ngl, im also a believer in the game, it looks like it has a huge potential when it is released but, its a game linked to crypto meaning anything in the crypto space affects the price of the coin, so its hard to predict if your investment will be worth it

Claiming rewards when only staking 1 ILV might not be worth it too soon and any rewards claimed as ILV are locked for 12 months from the time of claiming and then automatically staked in the ILV pool with a token weight of 2.0 for compounding.

The prior timeline never said August, it said "Summer" and this was adjusted now because it was a) not aligned with the Whitepaper and b) summer is not the same around the globe. It's June-August in USA while being Dec-February in Australia for example.

Rewards from staking have to be manually claimed and GAS fees for those transactions have to be paid:

• When you stake ILV yield farming rewards start piling up for you
• You claim those rewards whenever you deem the pile to be big enough to justify gas fees
• If you claim sILV you have it unlocked right away (sILV is only usable in game as a substitute currency for ETH outside the marketplace and the Leviathan Arena)
• If you claim ILV then that batch of ILV gets locked for 12 months and automatically staked in the ILV pool with a token weight of 2.0 for compounding effect
• New rewards start piling up....rinse and repeat

NB: ILV paid out as part of Illuvium’s Revenue Distribution have to be claimed as well but are not subject to a locking period.

Collectible Illuvium NFTs are already available on Opensea https://opensea.io/assets/illuvium All are limited edition. The emotes and m0z4rt skin NFT's are redeemable in game. Upon use, these NFT's will be burnt when applied in game. This is only true for these emotes, skins, and badges as they were bonuses for the initial ILV token sale.

That energy can be used for a variety of actions including scanning, gathering, battle etc. In theory you can even capture more than one Illuvial per travel but using your energy wisely and thus optimizing your spoils per travel will make a huge difference between good and less good players.

A metric a lot of people look at is market cap and token supply. We have a 275M market cap right now. Competing games (see Axie) have a roughly 4B market cap right now.

There's no guarantee we reach Axie's market cap, but that's kind of the ballpark a lot of people are considering when looking at investing and what their profit could be.

It's also worth noting that ILV has tokenomics that return rewards via staking and revenue distribution. That, and the prospect of a AAA game, mean that Illuvium could exceed Axie.

Like any investment, there's a component of risk, and it's up to you to do your own research and decide if you accept the risk.

BUT, while the game will be free to play, in order to participate in the earning part of the economy, a bit of money needs to be invested. A full cycle of travelling, curing shards, etc. is currently estimated to be around $50 (this can still change).

In Illuvium there will be several options to P2E:

• sell captured Illuvials
• sell farmed materials
• sell crafted items
• play the marketplace (buy low, sell high)
• wager on battles in the Leviathan Arena
• earn some of the 1 Million ILV set aside for in-game rewards
• …

BUT, while the game will be free to play, in order to participate in the earning part of the economy, a bit of money needs to be invested. A full cycle of travelling, curing shards, etc. is currently estimated to be around $50 (this can still change).
