No change, at least since I started playing. If you're zoomed out it tends to prioritize the nearby statues. If you're on PC just hold your left alt and mouse click on it instead. For mobile zoom in.

Me and my boyfriend are wondering if it's possible to get to the core(the big volcano spouting rocks) or not?

Even doing bugs isn't possible get close totally because have a invisible wall in front of the cristal and even you two try pass it using bugs, actually theres no collision in the floor to make it able to walk

Even if they are aware about what's to come (like the rocks, krills, statues, etc) I've met many moths who have spoiled the game for themselves (I get it tho) and ofc if they just want to get it done and over with I can understand that and won't be against it... yet sometimes I do think it would be a lot more fun and thrilling for them to do it the "traditional way" and get to have the true Eden experience.. I understand what you mean, I think being carried (and using guides/wiki too) is robbing yourself of a rare new player experience. When I play with wild moths I usually do most things without pro gamer moves and on foot (being slower sometimes works to incentivize them to take the lead too )

When I was a moth, it helped a ton that my first Eden trip was when my veteran carried me through. They did explain everything, but I was scared out of my wings nontheless. It took several passenger trips until I became less afraid, and eventually tried taking the lead and then finally do a solo Eden run. It felt like when the parent lets go of the child's bicycle for the first time. I personally think that it depends on the moth case by case.

Honestly, when it comes to assisting moths, I go by the creed "master the regular path before taking shortcuts; you never know when will a shortcut demand more time from you than regular path".
So yeah, plain path all the way if you ask me. I only take shortcuts with friends.

Hi all! I have been playing for some time, mostly confident in a solo Eden run. A few days from now I will take my moth with me too, for the first time. They are highly averse to any challenges (at least for the first time) but they have grown to really love Sky. Now I could leave them enough time until they feel ready, but from personal experience, that would be never. On the other hand, they asked me to take them to CR with me sometimes as a passanger, and for my route that requires a fully restored Aviary and Wind paths. They have activated both the little Prince and the Aviary Eden quests now. I hope that after a few Uber trips, they will realize that Eden is not impossible.
I do plan to take them the normal route in Eden without shortcuts.

Taking all of that into consideration, do you have any advice, on what I should look out for, or anything useful that could make this a more pleasant experience for my lil' moth?

Imo its more to accept that you WILL loose everything after doing eden. Before doing it for the first time(I was solo lol) I didn't know it was normal to die in eden so I didn't try to lit every kid. But once my friends told me it was the goal to die, I stopped being afraid of losing my light

So, if I understand correctly, when I next run Eden, the expectation will be to give WL to statues prior to lighting them. Correct? Does this change the impact of giving WL to those “frozen” that you do not light as a torch for recharging?
Someone else told me it was important, on the “reincarnation flight” to be certain to fly thru as many spirits as possible for more WL. Haven’t found anything online to confirm that one tho.

You get AC for every statue to light, but you can give wings and light lanterns in your favorite order. Just that button priority is statues over lanterns. And you get WLs from your wing buffs, not the spirits on the flight. They only give wax

Eden is challenging even for old players but I think if you inform the moth beforehand that all light will be lost in Eden but can be collected again that would lessen the blow. I cried a lot when I went to Eden the first time bc of the shock of losing all my light and dying but also bc of the beauty of flying through orbit.

To make the experience more comfortable I’d try to get them to watch some simple tutorials on YouTube so they have seen the full extent to Eden and know where they’re going, even if they’re going to be a passenger :-) there’s some really nice concise ones out there that really boosted my confidence when I was starting out!

Hey, this is my first time talking here I hope this is the right place. 1 question about eden: i know i have to guide the little prince through it and i dont want to look up more spoilers on that, but can anyone tell me: does the little prince "interrupt" you with cutscenes that would make it difficult to go through eden with someone who has already completed the little prince quest, or is it just holding his hand through it?

Tbh for the main part of eden you don't even see the little prince beside in the cutscenes because he goes before you to eden. He become a fallen child and you need to give him light and you rejoin him in orbit

I noticed that while someone else does a little prince quest and I am not, I cannot hold that person's hand. If the little prince only appears in cutscenes in Eden, then it will not affect holding hands with that person, right?

