If you have 1 ILV locked at 2.0 weight you will always receive the same revdis as any other 1 ILV thats locked at 2.0 weight

I'm confused how the vault making random buys would lead to people "never getting paid".

The point of the vault making buys at random times is so that someone can't consistently buy ILV at one price every day, wait for the revdis buy/buys, and sell it afterwards (thinking like automated trading timeframes).

Someone could still buy ahead of time, and sell immediately afterwards, but it prevents attacks where someone can pump ILV's price BEFORE a buy and thus deprive the DAO of a fair bit of value, especially if liquidity is ever substantially lower than it is right now.

This is a good point. It reminds me of all the crypto projects which raised a tonne of ETH in 2017 but then couldn’t afford their overheads because they didn’t switch the ETH into cash and the value crashed.

That said you would expect a fairly high degree of correlation between ETH and ILV. So if ETH falls it’s likely ILV would fall and you’d still be able to buy a similar number of tokens.

But ETH is still a 70 vol asset. Definitely a case for having some stablecoins as well if you’re going to hold reserves for long periods. In practice though this may over complicate things.

The slight issue with this is many people will immediately be forced to sell some of the rev dis ILV to cover tax liabilities. This may create unnecessary volatility with constant buying and selling.

This is why I suggested some of the rev dis should be used for token burn. All thing being equal this would lead to a higher token price which would result in a potential capital gains rather than income tax liability.

A few advantages of this for most people CGT tax is likely to be equal or lower than income tax. Secondly you don’t trigger the CGT tax liability until you sell. So you have more control and less token sell pressure.

DAO buys ILV then people sell that same ILV back…

And overall not 100% of people will sell all their revdis (some may sell bits for tax, not the end of the world) so overall its positive buy pressure

Taxes are an end user problem . That has nothing to do with the DAO the same as "but x law says in my country"
This is a DAO its not governed or regulated by any one specific geographical location

What people do with the token after the receive it should also not be a concern - if the all want to sell let them let the token price sort itself out

Trying to get clarity on Silv2 . So can someone tell me if it will be the reward token for in game accomplishments as well as being used as payment to travel to areas and other things to play the game. ? I just think if a crypto game has an in game token, there HAS to be a built in burn mechanic in order to keep playing the game. I feel like Silv2 fits this perfectly and helps me feel a lot more bullish . I have a concern about land… wondering what everyone here thinks… the land produces 5% of the revenue in the ecosystem right? And each land holder gets a little less than 1/100,000th of that from what I understand…. True we don’t know what that will come to in earnings, but the team originally had prices far below what the starting price is today. Originally I think tier 1 was at 0.5 ETH? My concern is… when they set those original prices, do you think they were based off of expected earnings from using the land? I’m fine paying 2ETH of sILV2 for land, but if it’s only going to produce an amount that makes sense for buying it at 0.5 ETH… I’m hesitant. Am I already overpaying by 3X even if I get land at 75% of starting price compared to what it will produce

Not really fees on fees, by having an ETH in game reward option that you don't have to go swap ILV for ETH for, take a convenience fee out and I bet people still do it. A new person that trusts ETH over ILV especially.

Whales get where they are by looking for cheapest possible options. They will def. be looking for cheapest options to cash out, always.

2. They were registered for the PB1 on play.Illuvium.io before the snapshot

IF both of these are true and they aren’t on the list, then they can DM (Rich) because 1 of 2 things happened, 1. They registered for pb1 with a different discord username than they are using now (even if it’s like a space or forgot the #)
2. They may have registered twice under different emails in which duplicates may have been removed

So I asked for advice here if there was a way of cashing out my pending rewards rather than locking them for a year and someone advised to claim Silv2 and then swap on Uniswap. I've just gone there to do that and they are worth roughly half of what ILV is worth? Is this the case that Silv2 is worth less than ILV - I thought they were the same? and am I now stuck with Silv2?

Staked rewards claimed in ILV is stacked for a year (RevDis is different) SIlv2 is able to re used right away without being staked for a year. Is worth less because there nothing to buy with SILV2 at this time and people are looking for a quick buck.

Yes it trades at a different price. But is pegged to ILV when used to buy stuff in game. You can’t get a simple swap 1:1 silv2:ILV

Enough to be worth the gas fees of staking. Maybe At least $500. But that is your call. And only stake for a transaction at like 30gwei or less.

Here’s how claiming works.

Rewards from staking have to be manually claimed and GAS fees for those transactions have to be paid:

• When you stake ILV yield farming rewards start piling up for you
• You claim those rewards whenever you deem the pile to be big enough to justify gas fees
• If you claim sILV2 you have it unlocked right away (sILV2 is only usable in game as a substitute currency for ETH outside the marketplace and the Leviathan Arena)
• If you claim ILV then that batch of ILV gets locked for 12 months and automatically staked in the ILV pool with a token weight of 2.0 for compounding effect
• New rewards start piling up....rinse and repeat

NB: ILV paid out as part of Illuvium’s Revenue Distribution have to be claimed as well but are not subject to a locking period.
