Breach is meant to be proving groumd for stuff that can go into The New MMO lite

But could turn into something more

I would assume they are turning some eyes onto the general starting points for Overworld since they hired the new Dev's for it. Those conversations are probably just being had, that's all.
I don't think he meant they are putting all their dev team from Gauntlet > Overworld.

As the lads above said, Gauntlet is still the focal point until that's solid enough for Marketing - then the team will move over to Overworld. Breach is not beign designed to be released as a stand alone game (yet at least, maybe in the future?) and it's being developed by like 2 people, and it's gonna be used for a more streamlined development of the MMO Lite in general.

TLDR: Gauntlet > Breach/MMO Lite development > Beyond/ILZ on the sides

Also, the reason you are seeing little bits and pieces of different games, like breach, new units for it, gauntlet stuff, Beyond leaks... is because the communtiy wanted leaks again.
It's not to say they are putting all their man power on a different game every week, it's simply because this is what the Community loved most about the project when it was starting out - seeing things as they were created or idealised

I think staking should be reworked though yes, could do the longer you stake the bigger the multiplyer, compared to the current stake for X up to 1 year, then liquid and sell any time you want without any downside apart from having to stake again and w8 until liquid.

You can sell and buy illuvials now/allready on IMX so unsure what the issue would be to be able to use it for other items on the illuvidex 🙂 Yep having the choice to lock for longer would be cool, but currently there is no real reason/utility to do it unless we use vILV more often

e.g. to incentivy staking now, it would have to be something like a multiplier, that goes up with time and people can´t just stake and get it day 1 of staking

so if people unstake they lose multiplier, that isn´t easy to get back kinda thing

Nah, heaps of people would have ILV in their passport from rewards, can grab a cosemetic d1sk or something if they want and it goes back into treasury its a win/win just expands its utility. Also saves in hassle in gas/fees swapping to eth or to ilv etc.. ps: if 1 ILV is worth one mega d1sk at the time then sure but it might be 0.8 ILV or 2.5 ILV but its no different to sILV2 except its not burnt

With a fixed Overworld price we also fix the demand side meaning Illuvials aren't minted for 0.00001$

I've been wanting to play overworld for more than a month and I haven't done it because there were no stats, and from what I've seen I get the impression that maybe they didn't put them on purpose so that we wouldn't capture illuvials. A week prior to implementation, a snapshot was taken of the averages fuel values. Bonus fuel is directly tied to their value.
All these crude fuels, Crypton, Solon, Hyperion, will gain a valuation averaged across that week.

Then the highest priced fuel is taken as a reference and all your fuel is pegged to the value of that fuel in a dollar value. from there, you buy the New Fuel.
Example (purely to make a point, numbers are exemplary):

I have 100 fuel of each, Hyperion, Crypton, Solon.
In this example, Hyperion is priced at 1 cent, Crypton at 0.5 cents and Solon at 0.1 cent.
Hyperion is valued the highest average at 1 cent, so all fuels are pegged to that value of one cent per fuel -> together i now have 300 fuel, all priced at 1 cent each so my total Dollar value is 300 cents.
From here, the migration happens and you get X amount of new fuel. The new fuel is priced at say 1$. With my 300 cents in old fuel, i now get 3 new fuel worth exactly the same 3 dollars.

Implement average values and new fuel price and you could in theory do the calculations yourself. Here I chose easy numbers. Since we are going from an inflated amount of fuel to small amounts, it gives an outlining of what you can expect to an extent. 👍

I think at some point you could do a run for around 12 cents? Which was naturally unsustainable. Now the price of a stage 3 run will be set to 9 dollars so you will not be able to do the same amount of runs. But, similarly any illuvials and such will become that much more costly to obtain as well.
So early birds who played the game and spent their fuel to obtain illuvials may see a good appreciation of their valuation.

The emergency proposal option is for when immediate action is needed or the topic can’t be shared publicly without adverse impact to the DAO. It was implemented during the USDC depeg a couple years ago for those sort of critical financial risks. It has also been considered for major financial decisions that require confidentiality. For instance if we had a buyout offer from a Web2 studio, we couldn’t bring that to the public without killing the deal. In this case, material impact to the financial situation of the DAO from front running is the reason. A trading blackout was instituted for the councils at the time of the vote for this same reason.

Since I have no permission to write in the Feedback channel, I will do it here. Must say that I'm still shocked after yesterdays TH. Does the Team actually know for what target audience this game should be to attract hundreds of thousands / millions of them? I think that a web3 game of this caliber should be like a more adult version of Pokémon, targeting people who loved TCG, Collecting and Pokemon when they were young and now are older, have a job and money to spend on a hobby like Illuvium. My friend bubble is like this. But if I would tell them about Illuvium (with the intended upcoming changes), the necessary Grind to get good Illuvials combined with the ridiculous cost, they would think I've gone crazy to spend my time with this or at least that there are much better alternatives. It hurts to say that because I think the whole thing has a lot of potential if done right and is adjusted to said target audience. But that the team thinks 60$ for a T5S3 Fuse is OK is still mindboggling to me. Not to mention the cost of land plots and what you're actually getting for it... I think there really needs to be a (re-)analysis of the target audience and find ways to make the game(s) as attracting as possible to it. Even the most loyal community members like Scoriox seem to have lost faith

it's like getting 9 charmander pokemon cards, and fusing them into a Charizard EX card. If you want the Charizard EX card, the max power Rhamphyre, either you buy as many packs as needed, or you pay a large amount to make that happen.

I totally do understand your frustrations because you compare it to the previous version. But in Pokemon there was no fusing process and you would have to continue buying packs for that super rare card. at least Illuvium gives that catch-up mechanic where you can get the rare card if you pay the same as buying a good number of packs.