Well as a moth myself, my first time in eden I went with an ingame friend. Although she kinda dragged me through the first half of eden, she got hit multiple times so I decided to move on my own. I never regretted that decision, because I was so proud when I did it, even if it wasn’t the best result concerning AC. After that, I only did solo eden or went with a friend as a backup to light you if you get hit.
I think it’s good to know as a moth that someone’s there for you if you get hit (especially in the first part), but I believe a moth should try to move themselves and do the parcour. However, I would recommend that you tell the moth that you will lose all your wl and that you should light all the kids statues.

Doing it yourself makes it feel more rewarding and lets you have a better experience. I even find watching guides on eden a bit spoiling because then you know whats coming.

Personally I was able to get all statues with 160 ish wl and a recharge prop [Assembly Brazier]. It really helps to push through the storm.
At the end of the last barrier/light source I usually still have around 80-100 wl if I get hit a few times

It does protect from a single Krill hit, but in the same vein, it also protects from at least 2 rock/shard hits, which is pretty dang nice.

It all depends with what kind of damage do these things hit you and every hit that would cause you to lose wl is protected by the mask until it breaks.

very tall: highest level of mobility because your legs don’t drag through the water, but you lose access to several shelters because your head isn’t covered. still, I consider this more beginner-friendly because it allows for better navigation and sight

very short: slowest mobility because you need to wade/swim through the water in some places, but you can access shelters that most skids can’t (eg. at the final section). best for casuals with lots of WLs, who can afford the time to reach every single statue

I think the optimal height for experienced players is medium, specifically the shortest one can go without getting the chibi run animation

I’m not even sure how much player size affects PNR. You can pretty much tank zone 1. Avoid spotlights in zone 2 and gun for torches. And zone 3 just kills everyone.

Eden was so buggy today for me. It was literally hell. At first, I got stuck after reaching diamond as a soul. Then, when I reached orbit, i couldn't summon any spirit. The whole orbit constellation became unresponsive. I had to restart again to fix orbit which I have never done before so was worried if I would respawn in Eden instead of orbit. It was crazy today.

You can’t run faster as Chibi, just the running animation looks faster. Since chibis are deeper in the water, it could even be they‘re slower in pnr.
Chibis have almost the same hitbox as tall people, so it wouldn’t make much of a difference, except that chibis can better hide from shards behind rocks

Actually taller people can do it but you’d need some furniture spells to do it

I believe there‘s no official statement on that, but here‘s how I think it works:
For Chibi falling, you first drag your leg up a hill. While you drag that leg, your skykid is very close to the ground, and you’re not really standing on one foot, more in the middle of them. Since chibis are very small and have a low hitbox/position, the skykid’s position is below the ground.
If you now let go of leg-dragging and move towards the hill before the game can set your position back on your feet, it‘ll try to walk from that position below the ground, and you‘ll fall down. That‘s the usual Chibi falling.
That‘s possible taller than Chibi too, even without props. You just have to find a good location, where even taller hitboxes/positions can clip into the ground, like at steps or sharp edges.

Just did Eden a few hours ago, noticed no such thing. All the numbers seemed the same as 3-4 months ago. From experience, 120 WL is an approximate for a run without (or at least barely) getting hit until zone 3. Usually got to 130-140 to be on the safe side.
Did one today starting with 150, but with a friend and got hit a bunch of times while saving them, had 2 WL at the last statue and barely completed it

In my opinion they made Eden easier at the beginning of the year, since they removed crawling. That changed a lot, even with more rocks. And after that there was no other change, except that bug with stunlock/wind wall

Well I hope to plan on going with a friend on Monday and seeing if it's the same. But mainly we are going in to test if that bugged WL from Isle that we managed to temporarily fix by going to Passage version of Isle will still be there after an Eden run. From what I'm gathering it's only a one time fix and it will never spawn again unfortunately.

