Every time I mine one, I feel like I'm looking over my shoulder hoping no one yells at me.

I'm not very far into this game but I've already run across people that are weirdly hostile about callouts for palium, which is strange to me, especially considering there's such an influx of newer player and most, like me, don't know about callouts etc until a good while into the game.

I think there will be node chaos in Palia as far as the eye can see until node loot is instanced/per-person and therefore no longer a competitive element. In games like that, people still call things out, but you can go at your leisure to the location, no one fights over the resource, and everyone benefits from that cooperation because there are no downsides to it. No one can 'steal' your tree or whatever.

I will screemch about instanced resources at every opportunity, because I never want to fight someone over a flower or rock.

Yeah it kind of relegates fishing to running around looking for bubbles. Wish there was a chance for a star outside of bubbles. Kind of weird their isn't.

Only reason to farm without bubbles is for the initial rare fish if you haven't gotten the achievement...but you still need the starred achievement.

Am a little late on the response since I'm out of the house but omg THIS SO HARD I am one of the biggest proponents of instanced nodes in this game after seeing that like 95% of in game toxicity is thanks to the current system LOL

Mostly I just look at ways to improve ease of play and reduce stress, and that seems like one of the easiest ways to accomplish that. Maybe the tradeoff would be to add a buff that makes you a little faster or ticks up the rare drop pool if you gather together/near others, but it might not even need that.

If I'm gonna beef with another player, I want it to be over something important - like who gets to shove Jel into the lake as a prank first.

I disagree. The current gathering mechanic for flow trees (Regen) for Palium and then for the rest using the gathering mechanic from herbs would be fine.

Just have nodes go away after a certain period after being farmed once....but can be farmed by anyone once until the initial timer expires.

I don't think we need to remove multiplayer entirely just because of one specific resource being hard to find.

I might be more inclined to agree with the current system if it were just one specific resource, but I've seen people catch fire for mining something as simple as clay or even plain rocks or beach forage that someone else 'was going to get'. From rares to commons, I just keep seeing fight after fight and it makes me wonder what the benefit is of a single player being able to physically remove something from the map for everyone else.

Few things are more frustrating than finally finding the thing you need and watching it vanish in front of you and realizing another player must have pathed through first.

Yeah some things I just don't understand. Like why is a lucky coin 10k and has the same stuff that's in the regular lucky coins? If you are spending 10k you should be guaranteed something good or something differenet than they ones you get everyday.

I think the XP gained is based on the rarity of fish caught. I could be wrong. But basically just upgrade your bait when you have access. Again, I could be wrong, but I assume worms and glow worms will be steps up for XP gain.

i'm level 43 fishing atm and wanna get to 50 the fastest, i always use glow worms and try to fish near a person and use a major time reducer + trout dinner when i have one, so the only thing i was thinking is like the location to help boost the xp for the rarity or if theres a place with better rare fish

my theory is that the amount of xp per fish is based on the value of the fish
I believe that I felt a difference between fishing in Pavel Mines (Stonefish = 80g / Blobfish = 75g) and fishing at Mirror Pond (Scarlet Koi = 85g / Mottled Gobi = 85g)
imo the best (fastest) spot to level up fishing is in any pond with glow worms
all the fish (including the Giant Goldfish) are fairly easy to reel in with a perfect catch which gives you almost always 20% extra xp
that's just a theory and is purely based on my experience
EDIT (just tested it myself):
Blobfish (75g - perfect catch) used 15 focus
Scarlet Koi (85g - perfect catch) used 21 focus

so idk if this has been found but i'm sure everyone knows of the 'ghost fish' bug where when you fish at a node sometimes you'll catch and it just reels the rod back in with nothing. some of you probably know of the fix where you can walk away and come back to the node too and try fish there again, but i've noticed something which idk if it's been talked about but if you have a fishing bobber skin (i use the pyroflow bobber) and when you take out your rod, it shows as the default bobber skin for that rod, every time i fish when that default bobber skin the ghost fish bug happens, but if i keep swapping my tools until my actual skinned bobber shows, i don't get the bug and i fish the star node successfully. just thought if this wasn't known i should put this out there

I’ve been working for weeks to save up and get the gazebo…. Finally got the money and today the achievement bug also hit me… on the same day I got the coins. Tried to get the gazebo but it set it back to one so I bought my third plot and no gazebo…. They really need to fix this game because I feel like all my work has been for nothing. I love the game, but this is beyond disappointing and discouraging.

people don't get the achievement at all apparently but the bug seems to be more recent, think they changed something with the achievement by accident, afaik it was possible for players to get it even with the achievement bug before + someone said they got the achievement with purchasing the 125k one while having the achievement bug, so much going on with that bug I feel sorry for the devs

I assume you did buy the 100k cost plot, but just in case because some people says they bought their third meaning they own 3 and some say it meaning they paid for 3 - you have to pay for 3, the 3rd costing 100k. Blackout bug does seem to make a mess of it - but if you only ahve 3 total there could be hope!

