My fix that has consistently worked for both wife and I using xbox controllers on PC is the same and here is a slightly improved idea for you to test if your jump stops working:

Equip bow and just tap the shoot button. You should see them pull up the bow kind of to aim but then just put it back down. Not actually shoot an arrow. After that jumping should work again.

This has worked for us every single time jumping stops working. Do not understand the how or why.

Throwing the bug smoke bomb also seems to work.

This may be a strange question: while I've always experienced occasionally getting kicked from the game while playing on the Switch, I could always re-enter the game quickly from the character screen, no problem.

Ever since the autumn update, whenever I'm booted to the chatacter screen, none of my buttons seem to work. I can't click play, open up the settings menu, anything. I have to exit out of the game entirely, and then reboot it. Has anyone else encountered this?

I should specify, the game isn't frozen while on the character screen, the background animations and music still occur. I just can't interact with any of the button options

Feels random, but as a programmer I can promise you it's not. We just do not have access to the code to figure out the how or why it happens 😄

I did put in a ticket for the bug along with my testing of the ways it can be fixed such as triggering the bow animation, throwing the smoke bombs and even entering and exiting the mode on plot to move the house.

That should help them identify why it's happening. I have theories on it but without access to the code I'll never be sure.

I fished on the black market for the bonus so the fish would come faster. I changed servers every half hour (in real time) and the bait every 10 minutes or so until I had 2 rows in my inventory full of chests. I opened these 16 boxes for five days in a row and got something new every day. It's almost like magic 😄

idk if this is my own superstition or not, but I find catching all flying insects while I hunt them increases the chance of one spawning. After half a day of hunting blue butterflies, there were many that I found spawned in mirror fields when I went looking for them with a buzzy jar

You will need 1 stove, 2 prep and 1 mixing station in order to make that dish.
One of the prep tables is to start and load ingredients into, and the other is to do the actions required.
Eventually you will need 2 of every station in order to make all dishes in the game.

You need to get to certain level of gardening, but not max, to be able to get the preserve jar recipe, it counts as a crafter so you need to have enough licenses to be able to place it
Otherwise, very mundane, as other crafters, you add some vegetables or fruits to it and get jams/preserves/kimchi/canned food

@sly mortar open "friendships" in menu, and tab over to requests. They need to be friends or in server

Open the Player Menu, select "Requests", then switch through the tabs you see (one for requesting things yourself, one for seeing requests of others). The list of others' requests has multiple sub-lists (friends, community and server iirc), open and close them a few times if no requests appear. If still no requests appear, head to a different area (for example, heading home from Kilima or heading to the Elderwood from Bahari) to change your server and try again.

I've found that a temporary solution for the party issue, until a hotfix is implemented, is by entering and then exiting the premium store. Alternatively, the party leader can leave the party, enter and exit the premium store, and then initiate a new party. I've also noticed that after extended gameplay, the server performance gets sluggish, so I usually head to my plot and restart the game for improved performance. I hope these tips help!

There is a bug where having a secondary action assigned to your jump button causes jump to not work occasionally. Reassign any secondary actions to another button.

it’s similar to switch, although some of the native button bindings don’t work (for some reason A doesn’t always work, like for planting seeds you’re supposed to use A but have to use R2.) fishing you definitely need boosts, the worst is when you accidentally hit the back paddles and it brings up chat and you lose the fish. i hate fishing already, it’s objectively the worst on deck out of all the platforms. the hunting has aim assist which i appreciate, but if you hate it, you can’t toggle it off.

honestly the worst part is that chat is near impossible. you have to fiddle around with the settings and i only just got mine so that chat is at least usable, but couldn’t find a way to have everything bound, so i can’t use the emotes collection (im sure someone more familiar with deck would be able to share better bindings.) but even then with chat you have to open it, open the … menu, choose the keyboard, can’t see what you’re typing all slowly, and hit send and hope it didn’t do that thing where it decides you’re trying to message the server instead of nearby/whisper.

tl;dr fishing is terrible, hunting is fine if you are ok with aim assist.

yeah the original bindings in this game are atrocious.
I've also had thumb injuries but that's mainly because I play more than I should. usually I tend to change sprint from the stick buttons which is one thing I'll give the original controls of this game.
placement is also horrible on controller, you basically have to walk out of your house in order to place anything. wish we had a cursor.

of course I'm fairly new so there could very well be a workaround I don't know about.

Hi all! I play on Xbox and have a wireless keyboard attached to my controller. Lately I’ve been having trouble typing (after months of no issues) and I’m struggling to figure out what’s going on. When I hit space on my controller keyboard, normally it brings up the full keyboard on my Xbox screen but instead it just pops up this weird submenu thing I can’t even select from. Palia is basically a cloud save, you're not going to lose progress or not be able to log into the account by shutting down the switch, so it's worth a try to refresh your switch and the connection to Palia servers.

