Yes, playtest emails have gone out. The way it works:
If you get the first email, you click the Register button to register.
If registered, you're now in the (fairly huge) pool of potential testers that could receive a second invite email.
If you get that email, ALL DETAILS WILL BE IN THE EMAIL.
If you didn't, you'll have more opportunities in the future.
What you can do:
Wait patiently and keep an eye on your inbox/spam/junk folders.
What you shouldn't do:
Open up ModMail tickets about Playtest invites.
DM Mods/Staff/CM about Playtest Invites.
Discuss Playtest invites in the server/publicly.

Just some friendly reminders:
Do not tag staff, mods, admins, or me re: moderation issues/violations in the server. Open a ticket via #support-desk (Server Support is for suggestions for the server, like new channels, events, contests, etc. Moderation Support is for reporting violations/moderation needs.)
If you see someone breaking a rule, don't engage with them. Report via #support-desk. (If you get into an argument with them and it goes back and forth and escalates, both parties may end up with an infraction.)
When appealing a Mute/Ban:
This shouldn't need to be said, but getting abusive in your appeal will absolutely ensure it's rejected (and may result in a longer mute/timeout or a ban from the server). Rudeness, accusations, deflection - not necessary. The #rules are pretty simple, they are based on the EA Positive Play Charter and the Discord Community Guidelines. Bonus: You agreed to follow them when you joined this server.
Make sure to drink your water today, get some fresh air, and, as always, keep rollin'.

Reminder about account security. We know that the internet is a wild and crazy place, and folks are out there who send links of stuff specifically designed for you to click and get compromised.
Always ensure you have 2FA on your accounts. Personally, I use Google Authenticator. Find a good one for you and add it to your Discord account, EA account, whatever you want to keep safe.
**Why? **
Well, if your Discord account gets compromised and is used to spam nonsense, scam links, NSFW Discord invites, scams, "free steam gift cards", "free nitro", or unauthorized links, etc. - you will be banned. Full stop.
Don't let it happen to you. Keep it safe.

if you're new, we have an #import-skaters channel to request or share imports.
go to that channel, scroll and see who has posted imports, and then ask if someone wants to trade/give an import. don't get impatient and spam the channel, and don't make import requests outside the #import-skaters channel.
(posts outside the #import-skaters will be deleted. repeatedly posting outside the correct channel will result in warnings, timeout/mutes, and in egregious cases, possible removal from the server.)

This is NOT a playtest support server. If you discuss anything other than "I signed up", you are technically in violation of the EA Pre-Release Feedback agreement that is required for skate. Insider playtesting. As such, you may receive a warning, a mute/time up to removal from the server (and possible expulsion from the Playtesting program until Early Access).
If you are invited to register AND invited to join (you have the build in your EA app or you received an Xbox or PS code), you have one place to post issues, bugs, and feedback - the private Playtest forums (that will be linked in your email welcoming you).
Do not DM staff - we cannot assist with Playtest access (and it's noted in the #rules). Do not post publicy about it or you will face moderation from the mod team (and we don't want that either).

TUESDAY, September 14, 2021 is the 14 year anniversary of the launch of the skate. franchise with the Xbox 360 release of Skate. (aka Skate 1).
While we won't have any news to share on Tuesday about the next game, we do have something to celebrate - 14 years of playing the franchise with this amazing community. (And something else for the community).

On September 14, 2007, Skate. launched on the Xbox 360 console, dropping us into San Vanelona and giving us the "Flick-it" control system.
Fourteen years later, we wouldn't be here without the passion of the community, and that's what it's really all about, right? Community.
So we're celebrating this anniversary with you in a few ways.
First, we're launching our content submission site "skate. Reel". Have a dope clip, video, screenshot, or fan art (focused on the franchise) you want to share with us? This is where you'll submit it. And who knows? If we really like it, we may share it on the page and our social channels.

We're also kicking off our 1st Content Contest - the "skate. Day Celebration skate. Reel Make a Montage Video Contest"! (That's a long title. I think I need to shorten it for the next one.) This community is the lifeblood of the skate. franchise - and we're so glad you're here.
We're opening a new suggestions room to help reduce the potential of suggestions getting lost among the conversations.
Here's how it's going to work:
**How is this different than the other room? **
Well, THREADS are available here.
How will that work?
When you have an idea (single sentence idea), you can post it as the "Thread Starter". If you want to go into detail or open a conversation about it, just reply into a thread and go from there. (Keep all threads open for 7 days before they close due to inactivity).
**What about duplicate threads? **
This will require a bit of teamwork - y'all and us, the staff. Use the Search feature. Scroll through the list of "Thread Starters". If you don't see that particular topic, start a new thread. If you do, don't start a new thread, join the existing one. (Duplicate threads may be pruned/removed, so lets work together.)
All community rules are in effect, so keep it chill and whatnot. rules
What if I need help?
If someone is hijiacking a thread with nonsense, being disruptive in the thread, just take a quick screenshot and DM <@&857703195560509511> with the screenshot (or tag <@&823677264931323940>) in the thread. We'll remove the tag once we've addressed the issue. Don't start a fight in the thread.
The new room #skate-ideas-threads-archived will go live at 12PM PDT on Monday, September 20, 2021.
Things to note:
The original room will be locked but not deleted.
Try not to make duplicate threads. We will merge/lock/archive if duplicates appear.

We all know there's some rapscallions out there who are looking to scam, spam, and basically be jerks on the internet by impersonating others, promoting fake contests, etc.
BE SAFE
SOMEONE IS POSTING SCAM/SPAM LINKS. HELP!
Sometimes, folks don't take account security as serious as they should and their account gets compromised. That account is then used by the scammers/spammers to flood the Discord servers the account is a member of with fake links, phishing links, and other nonsense. 99% of the time, the bots will nuke those links from orbit within seconds. There may be an occasion where a link slips by. Do NOT click it. Take a screenie and shoot a message to <@&857703195560509511> or tag <@&823677264931323940>. (Only send one message or tag once. Don't spam.) Our awesome Mod team will take action to remove any posts from the account and permanently ban it quickly.
If this happened to YOUR account, first - lock it down. Get your account secure. Add Two-Factor Authentication. Once you've done that, hit up the mods via Reddit ModMail: https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=/r/SkateEA
We'll go from there.

Just to confirm, officially: Yes, Skate 2 has been added to the Xbox Backwards Compatible list.
If you have your Skate 2 Xbox 360 disc or a digital version, you'll be able to jump back into San Vanelona later today.
(Disc users: You will be required to download a file on your One/Series S/X AND keep the disc in the drive while playing.)

What a crazy week. Firstly, we wanted to thank you all for the incredible reaction to ‘Still Working On It.’ We’d be lying if we said it wasn’t a little nerve wracking sharing the first new skate. gameplay trailer in 12 years but your positivity, comments, shares and overall reactions have been amazing to see. The team continues to pore over all of your feedback and are so energized by your messages. We’ve also been blown away by the amount of you that have signed-up for playtesting and we can’t wait to get you into the game!
We’re aware of an earlier version of the game that has been distributed without our authorization. This build is from September 2021 and was never intended for external use. While we understand you’re excited to get into the game, we encourage you to be careful when downloading files from unknown sources (and remind you of the potential consequences of breaking EA’s Terms of Service). The best way to get the chance to play is by signing up for skate. insider playtesting here as we continue to invite more and more players into the game throughout the year.
