Hello.
I was wondering if there's any way to optimize performance for the game on mobile? I have a Samsung galaxy A12, and I was just able to get the game again but it seem to be running under the usual 30 fps - I always guesses 30 fps because ps5 runs it on 60 and the difrence was always noticeable - it's just really shoppy

Samsung A series is the budget line of Samsung, so the performance would assume replacing hardware in the device and developing a new OS fitting to that hardware. It sounds like you're looking/wishing for a stronger device.

Unfortunately there's not much you can do. Facebook sync is so unreliable that even the daily message recommends adding back-up sync methods in case it fails. Keep trying, try either with Facebook all installed/uninstalled, and once you can log in, add a back-up sync method to it. Good luck 🍀

Yes, new features require more up-to-date hardware. Do you remember, how limited the features were back in the day years ago? - I bet you do! Adding to that, many manufacturers don't develop drivers so well these days, and that's also a source of the problems - half decade old phones still run Sky without hiccups.
But Facebook login issues are independent from that, TGC has been promoting to use other syncing methods for more than a year now.
Usually it's just a Google Play cache issue on some devices.
Try the following:
- delete Play Store cache
- delete google Play Games cache
Restart the device and try again. - If it still doesn't work, delete data of the 2 apps above and restart the device.

Why the quest cannot be accepted?
Usually it's just a Google Play cache issue on some devices.
Try the following:
- delete Play Store cache
- delete google Play Games cache
Restart the device and try again. - If it still doesn't work, delete data of the 2 apps above and restart the device.
Try changing "smallest width" in developer settings or #report-a-live-bug regarding your device.
That's usually because you have a connection but it's struggling to keep up with Sky. Try on a different connection

Tried that as well and it didn't work, I contacted TGC again through the website and they sent this , so there isn't any other solutions maybe
Reporting it as a bug in #report-a-live-bug can raise the statistical significance of the bug (support can forward player concerns, but that is not the bugreport department) and if many players with affected devices report the bug, that can speed up the process.
That said, if the problem is with the device how it communicates its dimensions with Sky because of UI or drivers issues, that's out of TGC's reach and may need more time for fixing.
When I try to open the game it says I need to update to the newest version of sky, but I'm google play i don't have the option to update. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled, but it didn't fix the problem. Any idea what i should do?
It's a Google Play store cache issue. Empty the cache of Google Play store and restart the device

How can i go to this season's spirit area after ive done the quests?

I am playing Sky: Children of the Light on a realme Pad 2 tablet (11.5 inch, 2000x1200 resolution, 5:3 aspect ratio). I noticed that the daily quest panel overlaps with the candle/heart/energy display at the top of the screen, making the UI unclear.
I have tried:
- Resetting system font size and display size to default
- Switching refresh rate (60Hz/120Hz)
- Changing orientation (portrait/landscape) and restarting the game
The issue still exists, so I believe it may be caused by incomplete adaptation to the 5:3 aspect ratio.
I hope the development team can optimize the UI display for realme Pad 2 and other 5:3 screen devices in future updates.

Why does the app continuously crash for no reason? Sometimes I can press the start button, sometimes it crashes before even getting to the login page. I just updated it, I tried everything, force stopping it, clearing cache. It's not working. Is this a new bug with the update on Android?

I'm looking between several new Samsung devices, and currently struck between the S25 and A17.
I see a few messages about S25, but not much on A17,
Does anyone have any experience with the A17 range on Sky?

One thing to note is benchmark scores between Galaxy A17 chipset (Exynos 1330) and Galaxy S25 (Snapdragon 8 Elite) are like a difference of day and night, Exynos 1330 scores pales in comparison to Snapdragon 9 Elite scores. While it is true that A17 is still a capable device, it is still considered mid-range device whereas S25 is one of their flagship device.
If you plan on keeping the device for a long time, I'd honestly go for S25 especially if you have the means to purchase one. It's definitely a bang for the buck!

