Manglement and lack of leadership is the issue, and laying off so many staff when the game was still a hot mess isn't going to help the issues that have been plaguing this game.
I give Palia another year, two tops, before it dies off.
Which is a shame. The game has potential but no direction. The developers working on it clearly care about the project but that's not enough, the top brass is grossly incompetent and it's affecting everything else.

if you see a rock that is glowing, it's a rock that's been previously hit by another player. it means that node / rock is about to disappear if you do not mine it yourself. this is similar how the forgeables work.

You've reached the "mature" part of the cycle. It's after you've watered it ~10 times. After this, you'll need to water it ~5 more times to get a seed.

Mid Jan is when they started on this one major update a month thing. Since then we got new content on

• Jan 30th.
• March 1st. (4 weeks + days later. But this was also delayed. Originally planed for the 27th of Feb which was 4 weeks later)
• March 25th (less then 4 weeks later, but about 4 weeks after the original Feb 27th release date).

So about all releases have been about 4 weeks apart, but they all also been the last Monday/Tuesday of the month. This month the last Monday/Tuesday is actually 5 weeks after the previous release.

My guess is they will stick with the final Monday/Tuesday precedent and just enjoy the extra week to get the content done.

Has S6 given anyone a clear answer on whether the tree cycles are bugged or intended? It seems a big excessive to have to water a tree 10-15 times after it matures, with some non-watering days inbetween, to get a seed.

That might be worth reporting. My pattern with fully grown trees has been just one day where it doesn’t request water and then only two or three additional days (I think, it’s been a while since I’ve grown one - but it definitely didn’t take me 10-15) before producing a seed.

I've been growing flow trees for about ~20 (real life) days now. I've only tried counting the amount of watering cycles needed just once, and it was 10 (in-game) days until Mature (at which point it refused taking water for one day), followed by 5 more days until giving out a seed.

I've heard about this, but it hasn't happened to me, yet. I, somehow, avoided a lot of bugs throughout my playtime. From what I've seen, the teleporting bug happened around the trees that still needed watering/growing. Personally, I always keep the growing one on one slot, while the grown ones I move to another.

I think Theo mentioned that trees that are still growing will teleport the moment a new day cycle happens, if thye're on a different plot than you (or something like that)

Yeah, I learned that the hard way. But I was building my regular Tree Farm with 496 trees so I couldn't stay in one plot. Also found it happens even if you are still playing. All 496 teleported to another plot but they teleported back after relogging. Good thing I didnt follow S6 post of about replanting them myself. Yes I spoke to Theo before about the trees. I followed their advice and put reports in on all of it. Teleporting, not getting seeds from trees I moved manually and my main plot now getting the "House Plot is Full" message no matter how many items I remove.

Considering the planting of the Trees and Flowers is a newly added mechanic, you'd expect quite a few hiccups early on. It's why I didn't fully dive into them too much (outside of just growing flow trees).

When you block someone it blocks messages from them and many other things, and reduces how often you'll see them on the same server. There's currently a bug in matchmaking that will sometimes put you on their server and we've got a fix implemented and on the way. I don't have an exact date about when the fix will be validated and released but hopefully in the next month

If you're getting unwanted whispers from people you don't know, blocking is the quickest and most reliable thing you can do.

You can also double-check your friends list to see if maybe you accepted an invite by mistake. (I know I've done that by accident several times) You may want to check both online and offline friends lists because it sometimes takes a little while to update the friend status if they just logged in or if you just accepted an invite

Random people aren't supposed to be able to whisper you. If it happens again and you have the time, a bug report would help us investigate what's happening

When we looked into the data there was one scenario that stood out as the main issue and that's what we have a fix for. So I expect it'll happen much less often, and for some players that'll mean never but I expect there are some less common situations that we haven't fixed yet

Now I'm curious on an edge case. When you rezone, your connection to a server is weighted in part by if people on your friends list are on the same server. What if said server already also contains someone you've blocked?

Oh yeah the "following" part is not worded well. The people "following" you are people that have an open friend invite to you that you haven't accepted. And the people you are following are the people you have an open friend invite to, that haven't accepted it.

That's on our big list of things to improve about the user interface

Eh, in all honesty, I don't see a use right now for the "Following" anyways. I don't really think it's a great idea, personally, to show if you have pending requests via that tab, and then seeing them removed afterwards if it was rejected. I just don't see much of a point in it in general.

