I started having an issue with cryopoded dinos also. Some I can unpod, some I can't cause the game crashes as soon as I throw it. Thought could be saddle related, but tested with a saddled petera and worked fine. Thought it could be pods from hotbar, but tested with pods on fridge and still had the same issue. I have a 4060 ProArt (OCs to about 3ghz and 10ghz on ram. I get 50-80, but the minute I start moving around away from the base I get a drop. Seems to be more severe on Astraeos. I think its the VRAM buffer overflowing into system ram.

That is not a real fps drop I think, despite some patches that state otherwise there is ALWAYS a frame generation running in the background, even if you disable it in the settings. You need console commands to disable it fully. And for some reason, that frame generation stops when you open the inventory, menu or other containers.
So if for example you have set an fps limit, it will render the game at that limit but half of that fps limit will be fake frames. Which can often lead to really noticeable drops when you cap your fps at like 30/60 etc as the inventory fps will be half that. Been like That for some months now

Yea but Steam ingame will show the generated fps, also the amd overlay will do the same sadly.
The only way I figured out was by setting a low limit like 50 fps and watch the fps counter drop to half of that when ever inside inventories, it’s the only reliable way to tell if on or not which I could come up with

Yea it makes sense, what doenst is, that, despite even pink WC devs answering me directly and like 2 updates where it was announced, the ingame setting to disable it won’t do anything or doesn’t even show for cards other than NVIDIA. So I’m wondering if it disabling in inventories was intentional. Since, if true, they can disable it automatically by using some ingame measure, however they’re unable to implement a setting that does the same thing more or less and ppl have to resort to commands

In any case this is just one of the many things that directly show to me that they got no clue what their code does or why it does things many times

One of my tribemates has made a fresh install of ark with steam and was able to install all mods that we use on our unofficial server except for 2 mods. When we try to install one of the missing mods via the mod list in the game it shows that the mod will be installed. When the progress bar has reached 100% it jumps back and show's only the button install. The mod doesn't appear in the list or sometimes after he tries to join the server the mod shows broken file. The installation of this mod works for everyone else in the tribe without issues. Does anyone have an idea what could cause this behavior?

So, im on ASE and had to format my pc, and before that i saved my game's original .ini file, and even after tweaking everything to transfer my previous configs to the game and swapping the user settings of the base game with my stored file, there's two things i didnt manage to reconfigure even when they r correct in the note block, that being my difficulty level (its not mispelled or anything in the menu, i've checked) since i play on diff 10 and some dinos r spawning with weird levels (135, 145, 95, the works) when it should be a full 10 levels interval - and also my structure pickup timer (the code line is still in the note block under server settings, as it was before, and it checks true - AlwaysAllowStructurePickup=True) i do have the s+ mod installed, but idk if its related, since i did have it before and it always worked ever since i put up the code line; is there anything i can do to figure out how to fix this?

I used to get mutations after around 50 or so eggs. They weren't always useful mutations, but they were mutations none the less. Hatching thousands of eggs just to get a food mutation sounds like things aren't quite working as they were prior to 5.5. At least that's my read on things. Thanks for the update.

Singleplayer by default has more engram points than servers, the option "Singleplayer Settings" does not change engram point amounts. Probably not every single engram, but you should have plenty

You need to use the mod custom dino levels to be able to control the min/ max levels, setting difficulty wont stop low levels, either that or you just keep killing the low levels until higher spawn

Yeah tried that already, same issue with both and everything turned off. I even tried switching from DLSS to Unreal, Disabling Frame Gen, and tried older graphics drivers and even more settings. Still no dice with anything, Every map does the same thing as well, ASA is not playable for longer than 10-15 minutes. Only resolution is to logout/login that I’ve found.

Yeah, for me personally, only being able to play for 10-15 minutes just makes the game unplayable even to the point I had some difficulty just staying in to refresh structures.

Yeah, I’ve also heard a lot of people having the same FPS drop issue so you’d think someone would’ve found a workaround if one was possible by now. I guess all we can do is wait on WC to fix their game again.

