Best advice dont look for it then you find them all the time. the game is psychic it knows when you are looking for a specific item and then refuses to give it you. But when you are no longer in need of that item you will find it very often. #rainbow butterfly. 💀

I feel like the spawn rate of Muujin has gone down since they returned to the game. It’s not a huge issue, but I remember finding like 7 of them on Thorny Thicket in one tree.

they don't seem to spawn on the little plateau at thorny thicket at all anymore. nor on the other ledge NW of statue garden where they could also be trapped. i feel like they are more scattered now.

not to get all conspiracy theory but i don't think it's a coincidence those were popular places to solo hunt magic muujins and now muujins don't spawn there anymore. and it's possible the reason the muujins disappeared in the first place is because the devs made some mistake while changing the spawns to stop people hunting them in those specific areas

They’re really difficult to kill alone, tbh. Ideally, you’d have 1 person with slow down arrows and 1 with dispel arrows. This combo makes it much easier, but still complicated when there are trees around

those or dispels would work, if you are at level 8 hunting, you can craft hunter horns using the elder sernuk antlers, fur and leather that will track any magical creature

using the horns, since it will follow the deer, i switched back to fine arrows, you may also be able to see if someone has horns in the server that you are at and see if you can join with them if they are also hunting

Basically the same as the other 2 magic animals, use a magic arrow to stop it from going invisible and hit it as many times as you can before it runs. (Highly recommended to work with others to shoot it down quickly, but it is doable solo) A good strategy is to break the majority of the wood it's hiding in so that it takes it longer to find a replacement tree to hide in.

When you shoot it with a dispel arrow, chase it without shooting, it will do one magic dash before it stops, then repeat. It's less running overall if you have poor running aim.

i do exactly that, dispel and a bit of running, some people swear by hunting in a group but i have a bad aim when it's fast like that so i often don't get a shot in and it's wasted time. the wolf i don't think it's possible to do alone, or very unlikely at least

Just make sure you give it space to run and stop, if you get too close it just keeps running

I can not emphasize how beautfiul the dispel arrow / slow arrow / normal trio is especially with horn. Get one friend to stop its magic, the other slows down, and one will just compensate for the damage that is lost by slow arrow. Disco deer become a piece of cake with a little communication ;)

The drop rate for proudhorns is 1%, so it’s going to take a while! Some people get lucky, for some people it took a week or so, and some people (like me) have slain hundreds of proudhorns over the course of the week and had no luck. 🥲

All this to say, there’s nothing wrong with your game, it’s just classic rng.

you can get seeds in bahari from bugs that exist in both kilima and bahari, but getting them from the azure crickets is almost definitely unintended. If I had to make an educated guess, someone missed a creature ID code somewhere.

there are 3 deer plushies, each type of deer drops a different one though the magic deer is currently bugged to drop a different sernuk plushie which is only supposed to come from zeki's gacha

drop chance is very low though, 0.1% for the normal and elder sernuk plushies, 1% for the one from the proudhorn (magic deer)

Take a buzz jar if available, go to Bahari and start a hunting route at 3am (image from u/ blahable on reddit), keep catching other bugs if it doesn't show up and it will eventually appear! I did this the other day and got it with just that one run!

there's two ways to find them: 1) rarely you might find one just walking around in the north half of bahari, so you can use a buzzy jar and just run around though you'll mostly find hairy millipedes instead, or 2) chopping large and medium sapwood trees anywhere in bahari, though the spawn chance is only 5%

but maybe that was lucky, accoding to the palia wiki, it is 5% drop rate of chopping trees. But I've never seen a wild one. All of the beetles I found came from trees

what techniques are you using? i was able to find a few without honey lures by spending literally two entire (real life) hours just running back and forth in maji's hollow clearing out all the bugs manually. i also got some from honey lures, although we're talking about 0-1 per lure so YMMV on if it's worth it

My mistake with catching the Duskwing Butterfly was that I thought they'd be shown with the Buzzy Jar too, so I completely concentrated on the symbols rather than look around. Only got one because someone came around and placed a honey lure which spawned some. Took me one or three ones that I didn't catch to realize that they're not shown with the jar, but catched the last one and it happened to be a starred one. 😂

Here’s my advice for anyone trying to get a starred rainbow tipped (I hunted for it for about a week)

1. Supreme smoke bombs- these have a 100% chance to catch whatever bug you hit (like Pokémon master ball) VERY USEFUL as you will only need to throw one to catch instead of 6-10

2. Smoke candle- the rainbow tipped butterfly scares like crickets and other insects, smoke candle makes it so it doesn’t run away if you walk up to it, note it will still try to run if you throw a bomb that’s what supreme smoke bomb is the go to