That was the way I was going, but the only thing letting it down was no expansion on memory, so I'd probably go for the 256gb or 512gb models, where the A17 could be expanded up to 2tb in SD cards.
Honestly that's the only thing that's making me prefer the A range (as well as price difference) and making me hesitant to the S.
256GB or 512GB storage should already be more than enough for a regular long-time use for a device unless you're very heavy on media contents.. then yeah, a higher storage option is not a question. There's also the cloud-based storage options but those come at a cost and in a subscription form at that.
Shame that they have stopped utilizing SD card slot on their S-lines tho and by looking at the A lineup, it seems like they're gearing towards the same direction (case in point, Galaxy A56 no longer supports SD Card Slot). 
Yeah, video creator here, so definitely in the plans to have enough space for raw and enough space to edit too.
Tbh I could probably use YouTube as well to store raw videos, but makes it trickier for longterm videos.
Why does my text turn red when I say the words "tiktok" and "Reddit"
Those are restricted in public chat, along with other social media sites, such as discord, Facebook, YouTube etc. so that you cannot send links to external sites ingame.
If you want to edit videos/photos on your phone, then definitely go for the S25. The A17 is a budget phone and you would probably regret it in 1-2 years you've gone for that option

Im using my device Poco f3 and whenever i take a picture with in game camera or (down in the left take screenshot button) it kicks me out for most of the times.
This is happening since ive got this device and im not sure if this is happening only to me ;-;
In app permissions i gave the permission of camera (since its asking me only that and the mic)
But still kicks me out.
So many times i wanted to take clean pic but can't, anyone know how to fix this
This issue is very unique, and the F3 is not a very rare device, so it could something particular to your device. Try the following:
- check for Android updates and restart the device
- remove all apps that could conflict with Sky, especially resource heavy ones, such as Facebook, TikTok, etc
- turn off app features which overlap other apps, such as messenger bubbles, discord over Sky, etc
- try with various graphics settings in Sky settings ⚙️
- make sure there's a few GB of extra space on your phone
If nothing helps, backup all data from your phone and do a factory reset. Update your android. Reinstall Sky first, and then reinstall step by step each apps to check what might be conflicting.
I found out its the game booster (make game run smooth) made me crash out when taking picture. Thank you telling me about that

Uhhh is anyone else having issues starting the game on Android? I played earlier today normally, now it's just getting stuck after I press play.

I do, it's been days and I still can't log in with that specific device. Creating an account does load the game without a problem tho but when I switch back it's stuck. So I just logged in on my other phone

Mmm...I'm not sure yet what might be going on but I found several players reporting here crashing using Redmi note.
I'm not sure whether is Sky's app or the device's not too strong GPU struggling.

Have you checked your internet source (data or wifi) is working well for your device?
The strength of the internet signal and package dropouts or a ping latency that is too high are also issues that may prevent the game from loading or working correctly.
You can use a tool like https://speedtest.net/ , to check that.
Is recommended that download is more than 30 Kb/s and Ping latency is less than 30 ms/35ms.
Sky can be more affected by even small instabilities than other apps.

Currently it's quite low, not sure why, usually it's at least above a 30. But this issue has been lasting more than this evening, yesterday I measured it it was some 35
Yeah, and ping latency is also too much, it works opposite, it's ideal around 10 ms and Sky is problem free under about 30 ms.
Did you try nagging your internet service provider for a fix? 📞 I recommend that.
No, this is just a current issue. As I said, yesterday it was quite fine, plus, the game always ran normally without so much as lag, let alone not even starting
Such a low dl combined with high latency can mean in data packet loss as well 
Regardless, try the following method below, but if it doesn't help, keep monitoring your connection and call your ISP
Try the following:
- Log out from all google accounts in your phone settings
- Delete Sky and Google Play Games apps (if previously installed)
- Sign in to your phone settings with the Google account you'd like to choose to use with Sky
- Reinstall the applications from the Play store, including the Google Play Games 🎮 app
- Log into the same Google account in the Google Play Games app
- Start Sky and select the Google account you're playing from

Apparently alot of players are experiencing this from Android. What is wrong? Why is tgc not fixing it? Shouldn't it be there top priority.
This is because your device drivers or hardware is conflicting with the game mechanism. That's why most players don't experience the problem, while you with your device encountering it. Report it as a bug so you can raise awareness regardless the issue to devs, just keep in mind that bug fixes take 5-6 weeks at least because of Nintendo switch limitations, and because of cross play we're bound to that 
That said, it's not happening on all android devices, and iOS devices crash as well. (I didn't get it on my 2 devices, for example.)
Considering this is a 650k member server, and the number of such questions, about 1 in 100-200 players have this issue I guess
As an android user I don't experience crashes. I think it has to do with the unfinished 15 bonus ticket photography scavenger hunt. Try to complete that one first, and attempt the daily

