Yeah, am fine with only 4 myself (1 of each cause I like having 1 of everything) but I like playing around with more cause I know some people might want that. Though I might switch to this one for a while cause I saw people say canned beans is great food for ranch animals and I am a bit too lazy to constantly cook meals for them lol

Do you mean your overall character level is 11 or your gardening level is 11? Cause that's 2 completely different things
Gardening is lvl 11. Apologing for the confusion! I find the game pretty overwhelming, so i gotta start somewhere to figure things out. Maybe I should just copy some of the lay outs in here ?
There definetely are some good beginner layouts in here. I wouldn't know what to recommend cause I just planted willy-nilly whatever crop I had access to when I 1st started until I slowly started figuring out how gardening actually worked lol. But if tou look up "beginner" in the channel some layouts should pop up
There’ so much to read, I’ll try make something out of it, thank you!
Oh, look at the pictures instead of the messages, it's way less overwhelming
Oh wauw yes, that’s awesome! 🤩
what if im not that high lol
Then use quality up until it's no longer relevant. Peppers and cotton also give the quality up boost so when you have access to those, use them in your garden so you don't have to use as mucj fertilizer
What's the overall character lvl for mines 78
It’s not really for anything. It’s just the sum of all your skill levels combined
?🩷
I need the best layout overall to get money, I'm broke
Maybe this post (and the one it links to) will help #🌱│gardening message
I’m level 55 in game and level 5 gardening. Kinda gone Willy nilly from what I’ve had but I think I wanna try making a real garden soon. I just don’t have access to blueberries or know where to get anything else
i need a good layout for just 5 garden plots
Im makin gmy garden now, but my 4 apple trees are in their own area so i only have 5 plots left
I was able to plant my first apple tree last night. I’m very confused about why it keeps screaming for more fertilizer. How much fertilizer does it need? I found conflicting information on the Interwebs and thought I would ask here to see if an expert might help me. I’m super excited to have apple trees, but I’m a little confused about the whole fertilizer thing.
All crops will use 1 fertiliser per in-game day per tile the crop occupies.
Trees take up 9 tiles, so use 9 fertiliser each in-game day.
No fertiliser will be used if the same buff that the fertiliser is giving is also given by adjacent crops (trees need 3 tiles of adjacent crops with a buff to get it, eg for harvest boost, 3 rice or 1 rice and 1 beans plant that has 2 tiles touching)
Guys, I've been playing for like 1,5 week and I have 15 lvl gardening. I got two questions.
-
Should I sell all the seeds without the star? I think I'll only use the starred crops for now and convert them to starred seeds as needed.
-
Are there any updated graphics or spreadsheets showing which items are best processed into seeds and which into preserves, and how to best plan my soils to maximize profits or obtain the most products for cooking?
for the profit tracking:
https://www.paliatracker.com/gold-profit
regarding the seeds, you start getting a guaranteed chance for star quality produce in Palia around level 25, once you start getting star seeds just keep those til you reach 25 and then it wont matter which you use
oh also you said you just stared playing right? if you look at the pin section of this tread ( its the pin on the top of the screen) there are tons of resources there to help you with gardening tips ❤️
Gardening level 25 or character? And how big is this chance? Thanks! <3
This website (I've seen it before) only shows profits of each product but there's no list what's the most profitable. I can't sort by the highest profit :/
Okay, so I just realized I was smart and saved my garden layout to the app and put the link in a notepad file... but it's missing a potato on the corner. Is there a way to edit it? I haven't been on this page in forever.
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app?layout=v0.2_DIM-111-111-111_CROPS-PSpSpTSpSpPTP-TCoTPCoPTCoT-SpSpPSpSpTPTP-OPCrCTROPW-AAAAAAAAA-CPCrOTRCPW-PTPTSpSpPSpSp-TCoTPCoPTCoT-PTPSpSpTSpSpP
v0.2_DIM-111-111-111_CROPS-PSpSpTSpSpPTP-TCoTPCoPTCoT-SpSpPSpSpTPTP-OPCrCTROPW-AAAAAAAAA-CPCrOTRCPW-PTPTSpSpPSpSp-TCoTPCoPTCoT-PTPSpSpTSpSpP
Oh no... I see there are new veggies too. Which means I'll have to figure out what else I need now.
oh, and my peppers are blue berries.. maybe I'll just make a new layout and use this one as a cheat sheet
ya gotta do a bit of research as far as i know, i think there are just too many variables to make a comprhensive planner like the one you just linked for jars and seeds
there is this reddit post I use
https://www.reddit.com/r/Palia/comments/19dyu4w/should_i_make_this_crop_into_seeds_or_preserves_i/
It's old, it has 2 years...
a quck google gave me this one, updated a year ago
https://www.reddit.com/r/Palia/comments/1bvukot/which_one_is_better_seed_collector_or_preserver/
Old as well, it has no pumpkins... Thanks for help but I'm asking for a UPDATED info...
You got this 🦾
Also you can edit by just placing the new seed you want over the old one, it will replace it
If you look on the garden planner there are 3 lines next to the overview section, it's called like processing settings I think
I use that to see how much profit I'll be making with seeds and jars but like I said there are too many variables to have a comprehensive list so unfortunately you gotta do your own research and try out things and see what works best for you
Also there is a possibility that maybe there is a list and I'm not aware of it, so keep checking in and asking questions - there is always someone in here who knows more that is willing to help
i think this is the main thing people learn from, its from the garden planner, lots of info on here
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bjqQGwzhW7wsIpSDoO3xCMwqbX7ZbsdsuuXmPEXCrjE/edit?tab=t.0
there ya go hahah i knew there would be someone, thanks Astrea!
My garden have a problem
Why this space
Which crop grows the fastest?
is jsut a glitch it will function as if its in the correct spot and will display it properly if u water it a little
Worked
how often should fertilizer be used? I feel like im wasting it honestly
once per growthtick
and dont fill all the way to 99 it vanishes sometimes
It does for everyone, it's just a glitch. It won't affect your crop growth in any way tho
I wish we had more gardening plots
Anyone know the max amount of crafters you can have on one plot? Wait is there a max amount per account? Like the only 9 plots thing
Oh wait the wiki says 30 but is that per account or plot?
Why do flower bushes keep going back to seed?
Whenever i water them, flowers return back to seed instead of growing
u can only have 30 max of the not cookign or workbench or painting ones
after getting their seed or not?
i only know abouit soil crops turning back in time but flwoers dang
I think its bug after the update
Btw i am talking about the colour flowers
The ones we get from flower event
idk i still havent made my flower plot yet
Hey @floral talon can I pick your brain for a minute and show you my old plot layout and my new one? And maybe you could double check my work XD I've been staring at the screen too long and my brain is mush
yes thats what im here for
im not procrastinating actually important stuff or something
Ok so I wanted to add apples and beans and keep my profits similar to my old layout
I don't care about weeds, only afk watering and I need at least 2 cotton plants for fabric and I'm lvl 50 so I don't need to worry about star quality
First one is my old and second one is the new
old
new
I need at least 2 cotton plants for fabric <- u do not just buy it
i like just dumping from my garden to my fabric maker cause adhd and will forget to buy
sigh fair
well since u dont care about the weedblock u can just replace any weedblock crop wiht those hten without it affecting the layout at least
can u give me the layotus as links plz so i can do profit calc magic with it otherwise id have to remake them
Oo and I dump harvest boost on everything
Sure one sec
how many apples beans and blueberrys do u need?
its still weird how im soooo good at gardening layotus but so bad aat ranching
honestly i dont care about the blueberrys i was just using them as a harvest boost
i eat the beans instead of cooking so I like to have at least 2
but i suspect the key to ranching is to only go for production buffs
the bokchoi layout to plz
oo and aples are for honey lure
do u need 1 or 2
i thought 2 for more profit? but brain mush so prob wrong on that XD
i really only need one for lures tho
yeay apples are kinda low on money production but they are way elss work cuz need little harvesting and u can harvest and reseed 9 tiles at once
Then just dump into the preservers, easy peasy
ok so im first gonna remake ur layout sinto their most money variants and then we can check if thats good enuff otherwise i can make a new one with ur requirements for most moneys
We need a ranching guru 😆 I'm terrible at it too
cysrulean is working on gathering mechanics data and numbers
but if my hunch is correct all the production speed ones are always best
Oh man I love this community, it gives dnd group vibes idk how to explain it. Like everyone just nerdy and into the work
ok so this is kinda it if i dont alter ur layouts but just go fo rmax crop value choices
yeay so ur apple and beans layout i gotto remake it if its to be in the high gold range
no fiddling to it can bump it up past 4400
You are a savior!
And I'm fine with altering layout for profit if I can keep afk watering (apples, beans n cotton) and can I ask a question? I always stay away from potatoes because of the processing time and usually go with cabbage
Is the profit to processing time on potatoes that much better that adding 5 days to the processing makes it worth it?
theya re 50% better hten cabbage
hangon lemme just do a quick example
cabbagejar 1140
tomatojar 1438 per growthtick for 27HB
potatoseeds 1776
but i still personally love cabbage potato combo cuz im lazy
Oh dang so if I run cabbage twice I make the same as one potato run? So it makes no difference really, I should just stick with potatoes so I don't have to keep loading the processors
Good to know 🫶 ty
wth tomatoes are better hten beans interesting
i mean potatoes are more effort to dumpo intop the crafters cuz they get clogged so theres that
Hahaha they get clogged? What?
i mean try ptuting a stack of tators into the seeders it wont work it will only process half
so then u can just conveniently click to put an entire stack in no u gotto put stack in inventory open inventory splkit stack then put it in and u need to clear twice as many crafters for the same amount of produce
but yeay im like plant only needs harvesting once every 5 growthticks nice im gonna make that six so everything is only once every 6 i got better stuff to do with my fertslurper 3000 apple farm
how many beans do u need again?
Oooooo I know what you're talking about now, sorry I literally imagined potatoes not fitting in the seeders and overflowing on the ground XD like out of a carton or something
Ive had a long day XD my brain went straight to cartoons jokes
audhd confirmed ;P
Just 2 really
Hahhaha maaaaaybe
ok so after encalcing the fert penalty cuz u could sell the fert ur money layout is at 5400 coins per growthtick
This is really smart actually
Oh I just get my fert from my worms but thatS so sweet of you to include that in your calculations ty!
yeay it ownt be an accurate profit margin if u dont substract inputs
maybe i should do accounting ...
Heheh if accounting was so completely boring stuck in a cubicle all day XD
followed a vid on utube about it and hes liek so after tracking these numbers i found out that these guys are criminals and stuff like that XD (but he does accounting/investigative journalism soo)
Hahha yeah anything corporate is gonna be criminal really XD
i call this the jiyuka layout this is the best possible with ur specific demands
u want more or less these crafter ratios
Hahahhaha I love the name and holy crap this layout is waaaaay better
Max I wanna do is 10 crafter's really, I'm just lazy XD
well uc an clicko nthe link and slect that one needing the most crafter time up that one till u hit 10crafters total used which is the amount u want and hte cotton is just 1 loom
then why do u want so muhc bokchoi XD the most tryhard crop
Hahaha tru 😆 I just thought they made the most money and I was low leveled and desperate when I made the bokchoi plot XD
well if u want to make real money keep track of the cooking partys and go use the mawshimi ones 😄
u could make the layotu lazier by adding its own harvest boost crops more into it but meh u can ask me next time
Oh man I really gotta get into those, I had joined a community and we had planned on making a community plot for cooking parties that I filled with giant funguys and made a bouncy maze for but then my schedule changed and I couldn't stay in the community cause they weren't in a European time zone and I could never find good time slot to meet up
Awe thank you but I'm good, you did so much for me already! I really appreciate it tysm you saved my brainXD
awh thats sucks so much imagine finding ur tribe and losing i like that
Yeah but there are so many communities in Palia, I'm sure I'll find a new one soon 😊
Ok I'm done spamming the chat XD thanks again! Really appreciate it 🫶
All of a sudden, the bushes from the bloom event revert to young status when they are supposed to mature. All the flowering bushes.
Yeah it's a known bug, it will be fixed in the upcoming hotfix tho
from bloom so not the plotgrown?
Trying to get the most out of apples, pumpkins, potatoes, wheat, and onion. Is there a better layout than this one?
hey im nw here but whats the easiest and best way to make money
heres my lazy planners if anyone wants em 🙂
the 99% water is the lonesome tomato in the center
im the type of person whos never home so i dont wanna worry about watering or weeding fr
i dont even know what this is or how to do one lol
Is there valued botany?
Like what if I want to grow a field of flowers instead of veggies?🥺
Currently, for the amount of time you put into it, it’s not worth all that much to care for flowers.
I mean, they’re free (therfore they’re profit without investment, in a way) but it definitely pales in comparison to farming veggies
If use star seeds n got ur layout sorted does it mean u dont have to use fertz nomore?
Very much depends on your gardening level, what buff coverage you want and your layout.
If you're just talking about quality up fertiliser, then as your level gets higher it becomes less and less beneficial as you're more likely to get star crops (guaranteed at level 25 with star seeds).
