what are landmarks for?

a lot of information here I will condense:

1. set up multiple accounts in metamask. one burner that you can connect to sushiswap for example, you can buy ILV then transfer to an account called 'Illuvium', then connect that account to the illiuvium website to stake and vote etc. you can have other accounts for other projects.
2. have a really good password you have never used for anything before, I use a password manager like 'lastpass'. store your seed phrase offline, on paper in multiple locations. you could also create an encrypted usb stick while not connected to the internet. OR the best option is using a Ledger. you will need to store the seed phrase for your ledger too. you can create your own seed phrase sometimes, you can use your own code like pick a book you have read in the past, pick the 10th word from the 10th page, 11th from the 11th page or something similar and just write down something that will help you remember that code.
3. always use 2fa and an app called 'authy'. I have a separate email account just for exchanges. I have whitelists setup on the exchanges and to withdraw anything I have to put in my authy code an sms code and an email code all within 1 minute.
4. it is really hard to know sometimes when connecting your metamask is a good idea, say for NFT mints, connecting to a discord etc. always triple check and make sure and always use your burner account.
   5.if you are new to the space, be very cautious, remember you can always ask here if you are uncertain about anything BEFORE you do it.
5. if you have any tokens you aren't staking and are holding long term, store them on your ledger not in metamask. using your ledger to sign in to metamask is different to storing on your ledger.

I think you are talking about me 😁 You were very welcome indeed and I have done a lot of DYOR and finished quite a lot of the vids you suggested. My main issue remains that everything you guys are hoping and dreaming for hinges on ILV becoming an insane success. Millions of players, billions in revenue and this needs to be sustained over a long period of time. I am just not convinced (yet). And then the big sword hanging over your head is indeed big studios and huge IP going w3 and we know they are already on it and so much of the blockchain elements needed to go this route are open source and readily available. So I dont agree as someone suggested that ILV has 5 years. Sandbox, decentraland, meta, etc. Its going to be a race and I dont see a fresh new team with new IP winning that race. Lastly someone mentioned that this is different as this game will be owned and governed by the players/investors. Gamers dont care about that, even the ones that are versed in crypto which is tiny sliver of the pop. Anyway, I understand you guys need to stay positive and pump this thing as hard as you can. I dont blame you. Personally I will keep tracking the project and do hope that either this project or another one really does deliver the w3 game dream! I might invest in round 2 or 3 of land once i can see more actual gameplay and more variables are known so a business case can be made. Good luck to all of you!

I finished the video. Andrew is very impressive man and a great hire. Marketing will be insanely important moving forward so they got the right guy with the right background/credibility for that for sure. Big confidence booster. The video was mostly about the market opportunity and I dont think anyone disagrees with the existence of that opportunity. I think he is being a bit too optimistic about how slow the big traditional players will be in this space and the analogy with mobile gaming is not completely fair but other than that I dont disagree with much that was said. So the big question will be if they can deliver on the product. Do we know how many people are working full-time and exclusively for ILV? The key contributor list only has a few people that publicly have a full-time role at ILV. Many others seem freelancers, have simultaneous jobs elsewhere and many can still be contracted by the public. Are there resources that we can use to delve deeper and understand the capabilities of the team? Big studios have 100s of people to deliver a 3A title for instance. The documentary on making God of War is amazing in case you are curious about the process and the scope of work of launching a 3A title.

There is nothing wrong with freelancers persee but I dont see how you can realistically pull of a 3A title without at least having a signifant number of full-time, exclusive staff members. If this game has that and everything is transparent, owned by ther gamers, etc then they should be willing to provide that list. A big problem with freelancers is their availability. If these guys are are still open to the market, and from googling 10 names it seems many are, then their availability and number of hours to throw into ILV comes into question. This is basic due diligence. Sure you want to see and hear from senior management but you also just want to know how many full time employees there are

The video almost got me but then looking at the contributor list and googling many of the names I am getting very concerned that this is a team of 20 people with freelance contributors. I am going off the LinkedIn page for Illuvium and the list of key contributors on the website. Not having clarity of how many people are working on this full-time and exclusively is weird. They should be able to give that list. And I already shared concerns about freelancers: they are not always available and will go to whatever project pays most or is best for their resume. They are an amazing resource for creative work but you cannot be 80% freelancers and deliver a complete product like a 3A crypto game

They are claimed through staking the ILV tokens. And each sILV2 token claimed will burn one ILV token. But they will have the same buying power as the market value of ILV during the landsale. (ILV can't be used to buy any land) So right now we have 250K of those tokens, and 250K less maximum ILV 🙂

There always be a free to play version indeed. It won't get you all the illuvials but it will allow you to play the initial version. Kind of an all-round demo version where you can get used to the game without missing out on anything except for additional content.

if you can have fun in PVE as f2p, personally I think it is good already. PVP will be p2w. (To a certain extent)