It sounds like a unique problem related to your device which is specifically conflicting with Sky. Try installing a different keyboard, updating your Android and disabling all apps over apps features like discord over Sky or Messenger bubbles, etc

Is anyone else finding the game super unstable this season? It's taking me at least 10 trials to open the game and actually be able to move freely in Aviary without crashing, and I can barely start a viewing of the Two Embers, start a season quest, or complete a season quest without crashing half-way through. This has honestly not made me want to play this season, let alone pay for the season pass
I totally get what you’re saying, and it sounds really frustrating.
What you’re experiencing seems pretty unique, and sounds like that your device is struggling with the demands of the game this time. It's not a common Sky experience for sure, especially that even veteran-old android 9 versions should support the cinema (the rest depends on how well the manufacturer optimized the device and Android updates).
Try with the same account on a newer, even borrowed device (make sure to uninstall Sky afterwards on that), try to update your Android, try with various Sky graphics settings, experiment with the more minimalist original home, turn motion blur on/off.
I've been wondering why my game is now being unstable so I tried to reinstall it. But I couldn't install it again because of some issues. I would want to know if there's anyone else experiencing this here or was it just my device (I've been trying this since this morning)

So just about recently, I got a popup that said "game data is corrupt, need to reinstall". But I ignored it since the game was running just fine when I restarted it. Though, a few days later, I'm starting to have issues that I never encountered before and decided to reinstall the game. When I went to the app store, it had a warning that the game may not run properly in my devices based on recent data. But I still went on and installed it hoping it's not gonna be the case. But the game failed to download and is having issues while downloading too. So yeah, I'm stuck outside the game for the time being
So I spent an hour to make the out of sync In-game recording's audio set in the right sync on PC using video editor, and now that I've discovered that why our Android's in-game recording was out of sync? It's based on the FPS. I hope that my analysis helps here.
Wow, you really have a series of problems here! Let's breakdown what could happen!
The game data corrupt message is a frequent bug for this patch, a regular restart should resolve it 
The "game may not be compatible" message in Play Store - if you don't have an under optimized or very old device - is a Google Play store cache issue: emptying the cache of it would resolve it.
If the download is being stuck it's often a Google server issue, try it later, or after about a half day wait it's stuck again, empty Play Store cache, restart the device and try again.
It usually means your device hardware is struggling to keep up with Sky combined with the processing demands of screen recording, which was the icing on the cake. Try to use a different third party screen recorder 
I use both (Third-party & In-game) just for my fun editing strategies so yep. 
Ohh a question! Which fps is the most ideal to sync up the audio?
And also if you use third party, make use of the new hide ui feature if you want the ui less look(though you may have to memorise where the uis are ahaha)
No answer cuz surely all graphics settings have out of sync no matter how many times attempted. Before my phone upgrade, my in-game recording result in my Android 8 syncs perfectly but poor quality, so I used it as my audio aid from my video edits using a third-party recording with no audio (based on my Android 8 phone's specs).

It is just the game because it's more demanding. Mobile data - depending on your provider - can be occasionally insufficient in terms of speed for such a game like sky.

How to get today tickets
For the event? Teleport to the event area or go to Vault -- Archives-- Seasonal Area. Talk to the Event Guide and you will be told what to do after you follow their lead.
I can't do this quest, the spirit freezes after watching just one shared space, i tried creating my own shared space and it doesn't work. I already tried this like 2-3 times. Am i the only one?
@gray wind I can’t complete the shared spaces quest or the sapling quest. Very frustrating
There seems to be issues affecting a good number of players from different platforms so they can be server issues.
Besides that, this particular task is pretty bugged.
Try leaving the area, coming back and let the spirit take the lead (even if it might be slow), That worked for several players.

completed 2nd dailies a bit ago, now going for the 3rd one and then the last one. Will report if I encounter issues.
I accepted Bellmaker's had, let them guide me at their own pace.
After a few seconds they stopped moving I got the spirit and me close to the shrine.
Opened a shared space (it 's from a friend) and just stood there, while the spirit made some expressions.
It took the spirit a bit but then the dailies was completed.
And I was able to claim the SC from dailies.

I 've seen a lot of players struggling with dailies today.
Not sure what is causing the issues.
I was able to complete them and claim dailies.
But many others, from different platforms, have not.
It's kinda weird to be honest, maybe it's correlated to how Sky behaves with the version of your phone
It well may be. That is why repporting the issue, either here at DC or straight to support may provide devs enough information to try to figure out what is going on, as well as letting them know how spread this is.