Otherwise, if you want 100% water retain, harvest boost and weed block buff coverage, you will always need at least 4 fertiliser (corners can only get 2 buffs from adjacent crops, so the 3rd has to come from fertiliser). You could need more, depending on what you are trying to fit into the layout
If you don't care for having full coverage of one the buffs, then you can easily get away with no fertiliser
Ren has a compilation of the higher value layouts here #🌱│gardening message
Ultimately, best for money is the most annoying - it's full bok choy with full harvest boost fertiliser and manual watering/weeding.
Most people opt for layouts you don't need to water/weed (of which there are several in that post).
For most profit, crops you want to seed: Bok Choy, Potatoes, Rice, Wheat, Beans
Crops you want to preserve - everything else
(This assumes you have time to process everything in the crafter, but as crafters run overnight while you sleep, unless you play a lot, it usually is fine. If you aren't processing everything, the maths gets a lot more complicated)
Im lazy so i just want decent money with minimal effort tbh. Im never home at this point cus i got so many quests going on
#🌱│gardening message
Have a look at this post and the layouts it links to.
Some good lazy options there
Just unlocked apple trees n got 9plots so im able to use layouts properly
Apples are best for lazy layouts 🙂
hiii does anyone know what are good crops to plant next to each other
Most efficient is to plant a crop next to something else that gives the same buff, then have a pair of crops with a different buff next to them.
For example, if in a 2x2 square you have a potato and tomato next to a Bok Choy and onion, each of those 4 crops get the water retain and weed block buffs.
It's harder to do it as efficiently with the larger crops but still possible.
Water retain crops - tomato, potato, cabbage
Weed block crops - Bok Choy, onion, carrot
Harvest boost - rice, wheat, corn, beans, apple, blueberries
Quality up - only 1 single tile crop (cotton) and 2 2x2 crops (pumpkin, spicy pepper)
okayy thank youu
anyone know of a good layout for afk gardening with 4 apple trees? I can almost get there but there's always a few that I miss with either weeds or water. I don't mind using fertilizer on the trees but I'd rather not have to go around to all the small 1x1 crops and fertilize them
really close to what I was working on! thanks!
There might be better ones idk, you can search afk apples in the gardening channel and a bunch of stuff will come up ❤️
This could be of help. #🌱│gardening message
Sylva tended to skip the issue of some crops not being fully covered by water/weed buffs by just focusing on harvesting the apples and bushes for optimal afk-ing
yep, i only tended them for the aesthetic of the grown crops afterwards it was just the apples and beans that i dealt with
i am currently level 4 gardening. any tips to level up the skill quickly?
every crop i harvested and resseeded when its done producing givees hte same xp /tile
so upgrade ur focus bonus on the pheanic statue and ur bar size at the dragon statue is all u can do really and keep em growing
For early mid
no just no
I need a garden with 100% water retain and a lot of rice pls
how better? for early mid
its low HB and low quality up
hb use fertilicer and use seed quality
with 13 water fertilizer and 13 guard ferilicer
I need a garden with 100% water retain and a lot of rice pls
I have a couple everything gardens with lots of rice and 100% water/weedblock here #🌱│gardening message
This one isn't in the list cause I made it after but it's got 16 grain tiles #🌱│gardening message
I just need something where I can harvest everything at once
Or at least as fast as possible
no, they don't produce seeds
hi does anyone have a garden layout with 100% weed prevention + water retain featuring all crops? just came back after a break and would like to add pumpkins and beans to my current anti-weed pro-water garden. ty! (current plot including for reference)
#🌱│gardening message - Astrea has a compilation of them 🙂
Hope one of them suits!
why does the lower left blueberries not retain water, while its the same set-up as the other two
It's not the same setup - the other 2 have cabbage on both sides of it, the lower left has a single cabbage on one side of it.
2x2 crops need 2 tiles of adjacent crops for a buff to activate. As you can see, that's 2 cabbage in your case to get water retaining.
It also doesn't get weed block from that bok choy either.
FYI, apples need 3 adjacent tiles of a buff to get that buff
It's basically saying that all adjacent crops on one side of 2x2/3x3 must be giving a buff in order for that buff to activate (but you can spread it out over as many sides as you want)
ahh okay thanks!
btw, if you replace those 3 Bok Choy under the Apple trees with rice/wheat/corn, all apples will get harvest boost
oooh hmmmm, i like the boychoy to make into the bottle things to sell them
Bok Choy are profitable for sure, but the Apples not having harvest boost is also a big loss in profit
Have a look at what the profit numbers say in the calc if you swap them out
i find gardening very confusing.. i just want to make some money, and some easy food to feed to the ranch animals. 100% water retain used to be very good since it would keep growing when offline but not sure if it still does that
if you plant a star quality seed, is it guarenteed you get star quality to harvest?
That's never how water retain worked, sorry.
Gardening works on 'growth ticks'. Every in-game 6am, all players' gardens get a growth tick if that player was online within the past hour. All crops that are watered, weeded and not already harvestable will grow one day's worth of growth.
So whilst you play, you get 1 growth tick per hour at 6am, then you get 1 additional growth tick the 6am after you get off. That's it.
Star quality seeds only guaranteed star quality crops if you are level 25 gardening or higher. They always give a +25% chance of star quality crops, and you always have a 25% chance to start with. So star seeds instantly give you 50% chance. You then get +2% per gardening level.
Feeding animals raw crops is very inefficient, I would recommend preserving stuff first. Canned Beans are incredibly good for animals and one of the best foods you can actually feed them now that star quality makes a difference to the focus animals gain.
I'll dig out some posts with different styles of layouts for you
oh yeah i did mean preserving the bokchoy and cabbage, not just raw
Profitable layouts (single-tile crops are best for profit) - #🌱│gardening message
The Bullseye is a common recommendation as it is decent money, the 4 fertiliser is minimal and could be ignored if wanted, yet it still has great buff coverage. You can even put Beans in the corners like so #🌱│gardening message
Lazy layouts - #🌱│gardening message
Everything layouts (one of every crop, some people) - #🌱│gardening message
i now have it like this so the apples get the harvest boost and star from the cotton, some beans for the animals after canning them, as well as cabbage. potatoes and blueberry jam to sell
Bok choy preserve is a rather expensive food to give the animals, imo, but it's definitely convenient if you are growint it already
What gardening level are you btw?
Definitely an improvement 🙂
18
thing is, i know you can cook some things like steaks as well for the animals, but i dont play that often and the rythem game for the cooking i dont always feel like doing that
Nothing wrong with that
At level 18, even without Cotton, using star seeds gets you at a 86% chance of star quality crops btw
at the moment this is what my garden in game looks like. i used the upper row to 'catch the weeds' and let them stay there so no more could spawn but im planning to play a bit more active again so was looking for some better ways to do the garden
For me personally, I wouldn't tend to bother with the cotton for a 14% chance of star crops
ahh okay. i used to cotton to turn into seeds to just sell them lol
'Catching the weeds' is not a reliable method, it can cause crops to revert, or 'ungrow'
ohjh really, i didnt know that
You're allowed to do this, they're not bad profit, though Bok Choy/Potatoes/Rice/Wheat (seeded) and tomatoes/corn (preserved) are better than cotton for profit and give useful buffs
are pumpkins and spicy peppers also preserves?
im looking at some of the layouts you send and it seems like this one if very profitable https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.4_D-111-111-111_CR-T.HP.HSBk.HC.HST.HPBt-SP.HTSOBkBtRW-ROBk.HCrPTAAA-BkCBtAAAAAA-BtCbPBkC.HBkCbPB-AAAAAABCBk-AAATPCrBk.HOR-WRBBkOPmTP.HPm-BPT.HPmC.HBk.HPmP.HT.H_D360NrcL75
sorry for all the question, i have some medications that make me tired and give me brain frog, so trying to figure out whats best to do is veyr hard atm
Pumpkins and spicy peppers are both best preserved, but they are the 2 worst crops for profit (pumpkins are really bad).
Seed - Bok Choy, Potatoes, Rice, Wheat, Beans, Cotton
Preserve - everything else
I like that Everything Garden of Astrea's, it's a nice pattern and the fertiliser requirement isn't too high.
Everything Gardens don't tend to be the most profitable, they're intended as a way to have everything available if you need it
Apples btw are very middling for profit, but they are super convenient to grow as you can leave them for a few hours if you get distracted and not miss much
Not a problem, happy to try and help
i thought bok choy was better preserved?
If you are able to process everything with no backlogs forming, then the above is what gives the most profit overall. Bok Choy seeds are the single best source of profit per tile out of all crops, by something like 20% over the next best option (seeding potatoes).
If you cannot process everything without backlogs (either you play too much, or don't have enough crafters), then things get more complicated.
Bok Choy Preserves generate more profit per hour than seeds do, but less overall profit.
As I said, it just makes things a lot more complicated.
Just remember:
- Crafters run while you are not playing the game, it goes a long way to helping prevent backlogs
- Even if you use other crafters a lot while you play, overnight you can replace them with seeders/preserve jar if you need to
i think im gonna go with this layout that was also in the list. its very easy to oversee to plant:
and then make preserves from: apples, tomatoes, onions and half of the beans (easy animal food)
and then the seeds from: bok choy, rice, wheat, potatoes, and other half of the beans
might not be the most profitable thing ever, but i thin kits managable for my play style
and still a lot better than my current garden lol
its also exactly the amount of preserves and seed machines i currently have
Yeah, that's a good layout. It's a very good afk layout, most of the crops are regrowing so makes things a lot easier
The only issue is it needs bought fertiliser, though I'm not bothered by that personally
Some people hate going to Zeki's to buy the weed block/hydro pro
what happens if you dontt do the fertiliser>
Then you would need to manually weed/water some of the single tile crops
aahh
Well, almost all of them have 1 buff or the other provided by fertiliser there
My way around that is buy stacks of fertiliser one day, then you are set for a few weeks
You can place up to 99 fertiliser on each tile, and it uses one each growth tick
Most people don't play more than 6h a day, so it should last the average person at least 2 weeks if not more (lasts me longer)
can you stack them on the crops or is it one at a time and wait till the buff runs out
ahh ok
any low maintenance layout that contains most if not all crops?
I linked a bunch 10 mins ago #🌱│gardening message
ty!!
thats very doable then., i will just buy a stack
and worse case some smaller crops grow a bit slower lol
at least nothing can die in this game
Buy a stack for each crop, hope you don't get Repetitive Strain Injury from all the clicking it on the crops, repeat in a few weeks time. That's my cycle 😄
thanks!
im gonna wait till my current apple trees and blueberry bushes are done, which should be very soon since they have already gone a few rounds. and then ill go and place this layout
Honestly, ranching should work with the same gimmick of the progress (in this case just aging) stops if you haven't been online. It's so punitive to casual players rn
I get what they're going for with Ranching, but yeah, it's not for everyone rn
Anyone have a more efficient pumpkin pumper for this patch?
My requisites: Minimal attention needed (hydrated/weedblocked), followed by maximum pumpkin per time
Yeah so I am not yet convinced that pumpkins are all bad for all personal preferences/needs (I specifically want to consider people who can only log in for one tending a day and doing the math on apples vs pumpkins for this [I am currently doing apples] as well as throughput needs/profit for preserving)
how many pumpkins are needed for the board?
25 outright, then a couple pumpkin dishes
then i can keep that in mind for the layout
Personally I am not highly interested in hitting the minimum requisite as a factor. I want to leave it running for 24hrs or whatever to fill the board and build a backstock (improbable but not impossible we'll need some for next holiday)
oh so pure pumpkin layout to comp everything plus stockpile?
