Using OVH to host a server. Installed the epic security certificate, port forwarded the ports correctly, and the OVH firewall is even disabled yet my server won't show up. Anyone run into this?
I've ran many different servers in the past so I do know the ins & outs of things. Never ran into this issue before. Can't even direct connect to it.
Hello can someone help me troubleshoot. Every time I go to play Ark Ascended on PS5, it black screens me 2-3 times or more before it lets me into the server we rent. Nothing consistently helps, I restart the server and my system several times usually. It also kicks me constantly. We play on the Island and it gives me these issues and makes the game very unplayable.
@swift lynx go to an afishol map make a carikter walk arawnd for a cuple minets log out of the afishol and go to the unofishol that you want to play should lode you in the ferst time.
So i to get boost codes for our server. We was paying a sub for it but now we dont get the boost code option at all for the server?

Is there a way to turn off the feature so that nothing happens without rendering? There is currently a great bug that makes playing relatively pointless (recalculating the unrendered time is incorrect - when breeding). I would just like to play Ark intensively again.

I usually just enable singleplayer settings, breeding is fast, less xp needed to level, taming is quicker but not too fast

hello, wondering if anyone else is having this issue. on my server the babies all stop growing when nobody is online. oddly enough, their imprint timer still continues to go down. i can't find any sort of "pause when nobody is oflline setting". any ideas?
Just leave it on 1x, singleplayer settings option will scale it all

Anyone else having a heck of a time getting Astraeos to even start up? It is just stuck in a restart loop. I put in a ticket to Nitrado and they fixed it, but it isn't actually fixed-

So my friend group wants to play ark again ( 7 people) they're on xbox and im on PC if i host a non dedicated would we have to deal with host barrier?
if you are on steam then you can't do a non-dedi to xbox.
non-dedi is not crossplay unless you are PC xbox to xbox.
also 7 people on a non-dedi is crazy.

only through a dedicated server. non-dedi always has the tether and only steam/epic ASE can change it will still pull into caves, boss arenas, and sometimes randomly (load points)
Im fine with it pulling to arenas and caves but i want to be able to extend so we can play at most of the map is that possible?

a series X host is bigger tho I believe. some maps like the island have it big enough for the entire thing
think its, one X/PC xbox 50% bigger. and series X(10x bigger) not sure on series S would assume its 50% bigger

yeah, since it doesn't read the PC specs it just has the 50% boost.

my save inflated from 100mb to 900. Server wont even start, just eats all the ram then crashes. Last save I have that has the progress I care about is 600mb, launching it is possible, but it keeps bloating up.

the difference between the 600 and 900mb saves seems to be about 30,000 araneos and some other cave stuff. 600mb only has 3,5k wild total tho
It always does that, ark goes into stasis and then when you come back it recalculates the time that was missed. Most of the time it means the baby dies of hunger because that is calculated before. Not sure if this is fixed but that's what it used to be. I always cryo babies before leaving.
not sure on those mods. check to see if any are over 6 months since the last update.
I doubt an overspawn would cause that much a file size difference can just dino wipe if its that tho 
why is there like no players in any server on ark steam
ASE is very spread out. use battlemetrics to find an active server.

hey im playing ASE on a private server with friends. we have difficulty set to 5 but so far almost EVERYTHING is in the 5 to 50 rarely 60 range. seen like 1 level 100. have flown all over the map with a spyglass, used killall several times. any help plz?
are you on steam only?
if they are going up by 5 then the settings are correct its just the distribution. the only way to fix that is with a mod like custom dino levels (only for steam on ASE, will block epic from joining)
there is technically a way to do it with ini I think but I have no idea how and its probably a pain if you can't find a copy/paste for it
i have been trying to research this for days, posting here is sort of my final hope, if u or anyone could remember or figure out what the ini edit is i would really appreciate it. the server is being run on a linux server, idk how to ad mods
if everybody is on steam then that is going to be easier to do.

I highly suggest using custom dino levels it just effects that.
rigth now if u get onto ur fav asa official server and do a loop around redwoods u will see at leas3-5 dif dinos of 135+ level

im saying on this private server, days of playing and super trying hard to search, only 1 level 100
yeah, its RNG. there is no setting that officials uses to make it better. custom dino levels is how unofficials make it better.
im sorry, i appreciate the help. but u and i are having a failure to communicate, firstly i recognize that that mod can and prob would fix my problem and i may end up using it. but the problem is %110 somehow the spawn rates of higher level things are being nulified

tek dinos are just different. they should go up by 6s instead.
if you are getting 0 land dinos then yeah something is wrong lol. could be event related. make sure you disable them.

