Someone had said ages ago that Ark Sever likes high single threaded performance. Do you find the 2.6 affects server tick rate?

We've set stack sizes to 25 but need to increase our weight to be able to carry more as we couldn't get a mod working on our server and this is the work around. I use the 12700k for encoding for OBS Teleport from the 5600X3D. Keeps the gaming machine from having to encode locally.

I think I lose a few fps trying to encode locally on 5060ti 16GB.

I have a question about player stats. I own a cluster, and for some reason our stats are all messed up from server to server. The stats have been set up correctly but for some reason aren't reflecting on our characters even after a mindwipe. We have tried reinstalling the servers to make fresh ini files even unmodified and still this is happening. why?? I have been working on this for days and don't understand what is going wrong

I mean like weight, health, melee etc. on player stats.

Any advice would be welcome!

Higher numbers mean higher weight. try setting it to like 5.

AI is good at things like coding. I had a microcontroller I needed emulated on a arduino which would control a 7 segment led display. Giving the AI model (probably Qwen) the microcontroller model, it was able to generate code in C which then allowed the display to count down in sequence. Hey guys, so I'm still trying to allow building in caves on a dedicated server. It appears that the server has to be PVP, which is done now. And I put a line in the gameusersettings.ini ("AllowCaveBuildingPvP=true") in line 91 which is still under the [Server Settings] header.
Still no luck though
Ideally I'd like to be able to build in PVE, but I can manage putting the server in PVP if needed.
Does anyone have a clue about how to allow cave building ? I really want that people can block artifacts as it is a major trading factor on my server.

okay so some of the wild dinos are tameable but modded ones say not tameable even if I spawn them tamed they become wild. On our PVE server they spawn in tamed just fine

You need to installed the Beta branch Pre Aquatica version of ark in your Steam client.
Then you can find normal ASE maps.

you are correct, when you have multiple servers with different maps that can connect to each other its most often referred to as a cluster

is there any documentation on the unified save format for servers? We have a dedicated server that was losing player data consistently, typically the same data. it would happen after they transfered, almost like the profile wasn't saved when they arrived on the map. they log off, even after a few hours and poof, the player data is gone. I restore the profile from backup and it works. It was recomended to use the new save format and that worked at one point when i did it, we've since started again and i had a player lose their toon even with the unified save data. so i guess it's a few questions.

1. is there any data on how the save format works, and where the player data is backed up if you use the backup player data on transfer switch
2. anyone experience the player profiles not getting generated and found a common reason, i'm thinking ping right now, but don't know.
3. is it possibly because i'm running it on an ssd rather than nvme drive. The server has plenty of cpu and ram, but the files are on ssd.

Edit for future readers: my solution for cgnat was to run a tailscale link to an external vps with a public ipv4, disable all necessary firewall rules on the vps so it can route server data between it and my server, and use arguments -ip and -serverip in the ark server itself to make players connect to the vps instead of the servers physical location.

starting to get tired of the character loss issues with ark lately. I don't know what it is, but even using the unified save file we're having people daily lose the profile. Nothing has changed in our setup other than a fresh wipe with the 5.5 update.

yep, that's the problem with it alright. but that's what's been suggested to me to fix the player loss.

I had the unified save file set up on my cluster, and my character profile got horribly bugged, where I had to make a new character every login and kill my body + then get back all my stuff

Someone suggested putting a shack with a bed in it a little ways off from your main base to help prevent the duplication of inventory items. Seems the problem arises when spawning in to a large(ish) base.

Hello there, i have recently bought the astraeos dlc but i am running into a problem that makes it unplayable for me. Every few seconds my game stutters (fps drop from 150 to 110 and go back and forth, the gpu usage goes from around 85% to 50%). I tried everything and i am out of options can someone pls at least tell me what is going on. I cant Pvp with constant stutters PLS HELP
Edit: I tested and this issue is only occuring on the Astraeos DLC map, on other maps i have stable fps, gpu usage and no stutters

Adjust your settings to play well on all maps, including Astraeos and i bet you will still have more fps than my system could get on its best day. But then I'm able to play fine on more than my system's best day.

Make sure your graphics drivers are fully updated.
Are you using anything like Upscaling or "AMD Fluid Motion" enabled? Or the "Anti-Lag" features? I would start there. If you have stuff like frame smoothing enabled, try disabling it. If you don't have it enabled, try enabling it.

