There are some things you can do to improve performance. Playing while docked or connected to power is the big one. Moving the game to the built-in storage, shutting down the Switch. (not just putting it to sleep), and checking for corrupt data are a couple other things. But, as Frogga wrote, it's never going to be great.

Anyone else have an issue with chat? I was chatting just fine, didn’t swap servers or leave the area, and all the sudden every time I clicked enter it would change my screen to windowed instead. Whenever I manually click on chat and try to type, all the keybinds start to open. This has been a consistent issue for months now

You don't need any water drops to apply tints. You just enter decorating mode and then click on the furniture to open up the tint menu. Then select the tint you want and click apply

helloooo, i introduced my mom to the game and she's been playing for a few months now. Since about a month ago, she's been trying to get the inyrevn mermaid, but she has never even seen it. I've even tried to help her, fishing in the right spots, recommended ones by the community with all the requirements (glow worms, any time) and its like the damn fish doesn't exist. It's not that we can't catch it, for some reason it just won't spawn, and it's been over a month now and she logs in every day and it's the same thing. Could it be a bug?? Is anyone else having problems with this??

as for selling fish raw or not, it depends on the method you plan to use to cook it. cooking fish solo isn't usually very profitable, but it can be very profitable in a group. if you don't want to cook in a group there's one thing you can do to potentially boost value: grill any normal quality fish you have on a campfire for a chance the resulting grilled fish will be star quality which will increase the value by 50% compared to its raw components. that said, probably not worth the time if the fish are very low value to begin with.

So, it seems the issue lies with elderwood rare fishes, the recipe doesn't recognize them. I tested with the ancient koi and angelfish (elderwood), a blue marlin (bahari) and radiant sunfish (kilima), and the recipe only recognizes the last 2. I'll forward the bug (And if you want the fish I caught so you can craft the recipe, feel free to request them from me, or the tuning fork itself )

This is a variation of the problem I was having, in that elderwood rare fish can't be used to make a tuning fork.

Elderwood items in general don't count toward the dailies. For example an umbraan chair wouldn't work for the collect a chair one. This is what actually made me think of it being the issue with the tuning fork @short turret Hopefully with the next map update this'll get fixed

Yes a starred fish will count towards the accomplishment and the master version. With one notable exception, when the game refers to an unstarred item, it means both unstarred and starred. That exception is Cooking. There unstarred means unstarred.

As long as your gardening level is at the required level, you can submit a player support ticket for further assistance with the quest. They'll be able to advise on how they can get the quest item to you.

I placed a PalTech ceiling fan and it was spinning normally. I tinted it and now the light still turns on but the fan stopped spinning.

Yes. Any fish caught from a bubble spot will be starred. Fish caught outside of a bubble spot will never be starred. The infected spots in the EW don't grant starred fish.

It has to do with the hit boxes. Sometimes the hit boxes are much larger than they need to be and you get collision even where there shouldn't be. So it's unfortunately just the way it is. Sometimes turning the grid off makes it work better, so I would start with that. And if not you can flick them, but that is a PC only glitch.

Just in case, there used to be a bug where instead of a message in a bottle, the recipe would show up as an Ancient Koi which is a fish exclusive to the Elderwood.

Also, if you need to save on bait, you don’t have to reel in every single fish that bites. Once a fish is hooked, it’ll bite 4 times and then jump out of the water so you can see what fish it is. If you miss it, then you can just leave your fishing rod in the water and it will continuously hook the same fish as long as you don’t reel it in. If it’s not the fish (or in this case, the recipe) you want, you can just let it swim away and then reel in your rod after and then recast

If you have any starred rare fish in your storage, you can place them down on your plot and then pick them up again. That will also register as "caught." But it has to be a kilima or bahari fish.

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to put this but i have been playing Palia for a couple of weeks now and i am on the "It takes a village" main quest. I have a fear of heights and really bad vertigo where i get light headed, feeling of being pulled, blood pressure goes up and heart starts racing, feeling as if i was about to pass out and more. I have been trying to get through this quest for 3 days now and just can't get through it. I was told in a stream i am watching that i could reach out to support and they would help me out.

The alchemist pieces are all in the lunar path now. You have to work your way through the path to get the different recipe bundles and then you'll be able to craft them from your workbench.

Have you tried clicking on "never crafted" in that little drop down? It should be there, so maybe the search function isn't working right. If you choose never crafted, all the things you haven't made yet should be at the very top of the list on the left.