All these free mods. I feel lost in the forest trying to find mods that work on our unofficial map. Is there a way to find out what works what doesn't besides downloading, logging in and seeing no mods in my cosmetics? Over and over
how do i add new mods to a cluster? i've added the mod id to both of my bat files but it says mods failed to install, is there a different way to do it for clusters vs single server?

all those mods were before i created the cluster, started on the island and just copied the bat, changed map name etc and added the clusterid

Yes windows server, steamCMD, just says some mods failed to install and the server window closes
I think you might be falling foul of the certificate issue between Windows Server and curseforge.

I run my servers on straight windows 11 so I’ve not experienced this. But I’m aware that the encryption certificates on Windows Server can expire

how would you normally add new mods, just add the mod id to all bat files in cluster? is there something in any of the ini files that needs to changed for clusters or something, if it works on a non clustered server i dont get why it wont on my clustered ones 😦

first - giga spawn container is hardcoded and cant be changed with ini configs so you gotta add them to different spawn container or use more gigas and carchas spawn mod.
second - that code line is wrong if you in ASA. for asa you need to use full blueprint path instead of class names. you better use beacon omni tool for editing spawn container or look how original spawn container for gigas look like in asa.

oh yeah sorry i didnt notice that, thought you tried to edit original giga spawner. yeah then you just need to use bp path instead of class names. also if you take info from wikis its most likely outdated for asa. dont forget to add _C at the end of bp path as well
So I'm playing ASA now, and I'm hosting a dedicated server. However, since I hosted Extinction_WP, I'm getting this weird thing with logging in, and I seem to be the only one (and the only one that runs admin stuff sometimes)
I log into the server and the console states "incoming request from ..."
after which it states "User has joined the ark"
Then after a little while, I'm still in loading screen and the server states "User has left the ark"
After this my loading screen finishes, I am ingame, and naked with no equipment and inventory or structures around me.
After a minute or so, I get kicked out with "lost connection to the host" message.
Then I log in again, and it's all good...
What's up with this?

I just had this weird issue happen and now the server wont start up, me and another person were about to knock out an argie when the entire server stopped responding properly. Im pretty sure it wasnt lag, the argie kept flying in a straight line like lag but our characters were synced and so was the text chat.
do I just have to revert to an autosave?
If its not responding thats a pretty good way to get it back.
Use the General tab > "Start with" option and choose a save.
Then hit SAVE and hit start.
You may have to try a couple save files before you find one that works. Not all saves are valid.

I have the Astraeos DLC, but I cannot find it in my dedicated server settings. Do I have to add a mod for it? How does that work?
This is being experienced by everyone, or almost everyone tbh. Looks to be a game bug.
The DLC is a seperate download. I am unsure how it is handled on selfhost tho.

When I try to load up Ark Ascended I got a fatal error and had to attach a debugger but it still didn't load. I tried to reinstalling the game which got rid of the fatal error but it just goes straight to black screen please help i have been trying to fix this for a while now trying multiple methods but none of them worked.
I'm running a server and we are getting "Server Hitch Detected" messages. Is there any way to either turn this error off so that not everyone sees it, or fix whatever's causing it?