I really like most of the changes and direction in the new patch, except this very high price tag on fusing. So I do agree that $60 seems way too high especially when you consider that you are also "gambling" with the stats on the fused Illuvial, and have to level them up.
I really like that you can gather a bunch of S2, level them up and try your luck to get a good S3. (it's sort of a "mini game" by it self)... It's also one one the only real burn mechanisms we currently have. (Not sure if it should be completely free, but defiantly not anywhere as high as $60)

Well part of me likes the idea of course, otherwise I wouldn't be invested and play the game. But I think with the intended changes we're making the game much less attracting to people who might be interested in such a game. 60$ is just an insult, better scrap fusing completely than to really think this would be an acceptable price

IMO there is already enough gambling and grind involved, no need to make it even harder / more expensive. There's only a certain amount of time and money said target group is willing to spend on the game (because as I said, likely older, wealthier but with certain other obligations)

I just think fusing should also be a more valid option, and it's also ok it's more cost effective to capture the higher stages, but 60$ to make one fuse is the same as saying "you should not fuse, unless you are 100% sure you get a really good result, of something that super rare. but lets see, it can always be adjusted after some more testing and data collection 🙂

Whenever the ev of opening something becomes good the players and bots will create new supply at a much faster rate than demand and then we go towards the equilibrium of negative EV

But now if we get stats in OW it may make playing OW much better than openning packs for 20% more expensive and that will make pack openning really unatractive which will hurt revenue. We want people to be attracted to the pack openning because its extremely easy and fast to spend money

Land has been detached from the ecosystem.
Land no longer has any bearing on fuel or economy.
Land is now a side game where you will BURN your fuel weekly in order to get your share of 5% of Illuvium revenue.

If you want fuel from your land... you now have to burn your fuel, get eth from revenue share, then buy fuel

So the amount of fuel you can get from your land is dependent of how much revenue Illuvium makes

These changes were just announced a few days ago. The new system is currently on testnet before mainnet rollout. So no one really knows if it will be better or not yet than the previous system.

But as a landholder... I think it's a terrible misstep that land can no longer send fuel to their own account... or at least a portion of it. If they at least kept some form of fuel to account that would at least incentivize ppl to keep playing Zero.

As for detaching land fuel from the economy it's prob a good decision because it just makes things a lot easier for balancing and development. So in that aspect it will prob help direct development dollars to go towards where they want it to more... arena, mmo, beyond.

And maybe even free up some creativity possible with Zero since it won't be so tied to the economy.

That said... people bought land with the previous mechanics in mind... so just changing everything without prior communication is like a rug for landholders. So hopefully they do things to make it right and not create more resentment.

This was the original plan btw. I still don't know why they went back on it many months back with the addition of fuel transfer, but they did

Not being able to use your own fuel from IZ lands to pay for stuff in overworld is a tough loss of immediate value for us land owners. The ability to do that was certainly the biggest value the land owners have had. And we have not even always had that ability.

Without an actual erc20 token for fuel that land owners could sell into and buy back from there’s not a great way to keep the value produced by land actually linked to the global demand for fuel. At least not that I’ve ever seen discussed. I am hopeful that the new fuel burning method will end up providing land owners with at least the long term ability to use their lands to fund their overworld runs. It’ll just be on a per month basis (if I’m reading the articles right).

I’d always like the idea of selling into a liquidity pool and immediately buying back the fuel you want to use in overworld. All handled on the backend as a single multifunction transaction. But ideas and what’s possible to execute don’t always line up.

The problem I've always seen with direct transferring without a direct link to revenue is ultimately circumventing the DAO. Not a big deal at volume, but if Illuvium isn't generating revenue it can damage the ecosystem to a certain extent

So few landowners play that it's not really that big of a deal. But what would have been better is to treat land like a subscription service from the beginning. Land alots you x$ per month, part of the reason to own it, would be baked into the economy and be easier to manage.

But the problem with any of these transfer systems is this.

If I come to Illuvium and a landowner gets 'free fuel' then they can acquire a Rhamphy and sell for any price they want. Anyone who travels in the Overworld without Land is almost pinned to the travel cost.

So then why would anyone ever buy fuel ever again? When they can acquire any Illuvial for below market value on the Illuvidex? They wouldn't and thus Illuvium's entire economy disintegrates faster than a wet piece of paper.

By directly limiting it to things like revenue, or an upper limit like a battle pass, you mitigate this. Or if the game had 1m players.

Going forward it puts landholders in a very uncomfortable position.
THERE IS NO INCENTIVE TO PLAY
This direction kills land... yes perhaps only in the short term... and over the next several months playerbase may grow and revenue may increase... thereby slowly sprouting some new growth. But realistically, landholders are fd in the short term at least.

I agree with those pushing for significant increase in fuel storage facilities on land... that way there is at least some agency for landholders and they arent forced to burn fuel when revenue is LOWWW cuz their storage is maxed...

And you'll have to forgive me but... the DAO may see it as 'free fuel'. But for landowners that was $10k usd or more for some t4s that are now sub $1k. So inmany landowner's eyes it far from free fuel...

If anything it's another Illuvium broken promise

imo the biggest issue with IZ is perpetual supply

vastly different than IRL oil
you need to discover new reserve, improve technology, while having the ability to cut production and build more storage

But anyhow... this is where things are at. The choices that were made don't make me feel thrilled or excited to be a landowner. Arena players, Beyond, OW ppl looking forward to mmo... there's some kindling there sure. But land...

Anyhow... enough misery for the night.
Maybe someone will wake up tomorrow with a spark for Zero...
