I know going from one location to another will cost money but the question is why. Feels like it becomes a pay to win scenario. Where you can only advance if you pay. It kind of destroys to purpose of “full fledge game” at tier 0 because let’s face it. 99% of the population like most MMOs focus on end game. While I completely agree that you may need to farm resources and fuel to travel to different regions why charge players too? The price players should be paying is their time invested. There are better ways to monetize a game than charge for “full experience” if players can’t take their rust pick axes “or whatever they start with” and put in the time to fully harvest and build/create the needed components to travel it would be a let down on an astronomical level. The company should charge enough money in commissions for the sales of NFT, house cut for wagers, and what not to need players to be forced to pay to experience parts of the game.

Not ALL illuvials will have seasons, but there will definitely be some that you won't be able to find in a couple years at all. Take Rhamphye for instance. Now whether they'll do versions for different seasons I'm not sure

Everyone will start out even but over time spending will help you get ahead. You can buy Illuvials from other players to make your team stronger, and you will need to be able to pay the travel cost in order to to catch the T1-T5 Illuvials.

Nothing is presold though, it all has to be earned through playing the game or purchased from somebody else who did.

You need to pay to access T1-T5. Only the T0 are available f2p.

You could theoretically earn money selling leveled T0 Illuvials and use that to pay for your first travel.

Then you just have to earn more from each run than it costs and you can work your way up.

Ben has said that the target cost to caputre a pretty good team would be around $200, so its not crazy expensive if you just want to pay a bit and not worry about earning ingame.

You go to the region and have a certain amount of energy to use. It costs energy to do mining, gather resources, or attempt to capture illuvials. So depending on how you choose to use that energy will dictate what stuff you end up with.

Regarding Illuvitars-- here's some more info Kieran provided in the recent interview with Scoriox:

They are in-game profile pics. Players **cannot **upload their own image.

If you don't mint/buy an Illuvitar, then you will have no profile pic in game.

He mentions each player will get to mint ONE Illuvitar for free.

The mint is for the base image of the Illuvial. Then you can add different accessories to them. Accessories can be bought or even acquired in the Overworld or PvP tournaments, etc.

When an accessory is applied to your Illuvitar, it is bonded to that Illuvitar forever.

If you don't like the combination of accessories on your Illuvitar anymore or you just want different accessories, you can't change them-- you'll need to create a new one or buy on marketplace.

You begin our game with a free-to-play experience that immerses you in our richly-detailed world, lets you enjoy some action, and helps you understand how the game works. The free-to-play experience of the Tier 0 regions will familiarize you with Illuvium, and won’t feel like an “abridged” version of the game. It is a full-fledged gameplay experience! If you like it, you can then decide to opt in to the paid experience, start collecting NFTs from higher tiered regions, and delve into deeper adventures to explore the mysteries of the game where the NFTs you gather start to hold more value as well.

Just after game launch, when everyone starts fresh, you might even be able to sell free Tier 0 NFTs on the IlluviDEX for ETH, but there is no guarantee for that.

In Illuvium there will be several options to P2E:

• sell captured Illuvials
• sell farmed materials
• sell crafted items
• wager on battles in the Leviathan Arena
• earn some of the 1 Million ILV set aside for in-game rewards
• …

BUT, while the game will be free to play, in order to participate in the earning part of the economy, a bit of money needs to be invested. A full cycle of travelling, curing shards, etc. is currently estimated to be around $50 (this can still change).