Having the same issue no creatures on any upper area that has an area below it. Has it been like it since launch because that is horrid if so
I've had it for a long, long time. If not at launch, very shortly thereafter. And because it seems to be a bug that somehow doesn't affect everybody for whatever reason, it still hasn't gotten fixed. I can assure you if it was affecting everybody + officials, it would have been patched by now, or at the very least acknowledged by WC that they're looking into a fix.
In the most recent past few ASA game builds, now ZERO creatures spawn into brand new Aberration SP worlds... lol. My favorite story map and I can't even play it due to these gamebreaking issues.
I've tested across Unofficial Nitrado server, unofficial self-hosted server, and SP with zero mods and default settings, and the spawn issue is consistent across all 3.
I've just tested on official and as far as I can see the creatures aren't spawning up high here either unless I'm getting very unlucky which seems crazy how nobody seems to be talking about it
I tried to test on official, but it's hard without admin commands with 0 creatures/etc to get there. That and tons of building spam blocking entire pathways up there for certain places.
For the no creatures spawning on singleplayer world enabling a mod flying around a bit then disabling a mod seemed to work for me everything was spawning after
But yeah, I even recorded a 10 min video of myself flying around with 0 mods looking at many of the larger affected areas (but not all), in my last bug report.
Yeah I found long walkways with no buildings completely devoid of creatures
Entire upper green zone + blue zone walkways are devoid of any spawns, entire upper area around portal spawn is devoid, and lots of other smaller areas spread across the entire map
It would be hilarious and par for the course if everybody actually was affected with this spawn bug, officials included, and WC just felt like it wouldn't be worth fixing and still didn't even bother to acknowledge its existence.
There was a time awhile back for a few ASA game builds where creatures started spawning in SP again briefly (but only SP)
Nothing spawned on servers on these same ASA builds
And then when Valentine event happened, I wiped creatures to get event colors/etc, and then the spawn bug was back to being present
It's anything (atleast in blue and green zones) that has spawning underneath it.
Which I thought maybe it was doing it on all maps so I checked the center and nope works fine there with the island in the middle creatures still spawn in the water below
WC and broken/buggy coding. A tale as old as time.
Rebuilt codebase? Feels more like they copy/pasted ASE code and ported into ASA. We even had old ASE bugs reappear that had been long fixed in ASE, IIRC.
Just very frustrating when Ab is my favorite story map, and I can't even play/enjoy it because of the gamebreaking spawn issues. Lol
I just can't believe there's a bug that exists this detrimental to a map
And that's with setting aside the horrendous performance issues on a game that still doesn't look that great
same, I found out after trying to base on a walkway and soon realised nothing was spawning up there with me
I can run HZD fully maxed at 80-90+ fps and stuff actually happening, but in ASA I can barely achieve 60 fps when looking at a wall in the structure instance with nothing happening around me.
It's crazy how bad ARK's coders/coding still is. I'll admit some of that is UE5 just being trash for performance all around, to an extent
And the fact they keep delaying the UE 5.4 5.5 engine upgrade/update which should bring some decent performance improvements
I fully expect when we get to 21st/28th that we'll be getting another condescending message about "let us cook... more" or something stupid while the update gets delayed for the 4th/5th+ time now
I really wish they didn't use UE5 for this every game I've played on it runs like dog shit
Even better dev teams/coders potentially struggle with it, and then you take the coders/devs who made the most infamous game in history for performance issues in ASE... lol

There are tools to convert from unreal 4 to 5. Feels like that’s what happened with the maps at least? Why do bees get stuck in cliffs on The Island, for example?
Oh yeah, bees are also broken on ASA too
Just restarting (if on an unofficial server) or exiting and re-entering (SP) removes all current bee hives.
Instead of keeping them around like all other creatures
thats probably intentional to help with dino wiping. since bee hives can't be wiped normally (tho the bees in it die)

because respawning takes time like all dinos
Unless I do the specific force-respawn on server boot parameter where it respawns everything (haven't tested in sp but likely the same)
Bees will almost never spawn, or only 1 since everything is already existing/counting against total population
its probably the steps being in the wrong order. so it does the bee wipe after doing the startup spawning of dinos. but with the force-respawn. it respawns them after.
never had that issue with bees on my server
they just take time to respawn after a couple hours.
Well, seeing as how I've had nothing but problems in ASA on both SP/unofficial, could be one of those that randomly affects some more than others

On ASA we are finding that Baby Mature extremely slowly, a mosa takes 6hours, i currently have the setting at 20, any advice how high to go, so to still give time for the imprint process but not be so long in maturing?
Whenever I rebooted on Ab server with wipe/respawn parameter it was around low 20s, IIRC
20-24 or something, giving some variance
But if server restarted for mod/server updates, it would go down to 0, and MAYBE within days it'd be lucky to get 1 or 2 at most
have never seen it at 20 lol. even in ASE, at least whenever I checked.
It's been too long so yeah, idr what values/numbers were on ASE
But there's 100% something wrong with them to some extent, lol
Although that's whatever. I can deal with low bee spawns. I cannot deal with actually no creatures spawning into my Ab world. xD
Will dreadnaughtus taming ever be fixed? The dinos that spawn during the taming process don't move.
Make as a tame that should be tricky, to easyn

Is there currently a bug in the game that causes characters to glitch in and out of the floor while walking when on a raft or platform saddle that has structures on it? Or is this just something that’s maybe going on on my end?
anyone ever have this happen: Admin spawned dinos (SDF commands) when they are cyropoded and thrown back out a stat changes, for example the melee goes up by 40% and stays that way? my understanding that this is normal

You are under level?
You are on an unofficial with missions disabled?
You are too many ppl for the mission?
Couple reasons
Look up the requirements for that mission and make sure they are met

There are settings that disable missions.
A search for “ark server config missions” should bring up some settings to check.

