If the market is going bearish, yeah i agree there is a good chance in 2022 ILV will still be affected. However, the extent it gets affected might be lower than you might expect. From a trader's point of view, the token price will be dropping due to fear in the market but if you are locked in and getting revdis that are not changing despite whatever ILV price is..the question is how much of an issue will it really be ?

Edit : Hang on you get paid in ILV i believe, so it might affect your passive income. Even then though i would be very surprised to see ILV tank more than 60% from ATH. Axie mooned through some very hard hit conditions so if ILV is established by then, i can see a decoupling.

There is different regions with different Illuvials in them. The encounter rates might differ from regions to regions concerning what tier of Illuvial you could encounter and what affinities but the travel fee would be the same for that region. For example you won't find a Rhamphy in the Sea.

To my knowledge, no Illuvials at all will be sold prior to release and the most recent thing I've seen mentioned were ingame avatars but it was never said directly that these would be part of the mystery auction. So unless @inner topaz is willing to give more details about the content/timeline for the mystery auction, then waiting is the only thing to do right now.

Everything sold to others will be in ETH. Details to acquire ILV ingame still have to be disclosed.

There are no plans to my knowledge for any sILV-ETH conversion. I also don't see any reason for it. There have been conversations though to consider a proposal that will allow ingame yield to be acquired as EITHER ILV or sILV in case someone wants to get sILV for immediate ingame usage instead of ILV 🙂

1. deposit ETH = buy/sell items = you get ETH back
2. earn sILV in-game/staking = in-game usage = burnt sILV
3. optionally earn ILV in-game/staking = option to stake = you get ILV back

As said before, you don't earn sILV ingame unless something is changed. Right now ingame yield is supposed to be paid out in ILV. And yes, transactions on the IlluviDEX are via Immutable X.

Yes and sILV is also not exclusively needed for anything really. ETH is the main currency. sILV is only an option that is offered to liquidate yield farm rewards from staking in a way that does not come with a 12 month locking period. sILV does not serve any special purpose ingame. On the contrary, it has even less utility than ETH as payment option since it cannot be used for IlluviDEX trades or Leviathan Arena wagering 🙂

Governance:

Liquidity Mining:
Here, you will gain more ILV (or sILV). Additional ILV will increase your voting power in governance & increase your share of vault distributions.

Vault Distributions:
When you stake ILV, you share in Illuvium's success and earn a passive income of additional ILV, funded through in-game purchases and fees. Vault distributions will only be available from sales and once the game and Illuvidex are launched.

I have a pretty important question which I am not sure could be answered yet. Will there be a way to play without letting the player get all of your assets?

Kind of like scholarships for Axie. Basically like I could pay someone a daily fee+ a portion of all rewards for that day, but they won't be able to sell everything themselves?

I think this would be a great feature.
