Unfortunately there are no emotes for this season like Shattering and Revival, since this one's focused on the interior design and furnishing player's own homes in Aviary! Ofc there's still a spirit guide and few of neat cosmetics

After all the emote list is a bit too bloated right now so it's nice to maintain the amount first

After all it's nice that they sometimes try a different format time to time, instead of following the exact same [4-6 spirits + emotes + guides] formula to keep it fresh. We can always look forward to the new emotes in the future seasons!

Hello! I am a live player and I have some questions about the upcoming season. I've tried very hard to find this out through yt videos but it didn't work.

I've heard that, aside from the season spirit trees, there is at least one furniture vendor in beta, possibly two? I gathered there is one with a weekly rotating stock, and possibly one with a much larger permanent stock that costs mostly hearts?

Anyways, does anyone have screenshots of the menu where you buy the furniture/their cost? I know the prices are to-be-determined but I really am curious 😭

The first version cost hearts, the second was combination of hearts, candles and ascended candles, then the third version it became the weekly rotation thing and prices were adjusted.
Beta players are not allowed to make price guides so you won't see that anywhere until it hits live and it's in the game.

There's technically 2 locations for items
1 is the rotating vendor at the counter
The other are on a challenge board as final rewards and they all cost AC

like, you placed a prop. put it away for a while. you put it at the same point, and it... stands differently.
and if you try to place another one on it, then it looks like an exorcism ritual, where the prop is pulled in all directions, and then it magically stands into the place you need (not always)

otherwise it would need a [zone of temporary dressup] like the aviary salon or days of style closet and that seems kind of tedious to set up everywhere in the game wherever the figurine can be placed, including oob and whatnot

the figurine has a button that lets you put on the outfit on it
so say you do an outfit request (my life sometimes) and want to go back to your main fit, normally you'd have to go through every. single. closet. category. but in this case you just hit the button and bam presto you're back to the main fit you put down on the figurine

the mannequin only puts down 4 of the items you have on - cape, neck accessory, hair, and hair accessory
doesn't do anything beyond that

maybe they could consider doing what they did with the bonfire though if enough people felt it was unfair, but to me p2w is like if they locked elder mask shielding behind IAP because that actually affects your abilities within eden (although even then eden is possible without elder masks so how much advantage are they really currently pretends devs didn't say they're still working on eden being more brutal)

One way to determine whether it's p2w in my opinion from the research, if it enhances your progression in the game, then it is p2w. But the figurine is merely a purely cosmetic feature and it doesn't affect how you play the game at all. Does it enhance your looks? Yes. Does it enhance your gameplay ability? No, you just get some cool looks quicker than using the closets, which is something we've been used to for a long time

Pay to win implies winning the game with some extra paid advantage. Does the figurine let you "win" the game? Nah

Let's say the figurine let you wear outfits you don't actually own i.e an older seasons ults from a year before you even started playing Sky... That to me would be p2w. But considering it just lets you wear a preset outfit where you actually have to own everything first, how can anyone think it's p2w? 😕

That's probably a lot of what goes through devs minds when they create features like this, though it's hard cause you can't win at something like sky, but the whole thing around pay to win is about it giving players an advantage in general gameplay that free players will miss out on completely, having a button to quick change one outfit I don't think really falls under that when the ability for regular changing has always been there, but like I said if enough people think it's unfair then they might change things or create other options going forward, but I would honestly prefer something much more impactful than a one-outfit figure if that's the case. Wardrobes need reorganising in general though, for so long they've been muddled, the new categories don't fit everyone's needs, etc. and hopefully that gets addressed soon - same with spells because please, when can we just have options to tailor our menus ourselves

I was playing in beta and thought the new season and the nest would be an amazing place for player who like to open a background view while focusing on their tasks.. but I wish sky would make a timer prop to put it in the nest and when the time is done it gives some wax or something, what do you think?

