If you have other players in the area with you, one of you can run Krill distraction by using hiding spots in the ship while the other, or others, carry the Spirit to safety. Just be careful to let the Krill do it’s thing where it looks to it’s left and right once each to try to find you before you go back into it’s spotlight, otherwise the windup to it’s attack won’t be able to reset, and the Krill will just immediately charge at you after a few times of grabbing it’s attention.

Also, about the jumpoff point, it is definitely a pain! I don’t know how feasible it is for other platforms, but as I’m a Switch player, I can quickly flick the joystick to turn myself back around, use a cape charge or two to boost back towards the Spirit circle, and usually if I’m fast enough, it will be able to lock back onto me and stop the countdown for the Spirit resetting.

there's pros and cons to both spaces. having aviary as your home means one less load zone to deal with if you want to dye an outfit, go to the nesting workshop or duets concert hall, etc

spell shop is also always accessible at Aviary village, whereas it closes randomly at Old home

I don’t even use any of those. Aviary is just where I see spirits and look at the pretty town.
