it was to fix a glitch where people were able to make an abundance of food by using the workbench using only the first ingredient (so for example, if you made hearty vegetable soup, and you had 30 carrots as your starting ingredient and only 15 mushrooms, you would set the workbench to make 30 of an item, start cooking, go back to the workbench so it reset, and then continued cooking, you would receive 90 servings of the soup and you would use all the carrots but only use 1 mushroom)

hey, it's a bit tricky. You can't move them through a box, only through your inventory menu. Click the item you need to move with A, then click the empty slot where you want to place it with A

I guess I am not playing for now. I need to work on my cooking so I am stuck til they patch the cooking issue. There’s a lot of other bugs in game that are bothersome, too so idk maybe I won’t be playing for a while. Especially since the last time I tried to report a bug they insisted I send a photo or video and I tried but my switch wouldn’t send to my phone and so I told them and they insisted I use my phone to take a photo or video of the issue (after I described the issue in detail). Once they finally had the photo THEN they tell me they know about the cooking issue and are working to resolve it. So I took time out my day to tell them about a bug in their game and they knew about it but instead of just telling me they knew and that being the end of it, I had to take extra steps/time before they would give me basic information (we know the cooking bug exists, we are trying to fix it). It was nice for two weeks, I guess. 😂

Running is not smooth it’s choppy and kinda feels like rubber banding a lil. But the worst thing is aiming with bow, omg it’s so slow and delayed. I also notice the graphics are not very clear. The Nintendo switch is simply not powerful enough to handle Palia at full graphical performance. Perhaps they can optimize the game to run a bit smoother but at the end of the day Palia is at the mercy of the relatively weak chip that is on the Nintendo switch console. For instance, Palia runs like a dream on my laptop.

maybe able to help a little for the aiming with a bow being slow, check your settings (+ button all the way down) and check what your aim sensitivity is. by default it's like 0.4, i have mine set to 0.7 and it's much easier to turn and get the hits on both creatures and bugs

but yeah, the switch is a potato with a screen and is in desperate need of a performance update. it's reminding me of how pokemon scarlet and violet started out with how choppy animations looked

I think you’re talking about the food icons? Those are ingredients that you have prepared already. So you can keep track of what you’ve already done so you don’t make extra. If you make extra it just disappears then you’re out an onion.

Is there a way to minimize how many times you get booted back to log screen with “unable to connect” error every time you fast travel or leave home plot. It’s never an issue on PC. But it’s impossible to play on the switch with friends this way. 😩

I've never had this trouble. The only time I've seen the error is if I'm idle too long and the Switch goes to sleep mode or I "pause" it and get booted from the server

If you're bulding the house, you need wood planks not just the raw sapwood. I don't think the game tells you this. You can buy the recipe for the sawmill from ashura starting st lvl 2 foraging i believe

The most it takes me is 2 times if i shut the game off randomly or it crashes. Itll log in no problem but when loading itll have travel failure and kick me back, then the second time it goes right thru. Are you having issue with the character screen or the main menu screen that you put your email/palia id thing in?

The main menu ill have occasional issues with after a crash where itll go red and say unable to connect try again later. In those cases i go watch something for 5 and 10 mins and it connects just fine

When i was having real real bad log in issues was when i was using very bad wifi. It was a struggle to get on and a struggle to play for more than 10mins before i disconnected, and had similar problems to what you described

The only thing that helps with travel failure, and sadly it doesnt help everyone, is to completely empty your furniture storage. You need to take everything down and place it on a lot (most people use an empty on so they dont mess up their normal house space.) I am a switch user and had the travel issues pretty bad until i dumped my furniture. But your mileage may vary. Also the devs themselves reccomend at least trying this fix despite not being guaranteed, its on their known bug list

There are 3 server regions NA EU APAC Palia automatically places you in an instance in the region that provides the best connection to you.

Normally you can sync with friends from any region and end up connected in a different region but cross region syncing is broken right now.

the A button has some issues with it, it doesn’t register or it “double clicks” so like for example if you moved something in your house or crafted something it bugs it a little so if you stood near a light it’d turn it off or on so that might be what’s happening there

i heard that relaunching resets it but it’d be annoying to do that everytime you crafted or for example wanted to move something so best to just do a report as a bug/feedback and let them know if you wanted to

simply press down on the left control stick to bring up the overhead view, go to the building that you don't want and press the y button to pick up the building. all items in the building will be moved to inventory or storage, and the building will be ready to place down fully built if you decide to use it later. Note that you can only pick up "end" pieces, you can't pick up a building in between two sections

It never stopped, its just really glitchy currently. Work arounds are restart before cooking and if stuck while cooking to go into the house menu and back out

Hopefully they fix those glitched soon tho, its infuriating getting halfway thru a recipe to be hit with "could not start recipe"

Try going to the workbench (where you craft furniture) and changing the multiplier up and back to 1 or crafting one item (no multiples) before trying to start a recipe.

