In my experience, reddit tends to dogpile on anything that promotes ignoring reality, sugarcoats it or escapes from it. Cozy games tend to do these because, well, sometimes you just dont want to deal with reality. And if Palia is glitchy on top of that, its a capital sin on top of another capital sin.

It depends on how fast you can collect/ do things. For example that old lady's quest about planting tree in your plot. You need to farm trees to get seeds (it's low chance to get so it's a bit of a grind)
You also need to wait 8hrs? In real life for house to be built but you gotta grind to get them materials (lots of stones and woods!)

In the hypothetical case that frogs were added to the game, would they be an insect or a fish? I know that insects are attracted with honey lures (but frogs like insects so they may be attracted by lures just because it implies insects will be around), and fish with worms (which are also food for a frog). So which one makes more sense for a frog?

Yeah you gotta have the app for your phone though. So it's not technically directly thru the switch. It's through the app connected to your switch account

Yes, via server sync. Hit O to open the friend menu, click on your friend, invite to server. However, if your server is full (25 people per server), you may not be able to immediately.

These last two patches were the absolute worst for breaking the highest number of unique things in the worst ways for the largest number of players.

I love the game, and the actual content is mostly awesome, with a few exceptions. But if they keep pushing new content so much faster than they are able to fix the things they break with every patch, pretty soon none of us will be able to play.

Just saw this - yes, you can play the same account on both. However, you need to link your Switch to your existing Palia account on the first time you open the Switch game in your profile, or you end up stuck with a new account on that Switch profile. But crossover play is a thing!

If you talked to at least 8 villagers, some people have reported it's autocompleted, yeah -- the 24 is optional. You lose some dialogue but can make the ornaments so it's not world-ending, but it is frustrating. (Look on google for the dialogue you missed, though, it's good stuff.)

well, that specific issue I can't really talk on because IME, mining nodes is always a little wonky. You don't really see players running up to join you, even if you look around beforehand. If I don't see anyone in my immediate area, I mine. They spawn often enough now that callouts are not needed.

I think that's exactly why they changed it, tbh - I had a circuit I would run to do palium mining and if something was empty I just kept going on my circuit, but now I can just go wander the map and mine. I didn't see any "wild" palium last night, but tbh I was more temple-focused.

I ended up going back home with like 50 Palium and 150 iron or something silly (though I did spend a loong time in Bahari) just by running around to areas I know have a lot of iron, finding palium + going on my circuit to hunt animals - the change doesnt seem bad at all really

I'm glad I already had "a lot" of Palium, before this change. That said, I like the "search and destroy" hunt for Palium, as it is, now. When I find some, it's more satisfying, somehow. Opinion. YMMV

Yeah, a lot of camping was starting to happen -- honestly I'm fine with palium popping up wherever. They did bump up the palium spawns for a while and I was having no problem mining even if there were campers, but this change makes it spread out and more potentially-available, so I'm okay with that.

They recently halved the cost for the backpack expansions/top-tier storage, so they are reducing some prices. I can also say that the holiday stuff for both Halloween and now Christmas is SO much more affordable than the stuff that was at Maji Market (I had to grind 60k gold for one plushie at Maji Market) so they are trying to make it happen.

This has happened at least twice before that I can think of - sudden exodus of people for a bit to play other games, then they all pile back when a cool update comes out. So I think it's part of the process in some ways. I adore Palia, personally. Can't wait for more plot (especially some of the stuff NPCs have talked about, I wanna see the big city for instance), but I'm willing to wait - and even if I don't play daily, I still play a lot more Palia than I do a lot of other games and I come back to it.

I've had the misfortune of encountering that too! I've also met a couple of palium farmers who let me take their share as I was just passing through. The update makes it unfarmable, and also makes the ore compass useful. It's probably good overall...we'll see! 🙂

||The clues all look like little grey things with dots on them - almost like a tiny stone tablet. They are difficult to find, but it's a search element. The treasures are also searchable but all look like different things you wouldn't expect to see in their environment. It wouldn't hurt to look on YouTube for some early-stage playthroughs to get a better visual of where stuff might be.||

I have sent feedback and Im now acceptably calm. But the new temple is terribly designed. Add jumping puzzles for events and quests you can avoid, thats fine, I already ignored one. But do not gate main content behind this. And behind silly moving puzzles.

Also do not gate content behind specific skills like cooking. Im a farmer, I do not enjoy cooking, if anything its my least favorite thing to do in the game apart from jumping puzzles and yet I need to cook some food to progress main story. Or put up request that is ignored for several hours. You simply do not do that. You let people progress by playing how they want, not how you want them to.

I'm very sure there's a mix of personal connectivity, reflexes, device, server sync and some other things I can't think of that will make each part of the game a tiny different for each player. I just can't ... when it comes to parkour or things like the temple airstreams. My reflexes are very weak compared to someone half my age. I mashed buttons till I figured out which worked. If you talked to at least 8 of them and then returned to your home plot, you likely had a visitor with the quest finish - the 24 people was an extended optional quest and is not required to complete (but you do miss all the dialogue from the ones you didn't talk to). You didn't lose anything other than the dialogue, but I know it's frustrating.

If ||you completed the sisters' quests, and have done the main temple plotline, you've completed the temple. You do not have to complete "thief of the gales", Zeki's item quest, to finish the temple -- you can come back and do that later if desired. You should get the Vault of the Gales quest once you go back home too.||

why is something broken after every patch? yesterday i had no display while fishing and multiple crafting is broken so i only get 1 item instead of the selected number and now... oh wonder a new bug.

Multicrafting is broken for everyone, nobody can make more than one at a time right now. It's a known thing. There's a couple other minor glitches with the crafting table too (stuff not showing every ingredient needed for the recipe).

Makes sense, some people have been able to get to 25, that's probably with Subira unlocked.

Reth's been glitching for a lot of people. Try talking to Subira or Tau if you haven't talked to them. If you've already talked to them, you can go back through the other villagers (don't forget the ones in Bahari), but if you don't get all 24, don't stress; 24 is an optional quest. When you return home, with any amount after 8, you'll have quest completion.

I missed Reth. Someone said, was supposed to talk to Reth during the first 8 people to light the candle with. I didn't and... I ended up with 23/24. Whoops.

It really is. I spent about 7 hours in the temple yesterday searching for stuff. There -are- people starting to make guides for different elements of it now, and you may find those on YouTube if you're going absolutely mad and can't take it anymore -- but it was very rewarding finishing it on my own yesterday.

You can pre-download it, but it won't be playable until Dec 14th, the official release date. If you already play Palia, be sure that you're ready to link your current Palia account the FIRST time you open the game on Switch -- because you can only link it the very first time you open the game on the Switch. Either works. ||Just remember what they say so you can answer the questions. You can do them all at once if you want or you can do them one at a time. I kept going back through so I'd just check in with each sister to see if I'd found another as I passed by.||

You can predownload today so it's ready. But you link the first time you -open- the game, and you can't open it until the 14th. Note that if they have to do a hotfix, you may have to download any updates on the 14th before playing, but it still speeds up the process 🙂