You have to modify your Game.ini file. There are a lot of Options to look at. EX.

I think the default is 1 for all of them. Making them higher should make your XP growth go up.

If your server is running, you will need to restart it for it to work.

what are your system specs, and you said you put all on low, did you turn off the advance features on the right and also disable volumetric clouds? For me, the frame rate killer was advanced graphics. Set that to low, all my frame rate issues disappeared.

I'd like to announce a problem I've been having since the Ragnarock release update, it's impossible for me to join this ark from a server (I play on an unofficial server hosted on Nitrado) whereas all the other players manage to do so, during the transfer I systematically get a black screen followed by the message "connection timeout".
I've already uninstalled and reinstalled my game twice, deleting all the data from my computer. It doesn't change anything, and every time a new Map is released, it's the same thing: I have to wait for the next one to be released, or even longer, before I can join the previous one... Please do something, despite all the updates you launch, I still can't get to Ragnarock...

In Ark: Survival Ascended, baby dinosaurs will generally continue to grow even when no players are online, provided they have a food source and are not in stasis

I have a dedicated cluster and when I transfer, the destination world doesn't load in entirely and I need to disconnect and re-connect to be able to interact and do things (which requires kicking my player from the server side). You need to make sure your ISP does not use CGNAT. If it's starlink they do. If you are in the EU many do.

You need a public IP for the port forwarding to work.

I suggest calling your ISP and asking if you have or can have a public IP or if the ISP uses CGNAT.

Hello ARK Support,

I’m an ARK: Survival Evolved player using the Epic Games version of the game. After the latest update (version 360.10), I’m facing a serious issue.

Previously, I was able to see and join over 700 unofficial servers — including a specific one I regularly play on (Nymeria, version 358.11). However, after the recent auto-update through Epic Games, I can now only see 2 unofficial servers in the browser, and I can no longer see or connect to the Nymeria server, even though other players on Steam (some still on version 358.11) can join it without problems.

I understand that server version mismatch may cause connection issues, but I believe there may be a problem with the server browser on Epic Games as it no longer displays the full list of unofficial servers.

Could you please investigate this issue or advise if there is a way to roll back my version or restore visibility of the unofficial servers list?

Hi all, I was trying to set up a server on my Linux box, but after installing the game, there was no ShooterGame executable available. It was only available on the Windows subfolder. To get the Linux version, I had to install the preaquatica branch, which means all my players now need to switch to that branch as well. Is there a way to get a native Linux server through steamcmd with the main branch?

my old server with ddr3 ram used a few gigs less per server than my new server with ddr4
the x5675 has ddr3
using no mods helps
and using save file version 11 helps with save storage maby that helps with ram idk

My unofficial server has been crashing a bit. I have a lot of modded tames (30ish), and hope that really isnt the issue, but im now thinking it is. All the crashes have only been noticed on only PS5 players. The crashes started after the summer bash event. I removed the summer bash mod but the crashes are still happening.

Anyone know if there are any known mods with corrupted files that could be causing the crashes?

trying to get my ASA server up and running in a Windows VM within a Harvester (Linux-based hypervisor solution) cluster. I cannot get ASA to reach "Server has completed startup" on the VM, and I'm not sure why. The server seems somewhat of a black box. I see "Full startup" and a time, followed by core count, and no further messages with the server sitting at yellow status and "Ticking loop" for what it is doing. I do eventually see GC kick in, but again no message that startup finished and is ready to join. Zero mods, fairly basic configuration settings. Open to any ideas here. I'd also appreciate maybe some commands if any exist to help diagnose issues.

hi so i have this one last thing for my server and just need a littler help if anyone doesn't mind helping the wiki doesn't quite explain what I need so...I want to change boosted stat multiplier per level for tamed Dino's you see for character I have health ,weight and stam increase 1000 per level I want to do the same for Dino when tamed but its confusing lol I don't understand how Dino tamed multiplier, Dino tamed add multiplier and Dino tamed affinity are meant to work so um unsure what to change the values to if anyone can help that would be great.

Poke around Google a bit. You will find an ini posting that has a fairly comprehensive list of per level stat multipliers for player, tamed and wild. Copy/paste into “notes” on your computer so you have a separate back up of them incase things go horribly wrong lol. Then copy/paste into your game ini files and change your settings as you see fit. Remember, these are multipliers, “1” is official setting, so a little goes a long way.

