Sure. Just for reference, the majority of the game environment is installed locally on your device, so the main amount of data transfer is for saving checkpoints, and counting wax accumulation. If you're very social then chatting will consume some data too, and if you're merged into a full server then that will also use slightly more data. Also recording memory candles will consume quite a lot of data. Just for keeping up with your daily cr and tasks I saw a post in the FB group a few months ago where someone monitored the data use over an hour and it was really not a lot. Maybe like 100mb but I can't remember the exact figure 🙂

Mali GPU isn't so besties with Sky, i wouldn't recommend that.

If the phone is relatively new release, high chance are they still have 60fps locked even if it's capable. But looking at the spec, I'd suggest to get one with better GPU if ur goal is for 60fps in Sky. Aim for Adreno 620 or 630 or higher.

The fact you are getting it on more than one device indicates a server error (account synchronisation is a server thing). My advice is to leave it alone for today and try again tomorrow.

I don't know and have no reasonable guesses, so my only intuition is that based on the number of people reporting errors today it's somehow related to that. If it continues for more than a few days I guess TGC will eventually get round to posting an acknowledgement in the known issues channel, but as we all know they never share details of the causes of problems, and it usually takes them days of ongoing problems before the even acknowledge them..

If you post a full bug report to them it might help them to narrow down the cause, but since the issues are affecting all platforms they probably already know the reason... Someone probably made a mistake in the coding and now they need to fix it.

Some things that might help:

1. Restart your device.
2. Check your storage space, if it is less than 4GB, I'd recommend to free up some space (this is also useful for when you need to update Sky app).
3. Try to not run too much apps when you're playing Sky. If necessary, don't run any other app/screen recording/playstore update along with Sky.

If you have multiple Sky accounts in one device, I'd recommend to not make purchase as this can lead to IAP merge that might be unfixable.

hi hi, just wanted to double check if not being able to recharge near light source (flame, torches, lanterns own light props) after getting soaked in hidden forest's rain is a bug? it happened in the first area when it starts to rain
(you can still recharge with butterflies!)
I went to the next area (with the brook meditation) and my light recharges just fine,, but I went back to see if the bug persists in that area and the same bug happens :o

It depends on which Motorola, because all androids that are version 8 and above and meet all the requirements to run sky, will support it. A Motorola in a version 7 won't support it, a version 8 and above will support it. You can specify which Motorola and ask if it can run Sky. There's a list of minimum specs requirements pinned in this channel as well, you can check that and then look into that phone's specs

If it helps somehow, until someone else comes in to help you out cuz😭 I'm using Motorola G9 Play, I wouldn't say it's that great for Sky (could be because of how long I've been using it now) but playable and runs fine, and the phone is great in itself. You could maybe ask around and see what phones other people use for Sky if it'll help you to avoid digging into specs and stuff, they can definitely be confusing

That device should support Sky. If your device passes safetynet and shows as certified in the Play Store, next step would be to contact support on why it shows incompatible. I don't see Lenovo making that high end of a chipset run on a 32 bit OS.

Running anything other than stock would more than likely be the culprit. I would suggest making sure the app shows as incompatible on Stock before contacting support. Edit: And also making sure you pass safetynet and show as certified on stock.

The stock ROM is a PRC-exclusive that does not have Play services installed by default, which is why I'm running AOSP's GSI (Treble) ROM. Where would I check safetynet/certification?

If the device doesn't come with Play Services installed by default, that could be the issue. To check Google Play certification (barely ever passes when using a GSI) you would go into play store settings and it would be under "about."

Now, it's only... technically capable of running the game... It supports the required software, technically, but the hardware isn't very capable. It'll be very slow. I would reach out via the support link above to ask about it.

It's hard to speak with certainty on the Vulkan support as Qualcomm treats hardware specs as trade secrets. They do not list nor advertise any specifications. Oftentimes, manufacturers only find out what the system-on-chip is capable of when they receive it and the HAL's to start developing the OS.

Motorola E model phones are 32 bit. Unless Motorola spends the development costs to upgrade their budget E series to be 64 bit, they will never run Sky. (Moto is very good at publishing source code for their kernels on their github repo and checking the kernel for the E 2020 model and other E models, they are all arm config files instead of arm64/aarch64 configs.)