Even when I leave Sky in the background, when I try to enter, the message appears
That may be either internet instability or server issues (anything is possible at this point, given the circumstances)

Yeah, due to limitations on how Steam lets third party’s handle log in credentials, you’ll have to verify your account every time you log trough it

You can workaround this by linking another log in method (like Google), then log in using it instead of Steam (avoid Facebook, since it’s known to cause problems)

Looking at the report, it does occur on 13, 14 and 15 so far. Seems like it had to do with how Sky responds to specific drivers (not all devices have the same graphics drivers, even if they host the same OS version. Which is why mine is unaffected)
Per Io, the devs are aware of it so please wait for a fix patiently

Its not android version, it has to do with how this patch responds to the different graphics drivers that exist on some devices. Which is also why Tib and I aren't affected

I would say try to wait for a new patch
She has however cleared cache already tho. Does that have any effect? Idk if cache included account info
If she didn't link the game and cleared cache, it might have affected the access to her account but game updates - depending on they system's temporary files management - can overwrite local account data as well. Linking is a top priority when it comes to account access.
I just told her to wait for update, hopefully it all works out, or else she will be loosing almost 1 year of progress. Thank you both of you 😬
If I clear the data of the game in my phone (with a linked account), will my progress be lost or will the additional files just be reset?
When you link your account, it's being synced to servers outside your device, therefore clearing game data doesn't affect that and your account is secure (unless it's Facebook, it's very buggy)
The game keep saying the data is corrupt and I restart the game every single time. Within 10 minute, it corrupt 3 time. Did they put a new patch?

If you haven't collected any winged light yet, then you lost wing buffs and have to go to eden again to get them back
I clear the cache but the didn't go back to normal, right when the tgc logo pops up for cut scene but it still doesn't open up 😭
Try deleting data as well, it helped for others
Not just cache, try clearing the app data (which tgc refers as application cache here in #known-issues )

i did collect some winged lights, so i cant go back to eden and get them back?
Wing buffs are bought with Ascended candles from base game spirits and travelling spirits, winged lights you collected can be collected again right where you found them, they fall back into the world of sky 
You find again the WL by searching in the realms (and the ones in the shard memories by completing red shard events).
But if you loose any wing buff... you need to complete Eden and reborn to get them back.
oh this was my first ever eden so, i spent all the candles on said buffs and didnt enter eden again

They've put a fix, simply follow these steps in #known-issues , just delete the app data (called cache here) and reopen the game (as long as you've linked your account)
I reported my issue & also followed the instructions, no luck yet

Then just wait for a future patch, as they are working on further fixes and it takes time, please be patient

No need to be dramatic honestly, all you need to is wait. Not all devices are built the same, sometimes not all solutions work and all you can is to report again so devs know what device type isn't working
Make sure to delete the data as well. Clearing only the cache didn't help everyone. Just make sure your account is linked to something other than local account.

Why is my sky not opening? Like this might be a me problem but, every time I open the sky app it just closes before the loading screen even appears

The daily quest of viewing shared spaces isn't working well for me, I tried going into one and standing by the spawn diamond or whatever it is with the spirit, does anyone know if im doing something wrong?
- Don't do anything once the spirit hold your hand for the initial part.
- When you have opened a shared space, stay still until the spirit lets go of your hand and keep them in your view

While the uncommon, second double light event is likely supposed to mitigate the errors, the servers were not affected for a week. If you encountered errors for a week, that also could have been your connection.

Ah, my mistake.
Complete the final season quest and return to the Last City at the end of it. The manatee at the enclosure will now have a short friendship tree with the butterfly toy in it.

They are at a box at the event area. You have to bring your friend there, stand really close to the box then open the gifting node to see the options.
It's bugged to some players. But this has happened before in the past events so I would say report in #report-a-live-bug and tgc usually fixes it pretty fast

I am having a serious problem with the eye of eden, the transcendent candle yield does not match the number of statues that i had given lights to. After finishing the orbit, i was greeted with 0,25 transcendent candle. This is my 4th time trying to get Transcendent candles this week, but whenever i came back, the statues that i have previously lit with winged lights remained unlited. this was the sped up version of the full run that i have recorded as evidence.