Hey everyone, I've run into an issue with my Ascended unofficial server. It was working fine before, but now it won't even start.

While my server was running, my computer suddenly shutdown. Now when I try to start my server it gets stuck at loading the map data and then entirely crashes. I've already tried changing the save file back to an older save and validating the game files with SteamCMD.

This is the error message I'm getting from the crash report: Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000018

Any help would be appreciated.

if you are ASE then you can just check battlemetrics to see as they only show if they are.
ASA will show regardless of it being port-forwarded or not even for the server browser. can try using geforce or xcloud (if you have gamepass) since they are streamed it'll work as if you are from outside your house.

i made a new server (own root server) and these one should have wild dino level 300.
But the normally configuration didn't work.

I tried following:
DifficultyOffset=1 OverrideOfficialDifficulty=10

and
DifficultyOffset=3 OverrideOfficialDifficulty=10

but the wild dinos are still max level 150.

And yes i did wild dino kill. With every restart the server will kill all wild dinos.

Anyone have an idea why its work?

my thinking is if you last tried to use the transfer option through a specific transmitter, that could be the culprit. Through an Obi, probs cluster files. That's how I'd approach it. best of luck

The dino's are definitely higher level, like they should be, but still getting the odd lvl 44's and such here and there? shouldnt everything be in an increment of 5, from 5-150? Short answer, i dont think thats something you affect, you can get any number. They dont spawn at increments like that

We are running a dedicated server and all purchased bob's tall tales today. we switched from game pass to steam, I adjusted the IDs of our characters so we do not lose stuff. now to the problem... when we learn an engram from the dlc, it consumes the engram points and everything is fine... until we relog and stuff is not unlocked anymore but the engram points stay gone

context: I'm running server behind cgnat, so i have a tailscale link routing data to and from a vps which has a public ip. Players can join by "open vps ip:port", but when trying to join via server browser it times out, because it will send them to my cgnat, not to the vps.

Yeah. It doesn't work. For me multihome just dictates which ip the servers listens on. Since the vps/public ip is external and not on my network or pc, it can't find it and times out if you try to connect. Multihome needs to be on 0.0.0.0 or my tailscale tunnels ip or the server doesn't function at all. Is there any other ways to set public ip?

That's not an error message it's an info one, if you look when starting the server you will see one just like it but about opening it

You will also see that close one when doing a normal shutdown of the server

I'm hosting a server for ASE (preaquatica beta branch) for me and my friends but I've stumbled upon an issue that I cannot unlock modded engrams (this is happening to the S+ mod) or cannot place modded structures (happening to the Death Recovery mod). I had this issue with me and my friends before we started to use dedicated servers. If you're using steam and they're the ones trying to join and getting connection errors tell them to verify their game files. Once they do that YOU need to send them an invite to the server usually we got the errors when we would try to use the steam overlay to join game instead of accepting an invite.

Alrighty, since that doesn't work. If you're okay with mods there's a mod called Weapons+ on ASE that allows for you to individually modify the damage of weapons (including tek turrets) in the game.ini file. that'll let you modify the tek turret damage.

Hey, I've been trying to remove some engrams but some just refuse to be removed. I used beacon to find the INI coding and disabled/hid all the engrams I don't want. But I just, I can't do it. I give up. If someone has any ini coding that properly removes all technologically advanced and tek engrams for a primitive/medieval feel and wouldn't mind sharing the list, that would be awesome, i could cry tbh. I've wrapped my head around this for longer than Id like to admit. I could use the Primitive Survival mod but it only works for Steam and I'd like not to limit people!!

I don't know a web-based one that has all of those features. Basic mgmt stuff can be done with AMP by Cube Coders but thats mostly just configuration/start/stop/etc.

You need to be in a different branch. They broke a lot of stuff when they deployed the new update(s). There is a post from about a month ago in #announcements for the ASE server (discord). All of the stuff here is for ASA.

You need to look for "ASE pre-aquatica".

Also, if you use the post aquatica branch basically most of the mods won't work at all and probably never will again.

Anyone know a fix for otters seemingly spawning under the map? No cave or anything nearby, but Ragnarok ASA. Literally taking a gene scanner to all the otter spawn locations and I can stand on top of where they supposedly are. damn near impossible to get an otter

yup, steam and most servers updated to v360.14. Epic got stuck at 360.10. Cant play either, f....