Usually this is just go to an obi, upload character, go to new map, download character at character select/customization.
If you can do this in a server, so can any other player in that server...

for the most part no, just make sure that only the host uploads dinos.

should be able to. non-dedi just uses singleplayer uploads that should include the survivor.

if its a server manager then you have to wait until its updated.
highly highly recommend not using one since they cause many issues.

What webui are you talking about? If its a third party software then they need to update it, i use a server manager and they had to update it to add the astreos map

Sorry if this has been asked a lot, but If I have a Nitrado server, can I play Ark Ascended on that server via PC Steam, and my buddy can play it on his PC via xbox, and my third buddy play it on his xbox console? Would we just simply need to input the server info/PW?
Yes, as long as everyone is playing Ascended. Crossplay is usually automatically enabled, but you can just double check the general tab in your nitrado server settings.
Has anyone else had the issue where on cloud gaming the cluster is not fully showing but on steam and actual consoles it shows fine?

Has there been any solution to "the inflating save file" problem or do I have to roll back to an older backup?
My save went from 40mb to 900 over a couple days where noone played on the server, it just restarted every day. Now the save file is too big for my pc to launch it.
I have a 690mb one that is a little older than the 900, can launch that one but it just keeps growing.
use a backup of the world without any mods. obviously you'll lose mod stuff but if that lowers the size to normal levels its a mod causing it.
ran it without mods and custom cosmetics, no difference I'm afraid :c (also wiped wild)

yes (any time I launch any of the saves that are 600+mb, it grows a little)

you can try viewing the save in ASV (ark save visualizer by miragedmuk) and seeing whats actually there.
the 900mb one had like 50k wild dinos, mostly cave stuff. The 600 one only had like 6k though
its most likely not wild dinos. else a destroywilddinos would fix it.

I'm trying to set up my dedicated server and I've installed steamcmd, made my folders, set up my bat file correctly and this is the stage where it all goes pear shaped. I get thrown some errors saying files are missing and to reinstall, I have now twice reinstalled and still having the same problems anyone have any solutions to help?

I run an Unofficial Server on Ark Ascended, and its a cluster server with almost 500 players in our Discord. Running a cluster server is pretty expensive so I wanted to possibly add a Shop with our own type of currency. The currency can be bought via donations or earned free by Giveaways, weekly /collect-income or Events. With this currency, they can purchase bundles, breeding pairs of dinos, building materials and an event of Harvesting plus.
My question is, if we wanted to include modded dinos in our list for the shop, would that be okay or is that not allowed? Now, nothing would be locked behind a paywall, players are able to get it themselves in-game. But for the convenience of it, they can donate and get that Modded dino rather then searching to tame it or the same with materials itself. Nothing is forcing a player to donate to enjoy the game, more so if they just want an easy way around the pain gathering materials or hunting for a dino.

you wont get in trouble, its perfectly fine to do that! Alot of the bigger pvp servers have stuff locked behind paywalls. Its unofficial , you pay for the priveledge to have the server how ever you want it to be

I've got a hosting-service that runs my server, but since the webUI has limited options, I wanted to use a server manager to update various configurations. But so far all managers I've found require it to be installed on the same machine as the server itself (which I get... from an "ease of access" point, but it should be possible. I did something similar with ASE before....)

I mean we're just community volunteers, but you're fine to do as you wish with unofficials, as long as you're not breaking Ark's Terms of Service (or if using a server like Nitrado, their ToS). The Code of Conduct only applies to official servers, and like W1ll said, tons of clusters run off of donations and ingame shops for that 🙂

Export allows you to get ini configs and command lines configs. map can only be changed if you have access to command line. paid version of beacon allows you to export settings to nitrado server
What do you mean "have access to command line"? Not the console from RCOn or in-game admin console right?
I don't have a nitrado server, but using the SFTP stuff from my hosting-service.
I'm not sure how to access the commandline of the hosting-service...
each server have a startup command line which start a server. thats where map name and other things like mods and ports go. while some of it can be changed with ini commands, things like maps can only be changed in server start bat. if you using hostings those usually dont give you full access to any servers command lines

Will WildDinoCharacterFoodDrainMultiplier work in ASA? The wiki doesn't know if it's compatible but some other multipliers work where the wiki also says it unknown.
do you have to do something special for players to be able to learn the maeguana saddle from a standard/included ASA map, i.e. extinction? They can see the engram but are unable to learn it even though they meet the requirements (level, available points, etc).
also interestingly enough, it's not present when entering creative mode as a saddle to craft.
but i can spawn it in with giveitem, etc.