3. Buzzy jar- self explanatory shows any rare and epic bugs

4. TIME LINE- it is possible for them to spawn during a grove however I have never spotted one in my entire time trying to hunt one. Go to pulse water at 2:30am use buzzy jar at 3am run around pulse water and hideaway bluff area if there is not butterfly go to hideaway bluff(or pulse water) fast travel, travel to kilma central then to bahari central then to pulse water or hideaway bluffs teleport this will cause you to be placed in a new server 7/10 times rinse and repeat until your buzzy jars time runs out usually go ahead and start collecting oysters after my buzzy jar ends to get pearls for more supreme smoke bombs, also catching lunar fairy moths at night to make more buzzy jars. I used about 5 honey lures and none of them spawned a rainbow tipped so I’d advise to not waste them on trying to get the rainbow tipped^ I hope this helped anyone

It's getting so discouraging trying to make sure others get their shot in when I'm hunting and most people are not doing the same anymore!

If I see someone hunting in the same area I try to let them shoot first and then I’ll follow up. Someone did tell me in game though that sometimes the ping difference makes it really hard to hunt the same sernuks cause one person will shoot then the other person’s ping is so high that they can’t see the sernuk running away

If you ever get dispell arrows yeah azure chapaa are the easiest magic huntable
I usuallly just walk up and bam bam bam dead
But i think the best way i learned from someone else is to walk up slowly while aiming to let it get spooked then dispel shoot immediately because before being spooked the dispell doesn't stun it
But after its spooked and shot it will literally be stunned and sitting there an open target for several seconds

getting so frustrated hunting disco deer. i used 2 hunters horns and found 1 deer. either it despawns as i'm chasing it, people kill it before i can get to it, or it just leads me to a muujin in a freaking tree. is there any secret?

also this glitch was a good use of most a hunter's horn trying to figure out where it was trying to take me LOL

I’ve been chasing the magic muujin up a tree when using the hunter’s horns lol, and a lot of the time I ended up on servers with deer or muujin clipped into a cliff so it’d pick up on a cliff and there was nothing there. Stay over near the stables and the flooded steps, that’s where I had most of my luck

a good chunk of the time, you can tell which animal it will be based on the location. if its near the earth shrine, the fortress entrance, or the valley west of statue gardens, chances are its a deer.

Sernuk hunting is becoming uncomfortable. Just was scolded for hitting a proudhorn twice. The second was final hit. I mean, now you are being told how to hunt. It's frustrating for sure

they can suck a butt, I def get frustrated when hunting, but let’s be real unless someone calls it out then it’s a first come first serve basis and it’s usually shoot to kill! If I’m hunting with a friend and we’re in a vc we’ll make sure we both have our shots lined up and we count down to make sure we both get a hit, but if I’m too far I just say shoot it bestie and I’ll get a hit if I catch up or I’ll catch the next one no biggie

It's just hard to know who has hit the deer and even if someone else is chasing one if they are behind you. I mean, I'm not really feeling like hunting much now. I've always let others have a shot if I notice someone else after the same deer.

hunting is definitely first come first serve, if you aren't using a hunter's horn, or teamed up with someone who does, it's free for all. if i take a proudhorn down sooner than the normal 6 hits, i'll call where the loot dropped

So a trick I thought up and just tried is shoot as many as u can in one go or area and then don't pick up the loot till u can't see anymore sernuks. I got the regular plushie with that just now.

Horns are fairly easy to get, you can have it on perpetually and still hunt the normal sernuks/collect pal on the side.

I still need the elder plush, I felt a bit put out when I got the glambi plush. I don't really need to hunt the proudhorn anymore, but I found it fun.

I had a circuit I ran around the map to hit all its spawn points in my horn's range.

the regular and banded muujin, you can just aim and try to hit them as quickly as possible, the slowdown arrows can help with that, the magic muujin may need to party up because they disappear and climb trees to regenerate health. i have been able to get quick shots in on the magic one before it disappears to knock it out, but they can be difficult now

Use buzzy jar and keep burning it, it is kind of easy that way. Also ignore the flow tree and pal when you on buzzy jar, because bug despawn easily

there are also some bugs spawn after you chop trees, that you need to rely on farming tress

Also it feels like once I've caught one, I start seeing them pretty regularly after that. Less so for the ones with really small spawn areas, though.

they are color swapped with their icon. the glow bug is actually the blue one in the over world. usually found by itself

the sernuk (deer creatures) will drop their respective plush when picking up the loot (the regular and elder have a 0.1% chance to drop their plushes, while the proudhorn is dropping the order plush, which is a bug, at 1% chance). other plushes have a chance to be gotten from zeki's machine

The normal sernuk was easy for me, only took maybe 15 arrows. The elder and proudhorn right now tho is kicking my butt, I've lost track as well how many I've made.
