Yep. I have been trying to figure out which setting was messed up but it is a bug. Interacting with things turns off sprint. So throwing a bug bomb takes you out of sprint and a fast bug gets away.

Everything but the home-instance (where your personal house is) is open world and there's other players running around. If you're in a party together, then you all land in the same map and can run around and do mostly anything together.

There are certain trees you can’t cut alone, and there’s lots of things that get boosted when you work with other players, bonuses for fishing and mining and such. Cooking is leagues more efficient with more than 1 person too. Groves spawn every in game day at midnight in Bahari and it’s easier to find them with others too.

It isn't weird at all actually. It's okay to be frustrated when players review bomb a steam game without submitting proper feedback like the discord tells you too. Mixed/neg reviews on steam push players away a LOT. It's a genuine concern. Feedback is great, but it feels like it's being weaponized when this game is still so young and FREE.

And that's great that people are making an effort to help better the game in that way. But so many are forgetting it's a smaller team, doing their best, for a free game. Coding a game is difficult. Yes in Jels mirror but I believe it’s a once a week thing. You can change outfits every time you go to the wardrobe.

We have literally been asking for basic accessibility things, through feedback channels, since closed beta. I think some even BEFORE that. It rarely gets acknowledged. We shouldn't have to go through such lengths to be heard, seen, and have even just BASIC things added like a brightness slider.

And just because there has been ""Good things"" doesn't make anything that has been ""Bad"" or not talked about, seen or acknowledged, any better. it doesnt make it get swept under the rug. It doesn't excuse how the accessibilty front has been handled.

Plus, again. New players should know what problems this game has been having and still has. That's what reviews are for. To be informed to the state of the game, and what's wrong with it (and of course, yes, the good).

Toxic positivity doesn't make the game better. it just makes the game worse and make them think what they're doing is OK when it really isn't-- esp when it comes to accessibility, and saying you're inclusive when it locks out the disabled playerbase.

yes! it's not as deep as some other games but you still get quite a few options for face, hair, and default outfits. if you want special outfits/gliders though they're on the cash shop.

This is the type of toxic positivity that has pushed a lot of us out of love with this game and the company.

Many of us have been waiting for the Steam release because it's an area where the reviews can't be buried or ignored. It's no longer the pages upon pages of private feedback I've submitted over my 2+ years playing this game.

They are finally getting outside of the echo chamber. It's important for them to see that people are very critical about the game because it had so much potential, but is missing so much.

I don't blame the devs, mostly. If you read their company reviews on GlassDoor it's very clear the issues are mainly with how the company is run, as well as them having to answer to their investors / shareholders.

Palia needed a lot more time to bake before it went public.

Do you realize that people who might not exactly "need" a brightness slider in most games, have had mixed thoughts on how bright or even dark the game is? and how helpful a brightness slider would help those who aren't disabled?