Is there any of you who experience wallpapers resetting every time you load in and out of your plot? On one of my harvest houses i use the onyx black as a main colour and stone near the roof, same goes for s large room. Its only thise two i have problems with. I dont know if it is a switch problem or just a general problem im experiencing.

That one i have seen a few times, but stone wallpaper resets into the onyx black wallpaper is a huge difference, just in colour and pattren. Probably easier to explain with pictures. But im not online at the moment.

I've discovered that if I just run around during the chase but don't pick up any, I get participation envelopes. And no freezing.

I also discovered that if you time it right and you are in the middle of a hotpot game (and you actively caught at least one chapaa), the pop up doesn't happen and you get the envelopes.

The pop up will happen if you are in the middle of a conversation. I learned that the hard way when doing the quest.

At this point, I'm just getting 200 participation envelopes and calling it a night. I prefer hotpot anyway

That mechanism is tricky because it's not tapping the button, it's actually holding down the button then letting go once it's in the correct area. Lots of folks make that mistake

A trick someone told me about with the chappa chase is near the end, go to a hot pot game and join. When the chase ends, you won't get the pop up screen with the end results. It'll display the envelopes you gained on the left side. If you don't want to actually play hot pot, don't leave right away when you see the envelope total, as it could still give you the screen. But wait a little bit and then exit the hot pot.

This has worked for me every time to stop the result screen from freezing in place.

@hardy blaze I have found the Pro is the best of the lot, but as @nimble vector said, it's still not perfect. I recommend everytime you are are in a holding pattern, like the screen is loading, you put the controller down and do some hand and finger exercises to relieve the repetitive strain on those joints.

I got the one for the wolves (sorry can’t remember what they are called) and it marked it completed but I don’t have the wall mount decoration. I completed it with my boyfriend and he got the mount. If I party up (very rare tbh) I tell people I'm on switch and can't type well. I've also learned to make good use of autocomplete which I didn't even realise was a thing before lol. I find "omw" is now the first option when I press "o". But for real conversations, keyboard or touch typing undocked are your only real options

It could be the sensitivity you have toggles for gameplay. Try going into the Palia game setting to decrease the speed of camera angle movement. That’s what I had to do.

I thought this bug was squished ages ago in the PC version but... I now have an issue on Switch where literally all of my machines are stuck at 0 and won't give me anything. I can't cancel the crafts either, so they're just stuck on my plot, as I'm unable to pick them up. I've tried a bunch of things to reset them or get rid of them even but so far no luck, which is pretty frustrating to put it mildly considering I now can't generate currency at home and the Maji Market isn't crap.

If you take screenshots on the switch they go onto the switch. You can access them in the album on the home screen before enter the game then click the a button and it will let you see the image and give you options. There is a sharing and editing button and from there you can choose how get your photo. I have them sent to my phone and they will give you directions on how to proceed when you choose your options.

Can confirm I got envelopes from Chappa Chase when results froze my game and I had to restart. Happened multiple times and I still got the envelopes.

Yeah, that's not how it works. The game ends as soon as a player has 3 sets of 3, you don't have to hit a button.

The first 3 times I tried to do a honey lure, my game crashed right before I dropped the lure. All 3 times I had several people there for the lure. So embarrassing!

Yeah like signamix said, it’s a known issue for switch players. My current workaround is to jump into a hotpot game before Chase timer runs out. The results screen never pops up and I don’t have to restart. Plus, I get another hotpot match in and get more lucky envelopes 🧧

Almost every time. I think her house has too many assets to load. So what I do is stop a bit from her hosue and face it, give it some time until things become clearer. Like I can see more inside. Then I take a few steps forward. Wait again. I just do this over and over again, giving time to let the lights and things load.

It works most of the time.

But I have finished my friendship with her, so I'm not going back in there if I can help it! I try to find her out and about in the afternoon and evening.

I've discovered if you go to the wardrobe next to the fast travel and change clothes, you'll no longer be invisible. However when you open the wardrobe, it will be a default look that loads, and not what you looked like before entering.

To avoid having it reset your character, you should be able to turn around and leave the market then immediately re-enter and no longer be invisible at the market. It’s worked for me every time.

Edit: Can open chests/crafting machines just fine and chat with NPCs isn’t an issue. Just seems to be specifically looting, placing items on my plot outside of the housing menu and HotPot.

The hot pot one is well recorded. You almost always have to hit a twice to actually draw or pick a card

Ive had the loot one happen as well, its like the game stops registering certain a presses

As for not placing anything on the plot, there is some weirdness after placing just 1 item that makes the a press "stick" unless you enter and exit the menu that if you run up to anything interactable especially chests and lights itll activate them

You also have to make sure you click in the right joystick when on your plot to activate place mode for items, if youre in that mode and its not registering, then that one is new to me

You also have to place it away from your character cause they count as an obstacle

you have to hold the "a" button down when you start it and then release at the target. it's weird, it looks like it should be that you hit the a button at the target but you don't. same goes for stirring, you hold the a button until the ring hits the edge

If you join a hot pot game before the end of the chapa chase, it won't show you the reward screen and you won't get stuck. You'll still get your results from the chase.

