They are popular, sure. They aren't the "only thing people are doing", there are tons of people who aren't doing them. Making blanket statements don't improve your argument.

@amber widget I actually like the cooking. It's much more interactive than any other farm/life sim and is way more realistic. It would be very difficult for them to create a "building" mode for the house add ons so I get why it's not a feature.

I understand why the cooking may be frustrating and not for everyone. I think they are just trying to strike a balance between work and reward , mkaking the things that take more steps feel more rewarding so more people may be inclined to do them. I personally enjoy the cooking game as its more interacting than most but it does take some prep work that not everyone wants to do. My solution has sometimes been getting ingredients for my bf who loves cooking irl and in games and he makes food for me lol

I get it too. Honestly, I'd be happier with it if we had to do similar things to craft everything. If balance is the target then they've completely missed the mark.