Ik this issue it's supposed to be already "fixed" (or kinda), but I've been with this exact problem for the past 5 days.
Just as soon as I tap on the start button, game just stay freeze on the starting screen and the starting button disappear.
When I try to log via twitch or steam, I CANT, bc the game either crashes or says that some unexpected problem happened n to come back later to try again, EVERYTIME.
I have try everything already n still the same, and only way I was miserably able to log was after I found out u could log with GeForce but I can barely play once or twice per day after doing a long waiting line in queu, and this situation it's already getting ridiculously exasperating for me.
Someone else have been presenting this same issue? I can't even do a report bc That message keeps popping up at the end, where the typing bar is supposed to be, saying "hey did you finish reading? Keep checking other channels."
How can I fill up a report here? Or should I just directly delete game and come like a year after THAT gets really fixed????
Hey there!
Here are some tips:
- try on a different device, to sort out whether your particular phone has issues with Sky
- if you were referring to the missing typing bar in #report-a-live-bug or #bug-reports-android , that's intentional. As the latest message locked in that channel instructs, you have to react to the fire emoji on the latest message in the channel and Skybot app will contact you for details in DM to send a bugreport. But since it's not a widespread problem, it seems like the issue is with your particular device.
Some additional thoughts, which might help: deleting the data of Sky has resolved the problem for everyone for whom emptying cache didn't work. If deleting app data didn't work either, it's quite likely that the device has an individual problem.

And I can tell it's not exactly that my phone became unable to reproduce the game properly since after trying the different login options, I were able to log ONLY with guest account and everything seemed to be normal, but when I try with any other login option game just crash, kicks me out, or do nothing
That's because logging in needs to open another - your default - browser window and your phone finds difficulty handling that. "Local account" doesn't open an internal browser.

Umm, I don't know how to use it and I don't know where to report the bug but something strange happened to me today.
It turns out I was going to do the mission to go to the Warehouse Shelter (I don't know what it's called in English, so I'm using the translator) And well when I finished the mission out of nowhere I had the Aurora instrument on, that is to say I had it on after the mission, I didn't buy it to begin with, since in the second photo you can see that I don't have it, but I had it on as if I did. In the first photo I think you can't see the instrument but I had it placed on the second map almost near the Elder's altar :[ I got a little scared because I think they're going to ban me for carrying an art This is not an item I own and I didn't buy it, but I hope I'm not the only one who had the bug.
No worries about that, that's a left over from when you did the daily quest where you used the AURORA instrument. It'll stay on until you switch it out to another item or leave the game. Consider it as a free trial

Hello, i have recently unlinked my steam account from my sky account as i primally use the Google to log in. Because of that it keeps telling me i cant access it and to use another devide to log in and then come back to it, i have tried that alredy and it dint work, is there anyway i can still log into my account?(all android devices and i never used the Steam account to buy anything). Low graphics is to save on battery. If you don't want battery saver mode, you can set graphics up to 120 fps.
Help, I originally played on my laptop and had a Steam account, but then I switched to my phone and I wanted to log in with that Steam account. But somehow my phone would only open the Sky app on certain wifi and not others. Now I live somewhere else and can’t access Sky anymore. Does anyone know if it’s my phone?

Can you please explain in what ways it doesn't open? Is it stuck at a certain point during game launch and doesn't load your character at home?
When I click on the play button, it gives me an error screen like this (I can't even enter the game)
This means the connection you're trying to use isn't good quality and is having tiny dropouts.
There's nothing wrong with your device.
Try a different connection, and also try linking another sync method such as Google, that's a little bit more tolerant.

Reason: Sky is cross play and iOS devices have no compatibility questions/issues like fragmented Androids, so iOS doesn't have a separate channel (Nintendo or PS either)
It means you have a connection but it is struggling to keep up with the game. Sky is very sensitive to it. Try on a different connection, or call your internet service provider company for fix

Being near the wifi unfortunately doesn't improve the quality of the internet the router is getting. Wifi is only one part of the signal chain. Check it on https://speedtest.net - download speed more than 30ms, ping latency less than 35ms are recommended.

Here the clear answer about that phones with snapdragon 8 elite have bad graphics, if you see, it only use more or less 60% - 65% of gpu in their max settings. The phone keep cold and it look pixeled

You would have to restart. Can you warp home from the emote menu? The icon that looks like a gate. Or tap the top right corner twice and select the first icon.

