More people can do prep than the recipe calls for ( you still use your ingredients but you get whatever is cooked). Like a recipe might call for 1 rice prep but a cooking party will have 5 rice stations so more people can get the dish. Also means there's extra in case someone misses their step, goes afk, glitches etc