I just want maximum pumpkins specifically for the time I leave it up before I go through the effort of converting back
With zero watering/weeding after ferts
I generally ascribe to minimalist layouts so I can focus my active gaming time on other stuff lol
so u want a pumpkins once and done layout yes yes with afk and no waste
fertiliser allowed ic ic
Yeyeye
I am searching channel for pumpkin mentions as we speak as well but I like active conversation and collaboration
Hiii 👋🙂
Hello hello!
thats exactly the way to do things but we dont have a pumpkin layout since pumpkins are SOOOO bad to farm normally
Yeah I considered that but given the holiday needs and how I know some are like me and get so much joy out of optimizing this stuff I figured I'd check :P
Seems my considerations are pretty singular though
For reference, I do an apple farm (pictured) while maintaining crops necessary for bean burger cooks. I frequently only bother tending when apples are ready for harvest (re-upping the 9x and 4x fert plots each time I do this)
Also the old "alternate left two" is a relic from when I was using Soon Tofu for focus food before hitting over 800 focus pool
It's not the most profitable over time assuming maximal tending, but yeah, I do not like tending the garden and just want my best profit for tending once maybe twice a day
something like this is hte best i could come up with
Though I am starting to reconsider that having farmed my butt off with fishing, mining, etc, for weeks now and just wanting max profit per time (I find myself now having an abundance of time and loose schedule so I could really maximize profit w a tend type garden)
of course htis thing is not minmaxed fully its just minmaxed towards max afk pumpkins
the cabbage and onions dont have their buddy crop
Yeah that's essentially what I did, though interspersing the Weed/Hydrate crops like I did on mine lets them cross-buff one another to prevent excessive fert needs
I am however curious about your final row design and wanna play w that!
ok so this one has 141 pumpkins produced per pumpkin cycle(15 growhtticks till those things are fully done once)
I am doing my own comparative analysis in a way that omits a need for the actual crop conversions lol (number of Pumpkin plots, counting fully ferts as 1.5 ea. 'tism brain likes doing it this way XD)
mh u probs have the same amount since u got one plant more but 2 dont have HB
but lemme check
but yeah your horizontal extension seems like it is a bit more efficient
Oh wait no
You have 3x full which is 4.5 pumpkin output, making mine that comes out to 5 just slightly better
We love math lolololol
yeay u got 3 extra pumpkins
I'm not as innately gifted with the grid-space, asymmetric crop sizes, and tyring to consider buff calculations in my head so I find this stuff all really fun to play with and to develop my feel for the emergent patterns that lead to efficiency
Seems like I hit the nail on the head though this time
Might finally have it down
It would be really cool to see them introduce like 2 2x2 and 2 1x1 placeable plots to increase complexity (as well as creativity. I love non-3x3 arrangements)
3x3 3x3 arrangements*
only for 2x2s puring do unot want a rectangle cuz corner theory and 2x2s not fitting into 3x3s
I mean the whole point is it would open up all kinds of different optiosn depending on what crops you wanna focus and how you fit in the smaller plot pieces
Like I have had some ideas where it would be GREAT if I had just one 1x1 plot slapped on the side to give a final crop for a buff to the primary crop already in the 3x3
having the soils not be same size oculd be interesting but i mostly just want corps to buff the exact same type crops
The complexity potential would be enormous
Ehhh that's both against the spirit of companion planting in permaculture and regenerative agriculture and also it would greatly linearize efficiency models
i think the first layout u send me is hte most pumpkins afk per pumpkin cycle possible
Yeah I think so as well. I appreciate you affirming :D
(I've actually studied non-traditional agriculture/horticulture including the aforementioned schools for the last 12 years and it's so, so neat to see a game introducing some of the basic concepts into its mechanics in a way that makes it a simple and fun puzzle)
Tree guilds, companion planting (a super common one being the Native American's 'Three Sisters' grouping w corn/beans/squash) and similar practices can actually increase yield/acre Irl by like 12x or more (can remember if that was in terms of poundage of food, caloric conversion of food, or profit, but either way!)
As well as drastically reduce need for inputs like fertilizers and bug sprays, way healthier for the ecosystem
can't remember*
oh wonderful, I super appreciate you flushing out the ferts and making a keenly searchable and linked version
imagine if we didnt optimise only cost/weight of produce sigh
Lol DM me if you want the darker and more complex reality behind the agricultural industry
your welcome and kudos for ur trick to squeeze out half a crop(if not hbed value) more production that would i could come up with
still i think i was 99% efficient XD
Yeah training myself to consider non-harvest-boosted crops for end sections was tough lol
a layout is not finished till the fertiliser is properly included
Yeah my brain just fills those in automatically for me when I play for it on a personal level. I woulda done the same but again super appreciate you taking initiative and saving me the time for making a proper guide
ok i was almost 98% max efficient grrrr
i like these pixel art puzzles till i only use the fertslurper afk apples myself
S2G if they keep this up it'll be a PRIME tool for educating kids on all levels of math
ranching produce is infinite harvest boost hack
but other wise i could make a zeki variant HEHE HEHEHEHE
Yeah Ima have to look at the fertslurper references. I need entirely too much money for my build
Already put 3mil into it and I'm like, definitely not even halfway to funding it (Almost done with HH and cottage and other housing units, gotta dump 2-3mil into terrain pieces after)
but gardening is only hte second best moneymaker for me
Second to Starred Maws Sushi parties?
(I am preparing to start doing those to help my cashflow issue but am curious if you have more insights)
mawsshimi yeay something like cooking maws
what do you need to get into maws parties?
For Sushi parties w Starred Maws, the most typical requirement is bringing a fair share of Starred Maws. Many also ask for you to bring the Dari Cloves for your Maws as they can be a pain to amass.
Oftentimes they supply the rice n other stuff
But basically, get what you need for a handful of crafts of it yourself, then look to parties so that everyoen can crafts theirs together and multiply the product for massive profit
ahh ok thanks
Yeye! It's super lucrative so I encourage everyone to consider saving their Starred Maws for such events
I'll probably be organizing such things myself soon
I am absolutely baffled to learn people have acquired enough maws for an event, let alone starred. I've been playing in elderwood since release and the only relic I haven't maxed is the one you need maws for 🥲 0 sightings
Omg I wish I could just send you one but if you haven't even gotten ONE yet?? Shoot!
I've caught 5 starred and 3 regular in the last week, though I had the whole week off
it's truly wild, I've never even had it on my hook! and I regularly go fishing in EW. maws and majiri are the only ones i've never seen at all, all the others i've caught star quality and infected
U usually need to be in a community tgat hosts mawshimi partys
Theres one in 4.5hours
This one is just bring rice
I'm so confused. On the planner app, pumpkins take up 1 square and are in a 3x3. When planted, one pumpkin takes up a 2x2. So im lost
I heard somewhere that apples and pumpkins are best for cash and I need a LOT of cash because I want to buy everything and start doing up my housing plot properly. I have three apple trees planted at the back, then one down either side. In the middle I have two pumpkins, then four pumpkins aross the bottom, but there's a good bit of room for other crops, maybe. It's definitely not efficient at all, and I'm not sure what to do, to be quite honest. I don't understand the app at all, either.
apples are great for cash but take ages to grow, i still go with trusty old tomatoes😂
Whoever told u pumpkins are good money block him they are super bad
So, what's my best bet? I want tons of cash. I need like 150k for storage upgrades, then way more for housing upgrades, etc
Gardening isn't a fast money maker, and pretty much all other skills (not furniture making or ranching though) can make more money in less time.
The absolute best way to make money is through cooking parties. Look at https://paliaparty.app or #1143270926394335282 to try and find some if you want.
If you want best money from gardening, it's a layout of full Bok Choy, stacks of harvest boost fertiliser on everything. Manual watering and weeding. Then seed all that Bok Choy. It's a lot of effort, but the highest gardening profit layout.
For less intense layouts in terms of effort, have a look at what I've linked in this post #🌱│gardening message
I'd love to do the parties but I don't have much to offer for them
Some parties allow you to just use stuff you buy from Badruu's or Zeki (even if you buy stuff, you'll make way more profit from a party).
Else you can grow stuff to use in parties. Onions, tomatoes, wheat are very common ingredients. Cake parties tend to want apples (a rather expensive role in the party mind you)
Some parties have roles that you don't need any ingredients for. Admittedly, those roles tend to fill up the fastest.
So, you definitely could bring stuff to a party. They're organised in advance, so you'd have a chance to make enough to buy stuff from Badruu if mecessary
I do happen to have like. . .55 apple jam I think, plus some other apples
Just find a party that's beginner friendly with easy to buy ingredients. I'm not a cooking party person so can't say much more than that.
(And allows bought ingredients)
Hi all. New to the game and I have set up the Bullseye farming plot layout and just had a question on using the Seed Collector. Should I be turning everything I harvest into seeds or just the star ones? I've been selling the regular crops since I needed the gold, but I wasn't sure if that was the right/smart thing to do.
Someone made a sheet!
I keep it on hand so I always know! But funnily enough turning your crops to seeds is better than selling em outright
Essentially tho, seed your grains, lettuce, and starred potatoes & beans.
Rest should all be preserved
Thank you so much!
I got chu, fellow newbie!!
If an expert wants to pipe in and correct me pls do
lettuce cannot be turned intyo seeds
Huh! Interesting— thank you for tell me!!
that’s actually the only One I’ve never tried yet.
You really can’t turn them into seeds? Does that mean you always have to buy lettuce seeds from the store?
no u just dont have em
they gave oem once as daily login reward the seeds i used em up but can tmake more seeds
I'm using this one, too! It looks so nice as a layout!
bok choy should also be seeded
In addition to Bok Choy definitely wanting to be seeded, I don't get why Potatoes/Beans should only be seeded when starred in that sheet...seems odd
napa cabbage better than bok choy for preserving
I mean...yes and no.
Cabbage is the same profit whether seeded or preserved, but you can leave it unattended for longer in preserve jar, so preserving tends to be better.
Bok Choy makes most profit when seeded, but even when preserved it is the 3rd most profitable thing you can do when gardening (only behind Seeding the Bok Choy and Seeding Potatoes). Bok Choy are just that profitable.
but when (partial)seeding u dont neewd to keep a stockpil;e of seeds
but yes jarring better if its even
Since the image I was using was wrong, I decided to make my own and look into per profit. I'd appreciate anyone's input on it!
I organized it based on highest to lowest prices
we have many of those but its always nice to have em being newly made in case of update
i recommend sorting based on jarrable but should be seeded and should be seeded
and cotton is its own catagory
starred bok choy is seeds but what do i do with regular? Preserve?
also seeds
I wish I could have more stuff on my land. I have 5 seed makers and 4 preserve jars and can't have more because I have smelters and such up
u can swap em for jars and seedthings when ur smelters and sawmills etc arent in use
I have 8 plots for bok choy in my current plot layout I'm using. Until I can get a steady supply of seeds from my own seedmakers, am I best off repleneshing from Zeki in the meantime?
what is ur gardening lv btw cuz u probs want them fully starred and hten u need a layotu with elss bokchoi in em so ur seedmakers dont stall as much
- I only have 8 bok choy. I have 4 apple trees, 4 beans, 8 potato, 8 onion, 4 tomato and 4 wheat
I think. I'd have to go through it and count again
ah ic lv 16 is ur lv yeay then no logner bother wiht chanigng to lwoer lv layotus as by the time u finish one full rotation ur 25 anyways probably
Okay
I'm aiming to get cash from this layout anyway, so I wanna seed/preserve everything I can then sell in bulk once I've got some good saved up
i mean i sell stuff thats not needed for use like seeds to reseed and produce to cookw ith instantly to clear storage and to know how much money i had to buyt that nex crafter license
Yeah
With Apple and Blueberry FULL HIDRATATED & WEED PROTECTION... NO qualitu
v0.4_D-111-111-111_CR-BBCBBTCTP-OTOCPCOTO-CBBTBBPTC-OCOTPTOCO-AAAAAAAAA-OCOTPTOCO-CTPBBTBBC-OTOCPCOTO-PTCTBBCBB_GtL25Cr0.BtS-AP-CbP-TP-BkS-CoS-PS
I just realised I've been planting wheat, not rice 😂
U can also post the link in a way that its clickable
What is the most profitable scheme that exists?
potatoes and tomatos are the best for money quick.
Where do I first get pumpkins from? I thought we get some from the event
field full of bok choy (either all 81 slots with harvest boost fertilizer on them or with a mix of rice/wheat/corn to give the bok choy harvest boost coverage). this is a very tryhard layout (both versions) and it needs to be babysat every hour for weeds and watering.
decorative or crop? there should be a store somewhere (maybe around the general store) that sells decorative pumpkins that are decor items. if looking for the crop you can get the seed from Tamala's shop in elderwood for 500 essence or you can go over to badruu's cash register and buy a pumpkin and put it into the seed maker to get seeds that way
Okay I am getting really annoyed. I played over 10 hours in the past 2-3 days and none of my crops have evolved? There's never anything to do gardening wise when I return to my plot. Is this a known bug? Do I have to destroy and replant my crops? What in the world is happening 🤣
Figured I'd ask here in case it was known
I use the 9th plot for weeds method and everything else is water retain so I just have to harvest and replant
so first of all, crops only grow while you are online plus one stage when you log off. however, since you mentioned the weed method, it no longer works. the weeds (especially if you have all 9 of them) will actually stop all crop growths. remove them, garden should start growing again
and, yes. duhscape already got in touch with s6 tech support about it and they basically said that you have to weed your garden
So it's intentional now for the entire garden to stop growing while there are weeds? Since when?
for a while now. i tried it once (9 weeds) and my apple failed to grow even though at the time i was playing the game practically 7-10 hours a day depending on the day. they never produced apples. removed the weeds and they gave the apples
It was working for me less than 4 days ago is why I am asking
Maybe there are a max number of days you can leave the weeds before it stops all growth?
Thanks for letting me know though, I just wish the solution was different
yeah, i'm doing a search for duhscape about the 9 weeds and i've seen them warning about it all the way back in june so far
Is anyone else having issues with the flowering bushes? Like they dont grow, when i water them they reset to first stage. Ive watered then bout 20 times
I got to level 50 🎉
I’ve heard it’s a common bug at the moment if this helps
Im new to the game, do they fix bugs in what phase? Days, weeks, months?
I am unsure it usually depends on a lot of things like urgency, demand, and difficulty and such
I have no idea how long this one will take to fix I just know they know about it
Okiii 👌
Congratulations! I assume that it’s max level ?
Max level for all skills is 9,999
Oh wow, that is … unever reachable ?? 😨
Only undoable for gardening and ranching
My bushes???
magic
Is it just me or is the harvest boost fertilizer not working right? I loaded a bunch onto my pumpkins but I got the normal harvest number the following morning.
