If you really enjoy the surfing mechanic, think that you would use it more than the number of surfboard spells you have, and have money to spare, I recommend the purchase. Surfboards can’t really be used in shared spaces due to size limitations, so purchasing it for yourself is really the only way to use it long-term.

I made a literal Excel worksheet to track how active my friends are based on whether they light my star in their constellations, and whether they choose to receive the light I send to their star in my constellations. I will keep this going for a while in order to ONLY unfriend the inactive players (exceptions being friends I made via Discord or Twitch, I'll keep those friends).
Almost all these names were made with the randomize generator, and they are organized in alphabetical order.
I won't start unfriending players for quite a while yet, just in case.
EDIT: Also the N/A was the day Sky started to bug out from the recent update. I was stuck, unable to really do anything.
