I have some knowledge about video game development and the delay doesn't surprise me at all, in fact, I'm surprised that you have delayed it so little. I understand that having these tight release dates makes the team work harder (I will avoid going into evaluating issues like crunch), but for the players it is extremely negative. Keep in mind that one of the problems with blockchain games is that players are also investors, so these types of delays are even worse. I believe that you should not have a roadmap because since I have been following the project, delays have been the norm, and in the end a roadmap will only serve to make those delays worse. I think that, for the community, you should propose more realistic dates, or not give dates at all, just one release date.

There is a phrase in video game development that is "20% of the development requires 80% of the work." What that phrase means is that the part of making the game is the easier, fixing bugs, balancing your game, realizing that certain mechanics don't work and fixing them, this type of thing it's what takes the most time. It surprises me that they proposed such a short pvp test, and that they did not expect to encounter that type of problems. I think that, if those dates were realistic for them, they should reconsider that perhaps they are not being realistic with them.

I totally get the frustration, I've been in this space a long, long time. When you're investing your hard earned money into something and it gets delayed, that has a material affect on your life, so again, say your peace and vent, we will take it and use it as motivation to go even harder. We don't take these delays lightly, and it is the last thing we want to announce. We'd also love to give ourselves massive buffers with these estimations, but the harsh reality is if we did that things would be delivered slower, which we can't allow. We theoretically could have announced this 10 days earlier but there was around a 15% chance that we would make the deadline then, because of that we decided to wait for another sprint, and see if we could make it. The guys have been going ridiculously hard, backend, arena team, game design, and I mean ballistically hard to make this date.

That's on me for not making the call to draw a line in the sand and announce it. But when you've got multiple teams going super hard to hit a date so that they can please the community and show off what they have been working on for such a long time, the last thing you want to do is not believe in them that they can hit that date.

We didn't foresee these issues continuing, we thought we could iron them out in time. It's super unfortunate but take it as a signal of how close we are, that would be the silver lining for me.

There is a difference releasing early Jan VS end of March. This is especially relevant for LPs who want to decide how long to continue LPing Vs switching to single exposure.
