So, the game economy works like this: The overworld is a big world where you go and explore and get into fights. If you want to explore, you have to have fuel/gas in your backpack, so you can go really far and wide. So you need to buy that fuel. Where do you buy the fuel? You buy it from people who own processing plants and factories, on Illuvium Land. The fuel they produce is then listed for sale on the Illuvidex (illuvium marketplace) as NFTs. The price for fuel isn't fixed, so it fluctuates with supply and demand but with 100 million people all needing fuel, and 20,000 land plots in existence, there is likely to be a high demand. So, you buy the fuel from the land holders. If you own your own land, you use your own fuel, obviously. Then, now that you have fuel, you go and find the Illuvials. The creatures. They are on your team to fight other people with. If you catch an axolotl for example, then you can sell that to someone else. If you want your axolotl to grow up bigger and meaner, you can fuse 3 baby axolotls together. Someone will want to buy those 3 babies from you because they won't want to spend hours trying to find them. They will want a big daddy axolotl immediately, so will buy your illuvial axolotl from you for whatever price you set. Maybe you sell it for 10 cents, maybe $1. Up to you. Demand and supply. Whilst this economy is up and running, illuvium is taking a percentage off the top of all transactions, so ultimately the money coming in is new money from players, and what illuvium earns get distributed to people who own shares in the company. (ILV token).

Afaik the levels/experience is calculated across the 3 illuvials. Apparently you see the level requirement when going to fuse or on the upgraded illuvial.
I haven't done it yet so I'm not sure. Yet that is the advice from others.

i understand, this applies to TFT/dota auto chess and other auto battlers as well. Position is an integral part of the game. But it's just that, a part of the game not the majority. For me, with the bench and RNG elements of the game and upgrading units during the match it feels good when you find the right units and they get stronger. You don't know what team comp you're going to play going into a TFT game because the game will not always give you those units. This is where skill expression comes into play and you pivot into different comps. Here it feels quite a lot more static knowing exactly what you're going to play going into a game and less exciting, at least for me.

I can see people enjoying the game as it is right now for sure. With TFT being the biggest auto battler I hope that a game mode similar (having a bench/RNG/upgrading units) to it gets introduced in Illuvium. Not having a bench/RNG element is taking out such a huge part of the currently known autobattler genre. Otherwise I think a lot of TFT players might overlook the game because its so different. Visually the game is so good and different from TFT I can see people switching to Illuvium if the gameplay were similar.
