model but some parts are transparent and the animation is a flat image that moves. The last ones, the "Iridescent glow" ones look awful and the animation goes too fast imo... But yeah, ofc they're gonna be cheaper, but i'd expect for these modeled ones to be like 5 more dollars for the full set or something, not triple the price...

Happened a couple of updates to many of us. I know most of my friends have the same issue.

So, the whole idea would be implementing Plumehounds in the game as a free feature. Something that all players can get through a quest, maybe with some requirements (like reaching a certain point in the main story, or something).

This would work like this:

We can acquire a pet house for our plot, where we can have our cute little Plumehound.
They'd have two features:
1- You can take it with you around the map as a "helper" (it could help you gather loot, or bark at rare nodes for example). Just like a pet but useful.
2- When you don't take it with you, it can be around your plot, near the house, sleeping or running around, ORRRRR you can choose to take it on expeditons.

How would this work? You choose a map, either Bahari, Kilima, Elderwood... And you send it for a certain amount of time (some games let you choose 1h, 2h, 8h...), and it'd bring you gatherables, materials, and maybe quest items or furniture and decoration!

You could also choose the color of your Plumehound, and if they want to get something out of this, they could introduce paid outfits for them (it'd happen lol)

Woudl love to have one that has an inventory (that's small, maybe about the amount of 1 "row" of your inventory, or less), that you can store things in, and send them off to sell or put in your storage (on a cooldown). Be able to pick up drops from hunting and the like, too.

It'd help with accessibility, quality of life, and be a cute little feature

But my thought on the area behind the wall was that it would be an eventual expansion to the lot later on down the line.
Looking at the new landscape designs with the bigger areas, I wouldn't be surprised if the area behind the wall is an expansion to the basic landscape we are given.

Yes, it's worded poorly. The building blocks always counted towards the 3000 limit, but had it's own limit of 1000. That 1000 was tied to the 3000.

Now that cap is removed, so if you want all 3k of your objects to be building blocks you can do that.

So you may think you have 2800 + 400 but really that 400 is already part of the 2800.

It was kinda like this. The thing i circled, is the building blocks. they are just getting rid of the circle. It's still part of the limit itself previously, but now it can be counted towarsd the rest of the "limit" and not just the circle

I get why people want more placable items but like the devs said, there are serious optimization issues that have to be considered. If there was no limit the entire plot would start lagging and it would become extremely difficult to even remove items to reduce the lag