I actually worked out it was a C++ issue 🙂 pics would be nice, but this is ark and the ark community tends to be a bit ummm different, they'd probably spam inappropriate stuff or do something ridiculous if they were given the freedom to post anything.

I got the Fear Ascended Mod on my server, its working fine.... However when it alerts us that the DodoRex is due and then arrived, we can't find it, we have tried every location you can think of, watch videos. No help.

Probably the mod itself. I wouldn't owrry about it, just wait for a new version and report the issue. Mods can spawn dinos and shouldn't have to be spawned it.

And look at the list you can verify if its actually spawning or not.
You can also use the Dino finder mods to find it as its not at all easy to find.
This is running on one of my island maps and was spawning last time I looked. Likely you just arent seeing it before it poofs.

I have an ASE server set up question -- I've had folks request I add to our ASE cluster, and I simply cannot figure out how to make this happen. Since this is an unofficial map it is somehow installed with a mod, but I cannot get it to load all the way on my server. It hangs up even if it is the only mod I add to the ini file. Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong?

Im having some trouble with a cluster, moreso the network setup behind it. I have the servers running on a seperate machine on my local network but my router (verizon g3100) doesnt have nat loopback/hairpinning that I can find. Was wondering if anyone has figured out an easy workaround

Is the correct map checked? The correct server settings on the bottom? If password/pc is the server type parameter and you don't have that checkmarked, it won't appear
And beyond that, it might not have even posted (if you have the server control panel to look and see what it says, if via Nitrado server hosting)

So you opened ports on your router's website specifically? The ports match the server's ports? You put every port pertaining to the server into your firewall exceptions list?
You also have to add the port into incoming/outgoing as well
For firewall. And if the setting/value isn't correct in router settings, then even if port number is correct it won't actually go through

can someone help me please? im trying to play crossplay dedicated server with my friend, i hosted the server and he can ping me over the command prompt and everything. but when he tries to connect over IP or look for my server on the server browser it doesnt work. when he tries to connect with the IP it says timed out... any help is very appreciated

there are extra steps you need to do for epic to be able to connect.
there is are settings. -crossplay and -PublicIPForEpic=<IPAddress>
you can't use any mods or epic can't join.

I've set up my test dedicated server, set up my port forwarding rules. The server is searchable in the list and other players can find it but when they try to join connection times out. Would this still be a port forwarding issue?
Could potentially still be a port forwarding issue or you're set to exclusive join and their IDs aren't in the exclusive join list so it allows them to attempt to join server before timing them out for not being on the list.
No but it is easier to go through all the settings and such with a PC

depends if its an ase or asa server,
asa server only needs the one game port forwarded for incoming player connections, by default 7777udp
must be through windows firewall and any router/switches etc between you and internet
We're working on the router now I was assuming that was the problem but I thought it wouldn't show in lists if that was the case. As I have multiple maps in the cluster I will need various game ports right?
And I do only have this one set to 7777 and Ive done inbound rule for TCP and UDP for it allowing connection on the server. I'm guessing it's the router
each server will need its own udp port yes, set them with -port=xxxx, they must be forwarded inbound in firewall and through the router
the server itself will show in the lists with out the game port forwaded as it makes its own firewall exception and sends outbound info to eos

Set both internal and external the same 🙂 It means someone coming form the external port of 7777 to the internal port of 7777
On I ended up setting a bunch of rules on the router that should cover it

Is this ASA or ASE? On ASE the mods come from the server to the client, and first time thru it is very likely they will time out a couple times. Just keep trying, it will take longer depending on how many mods you have added to the instance.

Does anyone know if Astraeros is supposed to be allowed to be hosted with anonymous steam? I realize you need the DLC purchased to join a server running the map - but i'm having issues starting my host. All 6 of my other servers run fine. The Astraeros one never completes startup. I get an output: Started and X cores assigned, but I never get the message that it is up and advertising / ready for join. I can't be logged in on my steam account in two places, so i'm kinda stuck here and there's really been no guidance released for server admins on how to host this map that i've seen other than some light guidance how to move from the mod version to the dlc version.
would be nice if the guidance that was provided to nitrado was public for all server admins....

