That's unfortunate, it's usually down to the countries laws and restrictions. For example I believe India for examples cassifies sweepstakes as gambling, even though no money has changed hands.

I started playing Skate 3 again (because Im hungry for more skate). After some years without playing in the story mode, I really was impressed what a good job the game made to make you feel in the role of a pro.
Take two simple examples here: the screams about your tricks from people on the street every time you landed a great or a bad trick, and the street tournamnets. They had so many lines of dialogue just to make you feel great about a kickflip or a specific trick! man, that was amazing.
I would love to see some of those NPCs engagements too in the new skate. That would be awesome.

When we start recruiting for the next playtest, a survey is usually sent. If you get the survey, do it. If you get it and don’t fill it out, there’s a chance you won’t be invited to the playtest.
Once the roster is full (we’ve met our signup goals and metrics and data and all that), invites go out. Usually two emails. First to register. Not registering means you won’t get in. Second is when you’ve registered and have been accepted. It details how to get in the build and whatnot.

When we start sending the emails, we try to post here in Discord under #game-announcements to remind folks to check their email.

Throughout the entire process, no one can talk about the playtest - if they got the survey, invited, are playtesting, etc. as it’s all currently under NDA and still early development.

@abstract pewter you sorta do want to lean into the push, but... this is key, you don't want to OVERLEAN. The smalles rock, tiniest crack will become a mountain or a chasm and you'll eat it.

personally, my "push lean" is right behind the tip of the nose. never past it. actually, most of the time i don't even lean past my front trucks - keep in mind i longboard, not shortboard/street boards. but the concept is similar, and the potential for crashing due to debris in the path is a bit higher (depending on the hardness of your wheels, wheel size, etc.)

any time i've busted, it's because i overleaned or overcompensated. it takes time, practice, and a lot of falls, but keep this in mind - modern skateboarding was started off the back of surfing. so if you keep that smoothness of a wave in mind, enhance your zen and center yourself, embrace the fear of falling and be okay with it, learn to take a fall and roll out of it - you'll have a blast.

Find some concrete that is next to a fence like a tennis court so you can grab on to the fence and pull yourself along to get used to the feeling of moving while standing. Let go when you're comfortable, grab on when you feel unsteady

Like a bike, moving is more stable than standing still.

It's a good way to practice ollies. But take it step by step. Make sure you're comfortably on the board before even thinking about learning tricks

Honestly. I was just thinking about this the other day because I couldn't remember how I actually started skating because I was so young.

I finally remembered. I was around 6/7 and my dad had bought me a board and I brought it with me to a friend's house with a long sloped driveway. I started by riding down on my stomach, then my butt, then moved to my knees. Then I rode down in a drop knee stance and when I was finally comfortable I upgraded to standing. Realizing I had to run off the board at the end because I couldn't figure out how to drag my foot to stop lol.

I have no memories of trying to push for the first time though. I was obsessed with skating and before I got my first board I remember getting every book I could find on it at the library, the librarian even started ordering different skating books she would find and set them aside for me. I even made a cardboard skateboard and pretended to skate inside the house

I just remembered why my dad got me a board and it's because I was also obsessed with surfing and to my little brain, my mom's ironing board looked like a surfboard and I broke it pretending to surf

removed the gritty look and made it look green and colorfull

I had a hard time with my moving Ollie for a long time but working on timing by rolling off curbs and doing an Ollie off them, then finding a curb that was angled and doing an Ollie up that nailed it down for me

Remembering that Ollie's were first used to get air on vert and they knew when to hit it because of the coping made the timing I needed to get over things click in my head