Not sure if this is still useful but Im using Huawei Y9(2019) and I've been able to play sky normally and it is on the play store for me (however it does get a bit laggy sometimes so I just tap the graphics settings until it resets to the lowest and it runs decently. I had this problem for a month and I thought I couldn't buy anything anymore, but I found a way for my device. But I had this problem only on my phone, but when I use another device It worked. So first of all I decided to delete sky and then restart my phone. After that I downloaded sky again and when I logged in to my account everything worked again. I saw other ways in bug reports like change your device language to another and then IAP works again, but that didn't work for me. Try all ways. Hope will work

It's still a budget phone though, it's always hit and miss with cheap devices, and depending on your country the chipsets are programmed and processor chips are produced by different manufacturers.. cheap Android phones are a bit of lottery in terms of Sky compatibility

The chip is 64 bit on a hardware level, yes. Samsung built the OS as 32 bit to save development costs, which is normal for cheap phones. It would be better to check geekbench since it shows software bit depth. armv7 is 32 bit.

Samsung also imposes their own version of Android as a layer on top of the android OS. Often it's simply a case of waiting for them to update their custom OS to catch up with the stock version of Android.

I've only used phones with stock Android for the last 10 years, will never use phones that implement their own custom bloatware.

Unfortunately it's still the case though that cheap Android phones are a lottery when it comes to Sky, even if the brand and model are the same.

Usually if the game gets stuck at the TGC screen, you have an app drawing over Sky. Please check to make sure no apps have permission to draw over other apps. You can find this permission under settings - apps - special app access.

TGC can't unlink anything for you. Facebook can be unlinked if you contact Facebook, so you'll need to contact Facebook. Let your brother know that sharing login info is against ToS, it puts your account at risk of getting banned, cause other irreversible issues and, get scammed as proven right there. Just let your brother know of the general internet safety, since you shouldn't be handing over your email to password to anyone, not even your friends

Although TGC says they can't help in these cases, if I were you I would reopen the ticket and then patiently but persistently make a case for them to unlink it manually. If you have your sky id, and can prove that it was you who made all the purchases, you might have a chance of getting control back. It sounds like it might be quite a battle, but for such a well established account it would be worth trying until you succeed. My only advice is not to get angry with the support team, rather build up a solid case and provide proof. It could take weeks or even months

Due to the season hype, servers have been unstable during the first 2h. This happens with every season so the general rule is to avoid buying anything in the first few hours of the season, just for future ref:) Unstable servers can prevent from purchases going through with the constant errors and it trying to handle an abnormal amount of players in a short period of time. You will likely recieve it within 24h, but contact support with your purchase receipt. Support can take 3-4 days and up to a week to reply

In the mean time you can try going over the shop again and see if under the pass that you bought it says 'free', meaning you can tap on it and recieve it. That was implemented a while ago for purchase errors. If if doesn't say free, try tapping the restore purchase to the right of the candle shop, it goes through your account to check for any iaps that you bought but aren't in the account

Your other and last solution is waiting for a reply from support and hope you'll receive the pass before that

No other accounts. The game is linked to my google account. Only "fix" I found so far and it works temporarily is to reinstall the game. But having to redownload 1GB every time I decide to get something from the store is annoying, even though my wifi is great. Btw, the same issue happens on 4G/5G so its not the network.

And I only play it on my S21Ultra. Never installed it on another device. It used to work fine before, so this is puzzling. No updates to the OS at all, so I have not changed anything on the device itself.

If you have two devices that you play Sky on, like on Switch and mobile, mind you that they won't transfer to or from Switch due to Nintendo restrictions.

So if you bought the pass on Android, but mostly play on Switch, you have to spend those candles on Android.

If I wanted to gain root access to my phone purely to replace the startup screen boot animation and then never touch root files again, would that cause any problems with running sky?

I bought an unlocked phone which still has the old carrier logo on the startup screen, so it's purely a change I'd want to make for cosmetic reasons, not affecting anything to do with the function of the phone itself; I'm just not sure if TGC's issue with rooting a device is the potential for damage or fraudulent behaviour, or if it's the act of rooting the device itself that's the problem.

I really only need to access the system files to remove the boot animation, because the phone was unlocked through legitimate means by the carrier themselves, they just didn't remove the startup logo

But, rooting will kill the CTS check from Google causing the root user can't play Sky.

If you want to, try to change the Startup Screen Animation for your phone. After you like that change, remove the root.

And lock the boot loader.
