I've seen it the most so far lately, and that's part of what's caused a theory of mine.

So while hunting for specific bugs in the Flooded Fortress, every time I was there come midnight (this happened 5 times, so it was consistent), Grove spawned on top of me/next to me
Yesterday I went to the possible Grove just down the road from the Outskirts gate where we can access our plot and waited.

My theory is, if someone is in a Grove spot when it's due to spawn, it's either going to or highly likely to spawn in that spot. I just need more testing.

there’s a new option to have your plot open to the server, there’s friends/neighbours but most of us think it’s bugged as that might mean friends/community members but it’s not clear, report it as a bug and hopefully they can be more clear on it all, can always kick people out by leaving or setting plot to close if you don’t want people over

i heard it only happens if your like, glitching or moving rooms/building, i’ve stop renovations altogether and even crafting new things i’m throwing in storage cuz i dunno what’s happening, and when i log on today i’m gonna do like “inventory check” so i know if something goes missing

People can access their own inventories/supplies from other's plots, so that doesn't necessarily mean he was taking your stuff. He was just using it

I know that there’s local data on your PC that support may ask for, but I’m not sure what all they’re able to return to you even if they find things have vanished. I’m sure picking through the local data is difficult and idk if it’s possible to really isolate missing thing cause yeeee I’m sure we all have so much stuff on our plot we just embrace the clutter too much. I did some testing, and it seems to me that Switch players can go to any Plot they want.
From Switch, go to the Server list, select any one - even the ones that have a lock symbol - and I can go to their plot.
I did this wile I was logged into another account on PC that was on the same server, and from PC, I couldn't even select the locked users.
I think what is going on is that the Lock out makes the characters unelectable, and that's what "locks" people from going to their server. The problem however, is that Switch users appear to be able to select anyone - even those that should not be selectable.

So Switch players are getting classified as either friends or neighbors to everyone on their server? I don't know how else we'd bypass friends only but not fully locked.

who knows, can't tell unless we can see the code itself there's many ways it could've went wrong. My theory is that the code that locks people out is broken for switch. The reason why Closed still works is because there's another code that prevents any visitors at all and that isn't broken

like Closed just prevents another connection from linking to yours, and it still works. But locked doesn't do the same thing, they probably forgot to remove the "don't let user highlight name if this plot is locked" thing, hence why players can still "select" closed plots

another possibility it went wrong is that they forgot the ; at the end of their code that says to allow if player is friends with selected plot, which means that code overrode the code after it (which is the code that disallows players to select plot if they are not friends)

sry if this doesn't make too much sense, i work with a little code in my job and missing that ; makes an incredible waterfall effect of errors such a simple thing to miss, but creates such a disaster

They can water your plants, weed, and collect food sitting on your campfire/etc. but it goes to your inventory anyway. So basically chores. They can break into your house and do chores.

I was able to put mine pretty close to a harvest house. It's not attached, but close enough. The roof looks joined; it's just that there's a small gap at the bottom between the tiles and the foundation of the house.

I’ve noticed a lot more toxic players in the game, some stripping entire groves in a group of 2-3, then laughing and taunting other players. I saw someone in chat talking about another player asking for pics. In general, trolling (obnoxious behavior) is happening more and more. It’s sad.

I believe there is an exploit for cutting large flow trees by a single person and maybe also cut all flow faster. I don't believe I've seen anyone using this particular cheat, but I'm seeing more and more single or small group cutting flow groves by themselves refusing to wait for anyone else to get there.

All I know of is that you can animation cancel to cut down some flow trees solo, but it's somewhat difficult to do, and only works on certain sizes of trees

it's still worth doing for a newbie, buying something cheap from Zeki's once per rl day and you'll get a coin next rl day. My youngest character got an apple seed this way early on. The other way in the underground is gambling, there is a danger with engaging in gambling, which might have unwanted effects in real life. Gambling can be addictive and eventually ruin your life.