You will need to perform a reinstall
New servers require about 30 minutes of setup time during which there are multiple restarts.
If the setup is interrupted the game can be corrupted and it will never show up or be joinable.
Fear not, this is fixed with a simple reinstall.
Shutdown your server.
Hit the REINSTALL button on the left side of your dashboard.
Wait 30 minutes, this is IMPORTANT
After 30 minutes, join the map BEFORE you make any changes. This is to verify that the game installation is good.
After this is verified, shutdown your server and then you can make your changes.
Be sure to always shutdown your server before saving settings changes to avoid game corruption issues.
host the map like any other, just name is astreaous , heres a simple batch file that will work for testing , if ran from same location as the .exe

a search of this channel likely resolves most self host issues,
99% of them are people using incorrect/ old ase commands
the othe 1 % are cert issues on server editions of windows or random isp / router nat issues
unfortunately, searching has not resolved anything for this issue. that would be far too easy.
The astraeos DLC is a separate installation as far as I know. I believe you have to download it separately.
is it a separate steam resource id?
They are planning to separate all the maps except for island with the engine upgrade, from what I have heard. So this will be something that needs to be setup in preparation for that switch anyway.
dlc is built into the game, no seperate download is needed server side ,
client side it needs paying for and downloading to join the server with it on
unless your trying to run the old "free" mod version of the map, then it needs adding as a mod .... aswell as the map name change

its just how they handle dlc, it got a lil janky becuase many had the mod version of the map before it was put into the main game

another question regarding the dynamic config, i have a file with 3 arguments, harvest and xp multiplier. will they also be need in the original gus.ini file?
for example, my file is just this:
HarvestHealthMultiplier=1
HarvestAmountMultiplier=4
TamingSpeedMultiplier=6
they dont need be no, the server will just use default if it isnt pointed at the dynamic
dynamic config overrides anything in GUS
so whatever is in the dynamic will override the same in gus, else is default or what is in gus

Since yesterday, several players have been having trouble logging into a server. It tells us: "Kicked due to battle eye, client not responding, or query timeout." that's pointing it to the ARK root install.

There is only one ark dedicated server program there is not a different dedicated server program for astraeos dlc

i gave you the correct update/install file
the dlc entitlement downloads 3483400 and the resource pakchunk2-Windows
its all the same , the dlc will be for client side
that may be, but the server isn't the same... so... there are things that need to be sorted for the server to pull astraeos updates when they are published.
no need to try to overcomplicate a simple process, there no rocket science, just install the server an it will be the latest version, if using a preinstalled server, ensure its on the latest version an the astreous map will be included

All dlc info is built into the dedicated server, has been that way since ASE with all it's dlcs
my magic process was , update server to latest version and change the map name, et voila , server boots

if the files are missing then i suspect the server had a hiccup installing or isnt on the latest version,
run a validate if it is on latest version

it starts and runs fine for me, not sure why it wont for you but Ark be Ark and work for some and not others
stmcmd has a been a asss for last month or so an sometimes wont update a server till you delete the acf file,
just steam being an arse after they changed the filles on the steam.db so that us peasants can only see the public updates
Steam.db had no choice in that I query the steam API directly and it only shows public info, it used to show all locked depots

Steam.db is independent of steam, they get all there info for there website from querying the steam api

Frame gen can cause that error, that's normally a DirectX/GPU related error

DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG is fairly common. there's some registry tweaks you can do (google the error & ark), that made it better for me. My card's not frame gen capable so i didn't get all the errors people were slammed with when astraeos was released.
So before ASA came out, wildcard mentioned that the mutation cap was gonna be an option to be set on unofficial. Has anyone found that ini yet?

