I myself need more social things to do. I'm at the point I usually don't buy ts because I have them, so my usual points of spending are events, and friends. So if they added social ways to gain candles, that'd be much more fun than the usual daily candle grind. What if they gave little rewards for playing hide and seek? Or maybe add tag and give little candle rewards.

I absolutely think they listen to feedback to some extent, but lots of features have been slipping through despite immense community backlash; my main issue being the afk-timer and the heart gifting. for seasonal and aesthetic content they absolutely listen but I also feel like some stuff is just "above" feedback in a sense

For this reason I bought the tea set during Days of Bloom. The whole event felt more like a moment to share with friends. You could hang out under the tree and chat or make new friends. The tea set is literally inviting because of the ceremony aspect of it.
We need more events like this.
The Rainbow event was such a miss in that sense. Expensive cosmetics but for what? Nothing fun to do with friends.

For one side I understand that Sky wants to stay
A. Friendly to all types of public, so they don't want to go too complicated
B. Selling, because they gotta live for something

However, they need to acknowledge than further than cosmetics, people need new stuff to do. I love hanging out in Sanctuary, Treehouse and Wind Paths, but there's not so much to do, so if I don't have time, I'll pick CR above the others becquse I'm broke for candle packs

Bloom also didn't have the afk timer yet. I liked that because maybe a lot of players afked under the tree, but many friends actually piled together to cuddle. Adding onto other areas would be amazing, such as livelier things in Sanctuary ocean floor, but also things to do underwater. It's a very requested mechanic, I hope it's not just for this season, which some people may skip because it's scary

Personally, I find it very cozy, so it will do well with warm and fluffy capes in my opinion. Still gotta test it in live to be absolutely sure, but I'm looking forward to it

Much less difficult than trying to match Flight pants. For me, mixing and matching with the Abyss pants has been more about if I want chonkier legs or not (as opossed to the color pallette). That, and if the longer capes will clip on said chonk. I'm a huge fan of brown and earth tones so they are quite welcome for me.

Ok when I was by the gates at the forest going in I did saw some boats there pretty sad that it’s not being used

Honestly I think the map feels a bit.... Strange
I think it's slightly hinted that this is like, a sunken (if only slightly) "city", yet the change from the open water area to the deep waters is a bit.... Abrupt. The more natural formations and terrain just abruptly ends at the deep end part. Yes there are a few plants but the terrain looks like it was fresh underwater. It may be cracked in places, but it doesn't feel.... Worn down enough. Now they did a good job making the top parts in the shallow region worn down, but the deeper you go it just feels... Untouched. Not to mention honestly the only explorable part of the deep end is basically entering the tower with the cage, and the empty tower exterior (the area the krill patrols outside)
Even past the doors there really isn't much either
Can't help but feel that the maps a bit...

But the towers seem to convey.... A different story.

Ah, recharging each other underwater is still very inconvenient and not because of the mechanism, but the priority of layers in game: Translator arrow, chat history, friendship menu opens up, seconds and breath fly by and I still can't deep call to recharge my friend (I can small or mid call only from the emote menu so that's not an option either) who is holding my hand and leading. Not being able to deep call is inconvenient and dangerous to wings whereas it's an essential function in order to survive in the deep.

• they are not as finished/detailed as a tortoise or manta

I’m still trying to memorize it since it keeps on changing, but it’s not too hard, just trying to find marks around and use every reconnaissable spot around the area to know where I’m going

You may try to memorize them starting with only small areas diving straight downwards from air so you can place them in your head roughly where they are. Then you can navigate between the memorized areas keeping in mind where you are as if you were viewed from the surface.

At this point I really like how Sky kids move through the water and think the diving and kicking movements are really polished. I like the plants, I like how the clams look, and I cannot stress enough how much better the fish honking is now that they honk less often and only once to a few times per school.

On the other hand, I really want to see a number of things come back in some capacity. I want to see the old boat, the turtle, the starfish and coral, and the really neat blinking fish that look like the emoji in this server

That said, since we know the turtle, starfish, coral, and fish models exist, I think it would be neat if there was a small, hidden coral reef complete with all of these elements

I do recognize that, even though those things exist, it would still be a lot of work to put together

But it would be cool nonetheless

It’s hard to design a rebreather mask that looks unique, since throughout history they mostly follow the same basic concepts. Also hard to design a mask that looks like it would function underwater, but doesn’t look somewhat scary, with tubes or appendages sticking out of it.

I was reading about the history of diving and found an image of an 1805 concept for a diving mask and helmet that worked with a bellows, called The Triton. It had a crown and a face mask, with thin metal tubing connected to a metal bellows worn on the back. Super interesting looking!

