QUESTION ABOUT STAKING
Why does every tutorial show that i need to first buy ETH from binance, transfer to metamask and then convert using sushi?
Can I not just buy ILV and then transfer this to my metamask wallet and stake it ?
Am I missing something stupid ?
It seems like by buying ilv straight away you dodge an extra gas fee right?

AR has limited effective functionality imo without spending atrocious amounts of time on it. Would be workable for real world instanced battles but otw keeping immersion and say exploring the world you couldn't do it very well beyond what Pokemon GO has. VR is definitely something that needs to be a serious consideration and borderline priority after game launch and mobile release. That sector is going to explode before we know it.

The same idea applies - Procure ILV (and ETH if you want to stake the SLP, + enough for gas), take it to Illuvium's staking page, stake. If you're staking the SLP, you provide liquidity first, then you stake the SLP tokens you recieve.

Think of the ETH network like a country. You can buy a hamburger, which costs fiat currency. You can get on a bus, which costs fiat currency.

On the ETH network, the native currency is ETH, so all fees related to activities you're performing are paid in ETH.

Buying ILV on a CEX is usually cheaper than swapping it on Sushi, unless you buy 10ks worth of ILV in one go. Gas fees usually are higher than the % you get charged over trading on a CEX.
The gas fees over the transaction to send Eth + ILV to your metamask are quite negligable (in my experience) as they are just a single transaction and no smart-contract is required.

It depends on the CEX, but yes, for small-ish buys, buying everything on a CEX and transferring it out is usually cheaper.

Based on the amount you have staked, you will earn rewards which remain "pending" until you decide to claim them (this costs a gas fee).

If you claim as ILV, then yeah, it is automatically vested and locked in the ILV core pool for 12 months and earning the APY of that pool during that time, compounding your rewards 🙂

If you claim your rewards as sILV, that is sent directly to your wallet and it is a token meant for in-game use (or purchasing land/illuvitars in the upcoming sales)... so it cannot be staked.

Well you can try capturing a T5 with a T1 shard there's an off chance you can but not likely. So higher tier shards isn't required but it increases your chances

Oh, an actual question sweet. So, there is ranked, and unranked matches. In ranked, all stats and such are normalized and you can use the stage 3 version of an illuvial as long as you have the stage 1. In the Leviathan arena (where ETH can be wagered) it's not. So if you happen to catch or find a perfect illuvial then of course you have an advantage. However, you'd still have to know enough about the game and be good enough that the illuvials strength will matter.

However, depending on your definition, it is or isn't pay to win. You don't pay a company for an advantage in the game over other players. You pay other players for stuff they got, to better achieve your goals.

It's not really that complicated. If you use the calculator I added to calculate the IL, you can simulate all possible outcomes.
You will see that there are hardly any situations where you lose money when you stake in the SLP because the rewards are so high.

Playing multiple of the dual gives a new thing that enhances BOTH the base things.

The reason for this is as follows:

Play 1 dual - you get the stacks and you get treated a lot like the base.

Play 2 or more dual - get new bonuses

Play heavy in one base - Dual acts more like that base.

Play heavy in both - dual is a god (but you spent all your points and your opponent can counter you)

The counter system is the hyper. If your opponent plays nature and you play fire your hyper will grow and empower your abilities (basic attack and omega are both abilities).

If you hit something you counter we check the delta of your hyper and either increase the bonus damage or decrease it (or reduce or increase the ineffectiveness)