Those lines are already in the default Nitrado ini configs. You will need to do a thorough search for them in there and edit them.
any setting that doesnt have a line in the ini , or has a line that has a value not recognised, the server will just default to stock value

we run 5x on taming which works out pretty well. I lived thru the early days on ASE and never want to have to tag team tame stuff again
theres no such thing tbh, everyone has there own prefernces, best advice i can give if you after breeding an maturing rates, get the ark beacon app/program
i like high taming and breeding but low xp an harvesting lol , its just what works for me an my group that played
if you have rafts, platform saddled tames or titans, they count differently. For example a platform saddled bronto counts as 10 dinos in the dino counter.
I tried that app. but it always showed me that its not working right and then it linked me to the server status website. on there it says, everythings up and running.. thats why im asking here. its mostly for the taming and breeding/imprinting. i can set the xp and harvesting by myself
I am not at home, but that may be one where you use .2 instead of 5 because it will take 1/5 of the time
breeding imprinitng you wont get better than beacon, it litterally shows every value an every dino , so u can see the effecyt it has each time make a change

I dont even try to configure breeding without Beacon. Dont even get me started on configuring the day/night cycles lol.

Im sure the Beacon discord is familiar with whatever error you are getting. Outside of Chromebooks, the app runs on anything.

Since you did already get an answer for your other issue, please join the beacon discord and share your issue with them, they're very helpful and prefer being notified about possible app problems like yours
hello everyone i asked about missions a few days ago and couldnt find the fix but i got it now if you cant start missions in gen2 in your non-dedicated server you can type bDisableGenesisMissions=False in game files to fix it

fyi, this did fix the maeguana saddle issue too. players can learn the engram now... so, to sum up. If your Unofficial Astraeos server wont fully start, and/or your player base is unable to learn the maeguana engram on your other servers, you probably have corrupt PAK files in your install. Nuke them from orbit. Re-download & you should be good.

I am having this issue with all my server maps. After the 61.63 server update they refuse to reach broadcast. Just idle at ticking loop and the other end seems to just not respond.
I have tried Center, Scorched, Island, and even a vanilla Extinction with no mods at all.
Servers are fine if brought up without patching, but once they are 61.63 they just sit.
Mine just wouldn’t start. I had to blow away my saves. Fortunately nobody had been on it yet.

and we have all seven servers sharing the same folder for several months now (using symlinks), so "bad server data" is out of the question, as other six maps work just fine

The static IP shouldn't be the reason they can't connect in the meantime though right? I have the port forwarding set up on the router as well as the server itself so I'm at a loss why players can't get on
Mine are all separate. Definitely not data corruption on all servers at the same time.
No wont affect connecting having dynamic, check your firewall applications and you have allowed ArkAscendedServer.exe

Everything was fine until I patched. Running servers up with older versions worked fine... but patching broke them each and every one.

i have the problem too. i assume the servers you see are hosted via linux. a colleague of mine hosts with linux and his servers boot up without any problems
That don't make much sense with ASA, it don't have Linux binaries, so even hosting with Linux it's using the windows binaries with either proton or wine

Windows Server sometime has issues with curseforge and that will stop your server starting up.

Update your certificates. I don’t know how because I run my servers on Windows 11 Pro which does not have this issue.
Windows Server is intended for the workplace where people wish to have more control over the installed certificates.
Mods load without problems. Clean server starts without problems. Problems with existing map saves
I think the problem is only related to v61.63. I have a v61.29 test server, it works fine.

I know the wiki has links to the ones you need for EOS with windows server edition, it was also an issue with ASE if you wanted to cross play epic and steam 😂

I have ActiveMapMod=0 in each of my ini files. I delete it and the servers run... my first server tool set it up that way and I just took over this line to all my servers and never paid attention to it.
For me it could of been left over from ASE, I copied a lot of my ASE settings over to ASA 😂
on the bright side, this issue seems didn't broke the save file...
I'm currently going through my servers. Everything seems to be fine.

Still suffering from one friend on PC struggling to join my dedicated pc. Me and all others can join, even cross-platform. But one friend can't. I've set up everything correctly. His firewall is also configured. It sometimes works, he joins, empty inventory, gets disconnected. And sometimes it works like it should. And sometimes he gets a timeout connection. So I know it's network related. I've set up my firewall correctly, so incoming and outgoing requests for port 7777 and 7778 are allowed with both UDP and TCP.
He has tried reinstalling, rescanning, restarting network and even messing with network settings. But basically nothing works. Yesterday he just messed around with the ethernet connected to his pc and it eventually worked.
He's on the microsoft store version of ASA btw
What does the server log say? Connection time out?
Might be related with the outage recently of the xbox servers
It logs an incoming request from his ip (first line), then joins the server (second line, only visible from the console and not visible for him), and then half a minute later it just says "xxx has left this ark" (third line)
So it somehow does connect to my server but he just gets timed out.
Btw my ip is always static on that pc. Might be worth mentioning

Hi, I have a problem with the player speed settings. I can't increase the player speed. The player speed doesn't appear. Can anyone help me?
Player movement speed is disabled by default in ASA. You need to enable it via .ini. Maybe server/SP settings has a place to enable it there too, but idr.
In GameUserSettings.ini under the [ServerSettings] header put:
bAllowSpeedLeveling=True (for player/non-flyer creature speed leveling)
bAllowFlyerSpeedLeveling=True (for flyer speed leveling)

No if one is a game host, for transfers to work both servers need to be able to read and write data to a shared folder
For me with my max level (outside of creature exceptions that go higher), my cap is set to a max lvl 180.