In that case, you might have to skip that winged light. There is another one in the area you can reach after obtaining that first spirit. Restart, unlock that spirit and head to a cave at where the arrow in my picture is.

Sky is compatible with stock androids. If it worked before, that was only question of luck.
But just in case, try deleting the data as well of play store , and restart the device

Similar hardware is not relevant: the optimization and proper Vulkan drivers often count more. There are several devices that run the game smoothly even on high graphics with weaker hardware than other - on paper stronger - incompatible phones because of that difference.
Also, the previously said point stands as well: lineage OS - even if it's great, is not stock Android and might lack things that the game and Google Play (safety net) requires.

You can manually set a custom status, but if you mean the app icon with a time counter, it should be a Discord (not Sky) feature, and Discord supports it through steam (PC) ||and maybe through Xbox||, not android.
select the react icon that correspond to the role you'd like and it would reflect on your profile.

Sadly, realme is known to have very poor optimization and it seems Mali g52 - which already been cited as having significant Vulkan driver issues on developer forums - became not only under optimized, but also outdated in that phone to be able to keep up with game features

Yes those devices have always lacked optimization in Vulkan territory, what the game engine relies on.
If Vulkan drivers are supported correctly by the manufacturer, there's no problem - half decade old devices still run Sky smoothly.

As far as I've seen different players from different platforms report being unable to complete 1 or more dailies.
Mostly seems to be players with 30.9 update.
So far, Dailies have been started, and wax is registering, tho a bit slow.
If issues still persist, please report the issue so Devs are aware of them.
GUYS I CAN'T DO THE DARK DRAGON QUEST. My sister (also on Android) can do it. I can't and I'm also on Android. This is a huge issue. 
I haven't been able to do three of my daily tasks! Because the game or whatever bug is acting up won't register them as complete once i've done them
I completed the get 30 pieces of light and burn 10 dark plants and was able to claim the candles as usual.
What was strange was empty servers (when I logged in saw a friend at home, tho)

You can complete the dragon one just by letting a krill see you (red light needed, game needs to register it) and you can inmediately after get to a wall or some other safe spot.
Sometimes a bit of instability may cause the game not to register properly a quest as completed.
But there seems to be a wider issue than just mere internet instability.
I did face the dragon then, it flashed its red light at me, even charged me but I hopped aside to avoid it. Because I was able to complete the gathering 30 pieces of light quest but not the other three despite getting those done, even messing with the dark dragon more and burning more darkness to make sure i didn't just do too little.
Mmm....not sure what exactly is not working properly.
I just (litterally) completed the GW spirit's dailies.
Weird, not sure what bug it might be then. I busted wnated my daily candles, finally figured out how to get around 20 in a day but I can't reach that without my dailys ;v;
These days you have a great extra help with Day's of Moonlight cakes (wax).
I know one way to sidestep the issue last time this happened was to make sure you do all 4 dailies in one go, right after you get them. Do not turn them in until after all 4 are done.
Hope that works for some players. I did turn them a bit for testing and if I found issues for the report making.

Sounds like a connection which is struggling to keep up with the game. Chat lag is not a widespread issue currently

It isn't a widespread problem. Try closing background apps, if that doesn't help, back-up your data and everything, and factory reset your device.

Well, reset time is midnight for TGC and most offices only start their work-day at 08:00 or so hours, so sounds like it's still a reasonable time. For the meantime, it's best to wait, update will be rolled when it's ready to be rolled out.

That's an extremely high ping latency, which explains why that happened to you. I highly recommend you to contact your internet service provider company for a fix.

For vast majority of the devices it's not a problem so it could be your particular device. Here are some tips:
- check for Android updates, install them and restart the device
- try going with different cosmetics or different graphics settings
- if nothing helps report it as a bug and most importantly report to your device manufacturer that might have Vulkan driver issues

Hi, I'm an Android 11 user who never had any issues before, but the new update of the game isn't working for me. I even unstalled the game, and tried to download it again, but it just won't download. It's not an internet problem, or a matter of space, and my phone says it has no recent updates of system, so i'm not sure how to fix this.. 😅 I even did the 'clear cache' on the google playstore

I dont think your cpu should be 78 degrees hot. This will lead to long term damage
Try lowering graphics settings and/or your screen brightness, remove protective case, and don't charge the device while playing.
I play on medium settings at 60 FPS, if it's even lower, it's blurry.
What about the other suggestions? Is it a device under warranty? - because although Sky is a heavy game, overheating is not being reported in significant amounts.
I only observe this kind of heating in Sky
It still should not be that hot and no one else reports it. What is the temperature after a 10 minute AnTuTu benchmark?