Like even the background sounds in are calming so you even can bring your “timer prop” to the hidden forest enjoy the rain sounds while studying

I actually really love the idea of a timer, but maybe like a sand timer ⏳ (moreso because it would be adorable and aesthetically pleasing on a shelf in nest tbh). The function you are describing though is something different altogether and unlikely to be given the green light from devs. If the timer prop function were to give wax after (let's just say) every 15 minutes after it was put down, then I fear everyone would unfortunately just abuse it and start becoming AFK candle farmers 😣

If you can only ever place one figurine, and the figurine only stores one combination of cosmetic items at a time, the blog descriptions should be "an outfit" instead of "switch outfits when you're away from your closet", and "outfit" instead of "[Sky kids] can switch their outfits to match".

how the thingo functions:

• it will copy your current skid outfit upon placement and [lock] the appearance
• changing to anything else will not change what the figurine looks like, it's just set that way until you remove and replace it. Deleting and re-placing the item will reset the appearance to what your new look is like
• there is a button to press on it when you walk near that lets you wear what the figurine is dressed as
• it will not copy items you do not own. So if there's yeti goggles on there and you don't own it, it will not overwrite whatever mask accessory you're currently wearing and you keep that on.

oh yeah mai I made use of it while it was funny glitched but I think if you used a chibi spell with a regular mask on then set it down, it will place as a chibi height figure
like as long as it's an attainable skid height (not using the tiny or giant spells) it can work that way, but it wouldn't apply on your skid if you try to copy the fit, but you can at least tailor what the figurine looks like

btw if you use cosmetic spells it also copies onto the figurine, but obviously you can't put it on after hitting the copy outfit button if you don't own the item

Feeling this, this is actually something I can foresee becoming a mass Feedback flood for TGC — I was hoping they would listen to the Beta players, but, your input sounds like it hasn’t.
That said; I can’t help but feel preemptively empathetic and bad for the new, new moths who come into this season via PC, only to be met with “okay! unless you want to dedicate 2 hours of your time daily to collect candles, here’s some IAP options!” Which… I don’t really know…? Considering the amount of Live surveys they published during the Deer season about seasons and if or not people feel compelled to take part or not feels counter productive… Kind of popping themselves in the foot, it feels like?

I already don’t feel compelled to do this season— (and that’s alright by me, I feel like I can finally breathe) — because of the fact its prop related and I have never ever found a good stop to actually utilize them or grow to enjoy them, nor do I really like interior design work … But to those who do, and are new..? Dropping two cents here and I don't think moths will start to be compelled to collect everything right away. I remember being mostly curious about the world and didn't care as much about items. So your assumption of the moth experience may be different as an experienced players from the actual new players.

I hear you and I agree but disagree on some of your points, main one being, I joined in January of 2023, I’m going off my experience as someone whose only played for a year, not longer than that — The first thing I did in sky was make a $20 IAP out of FOMO for the rabbit mask and pants under the impression they would never return (because I was new) …

I am glad to hear that the three little board quests take some time to unlock though. I think I can still hope they lower the prices regardless, I just empathize for the moths who fall under the same FOMO scare and impulse buy IAP for season things like that

I completely agree with you on the fomo, I personally didn't have the fomo impulse (maybe it helped by the fact that I had no idea about how things work™️)

I was amazed with the landscapes and the exploration aspect, and it was after I finished Eden for the first time and spent a few more days in the game that I decided to look into wikis and guides to keep progression going. I learned about things like events, TS, seasonal quests and such down the line (and how expensive items were was not a realization I had until I had spent like 2 months playing the game )

To be fair, I came from Fer.al after it’s sudden closure in 2022, and them refusing to answer QnA or regarding their general bases critical upset reaction for turning around and partaking in NFT’s, so … Yeah, I did throw money at it out of fear it would never return … I want to say quickly that I’m so beyond glad you didn’t have the same moth experience as me, though, however, I was afraid and didn’t understand how their system of season passes worked, as Fer.al had them too and most of the time the cosmetics didn’t return or rotate as I remember.

My moth experience was exploring and doing every single season in tandem, and now, I find my experience with the game as it stands like a waiting room. That’s on me, and I’m well aware of that mistake of rushing it now. I was intrigued by the world and now I feel pressured to hold on to every candle because we can’t guess what the next TS is, or the next event’s cosmetics, etc, and this came on because I see other sky kids use cosmetics as a social status which I got the impression about when I was a moth immediately, like for the Owl hair. Hence, I felt like the only way others would even regard me is if I had cosmetics that would “wow” them. (Funnily enough, got this general understanding of cosmetics from games like Animal Jam as it was a childhood game and people also have that weird cosmetic hierarchy.)

Ultimately, we unfortunately do not have the same experience in the moth hood of the game and that’s okay! But I did want to explain my own to you as you did for me - we just don’t have the same experience as each-other.

Also, the phrasing here seems a little backhanded with your question of “do people just throw their money at anything?” which does upset me a little as you and I are not the same person and you don’t have my experience

If you had experience with something similar then it's not surprising it's different. Sky's approach with eventually returning most of the items is unusually kind in relation to games like that.