:(
harvest boost needs to be present at every growth tic in order to get 100% chance of it to work. so at 6am palia time, the buff needs to be there. otherwise, the percentage goes down for it to work right. if you placed it right before harvest, it's not going to be as effective
Do I have to keep it maxed out every day then? So load in 100 at the start and then just keep adding to keep it at the same level?
if you place a full stack (99) then you technically don't have to keep replacing it hourly (when it gets used) just have to make sure you have it before it gets completely used up. pumpkins will require 4 fertilizer at every growth tic (since it takes up 4 tiles), so it will go down pretty fast
Thank you for the info!
Hi all, does anyone have a good profitable Palia garden layout that includes pumpkins? 🙂 I been messing around with the palia garden planner site but I am getting lazy lol
I use this one, nice and lazy 😁
If i wanted the max amount of money per crop, what should that look like? I'm trying to figure out the planner 😭
This has been driving me crazy! I have one bush that grew big and then stopped needing to be watered but all the others keep doing this 😅
I'm honeslty at my wits end with it. Can't work out it maybe it's a seasonal thing or generally just a bug.
I'm a little relieved that it isn't just me though
Question
If a crop is already harvest boosted cuz the crops beside it will harvest boost fertilizer boost it more or would it be redundant?
the fertilizer wouldn't be consumed as the crop buff takes priority
So in other words its redundant
Just trying to figure out what fertilizer I need
Thinking just a bunch of water fertilizer
Max money per crop or per tile?
Apples take up the most space and as such generate the most profit per crop, but profit per tile, Bok Choy wins by a landslide.
Highest profit layout is a full Bok Choy with full harvest boost fertiliser, manual watering and weeding. It's quite a lot of effort
Swap each middle tomato or potato for the other, gives better buff coverage
Actually, the tomatoes adjacent to those 2 onions can be swapped for Bok Choy or carrots too
No bokchoy or carrots I'm making a garden for bean burgers and preserves profits
Ok, up to you, it's an option for increasing weed buff coverage slightly.
Bok Choy preserved is the highest preserve profit per day (though it is better seeded)
I dont want to increase weed buff weeds can be sold for money
even if its only a little
Sure, go for weeds then 🙂
All good ^^
I needed to find a place for wheat 😂 its not a lot BUT it works
You can fit a couple more in, if you want. The central 4 2x2s currently all have 3 water retaining buffs around them. You can reduce that to 2 for each of them by replacing 2 of the potatoes in the central column (one above the middle tomato, 1 2 below it for example) with wheat. Or replace with 1 wheat, 1 onion.
So the one that worked is on a fence line, I was starting to think maybe they need to be up against something? Rather than free floating?
I'm not sure. Tried it out today and they watered into flowering bushes. Waited for next in game day and they reverted again.
Got mind spaced with about 2 squares between each so they have enough to bush out
Do crops tick forward at 6AM ONLY if you’re playing? Or will they advance if you’re offline?
when online and ONE time after
Thx ^_^
I'm coming back after a couple months of not playing and going through the spiritfest quests [and unlocking the Elderwood]. Is gardening still a good way to make money? And if so, can anyone recommend any plot layouts? Thank you!
gardening is always a good passive income while you get your main income from doing other skill tasks (hunting, fishing, etc). as far as layouts go, depends on what you want the garden to do for you and what your playstyle is like
Before, I had a relatively low maintenance garden. I didn't have to worry about watering or weeding and simply replanted when I needed to. I think I'm looking for something similar to that!
and even when u dont need gardening for money u need it for cooking ingredients and lures and stuff
If I want to layout my garden for the primary purpose of growing my cooking and crafting ingredients, what's the best layout?
Depends, are you looking for specific ingredients (in which case, you'll have to tell us what), or a garden layout that has at least 1 of every crop?
Well, I suppose I want a garden that makes all the ingredients for the most efficient high-focus foods.
Most efficient in terms of cheapest, or in terms of easiest to make?
And are we talking solo cooking or cooking parties?
Well, while you think about it:
If you want everything gardens, Astrea has a bunch, links to them here: #🌱│gardening message
My garden focuses on Soon Tofu as a food source, but I also have 3 apples trees so I need to replant less on average. If I'm feeling real lazy, the apples can be used for fruit smoothie bowls which give the best focus for number of steps. Rather expensive food though. Both are efficient foods time wise for cooking solo. #🌱│gardening message link to my layout.
You'll have to give me more info on what meals you would want to cook otherwise though
I don't worry about expensive so much as efficient in terms of how fast I can make it, and how many of my resources it takes compared to how much focus it gives me when eaten.
But I do play mostly solo, so I am planning for solo cooking on the regular.
I'd say soon tofu is a good shout then.
Or just regular canned beans tbh
But that's probably my bias slipping through slightly
There are some very bean heavy layouts if you want some of those
Sure!

And read the message underneath
GTG for a little bit, but will check back in later. If any of the linked layouts work for you, great, if not, can probably alter them based on what you meed
ok, back.
So feedback:
- The apple tree is 1 harvest boost crop and 1 water retain crop away from having both buffs and weed block. One cotton could also give quality up
- I'm not a big fan of growing Cotton. I tend to just buy fabric (growing rice instead gives you a good buff and more money than you need to buy the same amount of fabric you would make from growing cotton plus a little profit)... But, depending on your gardening level there can be some benefit to quality up buff. As you already have apples, the benefit is already somewhat diminished however. A bunch of people prefer to grow cotton rather than buy it, so I won't say don't grow it, it's just not my preference. So feel free to ignore me.
- That's a lot of blueberries. If you have a fondness for the crop, cool, ignore me. But Beans tend to do the same job and are worth a bit more (both for potential recipes and processing profit. Canned Beans are also a very good focus food for animals, and not bad for you, though cooking is more efficient for you). Personally, I'd consider swapping the beans and the blueberries around.
- The corners have singular tomatoes. I would pair the tomato with a potato or cabbage for the water retaining coverage, personally. Same for anywhere else the tomatoes are alone really. I rate water retain buff as far more convenient than weed block, so if not using fertilisers, I'd try to maximise harvest boost and water retain at the expense of weed block
All that said, I'd say you've done pretty well, I'm just nitpicking really
Thank you so much! This advice clears up some confusion I was having.
Do you guys have a favourite garden setup?
I love this layout, friend. Just to clear something up, though for my pea-brain. Can you interchange the peppers for pumpkin? 😮
Both the peppers and Blueberries can be swapped for any 2x2 that isn't beans
Thank you sooo much, friend. ^^
No problem
Hellow guys , how can i check layouts made by players ?
theres pictures usually posted on #🏡│decor on how people have made their layouts of houses, soils, ect, you can always ask people for a peek at their layout aswell or tour homes via the board on your plot
yup lazy ferslurping apples
Question regarding weed plots: when I have all 9 spaces in my weed plot covered, it stops the other 8 plots from advancing in growth. Is this a bug or am I doing it wrong?
its a bug according to the devs -clears throatt-
thechapass have sprinkled magic pixy dust on the weeds ur supposed ot weed
Oops! This whole time I've been putting Batterfly beans in to preserve, not seed for money. screaming
Keep those for ranching food
do any of you have a decent pumpkin set up
All of my pumpkins are coming out as high quality. I’m trying to do the event quest that requires regular quality cooking ingredients. What is the best way to ensure you don’t produce the high quality items. Note: I’m planting regular but the harvest comes out as high quality. The fertilizer is suppose to give me more items rather than quality items.
The board will accept starred pumpkins. How high is your gardening level? Once you reach level 25, all you can grow is star quality vegetables.
My level is 36 so this is a problem as the event food will not accept the high quality food.
I used starred quality pumpkins on the board. I wonder if bugged now, it should accept them starred or not.
I’ll check it again. It is more the cooked food that it is not taking
I believe the store over at Badura farm also sells unstarred pumpkins
Some food is marked as requiring quality; other is not. For example, Pumpkin Stew is not starred. I didn’t want to pay the 500g for regular pumpkins but that may be my only choice. Wheat & Rice is also an issue
It possibly bugged. Everything I cooked and donated was starred. I dont blame you for not wanting to spend gold to buy unstarred items
Maybe it is because I didn’t have all 10…going to make some more and see if it will take it if I have all of them
im pretty sure i used star quality for non star quality
its just making sure that the starred food is starred, while unstarred is either
I had a cooking glitch with a person the other day while attempting to cook the recipes for the board. She did not select "use star quality" and the recipe would not let me use my starred veggies. It use to be you could always use starred.
Okay…once I had all 10 it let me hit contribute
thats not a glitch! you cannot use starred veggies unless you selec "use star quality"
should be able to use starred vegetables if you want to. what are you supposed to do when you can only farm starred ingredients but don't have any starred or whatever foraged things? seems like an unnecessary restriction
You still select 'use starred ingredients' - if you don't have starred versions of some ingredients, it will pull the unstarred of those from storage.
For instance, we can't get starred eggs or flour, so if you could only use starred ingredients, some recipes would be impossible. It uses unstarred ones instead (assuming you have them)
If you have starred forage you don't WANT to use, stick them in your lockbox
what if you don't have any unstarred ingredients?
Then you wouldn't be able to cook the dish if you didn't select 'use starred ingredients'
But if you only have starred crops, you can still use unstarred forage or whatever else, as above
Yes you can, it works exactly the same way
I'll reiterate, selecting 'use unstarred ingredients' does NOT force you to use starred ingredients. They're just prioritised.
If you can't use starred ingredients, it will use unstarred instead. This is true for meats, fish, crops, forage, animal produce.
If you don't want to use starred ingredients, you can put them in the lockbox and they will not be used, it will pull from whatever is left in your inventory or storage first.
If you're commenting on the fact that past a certain point you are unable to get unstarred crops, that's a different conversation, but it does not impact cooking at all.
Well, other than reducing potential profit slightly
I have a little reference cheat sheet for whether to make something into preserves or seeds (or either), but it doesn't account for the newest crops, batterfly beans and rockhopper pumpkins.
Preserves: apple, carrot, pepper, tomato, and onion.
Seeds: bok choy, cotton, potatoes, rice, and wheat.
For either: blueberries, corn, and cabbage.
I wanted to ask, would pumpkins be more profitable to sell as is rather than make into seeds or preserves? And with the beans, I'm guessing it can go either way, or just do seeds?
Nothing is more profitable to sell as is.
Pumpkins are best preserved (though still poor for profit),
Beans are best seeded
Blueberries and corn are both best preserved btw
Cabbage is equal profit from seeding and preserving, but I advise preserving as it runs unsupervised for longer
I wish this was the case. My friend and I cooked a bunch of unstarred recipes and had to buy specifically unstarred crops for the ones we were lacking. I garden a bunch of starred crops, but no unstarred.
Btw, an update to date reference list in a Reddit post - #🌱│gardening message
Thank you!
what is the fastest growing crop if i simply just wanna spam plant it to level up my farming
Every crop gives the same exp over time, it's 4exp per tile per growth tick
Fastest growing ones are Bok Choy, Carrots and Rice though - 3 growth ticks
thank u
i have alot of carrots so carrots it shall be
is it once a palia day u have to water them? I was gonna clean the apartment and just leave palia on so i can make sure i remember to water them but theres been alot of times where i think i can water them again but i cant
Every 6am Palian time, all crops will grow if you were online within the past irl hour.
After this, unless they have water retaining buff from fertiliser or an adjacent potato/tomato/cabbage, they will need watering again
Could just make em afk plots and check back every harvest if u leave it on snyways
im getting the hydratepro fert and im just gonna leave it on and then then check on them
whats the best fruit/veggie/other to use for glow worm farms?
how did fert work again? Is it enough for me to put down one on each carrot or what do i do? Ive forgotten
Depends, do you want lots of Glow Worms/HB fertiliser, or the most efficient extra profit per hour?
The stuff you get from your ranch animals is a great steady stream of them, but only 1 glow worm per hour.
If you want lots of glow worms, then when fishing with them, keep the animals you would sell, grill them into grilled fish and chunk those into the glow worm farm.
alright, thank you!
Each carrot will use one fertiliser per growth tick, so if you want to be able to harvest them, you'll need at least 2 on each.
But, if you're planning more than one harvest of this, just dump a bunch of fertiliser on each tile, then you won't need to refertilise between harvests
so i've been using this layout for my apples since forever. i was wondering if there's a way to make the harvest boost applies to the apples instead?
Without fert 4 apples max with 6
sorry i don't quite understand what you're saying
using fertilizer= 4 apples max, with fertilizer=6 apples is waht they mean i think
it depends on if you want to use harvest boost fertilizer or not. if no, then the max trees you can have is four with harvest boost crops, if you don't mind and have a good supply of fert you can do six trees
i see, thank you both! i appreciate it 💜
the second one is the 4 with harvest boost
there's the 6 with fertilizer. just remember that the apples will take 9 fertilizer at each growth tic
i personally use the first one (the blueberries/apples) but i switched out two blueberries for two beans to put into seeders
i think i'll use this one. i'll keep the first 2 layout for future reference. tysm 💜
afk harvest boosted u can have 4 apples max without fertiliser 6 with
I don't use any planner, never did. For me when gardening for profit, its Blueberry seeds 168 gold, Pepper seeds 127 gold, Pumpkins at 132 gold, apple jam 144 gold. For glow worms and the HB fert, I make Congee , pickled corn, Napa Cabage Kimchi and pickled potatoes, they give the most glow worm and HB fert for the smallest investment cost. For quality boost Fert and glow worms, its canned pumpkin and blueberry jam. The regular worm farm is Apple jam or apples, canned pumpkin and blueberry jam. Between selling off seeds, veggies and gloworms I get about 20,000 gold per day passive income. I also have several seeders, canners and glow worm farms that run 24/7
My farm consist of 3 apple trees, 3 pumpkins, 3 peppers, 3 blueberries and 6 get used for other things, like rice , onions, wheat, carrots etc when needed.
oh two beans,
Why it says avrage : 4148/day ?
