In all seriousness, if there is no snowfall during the winter update, then I won't even bother returning. That's like huge miss if that's the case. Also not a fan that the game is becoming more and more about solving puzzles. For a game about foraging, hunting, mining, cooking, furniture making, and gardening all which contain RPG elements and were advised before the release, I don't understand how the game is going to a completely different direction.

I hate puzzles, you lured the wrong kind of people in with certain features and now you're focusing on something completely else.

i am curious to see how the game would go if they allowed the devs to take the reigns on content and stopped listening to 'i want this or that' it would be nice if they had the content of the base game down first before adding things like sitting on furniture and laying down. they are still in beta so all the player desires can come after the base game has been developed. take the time it took to work on little stuff like opening cupboards to get the bugs under check. i honestly don't interact much with furniture once i have placed it and it has not affected the gameplay for me at all and would not have stopped me from playing the game but new quests/characters/areas and less bugs is what brings people in.

Development is often done in teams. It's probably not bad to have a team of 5 or so people work on smaller asks, but the main force should be working on the main idea for the game. I think the fact development feels slow just makes the feeling theyre just bouncing up and down the wishlist even worse.

I'm not sure just putting the fish or bug back in your inventory will count as a caught if the accomplishment is redone. When I received a gifted star bug from a NPC it did not count towards the accomplishment, I still had to catch it myself.

Off the top of my head, a spreadsheet could be sufficient. A column for a quick description, classification columns, a 'last checked patch', a column for confirmation of being a bug or official recognition or if it got fixed. An extra column for any notes such as quick workarounds + fixes.

The tradeoff is that you might struggle to go in-depth with an individual bug, but there's a lot of room for sorting and organisation. A doc would be bothersome to scroll through

from the perspective of someone who hasnt been here a lot, from what I was explained and how people use it, palia discussions felt a lot like a containment channel for whenever something went wrong in game and venting/complaining was making majority of people in the general tab uncomfortable. So it's an herculean tag to find the bugs in the middle of everything.

There have been two renovations with the bug channels so far. The first was where there were 3 channels; issue discussions, bug feedback, and suggestions. The second was when they decided to do the forum layout because they believed it’d be more organized and would be able to see bug\problems better (which I personally thought was going great cause you could see others who were experiencing the same problem and temporary workarounds that were being found) but of course we ran into the issue of the same threads being posted over and over so they limited the thread count, but that apparently also limited people who could talk there to 1000. Ash tried to help by seeing the big problems and making threads but it still wasn’t going well so now we just have one big blob of a issue discussion channel lol

Alright these blue muujins being able to go invisible, jumping into trees, AND healing when they're in the tree is just too much. I'm a pretty good hunter. Can bag other blues by myself just fine. These are borderline impossible. Add lag so they can glitch to suddenly be closer to the tree and I'm tearing my hair out

Trying joining a random group while they are cutting trees or hunting. Even if you are the one cutting the trees and they are the hunters, you get the credit. Please keep your hair

It's a pity that after the last update, it is not possible anymore to make gifts to other players when the requested item is not in the inventory. In addition, if you move stuff from the inventory to the sales chest or to other crafting machines, after each klick, the inventory slides back to the beginning so that you have to scroll to the item you want to move everytime if it's to much to move a whole stack. 🤔 Looking forward for christmas decoration, btw. 😌

yeah this design really screams out of touch to me, first we get shoved cozy cookies into our mouth and handed a hot chocolate and told that this is a nice and inclusive place for all, play at your pace, it's all about unwinding....
and then we get a rare animal that turns invisible and requires 10 people to hunt unless you're in voice chat and time your arrows. min maxing and strategizing in a farm sim was not on my list.

I was getting bored hunting the others including the Proudhorn because they have become simple for me, a player who is lousy at most things. The muujin are exciting for me to hunt, solo or in a group so I am grateful they are trying new things. And you can get achievements still

I'm definitely glad that they're adding more challenging gameplay, it's not like you have to do it. The great thing about more challenging gameplay in games like this is that the more you play the game the better you will get and that challenge will get less and less but keep you interested in the long term, if everything is too easy most people will get bored. They're always has to be something that people can work towards on all levels.

They work for a millisecond and it's definitely not worth it. That's what I wish for them to change about T3 Muujin. Have the Dispel arrows remove invisibility for as long as it stops a Proudhorn from teleporting.

What worked for me were slow arrows and then follow the blue slow trail. I liked that far better than the dispell ones.

Yeah slow arrows is often the recommended move. I just want to be able to see them. My aim is bad enough when I can see the whole creature 😩 let alone a trail I can barely see. Especially when time is of the essence so they don't hop in a tree and heal. Idk I'm with the people who say it's just too awful solo at the moment.

What I found best hunting them solo was to destroy all surrounding trees and use either dispel or slow arrows or a combination of the two.

Also, binding my bow and other tools to my fkeys after the tool wheel change was a gamechanger.

I think their invisiblity should be on a cooldown so that they can't use it immediately after their tree is chopped. Maybe even an extra second of visibility would help because even in group hunts I'd notice some players fail to notice it at all.

What did you do with the binding exactly? Like if all your tools are bound to F then how do you easily select the tool you specifically want?

What I mean by my Fkeys is that all my tools are bound to an individual Fkey. For example: My bow is F1, Belt Pouch is F2, Axe is F3, Pickaxe is F4. Makes switching between tools quick and seamless.

That extra half a second you save not using the tool wheel can make the difference between firing an extra shot.

For that one i used a vpn so for example im usually on NA servers. I had a fishing bug that made my home plot not accessible. So i did the extra steps and i sent in s6 my files. Just to get told to use a vpn. So i just downloaded a free vpn and tried booting up the game when i was in the correct area vpn wise. Low and behold it worked lol i could play the game like normal on EU servers. Eventually the link refreshed and i didnt need the vpn anymore

Here's my predictions re: Switch: S6 is pitching to Nintendo they will have it Switch ready in early January 2024 (bet one thing they have to have working is their premium store. No $$$ = no Switch). If they can get the Switch up and running, after about a month or so we'll start to get some more content drops including a winter event like the Maji Markt in February. S6 needs to get Switch up and running to pull in new $... I mean new players.

yeah... ngl I really question this strategy S6 seems to be following. There's only so many platforms you can release on, only so many pools of new players to draw on. It's effective in the short term- Launching on a new platform is like... -the- biggest way to boost your player count and get a bunch of new people to try your game, but I feel like they're hurting themselves in the long run... I feel like launching on all these new platforms now, during a very incomplete-feeling and buggy beta, is going to seriously hurt their prospects at long term success. First impressions are a big deal, and if peoples' first impressions of Palia are, well, gestures at the massive 'known issues' list....

There's also the possibility of friction when it comes to the investors and company higher ups, and the devs on the ground working on the game themselves... Like I can definitely see the latter being like "okay guys this game is not ready" and the former wanting to shove it out the door regardless anyway even to it's detriment. So I def worry about the switch release coming out prematurely cause yeah, honestly that's their biggest shot at bringing in new players. If that ends up being a buggy flop, then growing the playerbase is going to be a lot harder. Idk how many people they can draw in if they just go "Hey everyone we've decided it's 1.0 now!" on PC.
