I saw something get rooted once that looked like it was meant to work that way. A couple melee characters were rushing the last opposing illuvial and got rooted.
Another time I saw a rhamphite get rooted after it landed it’s omega. It didn’t make any sense because the archelon had gotten of it’s root but had then been take down by the omega. Odd for sure. Maybe a bug. But I wasn’t sure enough of what happened to make a report. 🤷

In regards to playing the game, that would be the main step! The team will be letting more participants in as time goes on so if you have your application submitted, you have a chance to be selected.

There are no minting or pre-sale events so once the open beta is launched, everyone will be starting on an even playing field with NOTHING. Battling and capturing the Illuvials in game is how you mint the NFTs to your wallet.

And if you're interested in city building games, we have a land sale coming up on June 2nd... and land is used for the builder game, Illuvium: Zero. More info on that in the pinned messages of #🎮〕illuvium-zero 😄

Governance:
Together, we have the power to shape the future of Illuvium through our community collaboration on game improvement proposals and electing the initial model of governance, the Illuvinati Council.

Liquidity Mining:
Here, you will gain more ILV (or sILV). Additional ILV will increase your voting power in governance & increase your share of vault distributions.

Vault Distributions:
When you stake ILV, you share in Illuvium's success and earn a passive income of additional ILV, funded through in-game purchases and fees. Vault distributions will only be available from sales once the game and Illuvidex launch.

For the private beta that is currently going on, no wallet required.
But once the game launches with the open beta, you'll need a wallet to store all of the NFTs you're going to be collecting 😄

Metamask is preferred among the masses, it seems... but with the game running on IMX, I suspect you can use any wallet that is compatible with IMX ⤵️

Illuvium uses Immutable X as a layer 2 solution. This means that you won’t be charged network gas fees for minting and trading and instead only need to transfer funds between the Ethereum Mainnet and Immutable X. Illuvium will be running on IMX.
IMX requires you to link an Ethereum wallet to it in order to hold or trade NFTs on there.

So when selecting a wallet, be sure to choose one that IMX supports.

Providing liquidity is done via an ILV/ETH Pool on SushiSwap and requires multiple steps:

1. Buy ILV and ETH
2. After approving the Sushi contract you stake a 50/50 value ratio of ETH and ILV

You can technically play for free.

And you can probably make a full deck of paid characters for quite cheap if you're only looking into stage 1s

And i'm pretty sure you'll be able to spend 2ETH if you want

For investing, I'd say probably something like $1k-2k minimum if you want to buy and stake, depending on your outlook.

To play, you can start for free, pricing hasn't been set for in-game actions, but it will be substantially less than you'd want as a investor/staker.

You can also just accumulate ILV without staking with basically any amount of investment, especially if you're content to buy and hold it on a CEX.

They can either sell and other new buyers come into Illuvium as we keep growing and their share gets diluted or they keep it staked because they would be getting a fat stack of revdis and continue to provide liquidity which is still good for everyone. Long term when you have a 10 million supply and sILV2 burning starts taking place, scarcity will become an important factor.