Sooo, yesterday, I had three compasses to locate the big iron and palis. I decided to call out and flare all pali I came across. What I noticed, is that I found A LOT of pali, and as I came across pali, there would be newer players who would mine and run (without flares or call outs).

I also inadvertently spammed the server chat because I kept coming across so much pali.

While I know the devs wanted to make the change to accommodate different play types, the stark contrast of using a compass and calling out each pali really made me think about how much we're all not seeing.

I completely get the pain for those using Switch (I use Switch), so the flare is a good compromise.

But, after calling out pali on three compasses, I ended up with 97 pali on three runs--and I've never had that much pali before.

What are your thoughts on the pali resource change?

Also, I just got yet another item in the ||Signet Ring|| quest chain from a rummage pile, so I'm almost certain the quest is bugged to have two methods of acquiring the quest items; one as a random Rummage Pile drop (likely the intended behavior), and one as a series of drops on the beach that start spawning in after you get the first one. Going to have to remember to report this later.

They probably don’t have access to flares and typing is a pain on the switch and takes longer than needed.

Though if someone comes to mine it while the whole screen is covered it’s no longer gone. It’s still there unless the timer has ran its course and it disappears.

Technically people don’t have to call out or flare pall it’s a courtesy and nice. I still call out when I can and carry flares with me just in case. With the three minute time people who can only play for a certain amount of time doesn’t have to wait on someone or feel bad about just taking the pal.

Yes it does suck for it to disappear right when you get to it, but if people are consistently mining nodes it will move to an available space.

They did update the compass which I’ve yet to use since the update but before it felt like it was marking every single node out there.

Which is good you found so much pal on your mining spree. Which shows people can use the compass just incase the nodes don’t get called out or flared.

Before a rude person could come by after someone called it out and didn’t wait for others that said otw to get there and just took it and then it wouldn’t be there. Now if someone does that it wouldn’t be such a problem anymore since it goes on for three minutes.

I honestly think that it made it better than what it was minus the whole disappearing before you get there and/or while you are mining it.

Fast travel back to my plot. I load in to one of my secondary plots (it's a test plot with a couple buildings and a dozen furniture items).

It’s very frustrating that you can’t gift starred items. As you advance in the game you’re more likely to only have star quality on many things such as farmed goods, and aside from just wanting to reach a hand behind you to help noobs (or other experienced players who forgot to keep an apple seed in storage🫠), filling requests is also one of the only ways to still get renoun.

I really worry about the reception on steam if the store page isn't honest about the state of the game, and how that will be reflected in the reviews

Like for example this recent patch accidentally removed an entire species of mob from the game, which given the new release cadence it'll be gone for the rest of the month. That's not how we'd define stable, but it would be understandable if the game is still beta.

One bad patch is enough to tank a steam review score and there are so few examples of games they ever dug themselves out of the 'overwhelmingly negative' pit so it's really important that's avoided and I think that's only avoided with being transparent about the state of the game

S6 fosters a lot of good community will by being in beta so I just can't understand why this was purposely scrubbed from the steam release

when winterfest was released, there was a bug where you were able to craft items that weren't supposed to be craftable for only 1 stone, including the wood and stone pathway linings, the sunrise valley items which are supposed to be only obtainable from zeki's gacha, and then the string lights. These recipes were made craftable after a player crafted the winterfest candles for the first time. They were only craftable for about 2-3 days before it was patched and many people were unaware of the bug so not everyone was able to craft them. But I assume the string lights will be reintroduced sometime in the future.

From what the Shepps who are Paw Patrol have told us they were under what is basically "Contractual obligation akin to NDA to NOT tell us until the announcement came out"- I'll allow Mave and the others to confirm or deny this.

No offense, but the fact that mod actions and discussions with people are not open to the public has been both an issue for the prior mods and will continue to be for future mods. We're reaaaally striving for this to be a positive change.

I've been here since pre-alpha days, so trust me when I say I care about the community. There will be growing pains, but we're committed to working through them.