I thought the 100k was the 4th plot? Because when my achievements were working yesterday I had 2 plots, the achievement said I had 2/3. So one more should’ve gotten the gazebo? Unless you need 4 total for it? Anyone know the Max number of plots? Cause it seems to be erasing my progress whenever I log in or out. So I would need to save up to buy 3 plots at the same time. Wasn’t sure if it maxed you at 5?

Gazebo is for housing slots! You can obtain these by going to your house and clicking on the H menu. There is a dropdown at the top to purchase more housing slots- you'll have to buy three of these for 50k, 75k, and 100k respectively. Then, after that, you go to the townhall and buy a gazebo blueprint, take it home, then throw resources in to make it. This counts as a room. (The first gazebo should be free, but some players don't receive it, so better to plan to spend extra than to not plan for it and be disappointed).

It's a lot.... have that macro saved because there's a lot of confusion around it!

I'd just join a cooking achievement group. You will make every dish at least once so you can get bundle cooking, solo achievements AND social cooking achievements all done in an hour vs fishing for weeks..

Then if you really care about recipe completionism you can slowly farm it while you're doing weekly fishing challenges

Gardening helps a lot too. I only grow stuff to jar it and sell or use for focus. That’s usually my main way of income. Right now it’s mining though since the star stones have been added.

Plus a lot of us took advantage of the gold mine things before they got nerfed aha. I’ve been mining farming a lot cause I have a feeling they’re gonna fix the prices on those starstones a bit.

Star stones drop randomly so somtimes its the extra oooh shiny. Badruu is your goto for ferm jars. I usually mine around 2-4 hours and i get atleast 60k if i do 7-8 i can get around 150k

You can purchase the writs from city Hall, but I can't remember what causes the quest to allow that. there are a few from Eshe, and Kenli (iirc) about decorating your plot, and other home plot related things... I don't think there's anything you can do to rush it in particular. Maybe Eshe and Kenli friendship levels too though - level 2?

I used nearby chat today and like it more than I thought I would. I tabbed to server to call out palium, and say if I was omw to any, then back to nearby when I get there to chat.

It made me feel less like I was interrupting useful server chat, while still able to talk to new people :) I even made a friend :)

I disagree entirely with your argument. Nerfs do not create longevity because they aren’t actually long-term content. A nerf just makes the grind more tedious. There also isn’t an economy because there is no player trading and the gold cap is set to like 300k. There is no reason for players not to be able to make 50 to 70k an hour…

Taking the surveys makes a difference. Singularity 6 generally listens to what the community is saying within reason. I think they're doing a good job of not listening to the power gamers that just wanna grind as much money as possible, and focusing on the aspects of the game that desperately need work.

I think the key thing is that there is no end game content, because they haven't even finished the middle of the game yet. Plus side, they're releasing content constantly, but down side, it's really easy to get through everything the game currently has to offer

It's okay to have premium cosmetics of course

But it's not okay to exclude the majority of the playerbase from a significant part of the game. We need stuff we can earn in game that looks cool. Like maybe a "master gardener" outfit for high skill level/lots of medals. Maybe a fancy axe from a questline that has you gather materials for it, forge it for yourself, etc

I'm perfectly fine with the current monetization method IF they add solid free alternatives a well

Charging the same amount as a whole ass game for a pallet swapped premium outfit is my main issue with it. The idea of buying outfits doesn't bother me as much as long as there were also things to earn in game. Prices are wild tho lol

Yeah! There's some cool in game items like from friendship quests or bundles, but it's not enough. And I totally think players need to get more from being high skill level. Otherwise there's no big reason to up your skills after a certain point

I still agree with your comment btw just wanted to mention the glasses because I'm so nearsighted I can't see anything without them and was happy to finally have some I could wear when I went to look at the changes last patch