While it's around 2.5k/day when i do same plan on the website?
processed value or not processed value
Hey guys! I've been increasing my gardening priority with the new ranching update. I don't really pay attention to the min/max aspect of all this stuff, but I will say I really think we should be able to have more than 9 plots.
I know this has probably been beaten into the ground already, but with the added need to feed our livestock, I just can't keep up with the amount of food required for all my animals to eat plus having enough produce to make seeds/can for profit.
I'm only feeding my animals tomatoes and carrots, as those are the cheapest. I will also feed canned beans if I have extra, but that is my main focus supply. I have 6 preserve jars on my plot but they are mainly used for profit canning and bean canning, so I rarely have enough time to can the tomatoes and carrots.
u really dont have to give em food till they are at 30% left or osmething so dont give em food so often
oh nvm u only get penalty aside from them hurting ur concious by looking sad
till they are 0 focus left
ur tomatoes and carrots are jarred right?
not usually, which I know is dumb of me, but I already have 6 preserve jars on my plot and they are mostly used to can my potatoes for money and my beans for focus. I guess the answer is get more jars tbh
yeay i mean glowwormers jarrers seedmakers hsould be ur bulk noone needs tons of sawmills or smelters unles u use em for storage anwyays
And I thought they had to be fully fed to gain happiness and rarity from that
well replenishing focus gives happyness or osmething but hjappynes for me is always like 90%+ anyways cuz i pet em daily
true, true. Mine stay pretty happy from pets too. Ok less feeding and more jars for me lol
yeay no need to keep em full full nonstop just not 0 or 30%(if u cant stand puttin gem on a diet
Can i unstar started vegetables?
no an dif u for some reason need unstarred ones u can always buy from badruu but just cook with ur starred ones anyways
some recipes require 1 or 2 veggie/fruit with meat/garlic/etc
But If all what i get is starred veggie at high lvl gardening , i think i might be in trouble, right ?
Like apple pies
It's hard to get starred sweet leaves
nope cuz u click allow starred and then u cant select unstarred but if ur out of starred but have unstarred it will then allow u to select unstarred
s6 plz change things to make more sense
so forr example if i got no starred cheap spice and wanna do a dish with any spice but dont wanna use my starred dariclove i can lockbox trha tone so i can select the unstarred spice sprouts
so yeay only downside of not growing any unstarred veggies is sometimes u forget the checkbox and cant finisha dish and u cannot gift em but otherwise htey are just better
@little matrix does it make sense now?
Yesssss thank you alot
Im really new to Palia so I dont have some crops unlocked and this isn't the best garden but I felt proud for my first attempt
its not bad at all
u at least got hte importance of hb and quality up right at once a even though there are btter layouts this one is quiet good
I respect the folks who have a rhyme or reason to where they plant seeds. I do the chaos farming method. Running around my plot and just planting seeds wherever I can
Isnt that way more work
Maybe u need a ez layout
where do i get pumpkin seeds?
You can buy them with essence in the Elderwood for 500 a pop (iirc) but honestly it's way more cost effective to buy pumpkins from Badruu and stick them in your seed maker cause it's a lot easier/faster to make money than it is to gather essence
Perfect thank you
my pumpkins refuse to stay put, lol. they're slowly inching away from my plot!
any interaction puts them back in place (weeding, fertilizing, watering)
hmm is it better to sell apple jam or apple seeds?
10 apples = 1 apple seed = 1050g
10 apples = 10 apple jams = 1440g
star quality*
much thanks
do make some seeds first so u wont run out
Tends to happen when they're over the boundary of 2 soil plots, but as Zirrai said, watering or interacting with the crops will update the position to where it should be
Hello all, I have a question for ya. Should I keep any veggies.. if so how many.
I can't make seeds yet.
Is there a guide or something. I look at YouTube but as a beginner I don't have half of what they are on about.
u can turn stuff into seeds and jars alter for more moneys keep some if ur gonna use it but sell most so u can afford seedmaker recipe for example
I always do apple seeds since the stack is worth more.
apples jam best
This is true. I tend to stack mine for a while then dump it in the shipping bin. So seeds work out better for me. Or else I’d have storage full of apple jams.
put stack of apples in jar
it processed it put another stak in
now ugot 2 stacks in jhar
take stack out put next stack in
put stack of jam inot the sales bin no need to keep it in storage
Well. Looks like I have a new way of procuring funds. Now I have to stop spending it all in the underground. 👀
Has anyone else been experiencing a bug where it won't let you replant seeds in your garden patch? If I reboot it will let me, but since the most recent patch this is happening nearly every time I replant
It looks normal, showing the image of what will get planted in that square, but when I hit the button to plant nothing happens
It's getting really frustrating :c
Pumpkins are worth 132g unprocessed, 101g canned, and 25g as seeds
Doesn't make any kind of sense, but they're worth the most as is. Might be worth more as worm food? I'm forever confused about worm farm mechanics
pumpkins aren't worth growing at all unless you need to get achievements, honestly. the buff is useless at higher levels (18+) and you only get 2 crops per harvest (3 harvest boosted)
So is the best thing to do is just grow a bunch of apple trees only?
I have in my notes I am getting 151 gold for canned starred pumpkin. I better double check that now.
if you're going strictly for profit and don't mind babysitting the garden every hour, a field full of bok choy to seeds with either harvest boost fert on each or mixed with rice/wheat/corn for the buffs is the ultimate tryhard layout. apples are middling as far as money goes, but they give the bonus of not having to babysit them if you do a four tree lazy afk layout
The best profit is checking on your garden frequently; how often you harvest makes a bigger difference than what you grow tbh
But it also depends if you want things for crafting, cooking, feeding animals, etc
And what type of effort is preferable to you
The number you quoted for starred pumpkins is 132 gold but the numbers you listed for canned and seeds is for unstarred quality. I had to look this up to be sure. Starred pumpkin seeds are still horrible at just 37 gold each, but starred canned pumpkin at a 1:1 ratio are worth 151 gold each. So pumpkins are definitely better at preserves.
With unstarred pumpkins, they're 88 gold each, 101 g as preserves and 25 gold as seeds.
Does anyone have any garden plot ideas for maximum money and inventory? Like that will give me cotton and for food as well as keep my jarring full?
Huh, that's so weird, I haven't had anything unstarred in ages, idk what happening there for me then... I've been getting such weird bugs that no one else seems to, maybe I've got another, dang
did you just look at what the recipe in the seeders/preserve jar is for the price of them? if so, those only ever show the non-star prices
whats the best garden layout for money
Do certain items give more glow worms when you put them in the glow worm farm?
4 garden sqaures for apple trees , 1 garden square for cotton, and the rest of them pumpkins or tomatoes. Keep the cotton if you need the cloth, or sell it. Apples and tomatoes/pumpkins = can and sell
Tomatoes will be faster turnaround for money, but pumpkins are the most money in the game besides apples for canning, but really slow.
So I have a max profit garden rn but I'm thinking about getting back into cooking parties instead. Anyone have a layout that covers a good chunk of what the parties need nowadays? I had one like 2 years ago that was blueberries and apple trees but is there one with like onions and tomatoes etc too? ❤️
technically, it's whatever layout works the best for your style of play and what you can keep up with crafter wise. a field full of potatoes is still profitable (eventually) if you can get the growth tics in to get them to harvest and to seed. that being said, the most money layout is harvest boosted bok choy to seed, either by fertilizer or mixing in rice/wheat/corn. there are also completely 100% afk farms with apples that can also work if you don't like the idea of babysitting a garden every hour
pumpkins are the absolute worst crop in the game. beans are far more profitable seeded with a far superior crop buff at higher levels, just so you know
Whats the best method for doing this?
first one, swap blues for beans. works for hosting/participating in cake parties especially, but can also preserve the apples to jam and if using beans to a seeder, so the only crops of value are the bushes and apples, everything else can be ignored (thus making the layout also "afk" if you don't worry about the buffing crops)
the reasoning behind the pumpkins being bad is because of how long they take to grow to first harvest and then only giving 2 crops per yield (3 with harvest boost) the other bushes (blue and beans) give 6/9 non/harvest boosted
also to add, quality up is useless at higher levels (18+) which is why when a lot of people who come in asking for money layouts will rarely ever get layouts with them in it unless they are asking for everything layouts
So do beans just get put into seeders, and then sell the seeds?
yep. i use the first one (two beans, two blues). i use 2 seeders and 8 preserve jars to cover my playstyle. 1 seeder is for apples (so i don't have to stop a process of beans to reseed) and the other if dedicated to beans. the preserve jars only hold apples (i don't bother with harvesting the blueberries). i usually only pull out the processed items when the preserve jars are full (so usually every 2-3 irl days) and sell in bulk (but i'm also constantly capped for money) and usually get 75k+ for the lot (all star quality)
Thanks for explaining everything!
I am looking for a decent gardening layout with crops that are kind of easy to get right now. Just something to help me level faster. Any suggestions?
what level are you at? gardening wise?
6
take a look at some of those and see if any look like something you would like to work with
just wondering if anyone knows this about harvest boost plants but if you add harvest boost fertilizer to all the crops too does it double the harvest boost or its already capped from the actual plant itself so theres no point in adding harvest boost fertilizer if the plant already comes with it?
The harvest boost crops give the harvest boost buff to adjacent crops but not to themselves. They would need to be adjacent to a different harvest boost crop to get the buff themselves.
As for fertiliser, if a crop has a harvest boost buff from an adjacent crop, any harvest boost fertiliser on the tile just won't be used.
Harvest boost buff must be present every in-game day of growth for the extra yield to be guaranteed. If a crop takes 4 days and you only put the buff on on the last day, you have 1/4 chance of the extra yield only
Does anyone have a good layout for watering? I tend to forget about my crops because I’m off doing other things so I’m trying to find a layout that will help my crops retain the water more. I currently have potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, and corn in the soil plots together but I still find myself having to water once every in game day
do u need anything more specific then jsut that or are u good?
think specific crops for cooking lluremaking or other stuff
or low lv below25
The main crops I really use are corn, onions, rice, peppers, and wheat for cooking. I believe I’m level 9 cooking.
yeay uhm so htis is gardening i really dont care about ur cooking lv XD
gardening level increases star crop chance so lwoer levels want quality up buff
warning duhscape is bad at saying things in nice ways
I meant gardening not cooking
🎉 Gardening 100! 🎉
Does anyone know if there’s a way to grow low quality vegetables? I can’t complete the darn bulletin boards because all of my vegetables are star quality but I don’t have enough star quality heat root to make 20 pumpkin dishes! I really wish that they would allow you to select some items star quality and some not. It’s so frustrating! I’ve done everything for the bulletin boards except these two darn pumpkin dishes!🙁 I’m not using any high-quality fertilizer, I’m using low quality seeds and not planting any cotton. My gardening level is 45 so I’m guessing that’s why even when I try for low quality they come out star quality?
it will go down in quality if you run out of star quality. at least it has for me when cooking the food. it will use the low quality
yeah, after level 38 you will only get star quality crops even from non-star seeds. you can place ingredients into your lock box and they won't get pulled from there (to deal with the not enough star heat root)
Thank you! You know, I guess I haven’t tried that. I will do it in just a few minutes! Boy I hope it works!🙂
Thank you! I will try putting the star heat route in my lockbox and see if it will let me cook with the regular, using all other high-quality ingredients.💕
as long as you click on the "use star ingredients" you'll be fine
So... im not sure if im doing something wrong im still kinda learning... I placed tomatoes since they keep things watered... but nothing around them seems to stay watered.... do they have to be planted at the exact same time? Is this just a one off expirence?
crops don't give same crops buffs, so if you have two tomatoes together, they will not give the water retain buff to each other. you'll need to put either a potato or cabbage next to it to give each other a buff
Oh no i dont mean the tomatoes
I think i had corn, bok choy, wheat and rice around them
Half of the plants are there just because i need them for other things im doing...
Not exactly an afk set up but anything that saves time... tbh I didnt even know tomatoes were water retain i just needed them for a recipe
we honestly get almost ur comment so muhc they really hsoudl change how the starred checkbox works at this point
wish that it would just default to using star quality ingredients first, and once/if they are all gone (no matter where in the cooking process it occurs) that it automatically uses the non-star versions
ideally u got a toggle that says PREFER unstarred cuz why wouldnt u prefer starred first and foremost XD and like being able to use it poer step urself rather then recipe starter
How to level up your gardening skill quicker? I’m just starting and finally got the apple tree and blueberry seeds from badruu.
the only way to get exp from gardening is by harvesting crops and all crops give 4 exp per tile slot that they take up, so you could use fast growing crops to get it leveled quickly
What are those?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 🥳 It worked! I have been so bummed that I wasn’t gonna get to finish the boards!❤️🥳🎈🌷
Thank you thank you! It worked! I’m so relieved! I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out how to get star quality heat root!😂💕
does anyone know how to fix the issue where it doesn't tell you how much fertilizer is on a square? that whole top row never gives a number when the bottom row does. apparently there's 100 on the first one b/c i was just blindly putting as much on there as i could and it still doesnt say.