In most games that have cosmetics etc there's of course an element of showing off, in sky people are mostly not mean about it I feel, there's enough people who like moths and helping them.
With ts and events, they've been showing off locations of current month's ts making them easily guessable, and new event items are for tickets instead of candles, it should've eased the burden somewhat.

Don't take the last part personally, it's something I see often not with just this game. Different people have different relationships to spending obviously

Finally taking some time to play around more with my nest. It’s not really my thing so I didn’t spend lots of time decorating. But now I took a run at it I’m a bit disappointed. I can kinda understand the limits in how many of each item can be placed since it’s a bit like you get what you paid for. But I’m not sure I understand the limit on total number of items. Seems like we should be able to put ALL of our junk we want into our storage container nest. Feel like it makes sense to limit the total in the shared spaces cause they out in the wild. But if we wanna be all super pack rat in our lil hovels then let us be us.

all shared spaces (ss) let you use all items you own, but depending on what type of ss it is there's a different cap for how many can be placed
so a spell would be smallest, then ss diamond is a bit bigger, iirc your nest has the highest cap you can place a lot there

you wouldn't be able to put down absolutely everything if you have a lot of props, but you can still put down a substantial amount

Hello I've a few questions about the figurine for the ultimate gift.

1. Let's say I put a chibi mask on it and put it down to confirm it has the chibi mask, then change my mask to any other mask and become tall. If I go to the next map and put the figurine down again, will the figurine still have the chibi mask?

2. If I make a shared space and put it down when I'm wearing the chibi mask, would the figurine still have the chibi mask every time we visit the shared space?

3. Let's say the figurine actually save your look despite moving to new maps, would it still save the look if you log off and come back later?

use the workshop shared space to experiment with all available props and make a wishlist of things you actually want to use, then just prioritise spending on that

  Like there a lot of carpets and rugs(10+? I don't remember). You can buy one big or small ones and that's enough for your home. There also not one type of pillows (+ we have a cheap from assembly and days of feast).
  Also we have several types of tables and I don't think that anyone need all of them in their nest.
  Just pick one that you like the most for your nest design. You can buy later another ver of table/carpet/etc if you want to change anything + have free currency for this

Nesting looked back into the temple as if they were longing to see Forest Elder again so I took them inside and we spent time at the shrine, I felt so sad that Forest Elder wasn't actually there so I hope Nesting actually gets to see them at the end of the season or something

I also felt so taking photos in the sunny forest together, it really does recreate the scene in the painting when you hold hands with them
And I think we've become their apprentice, they allow us near their hammer now and we both stand and observe their painting and I noticed there's a pile of slates just beside the desk where they stand and I think it's for us to be able to reach
I want to give them the biggest hug they deserve it

Obviously they already had access to timber, because wooden furniture were available in the shop at the start of the season. So why were we suddenly asked to arrange it?

The cutscene before the quest shows the shelves that were once full of wood, empty.

Even the thingy says they're out of timber and to help them collect some more, using words.

That and they got to visit somewhere special to them with you, which made them happy

When I first saw the prop I thought it would let anyone wear the cosmetics that were on it for a short time until it was deleted or they left the server or something, but the way they did it makes sense.

Yeah pretty cool! I didn’t see any changes to the ult in this patch, but it should work as a ‘permanent’ outfit change.

If you own the items displayed on the mannequin, it’s a quick outfit change!

You can showcase items if you equip them as spells as well, but you won’t be able to change into them after if you don’t actually own the item. Hope that makes sense

No. We don't have a list for furniture prices. The only certain prices we have are the ones seen in live so far. Though once all the furniture cycles through, there will probably be a compiled list later.

Hmmmm. I'm mainly intrigued about the Closet Dresser. Speaking that all Closets somehow slowly regen you're wings I wonder if we can use the prop as a seemly fast light source. Although it's not better then something like Torch it'll be one of the recharging stations which will be in the game "permanently" iirc.

Not to mention in the current version of the game. The Closet Dresser actually works as I mentioned. I'm just not sure if it works as a prop that goes on your back.

However don't all of these rewards cost AC though?

Oh you gotta ask skybot for the role you can use the command !team_mischief in dms with skybot to choose a role. Skybot will give you a list of different roles and then you just say "I wish to be a" and then say the role you want.

These are different, they're part of a challenge board outside of the main quest tree so it's like
Guide - gives us seasonal quests
One of the seasonal quests unlocks a challenge board
Challenge board - gives us "mini" side quests (I say that loosely because some of them are 'create 15 shared spaces, buy 15 props', that kinda thing - intended for long term achievement)