We are basically "auto logged in'" at all times with this game, since we can have only 1 active Palia account per profile on our systems.

And to confirm, you have a palia.com account linked to your account, correct?

Dunno of this helps for your situation, but when I couldn't check the board, I just moved at a different angle to view it and it worked eventually. My guess it's that other (invisible) players were in the way, so I had to maneuver around them. Hope it works for you!

I think they just won't load all the way for me cuz I'm playing on switch. The majority of the time I'm playing, I mostly see "ghost" players or sometimes nothing at all when there's supposed to be someone there. Hardware can't cope with the full splendor of palia 😉

Shut down the PS5 completely and restart it, and then load Palia up. If he has never associated a Palia.com account with the ps5, it should typically go away after a hard restart

And on PS5, his account has to be made on his profile. One profile cannot share multiple Palia logins.

Harvest boost fert is what increases the apples; are you using this or "quality up" fert? Quality up makes them starred, harvest boost increases quantity

I swapped my key binds around for controller since for some reason the interact button was also B so I think the game was getting confused by the input key commanding interact & back, spacing things out at your plot too to avoid overlapping commands

This was the temporary fix I found, relearning new key binds was a bit rough but better than having to hard close the game every few minutes 😅

@wooden spoke you may have to do it in many many steps but it should work.

I'd also try clearing the cache memory on some of your games as this can eat up your system memory if you have a lot of games. Shouldn't affect your save games but you may have to log back in.

Any tips to minimize clipping on switch? I moved the game to the internal storage, it’s the only game not on the SD card. Docked or handheld it’s pretty unplayable. Fully freezes with hunting, bug catching, or fishing so everything gets away. I’m moving so my PC is packed up 😭

Is there any way to use these keybinds on console?
I am on ps5, with a standard ps5 controller, and I have a keyboard connected that I can use for chat.
When I try to assign ‘Equip Belt’ to “v” on my keyboard, it acts like it registered an input but nothing happens.
Anyone know if there’s a trick to this? Or, if I got a new Bluetooth controller with extra buttons, will that work?

I struggle to quickly swap from pick/axe to belt when bugs come out, or from axe to bow when chasing Muujins, and would really love to be able to hotswap more effectively

Double check your audio is fully functional and working as a starting point. But otherwise, switch is ancient hardware for Palia and it struggles a lot. It make take a whole to get connected to a server.

Playing in docked mode is one of the solutions, but they have done a metric ton of optimization over the last year/year half for switch. Simply put, the hardware is just outdated on the switch. It's always going to be an uphill battle to get it "working" as it should.

Soo am I just unlucky or is it one of the million problems on switch? Whenever I'm in the Elderwoods for more than 10 minutes the game starts lagging like crazy and crashes eventually. Can barely get anything done there since the most recent update

I feel this game gets worse and worse for switch every update :( I’m back to waiting for NPCs to spawn in, map takes a couple minutes to open and I lag every few seconds while running around

It honestly does. It’s especially hard in kilima where if you don’t wait a few mins after spawning in everything gets so laggy. They do have a lot of things to fix before switch is functional for gameplay. But it is also the fact that the switch itself is a limiting console.

Something went weird with the lighting in kilima after this patch you aren't crazy (well actually you might be but not with this haha). I play switch in handheld and it kinda hurts my head a bit now

This could be an error that resolved on its own if you shut down your switch completely and let it reboot. Or, you may need to file a support ticket.

I did try to shut down my switch for some time and still nothing happened, this problem has been since the mew update and i did send them a ticket but ig there is so much tickets rn and they haven't had the chance to look at mine yet so i wanted to see if someone had the same problem here or know how to solve it

Hi, I play on xbox and I can't send messages when I'm at a trade table. I can type it out but it just won't send. I have to leave the trade, re type and send it that way.
I've now turned "enable inspect other players" on and off and it still doesn't work. The issue has only started since the update.

Dangggg, I haven't run into that situation/bug just yet while trading. Now when chat glitches out like that, restarting would work or if that person has discord too, ya'll can privately message each other on here, only solution I can think of

Unfortunately, restarting doesn't help. It's been a few days and was hoping it would fix itself but it hasn't. The regular chats work fine which is why it's confusing me so much.

When I first played on the switch the day it was released it was great, grass looked like grass, windmill moved normally. Now it freezes every few seconds and entering kilima is horrible. Grass is now flat green. I only have a switch to play on.