If the device wasn't hot to the touch, it means the heat dissipation of the device is not very efficient.
The case temperature during gaming is 45-49°C

Regardless, Check everything with a several minutes long AnTuTu benchmark. That helps to sort out if the device has problems.
Maybe even more, because I didn’t look at what the peak temperature might be.
Read carefully. When I said "not very hot to the touch," I meant after the Antutu test.
Maybe try to lower your graphic settings at 30fps, see if there's a reasonable change with temp. 78 is just too much and wouldn't be great for your device in the long run.
I played at 15-30 fps for two years, now I don't want to play lower.
There is a separate quality setting which can be set independently after setting fps, on the right side. Adjust at least that and screen brightness, because in long term you might pay a high price for your fps preference.
At some point you'd have to compromise, do you want to keep your device for a long time by playing on a lower graphics and fps or do you want to slowly fry it by playing the game that reaches the temp you previously sent.
Ultimately, it's your choice. 
I will use it as a heater in winter
Heaters are meant to get... hot, phones not. Letting your phone reach high temperatures is not good for its life on the long run. Either battery issues or throttling your experience will also not be good.
And, Sky is a game you can perfectly enjoy at 30FPS

I encountered this problem, but only with a game update.
Here are some tips:
- try to create a different google account and log in with that into Google Play (it often does so in the phone settings). If the download is successful that way it was a google bug.
- make sure you have at least 8 GB free space, this is a Google install policy for bigger apps

I’m looking for an Android phone that can comfortably run this game at max graphics and 60 FPS for long play sessions. I’m thinking of sticking with a Galaxy or Google Pixel, but I’d like the cheapest option that still performs well.
The models I’m considering are:
• Galaxy S23 / S22
• Google Pixel 8a
Does anyone here use any of these? If so, could you tell me how they perform during long gaming sessions?
Pixel 8a is the cheaper version of the 8 series and many people reported eye related problems from its unhealthy pwm display. The Samsung's display is not that bad. Although the Pixel can make more true to life photos and supports new Android version system updates for a very long time, when it comes to applications with Vulkan heavy API, even the S22 provides a more powerful and capable platform for Sky by hardware, it has stronger raw performance. The S23 of course, is even better.
Already tried logging onto another account, same problem...practically all of my storage is free I am only using 33 percent of my whole storage as of right now without the game.

Does it have framedrops after playing for too long or was it still smooth? How about when using the camera from the game to record a video? Does it stutters/lags?
Recording I haven't tested but it doesn't have frame drops at all. It just gets warm at the top. So sky will drain a lot more battery after some time

It's normal for a device to warm up, as long as it's not scalding hot, I'm good with it

Yes if it's a low end device, and another factor is the specs of the device you're using
Try lowering your graphics settings. If the significant battery drain happens only on this patch, report it as a bug.
They are already at lowest with motion blur off and FPS set to max and it happens alot more frequently after the new update

Max fps is a huge battery drainer. Motion blur doesn't consume as much. Definitely try a lower fps, the 30 Xander suggested is a perfect balance between performance and smoothness.
The Pixel has heating issues due to its communication module and mid-range chipset.
S22 It's not very powerful because of the Exynos 2200 chip, and it also gets hot. Take the S23, it has a good Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, powerful and one of the coolest processors ❄️
Adding to this, not all S22 are shipped with Exynos, it depends on the actual country.
It doesn't change the meaning, there are versions with Snapdragon 8 gen 1, which heats up to crazy temperatures

Also in the end it all comes down to their wallet. The S series, and already the S22 - with many happy S22 users here - is a better choice than the Pixel 8a for Sky.

Relatively more Vivo users report crashes because they lack proper drivers. Contact Vivo for Vulkan problems and #report-a-live-bug as well hoping TGC could find a workaround for that issue.

Appreciate the thought on pricing, but comparing a Samsung S23 to a handheld Switch or a budget gaming PC is a bit like comparing apples and oranges in this context. A Switch, for instance, already struggling and wouldn't support upcoming Sky features (it was mentioned in the same context as Android 8!) and often throttling with its own performance limitations. A budget gaming PC is a stationary setup with zero phone functionality and a very different purpose altogether. It's kind of like saying 'Don't buy a sports car, buy a harvester for the same price, they both have wheels.' They're just fundamentally different beasts for different jobs.

