T0 yes but they will have no or very little value by launch as everyone will have access to it for free. You can earn like this:

• sell captured Illuvials
• sell farmed materials
• sell crafted items
• play the marketplace (buy low, sell high)
• wager on battles in the Leviathan Arena
• earn some of the 1 Million ILV set aside for in-game rewards

BUT, while the game will be free to play, in order to participate in the earning part of the economy, a bit of money needs to be invested. A full cycle of travelling, curing shards, etc. is currently estimated to be around $50 (this can still change).

So they won't ever run out really. There isn't a finite number of a specific Illuvial, they are just attached to a bonding curve. So, if none a specific illuvial is caught, you will have a pretty good chance of catching it. After a million for example have been caught though, your chances will decline significantly to say .000001% chance (not accurate just an example)

Where fuel comes into play is to cure the shards. The shards by themselves are useless and can't catch anything until they are cured, which you need fuel to do

Newb here, this may be better asked in another channel. I want to invest so badly in ILV, but I dont a ton I can put in at the moment, and with the gas fees being so high investing smaller amounts seems not worth it if hundreds of it is going to fees. Anyone have suggestions?

When I have put smaller amounts into ILV when gas is high I use an exchange like crypto.com. Sundays gas is usually low so I do my bulk buys on sushiswap then.

ok this may sound like noob question because it is does gas work on supply and demand ? Like if have the only case of of x and people are willing to pay 10x the price of x so someone pays 12 x times the price then someone else pays 14 X the price . Is gas the same way people are out bidding the top price so it never goes down ? I looked at the chart to see if there is a off peak period to jump on and there isn't its just a constant 24 hours of high gas

Gas going up is basically the cost of eth not being to scale well. More people using eth protocol means that the network is being clogged resulting in higher gas fees just to get a transaction out. Eth 2.0 was supposed to address this but its been delayed for so long now

My thoughts here is (1) Sunday is best time for staking since its the lowest gas based on history; (2) is the X days you wait for gas going to be an unrealized yield more than the gas you would have paid if you staked now? If no. 2 is yes then I would stake now since youre losing more in unrealized yield rewards. Also, lets bring this back to #🥩〕staking I can delve deeper there