I wonder if changing the terminology from "ultimate" gift to something else might help clear up the misconceptions there. From most other games, "ultimate" usually makes me think that something about the equipment is meant to be better than the rest, in the same vein as "ultimate weapons" usually being the best available gear in any RPG. I don't feel like I'd get that same impression as strongly if they were simply named something like the "Guide's Gifts" or something that was less focused on the idea of "final" or "last".

Extra oxygen time was noted to be 10 seconds, which is apparently the same as the previous version of the mask. I'm not aware of any bugs/issues with the mask's functionality, nor am I aware of whether it clips significantly with any specific hairs/hats.

i didnt know about nausicaa so to me when i look at both designs i just think "this thing helps in breathing underwater" the last design more than the recent one. i wonder if there's a balance between making it look like what it is + an appealing design

It's also an entirely valid thought process and feedback for someone based their AP purchasing decision on one specific ult or cosmetic. Aside from the seasonal pendant/scarf itself, the only thing that really caught my attention from Assembly was the bugle (still not sure I like that it's such an exclusive item, but that's outside the scope of this discussion)

My only issue with the two breathing masks: The ult one can be acquired day 1 if someone spent enough money, whilst other players who don't buy out the season day one have to wait until near the end of the season for the game's intended SC collection for the ult with an AP or wait until finishing the final quest for an item which would help immensely in the seasonal quests. This heavily favors p2w

I think a happy medium would be to gift a spell of the masks when you accept each quest as sort of a preview of what the mask does and also bridge the gap between f2p and p2w.

Another reason why I think ults are becoming more and more normal, is they are just putting all the unique ideas only on IAP (crystal snow ball, pumpkin, Gondola, tea set etc.)

As a beta player that owns the ultimate mask and never use it, I can confirm that not wearing it is completely ok, and you can still play normally, get everything you need, complete all the quests etc

I’ve never, not a single time wore the ultimate gift, there are enough plants and bubbles around to recharge and not die

Though I do agree that having a “bad looking” ultimate gift is kind of sad because the effort you put into gathering enough seasonal candles every day and the money you spent on the ap aren’t really worth the cosmetics (even tho that’s a personal opinion, and a lot of people actually like this season cosmetics)

Personally, I think it'd be much more worth it if it gave a lot longer breathing time. Otherwise, you don't really even need this mask at all. I usually use it to give myself a bit more breath when I'm doing some oob or exploring. But during the main quests, theres enough plants to keep your oxygen replenished

Agreed, if it was doubling the amount of time you can spend under water, it would be worth it for those who likes exploring oobs and have fun without having to lose wl. So far I lost around 10 wl from exploring too far not wearing the mask so it’s just my bad lol

Although we still don't know what the f2p version will do, if it will even have a breathing time extension bonus, but yeah. That's why the ult mask doesn't really help that much

While I get Ktjn's point, it is frustrating because as a player of nearly 2 years, I was under the impression the intention of the word ult was "being the best or most extreme example of its kind." I feel like it's safe to say that ults are made to be some of the best items of the season and are often extravagant and detailed. I do however see this definition changing, which to me at least is disappointing. I've only bought 2 APs and that's because I was in love with the ults tbh.

I know there is the bonfire ult, but that season came out like 2 years ago which is plenty of time for their perspective to have shifted since then

Agreeing with Cy here, the events before used to not have igc items. It was all iap stuff. So I'm glad they have worked to make more stuff accessible to f2p during events. I even like a lot of the f2p stuff over the iaps

I completely agree, but I'm more frustrated with devs brushing us off kind of with this like "oh they always say that." But it's like, live players would've been upset if the flight feathers were in their initial state or if cheese cape stayed.

Yeah, since now diving is a part of the game, I feel like adding more areas to explore with this functionality would be a plus. Since the only area you can explore with this diving function so far is only Abyss. Area that contain a lot of water to dive in aren’t interesting to see with this feature

I don't know if cheese cape is a great example, because I think that one was always a placeholder that they were going to change, at least that's what they said. Assembly came out very early for testing so a lot of it was in a bad state when we first saw it because it wasn't finished. But I see what you're saying I guess

Completely agreeing on that one, making good looking iap is cool, but it costs way more than a single ap, and if the ap doesn’t have much interesting looking stuff, it makes iap and ap not equal.
Unfortunately, they are adding a lot more of iaps cosmetics each event, and it’s becoming very expensive if you want to get it all while the ap can’t compete with the good looking iaps. Personal opinion tho. But ap cosmetics needs more attention.

Mermaid themed cosmetics wouldn't really fit into the aesthetic the season is giving off so you'll prolly get those cosmetics as IAPs sooner or later bc of the new diving mechanic

Let's not forget Days of Bloom. It was such a nice balance with IAP stuff and IGC items. Actually the Bloom cosmetics are ones of the best in Sky and very reasonably priced.