Hi, is there any way to get other player's OSS ID? I have friend i wanna transfer his save from singleplayer, but i need to rename the LocalPlayer to his OSS ID which i dont know.
I know there is command for it but he is pretty new and teaching him how to enable console, bind the console enter the commands etc would be pretty hard, he is older lol.
So i need some way to find his OSS ID without him, so i can move it for him to our server.

Somehow, find your way to Nitrado's support page and search for How To Transfer Saves Between Ark Survival Ascended Servers
You should find instructions there on how to make a local backup of your ark server.

So with this latest update "fixed an issue where running an astraeos mod server would instead host the dlc map" does that mean I no longer need to/shouldn't have the mod id in my mods list for the server? Do I need the astraeos mod id or can I just run it like center?

is there a way to disable voice chat across the entire server. Players are reporting that everytime they hear someone speak the server crash.

If you are on Evolved, you must download the Nitrado app from the Microsoft store in order to rent a Win10/Xbox server.
Hmm not sure then, when i had to do this for my friend I just gave them admin for like 5mins so that they could sort themselves out with the usual commands

On Ascended, mods for Nitrado are added through the web browser or the app. Settings>Curseforge Mods

I've had that happen with a corrupted map file
Could be the application files are corrupted, i'd make a backup of your config and savedarks directory then do a fresh install of your server, then if that fresh instance works copy across your backup files
If that doesn't work then it might be a hardware issue, but hopefully it's just ark being broken

Hello I'm having my own issue that seems to vary some on occasion occasionally i get a ERROR Code "Unhandled Exception: 0x00008000" but most of the time its just this it will happen as soon as i start a single player game. anyone have any clue whats going on here?

If it's starting as soon as you start your SP world, it might be a world corruption of some sort if its an existing SP save/world state.
If it's a brand new SP instance, idk.
Maybe system went over memory limit spawning in the world since it sometimes varies
this suggestion from earlier today fixed all of my dedicated servers. Remove ActiveMapMod=0 from GameUserSettings.ini
It happens after 120 seconds of spawning into a new world

Idk then. Could be an issue specific to your hardware/etc, which is different for every user.
If WC's error/crash reports actually shed any light on what went wrong it'd help in determining a lot of what went wrong, but they're usually super unhelpful in that regard due to their formatting.
btw guys, does anyone know why the egg hatching, wanting to care, and maturing timer still takes a long time even though the multiplier is set to 20x, an example is a raptor egg still takes 2 hours to hatch 😔

Most likely it's just WC being terrible at game coding, though. Maybe also UE5 issues/errors because we're still stuck on earlier UE5 versions because WC keeps delaying the UE 5.4 5.5 updated/upgraded engine.
Outside of using Windows Update to check your windows drivers and your gpu's website for latest drivers on your gpu, not much you can do otherwise usually.

Went with an all Gigabyte build and I almost regret admitting it's been a nightmare to get technical help through them
Ab's creature spawns have been broken since close to launch (last year in... September?) and still not fixed, so yeah. And even recently WC somehow made the issue even worse to the point the map is unplayable in SP and nothing spawns at all.
On servers it's the "old" issue of "only" 50-60% of the entire map having creatures spawn across it.
Well, customer support is always hit or miss regardless of who it is these days

I just updated to the latest ASA patch and now when bringing up the servers it's stuck on Number of Cores... Anyone have that issue or know how to fix it? (PC Server) Was working fine before I updated it.

Hi there, i got a problem on my dedicated scorched earth server.
Every deathworm or alpha deathworm despawn instantly when we arrive on the render distance.
I tried to
Increase server render distance from 2 to 8 and it doesn't solve the problem
Now i want to reduce the spawn of deatgworm and alpha deatworm cause, when they'r just a few on the map they don't disapear.
