first mask - it doesn't really stand out in comparison to the other masks, but that's just my opinion.
hair braid - I think it's pretty flexible with other cosmetics as long as they don't change the band to the usual cyan-teal (please don't)
cape - it's awesome! love that the wedges are the abyss symbol.
second mask - talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before...

overall, I love the ults

Either have an alternative everyone can get (think of vs Laidback Pioneer's umbrella) or have it like an assembly prop / swordspant: available for everyone but at a price (of hearts/candles)

maybe make the ultimate mask's extra stamina longer and give a free spirit mask the same ability but shorter? nope that wouldn't be right because no one would really pay for adventure pass if a free mask had the extra stamina aswell

Yeah i agree, The ult has function but it doesn't give too big of a rift from the AP owners and non AP buyers. Only the shape is very unique, that's all that makes it more special

Taking my cue from zelda when you get underwater armor. The respirator should give you much better underwater stamina that lasts up 20 to 30 minutes so you can actually do a "candle run" while submerged

Well it is an ultimate gift and it would be pretty rewarding for those who do complete the adventure pass and bought it to have such a mask. TGC may release an underwater stamina spell for f2p players in the future.

The new emotes are cosmetics are SO GOOD, I love how fluid the animations are, my favorite emote is probably cackling cannoneer's emote and 'wait' emote (always wanted those two specifically); as far as the cosmetics go, I love every single one, especially braid hairstyle and this gorgeous new cape (I love the long cosmetics like this new cape and leaf cape as well, it looks so cute) 🤧

This outfit basically sums up my favorites and now my reign of chaos will truly begin, thank you, devs

Some waters doesn't have water in Sky. Like in the ice rink.
It's just a top layer you can swim on. This also happens with Sanctuary and Forest's ponds. You can oob and walk under it.

However, waters like the one in Isle and home does have your Skykid swimming if you manage to oob.

So I guess they'd need to add water in the water

Sometimes we also have to put ourselves in the shoes of a complete noob or very casual player. Not a lot of those made it through Prophecy without help. Abyss will similarly introduce very different mechanics.

I've noticed that you can only swim in the direction the camera points and that if you want to change the direction you're swimming in, you need to first stop, then turn the camera, then swim. it's a little clunky and hard to understand when you start off tbh but today the quest felt much easier than the other two, just bc I already got some practice with swimming now

I find that it’s hard to swim up at times without being latched onto the oob
And I don’t feel like they are similar to flying,

Flying controls allow me to control, horizontal and vertical elevation of my character. With my other hand, I can pan the screen for rotating the camera.

Swimming on the other hand, uses forward movement with the movement rocker. But elevation is done with pointing the camera upwards and then moving the control rocker forward.

This is so confusing at times and I keep latching onto oobs. Or when I want to see my surroundings and I accidentally move my skid downwards

Or when I pan my camera upwards but I accidentally swim higher

I just want there to be a different way of controlling elevation other than camera angling.... you don’t fly higher by pointing your camera to the sky....

I always use two handed mode and granted the diving controls took a bit to get used to, but so did flight controls in the beginning - any one handed control wizards out there? what do you think of diving?

I can’t help but feel they should decouple camera angling and swimming elevation, most of the times I give up and just deep honk down. But if you’re not pointing your camera down, deep honk doesn’t move you down either.
I tried this in the krill chamber with birds eye view cause I wanted to see what was happening with the krill in the chamber above me and boom my character rose up instead of down -_-

Speculation :
When we fly we use left stick/control for directions and right button for flapping.

But under water if we translate the exact same controls then it means you use left side control for directions and keep pressing the right control for swimming.
This has 2 issues - 1) you can't expect to keep pressing right control to swim as swimming is a constant and slower process and normally you don't flap and glide under water (although devs can look to replicate that behaviour in some part underwater)
2) flapping is supposed to deplete your wing. If you replace that with continuous swimming then you can't use your wing meter under water at all - which is fine as I wouldn't expect to use it other than for flying.

But looks like devs wanted to use that wing meter somehow and wanted a way to enable moving continuously but with simple controls.

I find it hard to dive straight down, wich is annoying in the krill tower, however I guess we never could dive straight down flying anyway
I do think there should be a faster method for resurfacing, as atm u just switch swim modes, as swiming up in dive mode always puts me on an angle and I like to dive straight back down to where I was looking once I catch my breath

Sky requires a lot of attention to its surroundings, so you’re constantly moving the camera around, that can be an issue when it’s a main control mechanic

Normal situations, the control feels fine and it feels like you’re deep sea diving... but when you want to see your surroundings too, it’s hard to move in the direction you want to go

I do think we can dive straight down when we fly though, we just need to fly up and then use the down rocker to move all the way down, that’s usually how I dive from the boogie spirit’s location to get to prophecy caves in isle

I think the alternative I can suggest is similar to the flying mechanics we have

Use the control rocker for direction and then use the flight level thing to go forward, this gives players more agency on when to go the direction their skid is pointing
And then between the two modes dive or float up can be used to control vertical or horizontal elevation

Also, the flight button (the button we use to fly in flight mode) doesn’t really get used underwater.. since there’s no way to recharge your flight levels… I think it’s best to repurpose this

So I have noticed that each quest opens a barrier, which is cool, but when I leave the seasonal area and then go back the barrier is closed again. Just now i was diving into the deep area where the krill are and trying to reach the jelly fish. Yesturday I was able to pass through, today I couldn't, and naturally lost light cause I was too deep and couldnt reach the surface in time. Has anyone else noticed this, is that normal?

Once you finish the quest you should be able to relive spirits

From experience you can keep going, possibly forever but I havent tried that as I ddint want to lose stars (I'd say there is a bottom, but not one you can reach without losing wl.)
Some have reported crashing when they dive too deep as well

I'd actually disagree about there being a solid bottom most likely, going from what's been observed in live when people attempt to use a piggyback rocket while in water. The ocean probably extends infinitely downwards, just like the sky goes infinitely upwards unless they've made some significant changes

No, the right is used to propel the skid forward. Currently for flight, we have 3 buttons:

1. Direction rocker for going up, down, left, right
2. Right button acts as a turbo in flight mode, it consumes a wing level
3. Toggle switch for glide, flap modes

This could be translated to swimming like:

1. Direction rocker for going up, down, left, right (up down controls elevation)
2. Right button acts as a turbo, faster swimming, it doesn’t consume a wing level or if consumes a wing level, need more charging points underwater
3. Current swimming Toggle switch’s can stay

Instead of using camera angling I meant something like this. Underwater when you use the right button, currently it just pushes you up a bit, but because you don’t really have any charging points under water, it’s really useless. Plus, your skid already moves up awkwardly when you point the camera up. I’d personally rather swim faster and remove the camera angling oriented directioning

Idk I've only noticed that using wingflaps give you quick boosts but there's hardly any places to regain that deep down, I can't express how many times I've gone to the surface then had to painfully slowly swim back to the ship to recharge (only on 4 in beta since I wanted to experience more from a moff standpoint with seasons)