I am pretty sure the bulletin boards accept star dishes for plain just not the other way round
Yes if im remembering right, it accepts with starred and non starred cooks together
Are the crops above that row Blueberries?
If so, you are getting Harvest Boost from the Blueberries and any Harvest Boost fertiliser is ignored. It will still stay on the tile, but it won't be used. Some people use this method to 'store' fertiliser
i came across this chart and i need someone to explain it to me. How can that take 180 days? do you replant? or is it one time only? and if it's one time only do you really get over like 1000 carrots and such? and if you replant how do you know when to stop? and i see both something saying fertilizers per day and another thing saying no fertilizer needed? idk sorry for all the questions but i usually just stick with 1 or 2 crops so i don't know how this planning site works
The calculations assume you replant as soon as possible. 180 days is often used as it's the lowest number that will result in full growth cycles for all crops (for example, it is 6 apple tree growth cycles and 60 Carrot cycles)
As for when to stop, stop if you decide you want a different layout.
The top right shows what fertilisers are used. None of them have a little number in their lower right corner, so no fertiliser is accounted for on the planner at present.
Hope that helps?
that does help, thanks!
since there is 100% water retention does that mean you don't need to log in every hour and could just log in after idk 5 hours to replant the potatoes or corn and such?
Growth will only occur at 6am in-game time if you were online in the last hour.
So that 180 days actually means 180 in-game days you get the growth tick for.
So you will still need to log in frequently if you want the growth
ah, i see. pity then, 100% water retention not as useful as i thought then
It's still rather useful in my book haha
I seem to be able to only grow star quality no matter what I do. Use un stared seed, don’t fertilize, swear at them, lol. Nope allll stared..
i'm taking a wide guess you are over level 38, right? once you are over level 38, you will only get star crops even from non-star seeds
to get starred veggies, do I need to keep the fertilizer on it the whole growth cycle or can I just add it once?
for fertilizers, they need to be applied at every growth tic (6am palia time) in order to be 100% effective. otherwise it might not work. you can stack up to 99 fert into a tile so you don't have to remember to place it every hour. though, depending on your level, you may not need to use quality up fert
Omg that’s why stuff doesn’t grow when I don’t play. I thought i was going crazy
I only ever plant and jar carrots because they grow in 3 days and each jar is quickest. I have a rich carrot economy.
So how do we turn in what we create? Or does it do it automatically?
Am I understanding this new event correctly? We just garden, preserve, and sell as normal?
it tracks on s6's side. just play like normal
How long does it take apple trees to grow apples?
first harvest 12 growth tics, then 6 growth tics after x 3
Growth tics?
That's cool. I guess I'll stop neglecting my garden.
You mean in game days?
we measure things by growth tics (growth tics happen every hour at 6am while online, plus one when you are offline). it's less confusing than saying hours as some newer players may mistake that as "oh 12 hours? then i can go to bed, sleep for 8 and only have 4 hours left until apples are ready)
Ok thank you
It's past level 25 now. It probably changed at some point if it was 38.
At level 25, your base star chance with unstarred seeds and no quality boost buff (from cotton/peppers/pumpkin or QU fertilizer) is already 75%. Since you're above that, it will be 2% higher for every additional level.
Level 25 and level 38 are not sharp jumps, they're just the points where the formulas equal 100% star crop chance with starred seeds and unstarred seeds, respectively.
The garden planner has the full formula in its documentation if you're curious
Hi all! Where do we turn in preserves for the jam-boree?
So what crop gives the most yield at the fastest rate to preserve for the jam-boree?
Bok choy grows in like 3 days and i usually get 150 ish if i use all my garden plots
In game days i mean
it automatically tracks on s6's side
Note that apples take a LONG time to preserve (but they also keep chugging while you are offline)
oops, I had the wrong metric there
So carrots or tomatoes for quick preserve time. How fast do they grow?
lol here's the fixed version, with crops per tile per tick and not just per tick...
Jam-Boree Stats: Which preservable crops are fastest?
Short answer: TOMATOES.
Followed by bok choy, carrot, beans, onion.
Potato, corn, and spicy pepper are in the middle.
Everything else is slow.
Numbers below assume all crops are harvest boosted.
👉 NOTE that bok choy, potatoes, and beans are all more profitable (per crop) as SEEDS, not as preserves. However, bok choy kimchi is MORE gold per tile per tick than any other preserves and also second-fastest to grow (tied with carrots).
How many jars do I need?
Depends on your playtime and specific crops. See here: #🌱│gardening message
Another Important Note
Preserves jars STALL at 61 preserves produced. Empty your output bins regularly!
This next part is speculation...
Given how similar tallies (e.g., dailies, Bug-a-Palooze) have worked, I SUSPECT — but can't say for absolutely certain — that in order to be counted, the preserves MIGHT need to be collected from the jars/land in your inventory in order to count. Further clarification needed from Lacie or another S6 team member.
So long story short, grow and preserve tomatoes for the event?
I mean, you'll probably also want an AFK layout unless you're super good at tending every hour
I'll probably just use my normal garden and swap my seeders for extra preserve jars
Well, most of my seeders
I'm not actually gonna change what I'm doing, but I already produce a silly number of preserves since I'm already growing and preserving tomatoes, corn, and onions as a matter of course. (And also apples, but as noted, they're pretty slow)
I have 4 beans bushes, 9 Bok Choy, 7 potatoes and 3 rice that I tend to seed. Guess I will swap rice for corn for a bit, but no harm in swapping the other stuff I seed for preserves for the event for me.
Getting a supply of canned beans won't be a bad thing 😄
They're good animal food
and people food, for that matter
(assuming you mostly cook solo otherwise)
You know I do, so reckon that's aimed at anyone else who might read the post haha
So do we know where to turn in the event items?
My assumption is that, like with bug-a-palooza, S6 will just track all the preserves we collect from our preserve jars and tally them, just like they tallied all the bugs we looted. There was no "turn in."
additionally, from the FAQ
https://palia.com/news/the-jamboree
I just reread the announcement. So it tallying as we make.
also keep an eye on https://discord.com/channels/809856101326913567/1227747895306879096 in case Lacie posts any additional clarifications
Bullseye likely to be good for people wanting to churn out as many jams as possible, makes an average of 56 per growth tick (can add 4 HB fert to corners for 100% harvest boost)
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.4_D-111-111-111_CR-PTBkCRCrBkCrT-CPTCrRCrPCBk-BkCPCrRTTCrBk-TCrBkPRCCCrP-TPTCrRCrTBkT-PCrCCRPBkCrT-BkCrTTRCrPCBk-BkCPCrRCrTPC-TCrBkCrRCBkTP_GtL50Cr0.RS-BkP-TP-CrP-PP-BtP-CP
if you have it handy, would you mind pasting the layout URL into this post?
I was wrong, modified Bullseye is slightly better than orignial Bullseye, 60 preserves per growth tick on average (again, 4 HB fert in corners is optional)
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.4_D-111-111-111_CR-P.HTBkCBtBtBkBtBt-CPTCrRCrTCBk-BkCP.HBtBtTBtBtBk-TCrBkPRCCCrT-PTPCrRCrPBkP-TCrCCRPBkCrT-BkBtBtTBtBtP.HCBk-BkCTCrRCrTPC-BtBtBkBtBtCBkTP.H_GtL50Cr0.RS-BkP-TP-CrP-PP-BtP-CP
Could probably get higher numbers of preserves with more tomatoes/bok choy/carrots, but that would need a bunch more fertiliser
I wonder how much of a difference just subbing in corn for the rice would be (and then HB fertilizing it ofc)
Only 5 tiles XD
Went up to 62.55 average preserves per day
Could be worthwhile, depends how much you hate/love fertilizer I reckon XD
Not sure if this is the right forum for this. But, I noticed the flowering bushes I get from the Kilima events all went back to the small versions, and now I can continuously water them and they go back and forth between how they look when you first plant them and the small flowering version, but never get big. I'm not the only one experiencing this right? Sorry if this has already been discussed a lot!
It's a known bug, we all have that.
True, could be worthwhile.
With the Jam community event, what crop is going to produce the fastest and then preserve the fastest to hit the goal in time? I thought tomato since it multi harvest and chili peppers ? Anyone thoughts
just joining in on this convo, which is fastest to preserve and how many preservers should we have, I have 3 atm
thanks for making and sharing this!
love the data, thanks!
I think I read tomatoes up above, not sure on peppers, trying to catch up with what's going on and does it matter if starred or not?
I’m going to harvest what ever. I might take a worm bin down to put up another presence jar.
Wonder if the preserve in my preserve jars will count? Or only what’s made from now till next week
Good question, no way to know for sure
Tomatoes. They're the only crop to give more than 1 crop per day on average.
Really, you want to harvest boost them too to make it truly optimal.
If not using fertiliser, #🌱│gardening message is likely to be the layout best for pure number of preserves
Peppers aren't amazing. Just over half as good (per tile) as Tomatoes per crop for number of preserves you can make.
Okay, I only have Star produce and always fertilize. I’m excited for another community event and possibly a new plushie
Thank you for the info!
I would assume it is now to next week since the event only started today
Yep, it's running one week exactly. From the announcement post:
The Jam-boree begins at 10:00 a.m. PT on Tuesday, October 21 (Tuesday, October 21, 2025 1:00 PM - time local to you) and ends at 10:00 a.m. PT on Tuesday, October 28. (Tuesday, October 28, 2025 1:00 PM)
Do we need to submit them anywhere or just make them?
just make
Fab ty
Am I correct in saying that you can only ever have 9 dirt plots per housing plot? So if I want to farm more I have to make a second housing plot and add 9 more dirt plots to that?
max soil is 9. period. you can't get more than that
9 soils total not per plot
got it! Thank you! I wasn't sure if you could do what I suggested or not. That is helpful
Is there anywhere we track how many jars we've made?
I think it will be updated weekly in discord the website says. Not sure if there is a live counter though
Ah cool thank you
Sup guys, looking for advice!
I have been using the attached farming layout and it's 99% perfect, I maybe get 1 weed and I only need to water 2 plants daily but I was wondering if anyone could advice on a better layout for profits? I'm planning on turning part of my land into essentially a preserves factory! So any times and/or advice would be welcome! I've tried looking at the generators that tell you where to plant what but tbh I find them quite overwhelming.
I kinda wanna also add pumpkins, a couple corn & maybe a pepper plant aswell
Seed list!
2x Blueberry Bush
1x Apple Tree
4x Wheat
4x Rice
15x Carrot
10x Onion
19x Tomato
12x Potato
canu use this plz
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/
I've just taken a screenshot from this link https://www.ign.com/wikis/palia/Best_Palia_Farm_Layout it's the 9x9 one
Don't really wanna put it into another format and for people to think I've made it myself you know?
ok
mh since we have this go jar stuff challenge and some poeple wanna carry im goinna check which crops are most jarrable per growthtick per tile soon
comparison amount of jars for every crop/tile/180growthtick using a 180 growthtick cycle(cuz that was easier to math with and u just wanna know what has the most not how much /tick/tile it has
63+1/3 = 570/9 apples
87.5 = 350/4 blueberry
131.25 = 525/4 beans
105 spicypeppers
pumpkin im not even gonna bother with this one pumpkins are super low produce anyways 44
nr1. TOMOTOES with 198
nr2. BEANS with 131.5
nr3. 120 shared place CARROTS BOKCHOI
nr4. 105 SPICYPEPPER
nr5. ONIONS with 90
nr6. BLUEBERRY with 87.5
nr7. 72 shared CORN POTATOE
nr8. APPLES with 63 +1/3
nr8. CABBAGE with 60
nr9. PUMPKINS are deadlast with the terrible 44
in conclusion the absolute best layout for comping that challenge is THE adhd approved max dopamine
tryhard tomatoes
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.4_D-111-111-111_CR-T.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.H-T.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.H-T.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.H-T.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.H-T.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.H-T.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.H-T.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.H-T.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.H-T.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.HT.H_GtL25Cr0.TP30-PP-CbP-BP-AP-CrP-BtP-CP-OP-BkP-SP-PmP
which will give 84.9 jars per growthtick
can also be made slightly less tryhard by mixing in one more water retain crop for example
is it better to sell canned pumpkin or put it in the worm farm?
Ah ok. Yeah that's blueberries.
its best to jsut not grow it at all
unles u really like growing em in that case its jar but not by much
whats the best one? what should I do with it?
stovckpile ur pumpkins for cooking as theya re super bad tog row for profit
while i wouldnt personally sweat maxing ur garden profits per grwothtick to much
pumpkins are way below everything else somehow XD
just grow what fun for u pick something afk if u dont wanna babysit it
oh dear
That layout hasn't been "best" in a very long time, and it's not even 100% AFK, ouch
I bet we can help you find one that works for you that WON'T get weeds or need watering \o/
So, you're after profits, you said, with a focus on the Jam-Boree this week? The layout Cysruleon linked here will serve you well for both purposes for now: #🌱│gardening message
Keep in mind that some crops are better as seeds, so after the Jam is over, you might want to switch to seed collectors instead for those. Namely:
- bok choy, potato, beans
- anything that can't go in a jar (rice, wheat, etc.)
