They recommend an 3080 but you neet atleast an 1080 so youre probably gonna get around 90 fps on medium settings or so and around 50-60 on max drom what im getting out of the steam page and google. Ofcourse this depends where you are on the map and if you dont live next to an big base with alot of dinos this will dramatically affect your fps 😀 also it will probably release on the xbox game pass but not directly

we dont know what the minimum settings are, they could be ablsolute bottom of the barrel settings with 15 fps or low 60. same goes for the recomended. Just hope they left some wiggle room for those that are slightly below the listed minimum specs

Binary Cook is an unreal engine term for compling the game into its final form. This means they were still doing last minute tweaks right up to the wire which doesn't sit well with me from a quality aspect. The binary should have been ready to go prior to annoucing it would be released today.

Framegen is currently broken/Glitchy as the Axe when held and moved around when just standing, parts of it will disappear or if in third person some of you hair glitches/disappears and looks like it flys everywhere sometimes its really weird, this Performance I believe is fixable though when The Isle moved from UE4 to UE5 it actually saw an improvement to performance. So we'll have to talk to the devs about performance improvements

yeah but as i just mentioned this is all early game experience with not much to render outside of the raw map itself. we all know how ark gets a few weeks or months in, throw in some mega bases and a few thousand dinos, turret towers ect. and then the real problem begins. but yeah only last gen being "decent" enough to run it atm is nuts, my card (6950XT) is literally the AMD equivalent to a 3090, and i dont get DLSS/future frame gen to fall back on for help.

Cause Ark2 will be very different from ASE/ASA regarding WC. Ark 2 will be a souls-like experience, third person only, to name only one difference. WC even stated that a lot of people who like ASE/ASA might not like Ark2 for its changes.

My opinion is 7/10, I’m replacing ASE with it for sure. I believe it will improve in the coming days. Best graphics, looks stunning, but creatures need a Tlc to get new models. Worse is performance. I have a 4090 so it’s fine, but most people will struggle.

Oh absolutely to be expected. I wasn’t there for first launch but was there for relaunch on switch. It took some time and there’s chaos with every map release but they do iron them out pretty swiftly lol. I'm running graphics well below minimum requirements and the game is running well enough to play on low settings. It's not perfect by any stretch, but certainly playable. Frame gen was an utter mess on ASA, after tweeking the graphics for ages to see if it fixed the visual water bug and lighting and shadows i finally found out what was the issue- FRAME GEN. Disable frame gen and the visuals look much nicer and it eliminated a lot of artefacts on shadows/light and water

my 3060 wont perform at 100% usage at all on all epic settings its sits at 40% usage and for some reason seems to be capped at 15fps it will just steady stay 15fps no matter what i do, I dont have it capped and have tried capping the framerate at different frames but no change, but it wont up the gpu or cpu usage when i change graphic settings very weird i have 32gb of ram and a 5700g that has never bottlenecked on any game im just very lost as to what could be the problem. ive tryed all low setting with everything off and only get 40fps max but the usage still doesnt change it never goes to full usage

"still on schedule" is about 7 delays with studio wildcard. 1 more 4 month delay, 3 multi day delays, and a few hourly delays on launch. All things considered, I think they actually did a really good job with ASA compared to all past releases. They actually released on the day that it was announced to release (depending on what time zone you live in), the game launched with some bugs but probably less than ASE still has even to this day, and (at least for me) the game runs better with an improved graphical fidelity. My settings may have gone from high/epic to low/medium but the game still looks quite a bit better. I really think that wildcard has what it takes to pull off Ark 2.

I mean, ASA's rough launch was pretty much because people had unrealistic expectations, like running ASA in EPIC @4k with a 3080. Yeah it's a good GPU, but it's not the best anymore. I know people playing it with an RX570 and they are enjoying it.

Only thing I think it's really WC's fault is the server side of things. It's too unstable right. Beyond reasonable IMO.

Edit: besides all the hate, they are setting record after record of concurrent online players. Also the SteamDB is already mixed, more positive rates than negative.

Seeing as I’m a few hours late feel free to ignore - not gonna speak to your opinion (because that’s something you own and are entitled to), but I do want to help answer the question of “why souls like”. The reason appears to be that WC sees an ark game as one that centers around surviving, taming, and exploring/interacting with the word in a sandbox setting. They don’t see breeding/sim mechanics as core to what ark “is”, which makes sense given breeding wasn’t in initial ark and isn’t really ever referenced in promotional materials for either ark game. Knowing what the core of “an ark game” is I think really helps illuminate why WC is exploring new ways to share that experience with players who like ASE (ASA) and players who want a unique and different experience with new mechanics and systems (ark 2).

I wouldn't want to overly focus on the breeding aspect anyway. It's the whole idea of Ark as a whole that I find isn't compatible with "souls like" games. Though I was educated in that supposedly Ark 2 will remain a PvP and PvE oriented game, so what's left to hope is that it will retain more of the soul of ASE and ASA rather than a Dark/Demon Souls/Eldenring. Because my fear is that it will turn from a Dino sim/grinding/farming/survival experience into some kind of ARPG that's more Eldenring with Dinos and only gets called survival because it has a thirst meter. That opinion stemming mostly from the fact that I don't see space/reason for "souls like combat" in traditional ark without it becoming, well, a souls game. Combined with the fact that I don't like souls likes - I prefer, well, Ark.

I hope that made my point a little clearer. It's not about breeding, or items, it's about a perceived fundamental incompatibility that I think will lead to ark 2 being a vastly different game - and of course me hoping for a new ark instead of Eldenring with dinos

Ark 2 will be released for consoles next year just watch they always delay everything just like they delayed the first ark so many times. It’s actually crazy how bad this company is but since they’re close bankruptcy they don’t want to disclose a set date in case they delay so they won’t upset their investors

Ark 2's current target for PC and Xbox series x/s is end of 2024, Ark Ascended console launch is currently set for november (probably due to console certification). so if Ark 2 isn't pushed back again then yes, Ark 2 will be released for pc and xbox consoles next year