I do like the idea of a "Following" list in theory (not how it functions now, but the idea that you could follow people. Maybe a better way to do item requests. I know that's what friends are, but that could be a nice way of doing it while avoiding having whispers/messages, for example).

Yeah there are some tricky edge cases there, like if a server has 1 friend 1 block or if a server has 10 friends 1 block. I can't share exactly how we reconcile those, just that we try to make a tradeoff between the two and it's especially difficult because "friend" means different things to different players and "block" also means different things to different players

Hi, i wanted to briefly tell you about my experience at a grove. I hit the trees once to get the loot. Then i went afk for a moment to bridge the waiting time. When i came back, a few players were cutting down the trees and a few players were ipset in the chat.
Almost all players then left the area but a tree below was forgotten. There was another or two players standing there. Okay, then we will cut down the last tree because everyone already left the area. Then a player who saw this trashed my name in the server chat. I would have cut down all the trees with another player. He didnt want to see that he was wrong. So pls before you mention a name in the chat, you should be observe the situation more closely.

I've had the fishing glitch - I know what causes it - if you have any other thing selected on your bar - food - rocks - other fish -- and try to cast, you get locked in a short cast motion.

What these people were doing were not that.

You can type /unstuck swap tools and your casting will be reset.

Also my chat has also been broken; so has grouping. Parties drop randomly on map swaps. Chat drops randomly on map swaps. It's been pretty frustrating.

I'll type, /un then the s triggers the interface. I close if I can. Then each letter in the word unstuck keeps triggering a menu in the interface. If I manage to type the whole word unstuck, the game still does not accept input. Meanwhile, my character remains in that animation loop. Eventually, restarting is the only thing that works.

the purpose for me is that you have to work for things. things don't come guaranteed after a certain amount of kills. some people get super lucky with some things and get unlucky for other things. i personally do not like the idea of a "pity" system for me because that takes away from the chance aspects of the game. you never know when you will get something, and that's what makes it fun for me!

I do like the idea of having an exchange available at least for progression related items - like the fish needed for bundles/quests.
Exchange X rare fish for a legendary fish. Would maintain the long term challenge for anyone wanting to go against the odds until they get the item, while also offering a way for players to progress when they decide it’s time to move on, without the automatic pity.

I can understand that to a degree! Pity systems, depending on how they're implemented, can still have that same effect. It just slowly does make it easier, but it's still a chance.

It's also suggested maybe, having it where a diff kind of currency/item drops, that if you get enough, you can get said item. So it can still be RNG, but you can still see progress and can work towards it. But, with this, I wouldn't want the RNG to be as dreadful as the plushies are currently, or how the RNG can be for some of the plushies and things in the lucky coins.

it would def be easier though. I guess thinking simlar to how the chapaa-chase was. And I know there's hunting coins/medals, but that's still a grind via other ways-- not exactly having it "drop".

And is just another suggestion i give in case the devs have a harder time with a pity system. but i still like pity system bc it'd be more "cosy" for others. esp depending on how it's done

Afaik sprint speed hasn’t changed at all; I’m not sure what if any settings might help but you could try tinkering with things.
I sometimes get bad motion sickness from some games but find adjusting graphic quality and FOV can help (and of course motion blur if it’s a thing)

You have no way to earn any cosmetics (clothing wise) for your character. The prices for outfits are actually quite high (i know there are some cheaper ones, but on avg they are quite high). There's also no way to even purchase individual outfit pieces, so I really don't understand this.

I still have ideas for an OC concept but i can't properly create them in this game, because of how lacking it is. The grinding has no real progression or visual as if I'm making progress-- it's why I hate the plushies dropping from Sernuks. It feels awful. They butchered the community aspect I once had (cake parties, i liked to just hang with people). It's just...

It makes me sad. I miss this game. I still love the potential this game has. I just hope it gets better over time.

I think the thought was let’s say there’s 1000 players pre Steam launch. 1000 new players join via Steam, but 40% leave over the first few weeks, we still have 600 new players from Steam for a total of 1600.
Broader point is that Steam analytics aren’t the best to go off of since yes, a lot of those players could be from other platforms and trying the Steam launcher and then stopping using Steam, etc.
It would be neat to get a more solid breakdown of players from the devs but I don’t think a company would ever do that (I don’t actually know).