If you're just looking for profit-focused layouts in general, check here:
#🌱│gardening message
Some of these are AFK, but not all.
The top cash crops for solo processing are:
- bok choy (as seeds)
- potatoes (as seeds)
- rice (seeds)
- tomatoes (jar)
- and beans (seeds) as the honorable mention multi-tile crop
This doesn't take into account profit cooking parties or other needs (like apples for honey lures, for example, if you want to grow those).
If you'd like a layout that includes specific crops, then please tell us what you're wanting to grow and we can help you find something.
The easiest solution to this (for future reference) is to link the source post in the same message as the garden planner link. If you aren't able to provide a garden planner link, that means whoever is helping you modify the layout has to recreate it in the garden planner anyway.
And here I thought apples were better than tomatoes
Yall, is the jamboree really gonna be won by max tomato canning?
Depends how tryhard you're willing to get with watering your tomatoes hourly lol
(I'm sticking with AFK layouts because I am time-blind as all heck, lol)
Oh yeah no I’m definitely gonna sprinkle in potatoes lol
You'll also want everything harvest boosted
what do we do with the jams and cans after theyu are done making?
Sell 'em (or eat them/feed to animals, for the canned beans, if you're otherwise a solo cook and need the focus food)
And maaaaybe might need to pull them OUT of the preserves jar
That is pure speculation on my part, though, based on how dailies work
and also based on how Bug-a-Palooza worked
(you had to pick up the bugs for them to count as "caught")
However, I'm completely prepared to be wrong about that
I checked! Although it just confirms your speculation.
Yes, we just gotta craft, they encourage you to sell them so I am assuming it doesn’t count until you take it out of the preserve jar.
no, they say in the post about it that it's jams, preserves or cans
So the tomatoes and carrot take the less amount of time to preserve at 27 mins. But after playing for 3hrs IRL I got less then 20 preserves using 4 preserves jars. I fill like this isn’t great and unless I’m playing 24/7 definitely don’t feel worth it. Any help or what others are doing?
Crafters run even when you are offline
(unlike your garden)
So, load them up and let them go
This lowkey has me wondering if - since I am well above 38 gardening and not really hurting for gold - it would make even a bit of sense to go buy my seeds from Zeki this week lol
Oh my gosh I’ve been playing this game for 1.5yrs and didn’t know that… dang. All my jars are filled with stuff, I think I got 7 going
Awesome! Just be sure you don't let the preserves stack up too far in the output bin. It will stall after 61 items have been processed.
Oh yea, I wish they would fix that but was told my S6 long ago that it’s not a problem it cause the star product in them is trying to make an none star preserve which doesn’t make sense
It's because there is a very teeny tiny chance of getting a random UNstarred preserve as a bonus item
The seedmakers use the same logic
I just had a silly thought.
You can BUY vegetables. And can them. You will lose gobs of money doing so... but it's possible to do! It is an option!
I know but farming can be overwhelming when you dunno what you're doing so I just grabbed what I could and rolled with it 😅
Ahhh okay sorry I didn't realise this!
I'm not super fussed about what I grow but ive got a big backlog of carrot, potato, onion and wheat seeds at the moment! I just kinda want a balance between speed and profit, I prefer just making preserves over seeds because I enjoy it more 😂
Where do we check counts or whatever?
We don't. Lacie will likely update us in one of the channels (maybe #📢│community-news ?) when milestones are hit
Or might just be #📢│palia-news - can't remember which channel the Insect-a-Palooza update was shared in
Thank you
hey, how do I participate in the jamboree?
Just make stuff in a preserve jar
ah ok, thanks

Or, for those just looking for an easy weed/water-free layout that works well for jams, #🌱│gardening message
You can replace the rice for corn for a bit more preserves if you use extra harvest boost fertiliser too
Love a jam event when I already run 16 preserve jars round the clock lol
Is there an up to date guide about worm farms anywhere? Every time I try to search one up it seems like outdated info
There is a spreadsheet here
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Glow_Worm_Farm
And if you press "expand" under worm farm recipes this is for the reg worms
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Worm
Basically most output depends on the item's sale value. More expensive stuff like grilled fish, give more worms
Most people use low cost, easy access refillables like excess veggies, mushrooms, meat
I like Congee tho. It's quick to make on the grill, affordable using only 2 rice, and gold congee gives 3 glow worms and 10 harvest boost fertilizer. Or I'll use grilled cactus moray cause they are an easy to catch but nicely priced fish. They give 8 glow worms and 62 worms per grill
This is what I aspire to do 😂
Thank you!
Yeah, I've always just tossed my inexpensive foragables in there, but I've been curious if I've been missing out by not optimizing somehow. Seems a bit same-same as far as profit-to-time-expended goes, unless I needed mass quantities of worms quickly? Although I struggle with interpreting this type of math
If you can dump excess resources daily on a reliable schedule, that's a nice steady flow of worms. If maybe you know you're only gonna play once or twice a week, you'd probably be better off with more expensive items to get a higher count in a shorter time. A friend of mine dumps some of their excess from the cooking parties they attend. It's really all a matter of how your game play meshes with what resources you have at your finger tips
Is there a way to know the progress count of how many jams we've all collectively made?
As I know you're ranching, the produce the animals give are perfect for glow worm farms. They include the highest profit margins you can get for glow worm farms (+31g) for the 9g EW mushrooms.
Eggs, Milk, Staircase/Floatfish/Mountain Morel all give 40g in a glow worm farm (+25-31g profit)
Elder Clam Mushroom Meat gives 45g, unless starred, then 50g (+22g profit unstarred)
Honey gives 47g (+22g profit)
Brightshrooms are best wormed not glow wormed, (80g, +20g profit)
If you have 30 animals, you may going to struggle to process all the produce anyway - with no productivity traits, you could need 7 glow worm farms running non-stop to keep up
Nope. The blog post about it said they would update us when we hit milestones
That makes a lot of sense. I've seen people say they strictly put in cakes or other high level food, but it makes sense now that that would be bc they do a lot of cooking parties
Woah I should really get into farming more XD I had no idea
Ohhh super good to know! I usually use ew mushrooms bc I also spend entirely too much time shmole hunting and can't turn them into worms/muskin fast enough to use them all. Glad that's a good choice on my part lol
I mean, it's still not crazy profitable, but I like it.
Works well as a steady stream of stuff for the farms, but if you want quick high volume worms, other options may be better
I wish the limit of crafters were higher. I'd love to have more worm bins, but I need too many preserves jars
Or, better yet, if they'd make another upgrade level for them
I feel like they don't scale as well as they should
Hey guys, are worm farms more profitable than glow worm farms? And are there any updated spreedsheets showing best usage of seed makers, preserve jams and worm farms? I've found some old ones from 2023/2024
Depends on what you put in. General rule of thumb, for low cost things, Glow Worm Farms are better, but otherwise Worm Farms tend to be. There are exceptions. The pinned Fertiliser Outcomes sheet is worth a look though. Also, I wrote this not long ago #🌱│gardening message
#🌱│gardening message has a few charts for seeds vs preserves (my only criticism is they don't account for the replanting cost - otherwise, they're great)
how can i join pump in jam event ?
Join by making jams, that's all
just making jam thats it and where i submit this jam ?
You don't need to submit it anywhere, it's just tracking how many jams/pickles/canned things we make
just make not sale it right ?
Not quite. Both of those crops are more profitable preserved, yes, but they are not the most profitable
No reason not to sell it really
because i'm making a jams most for selling it thats why i ask it
i have apple jams like 80 , blue berry jam like 30 popato jam 97 , corn jam 38 , tomattow jam 136 , and so on like i have all almost 200
every thing is star quality
Most profitable preserves in terms of gold per tile per day btw:
Bok Choy (though it is better seeded for more profit)
Potatoes (again, best seeded)
Tomatoes
Corn
Carrot
Onion
Apples
Beans
Cabbage
Blueberries
Spicy Peppers
Pumpkins
If you want pure quantity of preserves for the event, Tomatoes are best, followed by Beans (but you'd need harvest boost on them)
I've just traded virtually all my seeders for preserve jars and just preserving everything for the event, stuck with the same layout except some corn instead of rice
I was following these calculations. And how many of each device should I have? I have 1 worm farm, 1 glow farm, 4 seed makers and 11 preserve jars. I think I have too many preserve jars, I have to play a lot to produce enough apples, berries and pumpkins so they don't stand idle
Apple Jam
Blueberry Jam
Bok Choy Kimchi
Canned Beans
Canned Pumpkin
Napa Cabbage Kimchi
Pickled Carrots
Pickled Corn
Pickled Onions
Pickled Potatoes
Pickled Spicy Pepper
Pickled Tomatoes
this is list for cooking this event i took this for official website
@wise canopy i have only 4 preserve jar and 3 seed maker
3 glow worm farm and 1 normal
Ah, right, you were talking about what to put into a glow/worm farm specifically, not just what to jar. I see.
That preserve list doesn't take into account how many you get per growth tick and the number of tiles the crop occupies. It's purely looking at what makes the most profit per transaction of the glow worm farm. Which...well, it's a valid way of looking at it if you are able to keep the glow/worm farm running constantly. But Blueberries are just bad for profit in general and apples are rather middling.
You would be better off selling the Apple/Blueberry jam and glow worming milk/eggs/mushrooms you get from Ranching - 22-31g profit per transaction. If you don't want to do ranching, Shmole hunting for a bit can get you huge amounts of cheap mushrooms to put in the glow worm farms too. Or hunting Sernuk/Muujin for their meat is good too. All better options than using the preserves from gardening.
The question of how many of each crafter you need is a very hard to answer question. It depends on what you grow and how much you play each day. Honestly, it's hard to work out so I'd just say try putting some down and see if you run into backlogs that you can't process
in My experience don't put any jam and any food for glow worms because most of food give you only 1 glow warm and normal any meat you get 3-4 better you put sweet leaf into the glow warm farm and his give you quality fertilizer and this is help you to get start quality crops and this crops put into a jam and make lots of money
always keep in mind star quality crops give you lots of money so always make star quality.
glow warms and normal warm just for a catch for a fish and this fish give you lots of money and some time you get rear fish so yeah
this is help to get faster way to get gold
Yeah, I agree with most of that
some time im think this game give you less farming space if you play stardew valley here you make all path your farming land but here less have and this is limitation for growing all crops
more soils is more work but if all hte production values remained the same apple orchard it is
@floral talon but you think more work give you more crops and more crops give you more money it's up to you if you want to keep for food or sell or make a jem and sell it
more money
i kinda just famr for the xp at this point XD
mawshimi partys XD
🤭
i'm just thinking because i play lots of games stardew valley i play and understad each and everything
Is there any specific things I should grow to level gardening faster?
no everything is hte same xp/tile/growthtick
I planted tomatoes and the cabbage(?) For water retention, bok choy since it grows fast i was told
Ah so it just takes foreverrrrr (mostly my fault kinda ig since I can only get on an hour per night so I can collect ranch produce but my plants only grow 1 stage)
plants grow at 0600 palian time when online and one time after
Yea which the 0600 is usually 15 after each hour right?
for most timezones yes
But since I just dont have a lot of time to put into the game I'll be on for like an hour and my plants don't get much of a chance
@supple stone Yeah, I know these spreadsheets lack some important info that's why I was looking for better ones :p I play few hours a day or at least try to log in to do gardening stuff. I don't know what should I plant, atm I have 5 apple trees and 4 pumpkin spots. I add rice/wheat/corn to give them harvest boost and I have 8 spots left to plant anything else. I used to plant cotton for the quality buff but I used QU fertilized for that but I'm not sure if it's worth it. I'll change the plan a bit in the upcoming days as I need some vegetables and fruits for cooking
If you're after profit, pumpkins are terrible and apples are very middle of the road.
#🌱│gardening message has a link to a post with good charts for crops. It doesn't include the cost of replanting, but the main difference with that is that replanting costs make apples worse than beans.
However, apples are very convenient crops. Which suits many people better than going all in on profit.
Quality Up is questionably useful after gardening level 10 or so. If using starred seeds, at level 10 you have a 70% chance of starred crops, which is rather good. You still gain some benefit from quality up, but you gain more from harvest boost.
I could dig up some layouts here tomorrow if you wanted. There are a few different compilation posts, one for profit-focused farms, one for afk-focused farms and another for everything gardens.
For now though, bedtime for me.
Very good advice, thank you. I use preserves for my animals since star blueberry jam, specifically, gives 220 points towards their hunger sat. I have crop rotations on and keep every blueberry for jam already lol
Canned Beans are more cost effective than Blueberry Jam btw, but it's not a bad option.
problem with canned beans is that u then dont get their seed value
For feeding animals that's less of an issue
yeay true as u otherwise would waste exces focus anyways
@supple stone Thank you so much <3 If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I'd love to get some garden planning tips in the next days. No rush though :) Have a good night!
