How I’ve seen the celo SCAM happen is someone DMs about getting things working. Usually an impersonator of some kind. Then they send a link to an extension to install and say to seed your new celo wallet with your secret phrase. And it’s all just a way for the scammer to get your secret phrase.

The game is supposed to be deterministic. So the ‘chance to crit’ isn’t really a concept here. What it would mean is that every fourth attack would be a crit. And if the ‘crit chance’ increased then every third attack would be a crit. It can’t actually give a 25% or 33% crit chance on every attack.

As was mentioned, the fact that no one can claim and then “compound” means no one gets less and no one gets more. The amount of ILV distributed to the pools stays the same regardless of how much is locked in the pools.

Technically it might have been possible to be better at compounding than other users might have been able to be. But since none of that is happening it’s not like you are missing out on anything.

I mean within the first generation. Within the 8 regions. We will start the game with only 2-3 playable regions. But as gameplay progresses the next regions will be unlocked. I’d think that then more illuvials would become available. The next generations of illuvials would essentially fill in the same ecological niches that the first 150 would have filled. Once the bonding curve is closed and the new generations start to launch they will be catchable in those same original regions.

wana hear a story? i loved the look of the game, and loved the fighting style (reminded me of old shining force and final fantasy tactics) so i put about $3600 into ilv (one of my largest holdings) early when it was around $80, then after the crash in may, i had to make some tough decisions and was like "they dont even have the game done yet, a lot can happen between now and then, i need be careful and maybe move money to less risky cryptos" so i sold it at about $45 along with a slew of other altcoins and consolidated into some bigger marketcap stuff.... but i've been keeping an eye on this, and it's like "FUUUUUUUUU*******" cuz it was legit one of my biggest holdings, plus the fact that i love what they're doing would've made it all that much sweeter

If I were you, I’d recommend watching some comparison videos of the different models on YouTube

You can migrate at any time. 2 weeks is how long between when the contract is deployed and when rewards start again. Gives everyone a chance to get moved over so they dont miss out on any rewards.

Although Aaron mentioned the 2 week window might be shortened. I think 1 week would be plenty and it would help us bring the land sale date forward a bit.

The 2 week window is to upgrade. V1 stakes can be upgraded, which basically means you're giving the V2 contracts permission to read your V1 locked stakes.

Migration is different, it can only be performed on unlocked tokens, and it's literally moving them from V1 to V2. Upgraded tokens remain locked in the V1 contracts, and are read by V2. Migrated tokens are staked in the V2 contracts.

Upgraded tokens do not have some of the V2 functionality. Migrated tokens, being staked in V2 contracts, have the full V2 functionality.

Migration and upgrading won't close after the 2 weeks, there's just a 2 week grace period in which you can Upgrade or Migrate before rewards resume emissions.

We'll have to wait and see how much gas the new contracts are using. You'd definitely want to upgrade your locked stake, and it's likely you'd withdraw and restake your unlocked stake. I'm not 100% sure if Migration will include an option to extend your lock period or not.

I wouldn't touch the unlocked stake until the Upgrade period ends, unless the team explicitly says you get to keep your "pause rewards" if you unstake/migrate during the upgrade period.

personally, I agree with the sentiment that for this current epoch with everything so close to launch, the biggest thing is to stay out of the way of the team and to understand what is the top priority which is to get the game out.
I think from the discussions we had it could be a minor thing to discuss some possible changes to the roll out of future elections. The reason for this is once the game is out, we do want to create a smoother governance process and a democracy is only truly valuable the more people participate. So the idea behind that is if we're able to streamline elections and create more content for the community (interviews / debates / tutorials) which could bring more attention somewhat close to the launch of the game. We can create that foundation that governance is important to the ILV ecosystem.

But again, this would be minor discussions and nothing seriously pushed as the main priority is to get staking back online, the game out and start getting feedback from the community with a product out there! Minor discussions but imo important discussions to be had.

Hard to argue with that 😛 I was surprised that not many of the candidates mentioned that the team is developing web based governance tools that may solve most of the governance related concerns. I do think there is a place for a CM or a community member like yourself to interview candidates though, and preferably further before the election. That would be a big advantage of longer epochs IMO, just giving the community time to get informed on who each candidate is and what they bring to the table. Every 3 months is fine for people who are super involved and have time to do the homework, but it's a bit much for an average ILV holder.

I'd love to see a revised Staking V2 proposal, iterate on it, and have it go to a vote. Obviously making any kind of major changes to it isn't viable in the short term, but process does matter.

At any rate, big props for doing those interviews, person to person interaction makes it much easier to gauge candidates compared to a relatively generic block of text!

Governance:

Liquidity Mining:
Here, you will gain more ILV (or sILV). Additional ILV will increase your voting power in governance & increase your share of vault distributions.

Vault Distributions:
When you stake ILV, you share in Illuvium's success and earn a passive income of additional ILV, funded through in-game purchases and fees. Vault distributions will only be available from sales once the game and Illuvidex launch.

Illuvium: Zero is a mobile mini-game that will interact with the main game. Illuvium: Zero will be a base building game staged on a piece of land. Paid land will produce Fuel ERC20 tokens and Blueprints, interacting with the main game. There will be 100k plots of paid land in total, and the first land sale will offer 20k of these plots for sale in a dutch auction format.
