You can sell whatever you want theres no rules of course! But your options are to sell them outright, turn them to seeds, or turn them to preserves. That guide will breakdown the profits from each option. I think it only maths star quality though.

Dragon gives you a higher focus total. Phoenix gives you a higher focus percentage

personally, I'd focus on getting 1000 focus as fast as possible since Cakes are so easy to come by (cake parties) and the more focus you have, the less focus you waste on cakes, there is SOME merit to getting phoenix statues for the bonus exp gain but honestly, I'd much prefer having to eat less than leveling faster (note that the higher exp bonus also means you eat through your focus more!) but that's my opinion on it.

Writs, are a big trap, unless you plan on renovating as your primary goal, I would stay away from writs, the first 5 you buy are more than enough space if you don't plan on making a mega-complex plot, and when I say more than enough, I mean i barely use more than the default square. I'd say writs are more of an end-game thing.

If you get star quality fish you can put them in fish tanks on surfaces, but you can fit them on a shelf on the wall. Dead fish on the wall there are only 2 and they are from achievements for catching every type o f fish.

I guess it depends on what meal you particularly want to carry, I usually only bring cakes now since they're so convenient to carry and they give so much focus. So I'm incentivized to have a higher focus gauge as to not waste the extra focus.

So I think the logic between Potency VS Gauge is between faster progression VS less food ,

Having less gauge means you have to cook and bring more meals since you eat through them faster,

on the other hand having more gauge means you can rely on a stack of cakes for A LONG time since you eat through the gauge slower.

It's purely convenience.

(and yeah I also put my cakes in my worm farms, typically I reserve 1 stack of non-starred cakes for my food for awhile then sell starred cakes and glow worm farm the rest of the non starred ones)

to be fair, even though starred cakes are an increase via worm farms, some do find the gold increase not worth the time investment so they just feed the worm farms the normal quality for a bigger return. it's all personal preference, but that clarification might've been lost when you were talking to that person.

Go for fishing till you reach rank 5, and chop wood and mine for a bit of ranking also.
Fisherman's Brew once unlocked can be crafted at a Campfire. = Cash for grabs with Lotus & Moss.
Wood sells for 1 gold each and the stone also. As for copper save it for tools or you can smelt that and sell some for a good sum also. Do all this with a small potato farm going and you'll make money soon.

Not even using them for fish tbh, though you could minmax that for sure. I don’t have the time to spend fishing for that long but each worm sells for 25g. Assuming 13 worms from a single cake (which are usually minimum 387g~) you sell the worms for a total of 325g, then the fertilizer you gain makes up for the rest and becomes the profit.

IMHO trading would become a bad thing. It would also invite bots into the game. We’ve already started seeing people “selling gold” in server chats. If that was actually a thing you could do (trading gold or items straight out) or even an auction system it would become far worse. If anything, I think the request system is great but I’d add more incentives to it. Like a kudos that eventually unlock titles or furniture for fulfilling requests.

You want to have seeds due to them only harvestable three times and it depeletes and you must grow new trees.
So in the act of it you can store up seeds as you make a few jams and conserve them.
Now the basic apples you can do the same with for you have the option of using QualityUpFert so it improves the quality of fruit when harvesting.

This is a pace and you will net a bit once you keep going.

It’s really not. Capitalism by its definition is controlled by private owners. Generally, in the pursuit of this profit and expansion it ties into the exploitation of those below said private owners. That’s why MMOs with trading systems have bots or literal full companies in poorer countries being paid in cents to farm in these games and then sell gold/items/etc for irl money. It’s why all these other MMOs have massive problems with bots that are never fixed. Even multimillion dollar companies can’t or don’t care enough to squash this problem entirely (like WoW, BDO, etc)
Without a system where people can profit and hoard wealth for their own gain where it effects others, it cannot be a capitalist society. Because everyone’s wealth in Palia is measured on an individual basis and there is no means of influencing eachother’s wealth, there is no reason to hoard it. Money is constantly flowing out of the player’s pocket into the void due to purchases from NPCs, which also means there is 0 possibility for inflation aside from what the devs provide as money-sinks.

Edit: also the game has far more to it than just grind. The grind is a method to achieve other things. E.g. developing relationships with the characters, and making your house pretty.

well yeah, the nerf was extreme and seemed more in line for believing we had a similarly priced (to the 5 sapwood 1 flint) cheaper fireworks recipe. one of the s6 team thought we did have those recipes, but it seems they were removed at some point late alpha/early beta or in that transition. hopefully they add those soon for the reason of cheap flares for flow wood.

When I put stuff into them they all merge into the singular large number and all merge together. The way I prefer it is if I select a certain chest I only see what I put in that chest, I'm okay with it doing that when I open the build or sell menues, but when I'm looking for items I like to have a specific chest I can open and have it all neatly organized so I can find pretty stones or certain food items without scrolling through everything.

If they're just cluttering up the place for you, you can place your extra chests in another housing expansion (dropdown list in your H menu)... chests in all expansions are combined and you don't have to have them all on your "main" housing layout

it's cute, but it also feels very "paint by the numbers" like, phoenix labs told the team, "hey stardew was really big, and so is legend of zelda, what if you put a legend of zelda inspired map in a farming sim game with the dungeons unlocking spells that let you expand/move about the map further?" and that was what they did.

it has a handful of cosmetic wings you can swap between via a lot of hybrid flowers (did this post-beating the game but i also was slow on making hybrid flowers). there's also 4 seasons as 28 day months, stardew style with an event at the end of each of them at the city hall decorated differently for each with a seasonal outfit from each event. this was a bit of a disappointment to me in contrast to stardew because each of the stardew events felt special, at least the first time, with major differences between each event while these feel much more like 4 of the same reskinned events.

overall, i think i would personally suggest waiting for a sale or DLC just because $40 for a new coat of paint on stardew feels a bit steep for me.

Nah actually I’ve only been playing for like, a week and a half - but I’m also mega ADHD and kinda full-throw myself into games when I get hooked.

For me personally I definitely prefer a team of devs that will tackle bugs as a priority and then work on additional content. Because we should all know as gamers that more content means more bugs. Eventually if they push too far, they’ll be playing catch-up and it can go south real quick. its a difficult balancing act for sure, if they dont so bug fixes people will get frustrated and stop playing. if they dont add more content people will get frustrated and stop playing as there would be nothing left for them to log in for

Either way, 200 is still quite small. We don’t know exactly how they have their teams split up, but from my understanding of game development within that 200 there are groups of specialists. You got environmental artists, modelers, riggers, writers, programmers, etc. That heavily influences how many teams you can have.

Edit: not sure where they talked about having 200 but my guess would be they also likely are hiring for positions they lacked numbers in. Like potentially people focused on support tickets and such.

I literally romance everyone given the opportunity. I can definitely find things I both love and hate about characters & their personalities. So far I don’t dislike anyone, besides a few times where a character has been slightly annoying.
