Yea if you check dododex it'll tell you exactly how many hits you need with what weapon %, also tell you chance of killing it (which happens easily with some dinos when weapon does more damage than torpor)

not sure what you are using to do backups, but it is broken. always do your own manual backups fully under your control. if you are using nitrado, i recommend not, they are a scam

it does not break any laws, and you have tons of other options. EU does not lack for cloud server hosts, tons of datacenters in germany, france, a few othee countries

2 years ago people made you (wildcard!) aware of a critical bug that NOW killed hundreds of my cryoed dinos INSIDE the cryofridge in ASA!!!! And its still not fixed !!!

"Do note that you should always get power running to a cryofridge before you open it. There is a bug with opening unpowered cryofridges that can cause the game to miscalculate the charge left on the cryopods, causing them to be dead, but they will be fine if you power fridge up first."

So I got an issue.
I had installed Ark on this new PC, started it up, worked fine.
Uninstalled for like a week, reinstalled it today, but now it won't start.

I hear the starting sound for like 1-2 seconds and it instantly crashes.
I don't see the splash screen or anything.
Verified files already.
I'm on Windows 11. No other game does this and, like I said, it was working fine on the same PC a week ago, no changes made since then.

This is for Evolved, not Ascended.
No crash log or w/e either.

Fresh install did nothing either.

alr so i just tamed a giga level 190 with the extra levels from taming effectiveness. when i try to level up a stat. it barely increases it. for example it has 431 stamina and when i level up stamina once it goes to like 433 and only increases a tiny bit. this is for every stat. is this a glitch or intended. also the xp bar for the giga says it needs roughly 2k xp but it has 1.9k stored up and the bar is only half way filled.

RNG can do that. if its the same chances as ASE (Which I assume they are)
its a 1/6 chance for dinos that get a mutation for it to be in the right stat, and 55% chance for the mutation stat to pass down. with each mutation being a 7%~ chance. it can go hundreds of eggs to get it. 5k eggs is definitely over odds but over odds doesn't mean guaranteed.

and if you are doing 2 different stats in one line then it goes even more then that. should keep different stats separate

What matters is not the color, but the armor value: the higher the better. You could also swap out one daeodon for Germano Mosconi, to give you some bestemmie as encouragement.
Other than that is this single player or with a tribe? If so how many players will be in the fight?
Single player bosses take way more damage, if this is on a server you will inevitably lose many megatheriums with this setup, but you might beat it.

I would always go rexes over megatheriums if you already have a boss ready squad

dinos get a lot of passive xp in cryopods. Generally its a good idea to cryopod a fresh adult you raised or one you just tamed and leave in a pod for 4-24hours. That will get them more lvls than anything you can do in game, besides killing wyverns, or killing the spiders in brood mother boss fight(in asa)

if you get a good asc one in a drop, they give quite a bit of resources and organic poly that you can use in crafting

we keep a vault of the fab pistols/assault rifles/sniper rifles/electric prods next to our grinder. To repair our ghillie or when we do a big craft of tek stuff, we just grind the stuff instead of getting org poly another way

Yep screwed me too, I'm a consistent player but I don't get on the game every day. Yesterday evening I cryo'd up the baby wyverns I was raising, quick metal run and an alpha manticore. Jump on this morning to top up troughs and everything is undone. All those wyverns bar one had starved. A round of pyro breeding lost because the rollback put them back to before I picked ul the male, so they were all on breeding but obviously I missed the babies.

thats because 270% is barely any my crafter on asa is 142 and it has around 1400 crafting skill ish

its not, there is a bug where it resets some of your explorer notes though

I see I misunderstood the 170 is your level. So I am guessing you are using the mindwipe trick to pull this off and that you don't leave all of your points in crafting. In either regard it does still speak that this system is really only for very late game and mindwipe tricks. 😦 That was my original question. Appreciate the clarification.

you can do it with level 100 it just will be less effective and i am using a different steam account for it specifically for crafting so i am not using the mindwipe trick