This happened to someone I was leading and while we skipped the more difficult ones on the edges of the map, they should have gotten way more than one candle. They were holding my hand until the last lantern and I kept checking in with them about giving light to the statues. It was post-update but before the issues began yesterday so I encouraged them to submit a bug report, especially if it happens again.

one is earned during/after the credits and performance spirits aren't showing up in orbit. if you've ascended the frantic stagehand or the mellow musician, that's why you get 2 after the rebirth cutscene

When your light is off you cannot teleport to someone else(with whom you have tp unlocked) but someone can tp to you if you are lightless

The main thing that you need to remember is to just keep going, no matter how scary it is. Try to help your friends but if it’s your first time, let your friends help you as much as they can. There will come a point you may need to continue alone; do so, and the server should allow you to regroup with your friends at the next stage.
Bring as many wings as you possibly can, you will need them all. Remember that most of Eden is about timing, so wait for the breaks before you run

So again what's the point of doing eden if it resets your progress

Eden only resets your wings, and you get to recollect them in the realms after. They don't disappear. You also keep all of your cosmetics and spirits you've collected as well. It really doesn't actually reset anything except the children of the light you collected. Giving your wl to the statues in eden also gives you Ascended Candles depending on how many statues you give to. It's 0.25 per statue and 63 statues with a max of 15.75

Not at all. All winged light you have you sacrifice to the Lost Ones (petrified kids) in Storm Lock.

And as said before, you only lose all winged light. Everything else is not lost except for ascended candles, which get added depending on how many petrified kids were given winged light to.

I´d totally recommend that in case of bright capes, one wears dark outfits while with dark capes, one wears bright outfits like default for example. Sure, the tears on the Duets Ultimate Cape are nicely shown due to Angler outfit, but they´re barely seen on the epaulettes due to being bright, thus ... yeah. 🤭

That is impressive, since I found the exact opposite. Dying from cold in Snow being absolutely more peaceful than dying due to being literally impaled and destroyed by the neverending rain of possibly razor-sharp crystal shards. 👀

As in the cold, your body basically slowly shuts down, feelings being first to go. Not so much with direct injuries though where first thing you feel is horrific pain ... and the sound effects of both having wl knocked out of you as well as destroyed don´t help as well.

Which are basically like being cut up by swords. 👀

Anywhere where rocks can´t hit you is safe, even if it´s recommended to stay by torches, so that goo-water doesn´t get ya.

Especially if your torch isn´t lit, you smart one. 🤭 I have no shame, I always bring the torch to Eden as well.

I wished to see how many wl would take to be able to go from the start to the end and then back to the start without dying. Turns out you need to be smol, have an Elder mask, at least 184 wl and hella lot of wits as well as luck.

Pity room wl is something else
If you lose all wings outside Eden you get send to a void space with a single wing in it, that’s called pity room. It’s different from the void after dying in Eden, the white child there is not a normal wl

That's actually something I always thought was one and the same, only that "Pity Room" outside Eden just sends you back while Eden "Pity Room" sends you into an ascension process.

It's probably because the one that happens outside Eden can be seen as the game taking pity on you by giving you 1 wl to be able to respawn while in Eden, the ascension process takes all attention away from the voidspace you end up in after dying.

Kind of like the entire shtick of "You lose" or "You died" + "you win" that retro games have.

So I went to eden and felt like I didn't get all the ascended candles I should have. I couldn't remember exactly how many I had before, so even though it felt like I didn't get enough, maybe I was just wrong. Decided to go again and check to see if i did really badly or something. I saw I had only missed 5 statues which cool so I took care of those. But then I didn't get a candle... I thought 4 statues was 1 candle, am I mistaken?

Yes, 4 statues are 1 AC. Did you check your AC count before and after orbit? The animation where you receive it is a bit bugged, but usually you get the correct amount of AC

Can not confirm from my first run, but my second run I had 32 candles and then after 5 statues I still have 32

Try doing mid-honks constantly when being in Zone 3, which will cancel any and all stun-animations before you'd reach 10- wl.