I just let everyone think I am either too lazy to use punctuation, or I don’t know how to 🤷‍♀️ When I first turn the keyboard on it puts me in the switch keyboard screen. I have to click out of it. I also often have to open and close the chat box more than once to even be able to type at all. I really hope the next switch fixes all these problems.

you can't get the void ray in ponds, only in caves - so either the one in the mines, or you can go to the water temple inside phoenix falls. the mines are best because the temple doesn't have fishing hotspots and you're more likely to get a fishing buff from other players at the mines

You know that you can call a founded tree out in the chat? Most time there are much players who are happy to know it and come to your shared location.
At night in rl time... it can be difficult because the server is empty

Ok so I got my keyboard controller to work! For anyone that buys one of these, if you have trouble with connecting….. turn on the controller, then turn on the switch, then take the usb receiver out of console and plug back in. It should work after that. I found several different tricks and this one seems to be the one that works the most.

I use a switch pro controller with my switch on the dock sometimes. I love having the big screen. I would love to be able to hook up headphones and microphone so we can talk live in game.

Oh ok. My method is only for handheld. For the switch there you can use a special docking station with bluetooth dongle and so on. Maybe you find some on amazon when you search for it. Okietess has a great idea posted... if thats the right for you

Yea the switch oled screen is definitely alot brighter than original. I find myself turning brightness down in hand held mode alot lol.. Especially at night before bed.. I'm guessing it would really brighten Palia up like other games. Think you get abit more internal storage on oled too. But is it worth investing another £300 + for a new switch oled.. I'm not sure. Personally I love the switch loads, and had some extra cash so wanted the latest upgrade so I sold my original and bought an oled.. Love it, but original is great too..

I was completely new to Palia, so didn't know if it be worth creating an online account for something I not tried yet. Now I completely love the game and have been hooked for months. You can’t change your player name. Hopefully they add that. But as far as I’m aware, you don’t need to link your accounts as it’s cross-progression so your progress saves across platforms. Don’t take my word for it as I only play on switch but that’s my understanding.

You need to have an s6 account which you sign in to play on switch this allows you data to be accessed on pc etc

so when you like first load up the game on switch youcan either start playing or create an s6 account, which then automatically links itself to your switch and allows for process to be shared to other platforms

I've seen videos of people playing on the PC and changing the size/style of passageways from room to room but I can't find that option on the switch. Is there a way to do it?

In the over-head view (click down on left stick), move the cursor over the room/hallway that you want to change the doorway for and I think you click down with the right stick. A new menu pops up to change window shapes and doorway shapes.

I've heard that switch users can't have too many items on their plot because the game will start freezing and will potentially lock you out of the game indefinitely until you can log onto a PC and delete items. Have any switch players had success with heavily decorating a plot or had the above problem happen to them?

i haven't reached that far so i couldn't tell. i do know that sometimes when i'm on my plot, the game does lag even though i don't have many items, was just in the area for a long time but once i leave and come back it fixes itself

This may sound like a very dumb question, especially coming from someone who has owned a switch since pretty much the beginning lol But, can I just use a wireless keyboard with my switch? I've never had a need for one until Palia, so I guess I've just never looked into it. But it would make it much easier than trying to use the on-screen keyboard

so keyboard will work when using the chatbox, but i think the more important issue is getting a keyboard that connects correctly to the switch - my understanding is that you can't just connect via regular bluetooth without some kind of adapter/dongle (but my info may be out of date)

I ended up getting a Hori USB playstand for mine so i i just plug in the keyboard i already have and it all connects through the USB playstand. So far so good. I considered it worth the investment because i play a couple of other games with a chat function that was painful on switch 🥲

Ooh, thank you. I was considering buying a usb keyboard, since my switch stays docked 99% of the time, so I won't have to worry about bluetooth issues. There are usb ports already on the dock, I currently use one for my network cable adapter, so those should hopefully work just fine for hooking up a keyboard as well

I use a wireless controller and a wireless usb dongle keyboard. No mouse... What would you want to use the mouse for?
The keyboard can only be used to type the basic letters in chat, you cant use it to play the game like a normal pc keyboard

I don’t know what the back of the switch looks like. There must be a connector. The usb c port is on the bottom of it. So when it’s not docked if you have a usb to c cable you connect the small end to the switch and the larger to the keyboard.

Oh, okay. If you had a smaller keyboard that you could bring, and it had a usb-c adapter instead of the larger regular usb adapter, it should work. But I think because it's plugged into that grey hub, that's what's causing the problem
