The important part is to keep your seed phrase from being stored in something that is connected to the internet all day long.
In a hot wallet, your private key is actually stored in the memory of the computer/phone.
In a cold one, your private key is stored away from the computer.

Releasing more land would have to go to a vote by the council, which is elected by ILV token holders. So it's possible but not probable.

My understanding is that although this is possible, it’s probably extremely unlikely because the ppl approving such change are themselves likely to own land as well

I think much more likely than releasing more land, would be a land split, if that ever becomes necessary due to future games or other factors. That would be much more equitable to the people who invested in land. Regardless, this is a DAO, and things like that must pass a vote after community feedback.

Literally whatever the proposal was for. Nothing like this is proposed, so the question doesn't make sense. If a land split is ever needed, we could discuss the implications of each type of split at that point - Nothing like this is planned or proposed at the present time, and would be impractical to propose before all 100k plots are sold.