I have a pretty good minimum effort everything garden layout (all produce, 100% water retention, 100% harvest boost), if you don't mind a complicated setup
But I like the ease of apples, so there are def setups more maximized for profit
There is a lot of overwhelming information in here. LOL
I am overwhelmed. @_@
it is a lot for beginners. don't hesitate to ask questions. there's usually a few of us that are lurking here in the channel to help out
Its a LOT Lmfao
I dont know what is the best layout ;-; ahhhhhh I have unlocked my apple tree so thats neat but then I saw people saying apples are trash D:
Are pumpkins not great for money? D:
they are at least 40% worse then beans
And you can your beans yeah? Or are you all cooking? D: I wanna be a gardening, preserving chef!!!!
apples are "middling" for profit. there are other crops that do a lot better for gold (bok choy, potatoes, beans for example). however. they are a great crop for afk builds where you like to be out in the game doing other things (fishing, hunting, bug catching, story quests) as they take a long time to grow (12 growth tics/hours to first harvest).
unless you are doing an everything garden, we never recommend pumpkins as they are not very good. they take 9 growth tics to give only 2 (3 with harvest boost) crops per harvest. other bushes give you 6/9 (non/harvest boosted)
theres reasons for pumpkins but none of em are profit
So what are they for?
What layout would you guys suggest? D: I feel so lost ahahaha. Its like everyhthing I naturally discovered is now - worthless 😭
isabella what do u want ur layout to do
profit or just xp
water retain
weedblock
soemthing specific for cooking
and what is ur gardening level
do u need optimised or just simpler to plant
I guess I didn't think about that. I don't mind tending to my garden, I got an outfit for that. I can rp. LOOL
Um, I'd like to make food, preserves for sure, and feed my ranch animals ;-; I'm level 10 but looking to up thawt !
Since you're newer, I'd recommend an everything garden so you have a little bit of everything to play around with and figure out more about what you'll actually use. Then, later on, you can narrow down if there's stuff you never use and you decide you'd rather swap things out for extra profit or more crafting supplies or cooking ingredients you use a lot of.
It's easy to sell off extra stuff, but it's harder to suddenly need something and not have it (especially if you need to switch around your whole garden layout to get it)
I wish we could have more plots. would really scratch the itch I feel :/
I'll search for an everything layout! 😄
Preserved tomatoes are really good for ranching food. Canned beans can be too, but canned beans are also the best focus food to carry around for yourself (lots of focus, easy to make, and stacks a lot into one inventory spot)
At least for now, don't stress too much about which plants will give the highest profit. The biggest difference in how much profit you make is how often you check your garden. If you check in frequently, you can make a ton of gold no matter what you plant
I learned the piggies LOVE pickled potatoes xD
Canned Beans are the most cost efficient convenient food for animals actually (unless you're not filling much focus).
They are only the best food for you if you don't like cooking. Then yeah, best convenient food source for sure.
Garden planning tips - try to get as much buff coverage as possible really. If you're only caring about profit, harvest boost is the GOAT. For reducing your workload, water-retain is imo the best.
Quality Up buff is irrelevant after level 25 if you use star seeds, and after 38 if you don't. It starts to lose effectiveness the moment you start using star seeds though (max +50% star chance from it, and you start with 50% chance if you use star seeds - 25% base chance and 25% from star seed - then you get 2% star chance per gardening level). So, if you really want 100% star crops before level 25, you can use it, but it will make fitting all the other buffs in harder, and may not boost your profit as much as expected.
Also, making fabric from cotton is rather expensive. You are mathematically better off growing rice, seeding it, selling the seeds and buying fabric than making the fabric yourself.
As for actually constructing the layouts, buddy up crops of the same buff - like tomato x potato, give each other water retain and whatever are around them. Can do lines of tomato-potato-bok choy-onion and the line is 100% WR/WB for example.

The image is a list of how much gold per in-game day per tile each crop can make, accounting for replant costs. Naturally, this is only accounting for seeding/preserving. If you go to cooking parties with your crops, you're likely to make far more money.
How can I help with the marmeldae? Is it enough if I make it, or do I have to take it somewhere?
I don't know how this event works. I'm from Germany, and English isn't my strong suit.
All you need to do is make stuff in a preserves jar, that's it
Just manufacture? Don't sell anything? That's easy. Thanks for your quick help.
You can sell it
It doesn't matter if you keep, eat or sell the preserves, all that counts is you make them
Hi! Do i need to be in a community for the jamboree or can I craft solo?
u just need to do anything with hte jarmaker
oh, oki ty!! was worried because i couldnt find a community
its more for #🏡│decor but I really like how the layout of my garden looks from the bird perspective c:
i approve
theres a layout with 6 apples to
Hihi! Ive been playing for ages but never really focused on gardening but now with the new alchemist home stuff i wanna buy all of it but in desperate need of more money. Whats the most efficient way to garden for profit?
Most efficient is grow some crops, take what you've grown to cooking parties.
If you want to process stuff yourself, highest profit is a full layout of bok choy, all with harvest boost fertiliser every growth tick, manual watering/weeding. I wouldn't advise it personally, but it's the best for profit.
Other options, see #🌱│gardening message
I wish we weren't limited to a 9x9 😭
I love abundance and variety
That is gorgeous
I also made this one with 6 bushes a little bit ago
#🌱│gardening message
Must have missed it, have added it to that post.
You out of characters to add things to the compilation post?
If i have a bunch of quality up fert from worms is there any point in putting quality up produce in my garden?
Idk if they stack the chance for a basically garunteed starred crop or?
anyone else's preserves jars doing this?
That depends.
You always have 25% chance of starred crops
If using starred seeds, get a bonus 25%
You get 2% extra chance per Gardening level, meaning at level 25 you are guaranteed starred crops with starred seeds.
If you get Quality Up through other crops or fertiliser, then that's a bonus 50% chance...if the buff is present every in-game day of growth. If not, you might not get the bonus quality chance at all.
Even if you do get the bonus quality chance, you might not actually use all of that 50%.
So, take from this what you want
Yeah, that happens, empty the output
but i use it as secondary storage since my chests are packed
If my seeds are starred do I have to put quality fertilizer on it still?
Were the flower events this summer the only way to get the flower box crafting recipe?
What i take from this is to substitute careful planning with high quantities of 50% chance 🗿
Read this post a few messages above yours #🌱│gardening message
That's fine, but you'll always have the same result. I'd say just sell the preserves personally.
The flower bloom event still happens.
The only things that were time limited were the nameplates from the bulletin board.
All the flower pot recipes are still obtainable.
So go do a bunch of flower bloom events and hope RNG is on your side. Good luck!
Oh! I didn't realize they were still happening! How do I find them?
Noon in Kilima. It will be in one of 6 spots across the map. It will have an aura effect similar to flow tree groves but yellow
Thank you! I took quite a break from the game so I'm behind lol
Yeah lol
Feel that haha
I gotta figure out a way that I can add more but it's the links that are making hard cause they seem to count towards the limit, and they contain a lot of characters
i wonder how much fert it takes to 100% 3 buffs on that
Yeah, it's such a pain
I had to rephrase a bunch in the post from earlier to fit your other layout in haha
Yeah, I think I'll have to shorten the explanation at the beginning of the compilation post, and also the description of each layout. If I make more I'll probably end up splitting them into 2 different compilations. Or maybe I could do that rn, most of them are either lots of grains or more bushes and apples so maybe I could just put them each in a different category. I'm doing a bad job at explaining this lol
They really are
Ok, time to mess around with my compilation post until it works out lol
Good luck 🙂
Thanks
Hi everyone! Which crops are most valuable as preserves?
I managed to fit the 2 new ones in there. I'll see about splitting the compilation into 2 if I end up making more layouts that can't fit in
Are the layouts on a document or website or are they your own personal ones? 😇
They're all mine, they're layouts I made with the garden planner and shared in here. Here's the compilation
#🌱│gardening message
Omg thank you you legend 😭 which one would you recommend for preserves/profits?
Oh, I don't specialize in profit layouts, I make everything gardens that are 100% water retain/weedblock. I honestly wouldn't know what to point you to to maximize profits
If you can regularly join epic sushi/sashimi parties where you can bring only rice then my lots of grains gardens are a great way to make profits but otherwise idk
Ahhh okay cool thank you! ❤️
Feel like such a newbie when I compare to most folk on here 🥲😂
A lot of us have been playing for over a year or even longer. I myself was absolutely clueless about how gardening worked when I started a year ago, my 1st layouts were insanely bad, I was basically just throwing anything in there willy nilly
It truly is a vibe isn't it? 😂
Really is. I mean, look at this
I actually used that
For a couple weeks
No wonder I hated gardening back then
I at one point had 5 dirt plots all slots JUST wheat
Lol
I proceeded to craft a truck load of ramen
Oh, ok, I see
But now that I know how the plants next to eachother stuff works ive tried the nappa cabbage, tomatoes, bok choy and I think my last plant was rice? I cant remember
I just sold all the tomatoes without processing when I had that insane layout. Lots of loss of profit, especially since I was buying the fert
1/3 my ramen goes to chickens for more eggs 1/3 I eat and the last 1/3 goes to worms
I would make something else but I dont have many cooking recipes and chickens and wheat are like.... almost all the ingredients for ramen
People tell me to make my most expensive dish but the only better one I have than ramen is steak and if im on my laptop my internet connection can be a bit iffy
I should've been making ramen for my animals this whole time. I do have a garden layout that has a total of 16 grain tiles, which is more than enough to do that. And with all the eggs and mushrooms we get from ranching that really only leaves garlic to forage and that's not hard to find
Take it back gonna use this one 😂😂😂
Oh ramen for the animals is a good shout I've been using grilled meat
Apparently canned beans are good too. I just changed my layout to put nore beans in but I'm thinking I might just switch back to my 16 grains and use more wheat instead of mainly rice in there
I buy it from zeki cus im too lazy... the garlic
Lol
People in #🐔│ranching told me that ramen isnt technically the best food since it isnt a multiple of 10
Like focus gain wise
My layouts are 100% water and weedblock so I just plant, forget about it, harvest/replant/water the replants then forget about it again
Im personally not too worried about that level of mine maxing though
I also play hardcore WoW at the moment so when I level on WoW I just log into palia for the 0600 tick and water them then 😭
Yeah, cause the maths seems to be that you gain 2xp per 10 focus gained so if you repeatedly feed your animal something that gives say 15 focus then you constantly lose out on xp
Although I also only have level 5 gardening while my other skills are around 7 other than foraging
Yeaaa but I mean... my ranching is almost at level 8...like one egg collection away... while my gardening is at 4 and cooking is at 6....
And i have like 300g to my name
Yeah, I guess coming into ranching as a newbie is a lot more challenging than getting into it with a cooking level of 200 and most other skills around 60-75...and around 700k gold
I grabbed the game over a year ago while looking for more games like stardew cus even with loading stardew with mods its getting a bit repetitive but I only really started playing like 3 days before I joined the server...
Ranching has been the fastest to level skill but I pretty much got 2 pekis and just started breeding them to the 10/10 limit
Gardening i just figured out like 2 days ago so its still.... lacking for me
But i only have 5 of the 9 dirt plots so ive been tryna get only the crafting/cooking recipes I care about rn... finally doing some quests....
And then saving for the last 4 dirt plots in-between
I also have been holding onto a bunch of the renown points and didnt know how to use them to expand my house plot so ive just had my crafters cramped up next to my garden without realizing 😭
||HOLY YAP||
Also if you haven't been doing that already, don't forget to upgrade your max focus and your focus bonus at the Pheonix and Dragon shrines, it'll help your skilld level faster, especially if you prioritize upgrading your focus bonus. That also uses renown
I
Have not done that... do you mean i level faster since I technically have more focus and the focus is what helps me level faster?
Or does it also have a separate effect that makes it faster
Ive just operated by always carrying like 15 bowls of ramen of like 10 steak dinners on me at all times and eating before it empties... not saying im not gonna do it but I just dont know if I want to focus on adding a little more space for gardening first or just pouring it into focus
Since focus hasn't really been an issue for me yet
Yup. Your focus bonus is a multiplier for the xp gain as long as your focus bar isn't empty. And upgrading your max focus means you can go longer without your focus fully depleting
Ah ok
I might extend my house plot a little bit more first then
I havent run out at any times other than when im running on auto pilot ranching but thats more of a tunnel vision problem tbh
I feel you I've been playing for maybe 2 months now and I got the game the day it released for the switch, I got overwhelmed and abandoned it 😂
I just ended up having a lot to do at that time
Im used to games that are a like... if you start playing them you basically have to make a commitment to them but with life recently I dont have that time to commit so this is a VERY nice change of pace
Someone said that I could grow anything to level gardening since its all the same xp/tile
But does quality also give a bonus bit of xp? Might forego the cotton for now if not for something else i can cook with
what is this website / app?
I have no clue, I found it on reddit
Ended up using a different one though
I belive someone said the name of it here recently cus ive been meaning to check it oit
Found it ^
So this is what I currently have planted... which this tool actually taught me that the middle tomato doesnt cover the 8 squares around it like I thought it did
Some of the rice is cotton though currently but again I feel im going to swap that anyways
And then I also put quality up on all of them
Thank you!
E
Of these two im not quite sure which id rather do... onions i domt really have a use for other than weed prevention on my bok choy
I could also throw quality boost fert on it if I feel
There's also probably a better combination right in front of me that I dont see lol
I mean this second one has 100% water retain which is nice