WC hasn’t said anything on the FPS drop issue though like they did about the console mod issue. So hopefully they are very well aware and have it queued up for fixing.

I deleted the most recent Nvidia driver and installed the one from December. SO FAR that seems to have helped. I can run all the way up to 90fps. It has dropped down to 6fps once BUT it came back up to 60fps on it's own within maybe 30 seconds instead of having to completely exit to the menu and going back in.

Ive had this too, mostly for maps tho. Youll have to uninstall the mod then leave the game then validate your files through steam<ark<properties<installed files. Hit the gear archon on the ark page in your steam library to find it. Once its been validated then follow the steps I gave you to stay in the mod page until the mod is fully installed again

Since the Unreal Engine update, is anyone else seeing foliage inside their bases that shouldn't be there? It's not harvestable or removable — just visually stuck where it shouldn’t spawn.
Also, I haven’t noticed any real graphic improvement after the update — maybe it’ll come later, but for now, nothing changed.
And most importantly: am I the only one who can’t get the Imprint Cake Slice to work? I did everything right — it’s my dino, not 100% imprinted, using the correct cake, but I can’t make it consume it.

On single player some Dino’s take longer to spawn it. You may have to hang out in those areas first a while. An hour. To see them spawn in. I would eliminate any Dino’s in those areas to increase the chance of a Rex spawning in while you wait. This is a big downside to single player.

Restart PC then game and it will reset all the file settings with a new code.
The current one you have has leftover code from the previous version that doesn’t have compatible settings with 5.5.

This may not work for everyone but has helped me be able to play again. There is still FPS drop here and there for a few seconds but it’s a game wide thing and not nearly as bad as getting 4FPS.

I play single player and have a little problem. So. After the update the game decided to unlock all engrams, and put all the cosmetics in the crafting thingie. Now the game decided that it was wrong to unlock all, so it locked all ammo, potions and narcotics. It makes it a bit difficult to do much taming and i can't mindwipe because it is locked and no points to unlock anything. What do i do?

i was playing asa the island. Everything was working fine.

Then i tried a new server in our cluster for the first time. I went to obelisk, swapped server to Asteros server, and it started downloading somthing in game, and i crashed. When i went back to server page i only get around 60 servers showing up. and not the ones i play on. So my server cluster is gone.

i tried uninstalling and reinstalling. And same problem is there.

im running Ryzen 7 7700x with rtx 3070ti 32GB Ram 5600mhz yesterday i did DDU and was going back to 566.36 + deleted my GUS.ini + deleted all my safefiles + tested all differend modes like DLSS quality - ultraperf. + reinstalled the whole game several times

i have rolled the nvidia driver back to 560.94 as someone with a 40 series found that helped them gain a bit of fps back but i am still struggling to use anything more than 1080p on low settings most of the time, it will sometimes run 2k res for a while if i am full screened then the fps bombs top about 5 fps again

Since update if I’m within render of large builds, sitting around 5-15 and some people aren’t even hitting the 15
But once away from buildings it’s back up to better fps
Seems commands make it even worse when rendering, but normal away

I can tell you this much about what i have noticed. I will be 80 percent usage 60 ish fps then randomly my gpu spikes to 100 usage 5 fpd. I thought eas cosmetics soi removed them. Grass also does not seem to render in then suddenly it will I wouldsend screenshots as well but i am stuck with the you need to install this map loop even though pcgamepass says its installed.

you can fix the fps bug by switching from window to full screen or full screen to windowed and such, swapping between the window modes and it temp fixes it for up to 10 mins before it begins again

just to help you potentially diagnose the issue further

reliably fixes it temporarily for me 100% of the time ^

Hi, is it a known issue that edmontonia mod is causing a failure to load content and it’s not working for people to purchase? We’ve had a few people on our cluster have this; they never had the mod before but they cannot seem to get it validated. I was able to do so without issue but I had the mod prior to the update. Me and my friend just started a non dedicated server on ASE together and have max difficulty ticked and the difficulty slider at 1 but the levels r still in 2 level intervals. We double checked the settings and did a Dino wipe twice. Anyone know something we may have missed?