Just keep fishing like Dory would say 😂… I personally like to fish on Einars pond, I don’t think it actually is more likely than the coast but my game seems to prefer it. And make sure your fishing in the bubbles 🫧☺️ oh and glow worms.. (I understand your probably doing all that) it took me a little while so don’t loose hope. 💗

generally the crops that are good to have a steady supply of are; cotton to make fabric, apple to make honey lures, batterfly beans to make canned beans (a good focus food to have on hand), and for cooking most meals you need carrots, corn, onions, potatoes, rice, tomatoes and wheat. and if you want to make a small profit from farming, starred apples sell for 96 each and starred blueberries sell for 58 each

Check if your pc time is synced to the internet, this causes a lot of issue with social features in Palia. Right click your taskbar clock, click adjust time and date, and make sure 'set time automatically' is on

At the time of your screenshot he is in his house inside of the echo wall, I think. He might have left already by now, but if he hasn't, go inside the wall, follow the road that leads to the tree and the first 'house' on the left should have him standing in the entrance

For 3 days irl days I haven't been able to collect from any of my animals except the cow types. AND My fishing level hasn't been raising. My EXP for fishing has just been stuck half way through 9. I don't know how to fix it. I've logged out, unstuck, ect. Nothing changes.

Re: animals -- are your ranching animals venerated? If so, this is why they aren't producing anymore.

Re: fishing level -- if you're catching fish and reeling them in for collection, and noticing your XP/level gain isn't changing, you should take a before picture of your fishing level and inventory, catch a few fish, and take an after picture of your fishing level and inventory showing your caught fish and send in a player support ticket for further help.

Yes, all animals age up and will eventually become venerated. You can check the age of your animal by looking at them in the roster, or, when on the feeding/interact menu, you will see their age below their name. It's likely your animals are venerated and no longer producing.

Oh that was when the tree you placed on one plot would also count towards the limit on every other plot! Yes, that changed, but for the better. Trees always counted, but imagine having a forest on one plot and going to another plot and already having 1000 decor spots taken by your forest on another plot!

anyone know how to fix the bug in worm farms where it stops making worms because it detects that my farm is full but theres literally either 2 slots or 1 slot open???

It's not a bug. The worm farm and glow worm farm produces 2 products: (glow) worms and fertilizer. There must be room for both. If you place high value food in them, that produces too much to empty the hopper. I think starred Maws Poke bowls can't even go into the hopper because just one would overflow the output bins.

which one did you make specifically? I just tested it by making 5 flotsam large candles and the bar definitely moved. however, that whole flotsam set is categorised as common so if you do one item the bar probably won't move very noticeably

It's a joke S6 did for April Fools day, the big heads are an effect that is on a 30 minutes timer and gets reapplied with every server change. Thus, if you're in the same server for 30+ minutes, you'll eventually look normal again. There isn't any known way to get out of it beyond that unfortunately.

You cannot connect rooms in a ring. The pieces only connect in one direction, so this won't work. It's not the size of the pieces... even if you had space, the hallways won't connect end to end like that.

Think of it as, any room can only have one path to a harvest house. Not sure why, but it seems to be what's behind this.

If I'm understanding your question correctly, it's because on the other side you are connecting the courtyard, which has an extension piece off it. That extension piece is not the same size as a hallway, it's shorter. But you can imagine all the rooms like batteries, with a "positive" end and a "negative" end (or a giving end and a receiving end?). You can only connect positive to negative.

If you look at the more zoomed out picture, you can see the courtyard is not acutally centered in relation to the grand harvest house. So even if they would attach, it's not the same size space on either side.

this is indeed the side with the harvest house piece, you would say it should be even on both sides to connect it all the way round... too bad now i have to change the whole plot or just fill the gap with a tree

It's not the size, though. They won't connect period, even if there is room. You can't connect the end of a hallway to the end of another hallway. they only connect in one direction.

Welcome home! One bit of advice I have to is do a little bit of everything to gain levels in all the skills. Getting your tools up to at least Fine (Iron and Heartwood) makes a big difference.

Hi again, I have been organizing a list of accomplishments both hidden and not that I still have left to complete. I used the wiki article many users recommend to others, the game itself, and some other resources and have listed 27 remaining but the game says i need 30 left. Hi, I need some help... I placed some hallway sections, but don't like them after all. Whenever I try removing them, or even the fireplace or any room, like I'd do with anything else, it asks me if I want to pick up the house, with everything being moved into my inventory

This is normal, there might be something left in the hallway like the default lamp that's triggering the popup

There's no way to get rid of it entirely, though after 30 minutes on the same server it'll disappear until you change areas. Additionally, it'll leave completely around <t:1775149200:f> your time.

I'm on the board trying to visit other plots. But when I click on a plot I'm back at my place with the sign "you are unable to visit this players plot"
Or something line that- my language-setting is on german

Are you using the green home board on the left side of your plot?

It sounds like you may be using the blue board that is on the right side of the plot

Okay good. It may be worth sending in a bug report if a restart doesn't resolve the issue for you. Because if you are accessing the tour board and it's giving you that error then something's going on.
