Not maybe but for sure 🙂 You will get completely obliterated if you head into T5 or something like that from the get go. Even for T1 you will need some levelled T0 stuff to even be able to defeat a T1 and get a chance to try and capture it.

As Ben said, yes. But you should of course always keep costs in mind. Yes a T5 shard could maybe (almost) guarantee a capture of a T1 Illuvial for example, but will that be worth it? Lot's of strategic/economical decisions will have to be made to optimize the outcome of every run 🙂

That energy can be used for a variety of actions including scanning, gathering, battle etc. In theory you can even capture more than one Illuvial per travel but using your energy wisely and thus optimizing your spoils per travel will make a huge difference between good and less good players.

That is your understanding maybe, but it's wrong, so it might not be the right approach to throw "too expensive" around, if you haven't even understood the full picture yet 🙂 Not only could you capture more than one Illuvial in a single encounter but you can even have multiple encounters per travel. But no one forces you to even enter one encounter. You could also use all your energy on farming resources/shards which is why it says "in theory more than one Illuvial per Travel".

It's also important to remember that we are a DAO. What the team develops in Illuvium isn't just what THEY want... they are developing this game (and future games) based on what the DAO wants. They ask for our input all of the time 😄 And if at any point it becomes apparent that changes need to be made for the good of the game/community, the DAO can certainly discuss it and anyone can submit a proposal for those adjustments to be made.

There are 7 regions in total (not all at launch). You can enter them free in Tier 0 and only get Tier 0 stuff. Or you can pay to travel to Tier 1+ and get Tier 1+ stuff.

When you travel to a region you have a certain amount of energy. That energy can be used for a variety of actions including scanning, gathering, battle etc. In theory you can even capture more than one Illuvial per travel but using your energy wisely and thus optimizing your spoils per travel will make a huge difference between good and less good players.

You pay every time you travel to a Tier1+ region and reset your energy. The higher the Tier you choose, the higher the costs.

ILV is not needed for gameplay in any way. Instead it has three main functions:

Governance:
Together, we have the power to shape the future of Illuvium through our community collaboration on game improvement proposals as well as electing the initial model of governance, the Illuvinati Council.

Liquidity Mining:
Here, you will gain more ILV (or sILV). Additional ILV will increase your voting power in governance & increase your share of vault distributions.

Vault Distributions:
When you stake ILV, you share in Illuvium's success and earn a passive income of additional ILV, funded through in-game purchases and fees. Vault distributions will only be available from sales and once the game and Illuvidex are launched.

So the animals u collect in illuvium do they breed can you farm kill them or something to make any profit?

In Illuvium there will be several options to P2E:

• sell captured Illuvials
• sell farmed materials
• sell crafted items
• play the marketplace (buy low, sell high)
• wager on battles in the Leviathan Arena
• earn some of the 1 Million ILV set aside for in-game rewards
• …

BUT, while the game will be free to play, in order to participate in the earning part of the economy, a bit of money needs to be invested. A full cycle of travelling, curing shards, etc. is currently estimated to be around $50 (this can still change).

Illuvium is a collectible NFT RPG game and auto-battler rolled into one. There is an open-world RPG experience in the overworld, where you mine, harvest, capture, and fight Illuvials.

Once you have assembled your team you can join the fray in the autobattler where you strategically build your teams to beat your opponents in battle. The Illuvials possess unique stats, classes, and affinities. The synergy of your team—based on how you match their strengths and compensate for weaknesses—could mean a winning streak for you.

There is a lot of complexity in autobattler games like TFT. Is that expected for illuvium gameplay as well, or something a bit simpler? I've been trying to figure out how it'll work with a collections based system. Hopefully gameplay video soon 😁