Be real, S23 is not a sport car compared to a budget gaming pc and a handheld. It's more like a bike with with extra wheels, no radiator and the mechanics refused to fix it. A budget gaming pc and a handheld both are way more capable, optimised and what makes them better ? They have hardware and tons of games that will compensate every dime you spent.

A switch is not optimized better at all, you're in a completely different world in this.

- switch already had fps drops years ago in several areas, especially when not docked because of throttling 🐌
- it already can't support some Sky features, just like the projector and the cinema, it's so inflexible that it was being mentioned alongside with android 8 during the 2 Embers season ⚠️
- you can't bring a PC with yourself in your pocket, it can't make photos, phone calls, etc
- check #pc-questions for the several cpu and optimization issues for the past few seasons, they have tons of them, that's a too thin ice
I'm not sure why are you pushing this in an android channel, but the OP wanted to buy a new phone. A handheld android (not iOS, not switch) device which is capable way more than the devices you mentioned. It may have less games? Yes. Was that their question? No.

Considering the current price of a Galaxy S23, you won't get a pc that runs most of the games at a descent frame rate nor graphics quality. S23 is a past flagship phone so it'll be more than enough for most mobile games

Also don't call devs "incapable", they have done the best but it is the device's limitations that affects the game performance. It's beyond their control and it is on the manufacturers to be responsible of them.
The people needed a smartphone for gaming and everyday use, why the hell would he need a PC or a Switch

Hi, I'm having trouble running sky on my Mi Pad 4 plus. Its android version is 8.1 with 4gb RAM and the MIUI version is 10.3.2. I used to play sky a year ago, it was completely fine and I just come back to see it crashing after logging in. I just wanna know if recent sky updates aren't compatible with my device.
You're almost right, your device is lacking driver & hardware updates and it is not compatible with the frequently updated new Sky features. Android 8 is so many years old, it's very outdated
It might be due to system requirements, or your device is outdated.
I did some searching online. The chipset is almost on par with the Helio G35, which Sky doesn't support. Maybe that's why you have problems.

Reference at the message above yours. Facebook as a log-in method has been discouraged for a long time now, I recommend you add another method to bind your account to and use that to log in instead, such as a gmail.

No, your Facebook account is not lost. It's just that Facebook have always had login issues over the years and it was highly recommended to bind your account to other options available.

I'm guessing it's more so a Facebook issue not the game. You can try and ask for compensation but it's highly likely they wouldn't grant it since technically you can still play the game by using other login method, other than Facebook.
For this, you might wanna wait a while, it seems like servers are having hiccups since there's a new event and too many players logging in.

You can bind your account to any options available as long you meet and do the necessary steps to binding them in specific platform. Like for my case, my account is bound to Google, Nintendo and Steam.

Unfortunately, once an account is bound to Google, you cannot unlink it anymore. Even Support would not be able to assist you in doing so.

Not only in the event i had problems with lighting my friends and collecting hearts so the problem is in the server on general
This is because the event is not on a separate server, that would be impossible.

This aspect ratio is very weird (and the bug is also something I've never seen before).
On phone. I lower the resolution & fps cuz my phone is too hot. (It's a foldable phone)
Sky settings should not affect aspect ratio. Something is definitely not okay with the UI or drivers on that phone

I get it's in tablet mode but both aspect ratios are uncommon. Also the fact it heats up much suggest it's not designed for Vulkan heavy applications. @thick grove

#known-issues it's been resolved. So try to see it the next reset if it'll increase again. It may not be possible to retroactively increase the missing progression as it might had been lost in the communication between server and client

I'm not sure why cracking up everything but as I mentioned, it's not heating up which is uncommon in Sky, it's the aspect ratio your phone is using is uncommon for Sky gameplay. It's significantly shorter in height than 16:9, and 5:4 aspect ratio is uncommon higher as well. I've been here for almost a half decade and never seen such an aspect ratio and never seen that bug you mentioned. These are uncommon and specific to your device.

Facebook is unreliable, unfortunately. You need to keep trying and once you log in add another linking method

Unfortunately, the Facebook login is not a Sky issue. The game has been sending several daily tips (before you press play) suggesting to add alternative link methods to Facebook. They warned us regularly for months.
